Excellent food, the carne adovada was a little spicy but tolerable. The caso bowl was supper hot and was sent back. The Hatch Green Chile was just too hot.

I've sat at both the bar area and the main restaurant. With regards to the bar, the drinks are not strong at all, barely any liquor. Service at the bar was okay at best. The restaurant is great, however. If you go before 11 am, you get sopapillas with your meal. If you go after 11 am, you get chips and salsa before your meal. Service is always great at Fiestas. My water and coffee cups are kept full. The food is prepared quickly and is full of flavor. I'm quite picky about the way my eggs are cooked, but they always seem to get it right. They put just the right amount of cheese and chile on their dishes without drowning them. Another thing to mention is their inexpensive daily specials. Awesome!

Fiesta's has two yelp sites, so I'm posting my review to both. Here is what I had to say in the other review. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - My husband and I dine here for their breakfast special. They serve Huevos Rancheros for only $5.49 on Mondays through Fridays from 6:30 am to 11:00 am. My guy and I normally share that one plate while he enjoys a beer on tap, and I'll order tea or a soda. Heads up--my Mom said that she likes the Huevos Rancheros at Garcia's better than Fiesta's; if you're like her, then stick with Garcia's. If my husband and I get the special and only have a couple of beverages, then our tab, tax, and tip can all come out to less than $20.00 -- a bargain for under $10.00 each. Should you decide to sit in the cantina area, it is open seating. My husband and I like the coziness of the cantina's benches, and since it is an adult only area which have televisions, I don't mind watching a game there. This stems from me requiring a break from everyone younger than 21, and on certain days it's like needing a break from everyone younger than 30. Who is turning into a grumpy old lady? Ha ha. At any rate, I didn't notice any tvs within the restaurant side. My friend, Roger, does not like their salsa and has voiced his opinion to the staff. He'd probably give it one star. I don't mind the salsa especially since it comes with chips that are made fresh in Fiesta's. However, if you order the chips and salsa before 11:00 am, then you will be charged for it. So, you have to decide if you don't mind paying the extra dollars. Be aware that if you order a soda, then they do charge for refills. Just so you know. But, if you order iced tea, I didn't notice any refill charges. But, maybe the refills are free after 11:00 am? I don't know. Between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm (M-F) lunch specials exist. Then, Fiesta's offers a daily All-You-Can-Eat opportunity from 3:00 pm to the closing of the kitchen. So, show up with your appetites for that one because the sopas, enchiladas, and tamales are good. Check out their website [ fiestasrestaurant.com/ww ... ] to view all of their specials and other menu items. I look forward to my next visit there. One of these days, I'm going to try that All-You-Can-Eat experience. I'm sure it will be good. The food and drinks give this place three stars. Fiesta's Restaurant and Cantina earns its fourth star by being locally owned and operated by great people.

Came in for what is usually pretty darn good food. Today, unfortunately, was not the case. The sopapillas I believe were from yesterday and then microwaved. They were hard, dark, gross. The guacamole was almost black, and tasted like it. The Mexican pizza is a favorite of iurs, I convinced my sister to get it and I am sorry I did. It was soggy, and unenjoyable. My other sister did get an egg white omelet that she thought was absolutely delicious. I had to go to the host stand to ask for refills on drinks. The chips and salsa were great, unfortunately, because it is before 11 there was a charge for them. We usually really enjoy it here. But 5 0ut of 6 meals were sub par. Will come again I'm sure. Just not anytime soon.

