Aw man... Is it Sunday morning already? How much Jack did we drink last night? I ask The Old Man what to do about breakfast since my hung over ass ain't doing shit in the kitchen this morning. Originially The Old Man and I were gonna descend on The Frontier and try to soak up dregs of jack and gawd knows what else we drank the night before. When we drove by we found the place mobbed. We forgot that UNM had just started up and was flooded with new college students desparately trying to be hip in a new town trying out the local flavour. Fuck that shit. I ain't got the patience to deal with some Trustafarian hippy dumbass asking if the cinnamon roll is gluten free or if the eggs are free range. I flipped a bitch in the middle of the street and headed east in hopes of finding something halfway decent and soon as The Old Man was fixin' to put his Grumpy Pants on. I saw a shining beacon of light ahead that was Mannie's, and pulled the whip into the parking lot and got rock star parkinig right by the front door! Booyah! The Old Man immediately saw this as a sign that the place sucked, but having heard good things I told him to shut his pie and get his pert lil ass outta the car. We got through the door and were told to seat ourselves and scored a perfect little booth for two. The waitress was over immediately with menus and asking our drink order. The Old Man got the Pancakes, eggs over easy and bacon (his typical "I'm at a new place so if they screw up this simple shit they suck" order). I ordered the Huevos Rancheros with eggs over easy, green chili and hash browns extra crispy. The food came out quicker than we could get through 4 pages in The Alibi (which Mannie's thoughfully places right inside the door as you come in). The portions size was perfect I thought but I was probably still slight drunk so YMMV. Big enough to take up the whole plate, to sate your appetite but not enough to make you feel like a total pig and start entertaining the idea of becoming bulemic. The Old Man stated his was the bomb and mine was the shit. We've come here a least a dozen times and everything is consistant as is the waitstaff (who after awhile remember your names and what you usually eat). If you are lucky there's a tranny that frequents the place on the weekend so you can have breakfast with a Tranny at Mannie's.

I made my way to Mannie's based on a recommendation by a local. I was a bit confused by the seat yourself setup. There are no signs and nobody at the front to let you know that you can sit wherever you like (unless I missed it). The service was pretty good considering there were only three servers working during the lunch rush and the place was packed. I had the Joanne's Reuben sandwich, which was a basic reuben with the addition of turkey and green chile. Though it was just a sandwich, it was delicious and very filling. I topped it off with some banana cream pie, which was also good except that the crust tasted freezer burned. All things considered, I think the low prices are probably what bring people to this place.

Awesome! I love the "seat yourself" atmosphere and the staff was very attentive even checking on tables that were not theirs when they noticed the other servers were busy. I had Pedro's Corned Beef Hash and was floored by all the flavors on the plate. This is a great representation of how to merge classic home cooking with New Mexican flavor. This will be a "must visit' on every trip I make to Albuquerque.

Love the value on breakfast here. Great place, but sometimes too crowded..

I've been struggling with my review of Mannie's for several weeks. I feel like I am writing history. When I think of Mannie's I think of my childhood. I think of climbing my next door neighbors crabapple tree, and him taking me to Mannies for a milkshake, which I spilled everywhere. When someone mentions Mannie's I think iconic, I think orange sunsets, I think of summertime, crickets, and changing seasons, I think Albuquerque. Mannie's has been located in the same shopping center for forever(forever as far as I'm concerned). They have been a staple while several other business have failed, several have started, and failed again. There they sit on the corner, waiting to feed hungry students, Nob Hillians, and out of towners. Ready, with their doors and coffee pots open, to help you start or end your day. Mannie's food and prices might be why they've been in business for forever. You get real life comfort food, something that would be made by a family member, large portions, all costing a fraction of what you would pay somewhere else. Plus, their menu is so well varied, you can get a hash breakfast and a chicken fried steak breakfast, or some baked items, and New Mexican food, seriously, the options are endless. Eat at Mannie's if you want a piece of Albuquerque history, a meal to make you happy, at prices we can all agree with! (Also, they offer takeout for people who hate to leave their house)

Ok New Yorkers....This is the closest thing to a NY Diner I have found in ABQ. Seriously the Corn Beef Hash is the Best I have ever had. They also have a "challah-like" bread... And Nob hill staple for years. Great food all around, lots of homemade deliciousness!

  • Wes T.

Mannie's is a Albuquerque/UNM staple and has hosted many a 'Burqueno when they wanted some decent comfort food at a moderate price. Don't expect anything extravagant or over the top. They keep it simple here, and they do a good job based on that concept. You seat yourself, the menu is one big laminated page, and it is filled with stuff you'll recognize. I like the huevos (pretty big portions), and their red chile is pretty darned good no matter what you get it on. Nice patio for warm weather.

  • Theodore B.

Thus place is awesome! Food is always great and portions large. Prices are extremely reasonable and service usually fast and friendly. I have been coming here for years and will continue to do so until I get too old. Recently they remodeled a bit so even nicer now while not disrupting the old diner feel.

  • Flozilla B.

I have been eating at Mannies for over a decade! This classic local diner serves up a little bit of everything including a nice selection of Greek favorites. Give it a try! Service is prompt and efficient...those are important to me. My new favorite is the "Dang good" biscuits and gravy....which I cant believe I just discovered on the vast menu. I pretty much always get the cheese enchilada plate with veggie RED...in my top 3 red chiles in ABQ for sure! But, Mannies has a lot to offer and they are happy to make substitutions to get your order just right. The chile is tops and the have a veggie option. Just go.

OMG this place is worth the stop. Inviting atmosphere, EXCELLANT food and plenty of it. Service was great and prices are good especially for the amount of food you get. If I didn't live in Chicago I would be back.

This place has serious cleanliness issues, and the wait staff look like they'd rather be anywhere but at work. Our waitress brought us 3 of the 4 place settings we needed, and the silverware was coated with a dirty film. My daughter's knife had residual food on it. The waitress could have cared less who we were and only came by once to see if we needed anything. The bus boy was sweeping food off of dirty tables onto the floor and chairs, and using the same rag to clean multiple tables. The waitress brought our food with the bottoms of our plates actually resting in the tops of the food on adjacent plates. The bacon was overcooked, and my omelette had a dozen or so hash browns on the plate even though I hadn't ordered hash browns, making me wonder where they came from. Eww. I won't go back there again.

Had not been to Mannie's in awhile. Needed comfort food on a windy rainy day. Knowing the menu by heart (and yes, they do serve great burgers, sandwiches, breakfast all day, and NM food) I opted for a special; carne adovada, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, with tortilla. Pretty yummy! My server Joaquin (kudos to him!) "talked" me into a piece of home made cherry pie. I'm usually picking my meals from the specials board as you walk in.

Eggs = Perfect. Green chile = Beautiful. Value = OH yes. Service = Flawless. Thank you, Mannie's, for a consistently affordable and delightful breakfast provided with seamless service. And really... the BEST bacon around. Do your self a favor, Albuquerque: go.

Once again another excellent meal at mannies. Great food giant portions and fast friendly service. What more can you ask for ? Also the option to get a muffin with your breakfast as your bread choice is extremely unique and endearing.

Was kinda hungry for lunch and was thinking burritos. Since the top 2 burritos joints were CLOSED ON SUNDAY (wth ABQ?), I just started yelping places close to where I was driving. Ta-da: Mannies. Got the pork something or another special. It was delish. A large pork loin marinated and spiced up. 2 eggs over easy. Hash browns--potatoey. My personal fav: dipping the tortilla into the broken yolk with a little salt. Yummy! Even had decaf since I was having a breakfasty dish. Enough food to feed me for 2 more meals (I'll add some of my own veggies at home). Under $10 which comes to 3 meals for $3 and some change a piece. Eat there. Wanna try the green chile cheeseburger next time.

For a greasy spoon, this place is it, It pretends to be nothing else. Aside from the worn out booth seat with no springs and the puke pink wall, the food is good. I had the #5 scrambled eggs with bacon and it came with 5 pieces of bacon!! I could not eat it all and it was thick slab bacon! I added some red chili to the eggs and it took my mind off the ugly pink wall in front of me...oh, and the cinamon roll was to die for, better than Frontier with that homemade taste...perfect place for comfort food except for that puke pink wall, try to face away from it....

I love New Mexican food. Love, love, LOOOVE it. So whenever I visit my in-laws in the ABQ, I take every opportunity to get some Mexican, new or otherwise. We decided to go out to breakfast the day after Thanksgiving and the inlaws recommended Mannie's. "The chicken fried steak is delicious!" I couldn't help myself and got the huevos rancheros. Big mistake. The chili tasted like canned taco sauce mixed with ketchup. The meat was dry ground beef. Even the tortillas tasted cheap and old. Bland, gross, soggy, ick. Others didn't fare much better. One cousin got a club sandwich that she said was boring. Another got tacos that looked exactly like Taco Bell, but without the flavor. Pretty much the only person who was happy was my father-in-law. He got the chicken fried steak. Service was friendly, but slow. It looked like just one waitress was tending the entire restaurant, and she was super impressive. But honestly Mannie's, hire some more waiters, and hire some real cooks because your food is awful.