Oh my goodness people. If you haven't tried Fiesta's, I'd highly recommend it. I'm reviewing from one visit--but it was so kickass, I'm just giving the place 5 stars. This is also because New Mexican or Mexican food usually isn't one of my go-to cuisines when I'm hungry-but Fiesta's changed all that on a cool spring evening here in ABQ. Even the fact that they're right on the SE corner of Montgomery and Carlisle--an awkward place to get in or out of--won't stop me from getting my tush into a seat there. First, super sweet and prompt service from the minute you walk in the door. Good sign. The chips for the table were so light--and you couldn't see a spec of oil on them. I had the Tamale and Chile Relleno combo plate. Seriously, when I was finished with my plate (something I usually don't do unless the food is toe-curlin'--belly lovin' food), I needed a cigarette and a cuddle. You getting me here? The tamale was perfect. Not too wet, not too dry. SO SO TASTY. And their green sauce was great--I could have eaten it by the spoon. Wait. I did. I am NOT a hot sauce, green chile, red chile type person usually. But there was so much depth to this green sauce. I can't wait to go back. And the Chile Relleno? Faggetaboutit! The batter was so frickin' good. Perfect crispness with a light layer of moist batter under it, and then a perfectly cooked chile inside--all kinds of deliciousness. After all that, I was so full. I thought I'd just have a bit of the sopa. OMG-- DELICIOUS. It was perfect. I finished off one of them.Puffy, not greasy and really really tasty. This can only happen from care, actual effort in the kitchen. I have to say that all of the reasons the food was great was because of people working in the kitchen who cared about that food. That's the kind of shiz that I loooove to see. Or taste.

Great chili. Great service. Love the ambiance. Its clean. A good selection off the menu. We prefer this place over Sadies and most of the other New Mexican restaurants.

On the last night of staying in Albuquerque,we came across this restaurant. We ended up eating here because of the reviews. It's was great food and server was very good but slow service. We look around he was the only one working the floor. I believe his name was Cody. I give him props for keeping his head up. The restaurant needs more staff and it's would be a excellent restaurant.

Gotta hope i caught them on a bad night... Only three other tables occupied. Still our glasses were mostly in need of filling. Chips~ thin and crispy and fresh. Salsa is good. Blended. Almost exactly like chili's salsa. Easy to wipe out the bowl. Tiny bowl. Which remained empty. The server was ... Unhappy is a euphemism. I asked if there was a hotter salsa. Her answer was "no." just that... "Excuse me, do you have a hotter salsa?". "No." And kept walking. Food was average. Prices average. Sopapillas average. Like i said... Hope i caught them on a bad night. Pity. Because i tipped 40% the last time we went out to eat. My mom raised four kids by waiting tables. Is it so difficult to be nice? Take a lesson from GARCIA'S, you will leave feeling like you should invite your server to thanksgiving dinner.

Stopped in for some hangover food cause it's close-by. Food is good, service the same. I sat in the bar area and it felt a little old school and seedy but, that's probably because I was a. hungover and b. sitting in their bar. I went on a day it was stuffed with the after church crowd. I'd go back but I'll likely avoid the bar area next time.

I don't know what everyone is raving about. There were only 2 other tables and a small party in the back room when we were here and it took our waitress 15 minutes to just come to our table. We got queso and cheese enchiladas and neither were very tasty. We were very underwhelmed here. If you want good Mexican food do yourself a favor & go somewhere else.

Had the huevos rancheros-it was pretty good, chili tasty. Coffee was restaurant, weak, ground, canned type of coffee. Service was good. Sopapilla wasn't very good.

Ive returned here many a mornings for my weekend fuel: Huevos rancheros. Green chile. Sopapilla con miel. This divey place hosts a cross sectional representative of Albuquerque's community: the nurses from UNM hospital getting off their nightshift, old friends and families from the north valley, a coup,e of bikers having their first pint in the day. (Then theres me driving all the way down from the heights for the morning grub) The well dressed owner often comes and says hello and a hug to familiar faces and her repeat customers. Eventho the coffee may be weak, (if you drink enuff cups) fiestas inevitably gives one and yours sufficient weekend fortification.

Ok. So the service isn't great BUT the breakfast is outstanding!! Their chili is amazing and every time I go there got breakfast it's delicious. The decor could use some updating but that's no reason not to go! I've never had dinner there but I've heard their margaritas are awesome!

I posted a tip and am too full to rite it all here too. Good place, good food, a lot of food for the money, everyone seems to know the waiter by name.

I should start this review by letting you know that I did not eat here. Not even one morsel, but I'm giving it five stars. Why, you might ask? Because of the late night karaoke. My friends and I were in town for a magical wedding and had a hankering for some karaoke. Surprisingly, not a lot of places to choose from on a Friday night. But Fiesta's had us covered. We rolled in, a large group of ten, and immediately felt at home. From the bartender to the server to the karaoke host and the amazing group of back-up band (on inflatable instruments, no less), this place was the best. It allowed our group to be crazy and loud and was a night to remember. We'll be back someday when we're in town again!