This is your typical, run of the mill family style diner. And I was actually quite pleased. Why was I pleased? They serve beer, that's why.

Stranded in Albuquerque after our flight back to NYC got cancelled, we looked for a diner to get a solid breakfast. We happened upon Mannie's, which looked busy, and we lucked out. We had been traveling for a while by car and had experienced plenty of diners on the road between Flagstaff and Albuquerque. Mannie's was easily the best breakfast we had the whole trip. Awesome hash browns, nice and crispy on the outside, soft and hot on the inside. French toast with pecans and blueberries was delicious. Generous portions, friendly attentive staff and nice atmosphere. If I lived in Albuquerque, I'd come here all the time.

Great first meal in Albuquerque! I found it when looking for a Taco Bell. I had been flying form Kansas City earlier, and was hungry. Instead of Mexican food, I decided on the guacamole burger. I'll save the Mexican food for Mexican restaurants. . The server was so nice and polite. Infact, the whole restaurant seemed to be polite. My cheeseburger came, perfect, and I thought, if I keep eating like this when I'm out of town, I'm going to gain weight. I could ALMOST eat it all. The French fries where thick, and very good. On my cheeseburger, which I order medium well, it had Swiss cheese and and a dollop of guacamole. The bun was toasted. While eating, I overheard the pie menu....but I was too full for pie...WHAT? Yep, it happens. The server refilled my last glass of iced tea in a to go glass, which I really appreciated. What a neat little place...it could use brighter lighting, though. must go back....for pie.

Delightful greasy spoon! Cheap, easy, and exactly what you'd expect. Nothing fancy and nothing really stellar but a great place for that lazy weekend breakfast you crave from time to time. Portions are large so best if you have an appetite.

Ate here a couple years ago and haven't ate here since. Food isn't special but it ain't bad. Main thing was there chili, it's not really chili.

My brother and I ate at Manny's for lunch. I had a chicken breast with a salad and steamed vegetables. My brother had the fried chicken dinner with fries. Everything was perfect from the food to the service. Nice change from all the fast food in the university area.

I used to wash dishes here ages ago. I also think I remember eating here for free. Well, I've ate here a few hundred times, and I'd recommend it to out of towners looking for a safe environment in the middle of the hippest area in ABQ (not saying much). The food is quintessential New Mexican food. The entire staff, and the owner are English as a first language folks. I rarely eat at non-chain restaurants due to my own personal issues (I like consistency), but this place is an exception to that rule for me. I give this place 6 stars for satisfaction, and negative two stars for the memories of washing those filthy dishes.

I'll make my review short and sweet and bulleted: - endless coffee, hot and brown and fresh - pancakes to induce a carb-coma - bacon just right, crispy but a bit of chew - a waitress named Laverne who calls everyone 'hon' - locals reading the paper and debating politics at 7 in the morning - I'm not kidding about Laverne

My favorite place to hang out for breakfast and a game of Scrabble. Wait staff is very friendly and attentive. Favorites for breakfast: huevos rancheros w/ Xmas chili, or else the ho'made corned beef hash and eggs. Big portions, including the giant sour dough toast. On the down side, I'm not real sold on their lunches, and the coffee is typical weak American fare.

Mannie's is my new favorite restaurant. I've lived five blocks from it for the last year, and only ventured in five months ago. I was immediately struck by the welcoming interior, with the crinkled paper sign hanging above the specials that reads, "Please Seat Yourself." I have seated myself many times since. Their breakfasts are phenomenal. A good selection of omelets and bacon+egg+toast combos fill the menu, as well as a couple ubiquitous breakfast burrito selections, huevos rancheros, and some cleverly titled specials, such as the Pile Up at Central and Girard. Myself, I'm addicted to their Chili and Cheese Omelet with their red meat chili and a tortilla. Actually, I think it's the red chili I'm most addicted to. They make their own muffins and you can order them with most breakfasts. Their lunches and dinners are more of a mixed bag. The fried chicken is a bit tasteless and their Steak and Vegetable soup is a bit watery; however, the Green Chili Chicken soup is spicy treat and the Spaghetti with red chili is a neat little fusion item. The servers are always wiling to greet you with a smile. I have never had to wait long for service. The servers are very good about noticing when seats fill up. All in all, I heartily recommend this place to anyone looking for inexpensive meat and potatoes fare.

We fell on this restaurant by accident and it turned out to be a good fall into....We both had the reuben's and although the pastrami was lean it was a bit tough. The FF were a little undercooked for my flavor, but the brown gravy made up for it.

  • Lucas L.

Service was very quick and the waitresses were very friendly. Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas for 5.95... thats a deal... until you taste it. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meal so I may have to try them again. I hear the Veggie Breakfast Burrito is good, but my enchiladas were very bland and extremely watery. I suppose for 6 bucks I got what I paid for.

  • Laura W.

Oh, Mannie's, you have made me so happy! I will forgive you for seriously under-buttering my slabs of rye Texas toast because you are the first place I've been to in the 'Burque that actually makes their own corned beef has instead of using that crap from a can. Sure, the potatoes were shredded instead of traditionally diced, but I don't care, especially since you understand that the little crunchy bits of corned beef are as important to add as the big bits. My eggs were perfectly over-easy and the entire dish actually needed salt instead of being salted to death as it so often is. I didn't even look at the menu, but don't worry -- I'll be back and will try something different next time. Maybe.

The Husband and I found ourselves at Mannie's on a Monday morning. We had tried to go to Loyola, but it was closed. Neither of us was feeling very adventurous that morning, so we ordered pretty standard (for folks from PA) breakfast food. I had a ham and cheese omelette, which was as good as any omelette you'd get at a diner. The Husband had granola pancakes. We thought the granola might be cooked into the pancakes. But it turned out to be a plate of plain old pancakes with granola on top. The Husband was glad he ordered a short stack because a short stack was still a pretty big pile of pancakes.

A good hardworking new mexican fare. I went with a friend had the green chile cheese fries as a starter that came served on a massive plate that made the pile of fries in the center seem lonely . My friend had taco salad and clam chowder. The salad was dependable and the chowder was the star of the meal with fresh ingredients and great taste, it is highly recommended. I had the ruben and was a bit disappointed but the potato salad that accompanied it was well done. All in all Mannie's is a great place to grab a pretty good bite I will return .

I ate breakfast here every day when I was going to an ev psych conference at UNM. The servers were all super-nice and they got my order right every day (I ask for my omelette not well done and my bacon super crispy and many diners give me the opposite of what I've asked).

Have lived in Albuquerque my whole life and never tried Mannie's until today. Ordered the French toast. It came with 2 eggs and hash browns for only $4.95. Was really good and a lot of food for the price. Service was good and I would definitely come back.

Mannie's is awesome. More delicious New Mexican diner heaven. All 3 of us has breakfast for $20. I had the veg burrito with extra green chile, came with an extra tortilla, my wife had the green chile and cheese omlet and my cousin had the juevos rancheros, all superb. The suprise of the meal was the rye bread ( Iknow ,weird, right?) which was perfectly buttered and indefatiguable with orange marmalade. Mannies=good life choice. YES I USED INDEFATIGABLE IN A REVIEW

The term Greasy Spoon really doesn't apply to this staple of the UNM area in the Nob Hill/University area of Albuquerque. It is a standard diner with American comfort food sprinkled with New Mexican entrees. Breakfasts are fantastic here at be sure to try any entree with bacon. The interior is kind of generic American dinner but comfortable. When our kitchen was being remodeled this was the nearby, local place that became our go-to place for meals. When you sometimes eat there three times a day, it could be easy for the place to wear thin. But we still head there when we are looking for good food with nothing fancy. You won't be blown away, but you will leave satisfied. There aren't any unpleasant surprises. The waitstaff have been there forever so they must treat their folks well. That leads to happy employees and fast, friendly service. Can't go wrong with this consistent staple of the Albuquerque University area.

It's a little known fact that Mannie's is named after St. Mannie, the patron saint of hangovers. On any Saturday morning you'll find queasy stomachs and throbbing heads equipping themselves for their fight against the hangover with a plate of Mannie's breakfast. The food is standard diner fare. Huge portions. It is literally slop. My usual is the "pile up at Central and Girard" which is basically breakfast soup. This is a good thing. Thank you st. Mannie's for helping me recover from many poor decisions the night before. And the muffins are amazing.