The old adage applies here, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." I am from Albuquerque, so I am familiar with Fiesta's or at least their bright neon sign, which has honestly always turned me away. My assumption was just another over-greasy, over-larded, New Mexican restaurant. Well, this week proved me wrong! We stopped by here after a long day and ordered take-out (sorry, not another review for the bar). The food was fresh, flavorful, and well presented. The staff was kind and professional, and the place was clean and kitchy. As a guacamole snob, I greatly enjoyed their fresh guac and the tamale was one of the best in the city! I will be back, and will happily bring friends and family.

This is my favorite restaurant in Albuquerque. I'm in San Antonio now. I hope to visit Albuquerque soon. This is where I'll go as soon as I get off the plane. Best red sauce and best karaoke in town.

Pretty Good New Mexican food. I was the only one in the place at 8pm which guaranteed me excellent service. Best part of the $7.75 combination dinner was the cheese enchilada. I knew the other part of the combo was going to be the deep fried version of the Chile Relleno, but the batter was quite light and it actually worked well this time. Both the red and green chile had some spice, but I believe the green won the heat contest in this restaurant. Refried beans were not great and rice was standard spanish style. I'm not sure how to separate the Sopapillas at different places because they all taste the same (unless it's whole wheat), but the two that I got with my meal were excellent. Free Chips and salsa too, but the salsa was more like red tomato sauce with no onions or anything present. Overall, not a bad final meal, but not the best. Thank you Albuquerque, I'm out.

I was pleasantly surprised by Fiesta's. I was dragged there for breakfast against my will one day, and now its me doing the dragging. The chorrizo skillet is awesome. The ranchero skillet is amazing. The tamales and enchiladas rival El Pinto for a 1/2 the price. Delicious! You'd think that serving alcohol all the time would lead to a crowd of iffy people, but its always been a happy crowd when we've gone. Its very homey. The staff makes you feel like family. Definitely some place I'd recommend

When in Albuquerque, NM I never fail to stop at Fiesta's on Carlisle Blvd. Their Huevos Rancheros are some of the best in the southwest. For lunch I normally order the 3 chicken tacos, they are delicious. Stop here when you're in town, you won't be disappointed.

Good as New Mexican food goes, don't get me wrong, but New Mexican food is plentiful around here. The waiter was super friendly, even though we had a large group. I had the fajitas and the meat was kind of tough, and they only gave me two tortillas. The guacamole didn't seem terribly fresh. The fajitas also weren't particularly warm. The other people in my group enjoyed their food; it's possible that fajitas was a bad choice. Their chimichangas were good. I will say that one of the best things, if you work nights, is that they serve a full bar all day. You can get off work and drink with your buddies like normal people - just in the morning. Definitely a possibility for that reason - but there are better restaurants in town.

This place ROCKED! Great green and red chiles; amazing enchiladas, and drink & dinner specials each night of the week! Recommend the Queso here and the beef tacos. The bar room is dark but they have a family dining room as well, that is brightly lit, even if a little outdated. Customer service was great here as the wait-staff checked on us frequently and they have clean restrooms (which is a very important test!). Will bring my family here on visits to experience true New Mexican Food!

Always a consistently tasty meal. Love the breakfasts and at lunch, the white chicken bowl over rice with fajita veggies is to die for. This is a real local place, where the staff is chosen for their wait skills and friendliness. You don't come here for the décor, that's for sure, but it's always clean.

Two words.. Booze and Breakfast! The night shift from UNMH loves fiestas for this! Beer and pancakes or any alcoholic drink and a breakfast burrito with chile and I'm happy! You'll often see this place filled in the morning with green scrubs! Food isn't anything spectacular, good though, but it's a fun UNMH hang out!

It's just ok. Their guacamole salad was made with the rotten parts of the avocado. Their green chili sauce was the only thing that I had that was really good..

Authentic New Mexican food + a sassy owner makes this one of my favorite places to take visiting friends in New Mexico. They're very busy during Balloon Fest, but normally you can get a table without much of a wait. I can't say much about their menu: the stuffed sopapillas were good enough the first time I went that I haven't ordered anything else since.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