  • Pat Z.

Yeah, I know it's a landmark in the Q, but big honkin' lumps in the mashed potatoes? Put a little more effort into it, would ya? I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed and gravy. No seasoning whatsoever, the steak was crispy, but the veggies, gravy and potatoes were, how do I put this nicely, disgusting. The service was on point and very friendly, but they just couldn't make up for the food. Salad was out of a bag and dressing was from a bottle. My expectations were higher than they should have been, I guess. Tip the servers and wake up the cook--just boring.

So I'm reviewing after my first visit and I'm sure if I made a few visits I might figure out what they do well, since they seem to get good reviews. That being said, I stopped in mid-afternoon for a quick lunch. The place was quiet, with a handful of tables in use. Service was quick and friendly, free WiFi decently fast and the decor pleasant, fairly standard diner (though the actual counter dining area was short). I ordered a bowl of green chili and a Reuben. The green chili was starched up and almost a cream version. It had a touch of heat and not much in the way of chili flavor. As a basic diner fare soup/stew goes, it wasn't bad, actually, but as green chili stew goes it was pretty lame. I had high hopes for the Reuben, which were dashed quickly. The marbled rye was thick cut and decent, the dressing standard and the sauerkraut fine. But the corned beef, the little they put on the sandwich, was tough and flavorless. I was probably lucky they put only a couple, small thin pieces on the thing, because it was so tough it was almost impossible to chew. I should have taken a photo - I'm not exaggerating when I say there was probably less than 3 ounces of meat (and so many reviews talk about the large portions?). Basically I had a kraut and rye sandwich with some chewy stuff... Again, pleasant enough place, fast and friendly service and I'm sure they do something well there, but don't even think of ordering the Reuben. Yeah, it's Albuquerque, not exactly deli-town and maybe not the place to expect a good corned beef, but if you're going to serve it, at least make an effort. No excuse for the green chili stew.

One of my favorite Rt. 66 restaurants. Lots of good stuff on the menu. The Green Chile Chicken Soup is great. The burritos rock. Old-school feel--that's a GOOD thing! Love the Patio.

Mannie's is a one and three-quarter mile walk from my house. Food is great and it's inexpensive. Be sure and try the corned beef hash for breakfast. It's the best in town!

  • Eric J.

Mannie's is a solid diner with a pretty good variety of breakfast items that make it a "go to" for me on the weekends. They serve New Mexican style favorites such as huevos rancheros, about half a dozen different omelettes, and traditional breakfast selections such as, pancakes, bacon, eggs, and some of the best hashbrowns anywhere. If you're on a low-carb diet, substitute beans for the starch. The atmosphere is super casual with a retro "Route 66" vibe. Parking is somewhat limited on the weekends due to the rush of people that like to sleep in on Saturday (like me!), then head out to brunch, all at the exact same time. Try their muffins, they're huge and come in a crazy assortment of flavors. I had the pumpkin last week. Amazing.

I read a review by Sara B. that hailed New Yorkers here for the corned beef hash. I may be a Colorado boy, but I know a vote of good confidence when I see it. I most likely have not come here had it not been for the reviews on Yelp, I have lived in Nob Hill nearly a year and have passed this place hundreds of times, I'm so glad I stopped in today! Boy was Sara B right! The corned beef has is amazing, made fresh with juicy chunks of corned beef, none of that canned stuff like some other restaurants. I also ordered my CBH with a biscuit and a side of their made from scratch sausage cream gravy, holly shit, best biscuits and gravy I have had outside of Colorado! Highly, highly, highly recommend this joint for breakfast!

This is my favorite breakfast place in all of New Mexico. They have some of the best Huevos Rancheros, Corned Beef Hash and Muffins around, aside from homemade. I love to expose new people to this restaurant. This diner has something for everyone. Great for families with outside patio seating.

Very appealing little diner. Had huevos rancheros with red and green chili. Was delicious and spicy. Kids had muffins...underwhelmed. btw chocolate chip muffin has walnuts in it we didn't expect that. I would visit again to try other things on the menu.

I'm not a regular at Mannie's, but every time I have gone it has been a great experience. The prices are very reasonable and you get good size portions, too. They also serve breakfast all day (as everyone should), so you can get your breakfast burrito smothered in green chile when you need it the most. The side that come with the food are pretty substantial, especially their mac n' cheese. The atmosphere is great too, it's got that small town diner feel with a nice covered patio to boot. The patio is right by Central, so it's a bit noisy, but it's fenced off and shady, so it's a decent place to sit when the weather is nice. If you're in the area of UNM, you owe it to yourself to try it out!

Food was highly edible. I had the chicken enchiladas, bf had the bbq cheeseburger. Server made sure the burger was cooked to order. For the price much tastier than Hurricanes or Wecks.

Mannie's is that established landmark sort of diner off of the historic route 66. The meals are down home cookin' with that comfort food feeling. It's a hussle and bussle establishment, so don't expect a personalized service experience, but if you're looking for a good cup of Joe and some tasty green chili smothered breakfast food, Mannie's is your place.

This place is a real standby for straightforward breakfast options. Service is always friendly and efficient. I always seen to gravitate to the green chile corned beef hash. My kids love the pancakes, French Toast, and muffins. I haven't had lunch there, so can't comment there.

This place is awsome. At first i was very skeptical. I was looking for an old "dinner" style place for breakfast and we found mannies as we were driving around. Boy what a pleasant suprise. Very good fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh "muffin loaf" was huge. The breakfast was great. Coffee was very good. The staff was very friendly. A great place.

  • Bryan D.

Excellent food, reasonably priced, generously portioned, and just that appealingly bit retro. This place has some gems on the menu - and the one I've come across that is becoming my guilty pleasure is the chicken-fried steak and eggs. CFS is by no means a diet dish, so when you do partake you need to have it at a place that does it well. This place does it VERY well. That alone will keep me coming back.

  • S P.

Absolutely atrocious food. SALTY pancakes? Are you kidding me? And you have no idea how much I wanted to stiff the waitress, or shall I refer to her as "the woman who was there"? That's a much better description. My husband got the chicken fried chicken breakfast and barely touched it, and that guy loves his CFC. Across the street is a Panera, Subway, and Panda Express, and as much I as I would rather you support a local business than a national chain, in this case, your taste buds and intestines will thank you for it.

My breakfast pancakes were meh. My hubby's omelet was meh. We didn't eat even half of either of our plates and had no desire to take boxes home. Sorry Mannies. Fail. This time.

This is one of those places that I MUST visit when I'm in town, and I really have only one meal in mind - breakfast. Mannie's breakfast is to die for, and wholly worth the ridiculously-cheap prices they charge for it. It'd still be a deal at three times the price. The real standout for me is always the steak and eggs. The eggs are perfect, and the steak is juicy and marinated in... something.... (Don't ask - it's breakfast, and it's usually gone before enough coffee makes it into the synapses to fiddle with things like 'what spice is this?') And then! There's red-and-green salsa over eggs and rice and maybe there's a muffin, if I'm already not so full that I'm exploding. The muffins, by the way, are all homemade. The coffee's good too!

This is an excellent breakfast spot!! The prices are great and the food is delicious. Perfect diner in the UNM/Nob Hill area. Great diner all the way around!! They also have a small selection of beers including some local brews. Stop in. You won't regret it.

It's a very good diner. A basic test to a diner is always the table settings: salt, pepper, jams, fake sugar, and the canister of real sugar. It's got a big menu that's a little all over the place, but you can't go wrong with the breakfast. The parking lot is always full in the morning. I mean, is there a better sign? Good beans and thick bacon. The service has always been quick and your food comes out hot and surprisingly fast for how busy it can be. This place can also (and there's surprisingly few in the area) serve some HOT green chile!

Honestly, I wasn't sure what to make of Mannie's when I drove by. It seemed like a Denny's knock-off or something, and I could not have been less interested. But, one day I had meeting nearby and needed lunch, checked out the reviews on Yelp, and thought what the hell? Good decision. I ordered something I would normally need eat - the corned beef hash. Not a food I usually think of as edible. But the reviews were convincing and I gave it a shot. Surprisingly extremely tasty. Not at all fatty or greasy. A little bit too much food, but all of it was yummy. I sat out in the patio area, which unfortunately is not smoke-free, but I lucked out and no one smoked while I was there. He atmosphere. The service was friendly and efficient. The place seemed clean, though the bathroom was a tiny bit scary. I keep telling my husband we need to go there so I can see if he likes it, so I will write more after that. Overall - good stuff, Maynard!

We love Mannie's. my wife and eat here at least twice a week. Some great bacon and lots of really good (and hot) chili. Baked good are fantastic as well. The service is always super friendly and even when it's busy the food is quick to make it to your table. It's also a place you can get a beer at 7am if you worked all night. My wife and I had our first date here 8 years ago. She had the egg sandwich! Every once in a while we get our old booth back and sit and giggle about it. I have found a new love for their eggwhite and veggie burrito!

I've tried several times to branch out and find a new favorite breakfasty spot. I always find myself disappointed and regretting this attempt. The food is consistent and well priced. The chile is good, the service is always quick. It's kid and weirdo friendly and that's a hard combo to attain. Love this dive.

This is the place to go to nurse a hangover. They serve breakfast all day, and it's a fucking diner. There is nothing worse than being hungover and going to some fancy shmancy place where everything is clean and beautiful and you run into your boss and your ex-boyfriend's little sister. Not here, I swear to God, it's like the Miracle of Mannie's that you never run into anyone you know here, no matter how busy it is. And the food and coffee is comforting in a certain, special way that only diner food can accomplish. And it comes out INSANELY fast, like you're sitting there rubbing your throbbing forehead wondering if you might die today, and then BOOM, a hot plate of Huevoes with hash browns cooked crispy, everything just oozing with chile and cheese, is placed before you. And you make your way through that ample plate like a disciplined animal, your coffee is refilled, the cheese and chile coat your wobbly tummy with all the anti-hangover goodness that we New Mexicans celebrate, and life is good again. God bless you, Mannie's.

Mannie's can be pretty hit or miss. If you start out with a clean coffee cup, it will probably be a hit... if not, may be a bit of a miss. I really love the Spanish omelet with sourdough toast. The green chile cheese burger is really good and my friends love the Pileup on Rt. 66. If your server is on the ball, everything will come out fresh and hot. If not... well, it will probably be edible. Beware, some of the booths are wonky- lost 1/2 a cup of coffee into my lap when the guy in the booth behind me decided to shift around. (Worst one seems to be nearest the parking lot, on the left as you look to the lot.) Outdoor seating is pretty nice, and I believe dog-friendly, you can smoke out there too.

I've lived in the UNM/ Nob Hill neighborhood for five years now and love trying new resturants in the area! I decided to try Mannie's for the first time and was beyond disappointed. The people working were incredibly rude and the food was overly salty to the point where I couldn't even eat my meal. I've never had such a horrible first impression of an establishment and would definitely not recommend it.

A classic old-timey diner that serves large portions of stick-to-your-ribs homestyle meals. DH loved the corned beef and hash and I had the steak and eggs. If you order breakfast, be sure to go with a muffin for your choice of bread. It's huge, moist, and delicious. I would pay 3 bucks for the muffin alone. Staff was more than accommodating with helping us find an outlet so we could work while we had our coffee. Their free wifi is a definite plus and they don't mind if you stay a bit to use it. Five cups of coffee later, we left feeling full, satisfied, and productive!

At first I wanted to write that Mannie's food is your standard diner fare. But then when I started thinking about it, a lot of the things on the menu have something distinctive about them that only Mannie's does. Everything is good, I've never had a bad meal here. I kinda wish they would upgrade the joint, it's gotten a bit run down over the years and is looking pretty dumpy.

Thus place is awesome! Food is always great and portions large. Prices are extremely reasonable and service usually fast and friendly. I have been coming here for years and will continue to do so until I get too old. Recently they remodeled a bit so even nicer now while not disrupting the old diner feel.

Fail. This time.

Just go.

Ok New Yorkers....This is the closest thing to a NY Diner I have found in ABQ. Seriously the Corn Beef Hash is the Best I have ever had. They also have a "challah-like" bread... And Nob hill staple for years. Great food all around, lots of homemade deliciousness!

  • R.J. M.

Maybe.

Had huevos rancheros for lunch and left stuffed to the brim! Very large, cheap and tasty portions. Comfortable booths and a relaxed environment. Nothing mind-blowing, but good food for the price.

Thus place is awesome! Food is always great and portions large. Prices are extremely reasonable and service usually fast and friendly. I have been coming here for years and will continue to do so until I get too old. Recently they remodeled a bit so even nicer now while not disrupting the old diner feel.

My brother and I ate at Manny's for lunch. I had a chicken breast with a salad and steamed vegetables. My brother had the fried chicken dinner with fries. Everything was perfect from the food to the service. Nice change from all the fast food in the university area.

  • R.J. M.
