We dropped in today, again I'll say it they have the "best lasagna in town". I seriously love Caruso's, such an inviting and pleasant place to dine. Don't go here expecting some fancy pants Macaroni Grill or Bravo! this is a quiet home town Italian shop, the kind you might take a first date to.

This is actually 3 1/2 stars. Better than average, but modest and a little dated. Eat the lasagna, so yummy. My husband really liked his sandwich. He called it a meatball sub without the mess :-)

I still get sick to my stomach when I think about this place. This has to be one of the worst meals I have eaten in the 505. A friend took me there for dinner. I do NOT consider this Italian food on any level. I ordered Ravioli with a side salad. The salad was served in a gross looking brown bowl. There could not have been more than 2 lettuce leaves and cheese. The "Italian dressing" was super greasy and seemed like it came out of a Kroger bottle. Next, the Ravioli was simply vile!!! Upon my first bite I immediately thought I was eating dog food. What the heck was that? Meat? The smell was terrible!! My friend had the Spaghetti and his meat looked suspect too, although I don't think he spit it out. The place is dark and dingy looking. The table cloths are tacky and dirty. If you know anything about Italian food please don't waste your time on worse than Chef Boyardee!

Family-friendly place, fast + friendly service. Food is not incredible, but I'd rather eat here than Olive Garden or one of the other chain "Italian" restaurants. We were happy with our minestrone soup, pasta + meatballs, + meat ravioli, plus we had enough for lunch the next day- always a bonus.

Sadly, this was not a good experience. I went with my daughter as a spur of the moment ...."hey, let's get some Italian". To start with the place was empty when we arrived and had the feel of being old and worn out. I should have trusted my gut instinct and left at that time. To begin with the salad was the whitest iceberg lettuce I've ever seen served in one of those 'woven' wood bowls that your mom had back in the early 70's. Only these bowls have been used DAILY since then so they look really UGLY! The salad was woefully lacking and at best could be described as 'uninspired'. But I didn't stop in for the salad, I came for the Italian food! When it finally arrived, (((don't stop here if you are in a hurry....))) it looked good but tasted.....average........something was missing. I really wanted some good delicious Italian food but what I got was some good sub-par Italian food. Frankly, I could have had Stouffer's frozen Lasagna and been ahead of the game. I know this place has been there a long time but honestly, I don't know how they stay in business.

I have been going here occasionally for years. I usually stop for a quick plate of spaghetti when I'm in a hurry and want something hot and freshly cooked. Every aspect of the restaurant is modest and nothing here is award winning but the food is freshly made, served quickly and there is no fuss about any thing that is going on. The side salads are simple but fresh, soups are tasty and better for being made at least a few hours ago. The pasta is well cooked and the meatballs are OK. The red sauce is tasty and tangy with a little peppery bite. I have the feeling that they are doing the best they can and surviving in an increasingly competitive and expensive business. All I've ever had is the spaghetti and meatballs, soup and side salad. They get it done for reasonable money. Service is polite and efficient. Parking is great!

From out of town and stopped in to get some Italian food while visiting hotel Cascadia. The server was super nice. We really liked the low damn light any old school atmosphere. But this was probably the worst Italian food I've ever had. I'm pretty sure it came out of the can. Buyer beware. This place is terrible. Go to olive garden.

Incredible place to eat. Lover of Italian food and I have to say they have one of the best minestrone. Their food is incredible. First time there was on a first date and the food and atmosphere was perfect. Love the pasta and bread dishes. We now make sure to go here every time we are in the area. The people are so friendly and I cannot get over the food. Perk. Aside from food is the portion sizes they are huge and perfect. I love the colors and decor. It's like you went to old vintage Italy and say ready for meal. Garlic and happiness all in one place.

Back to the future! Everything from circa early 80s. Spaghetti, sausage sandwiches all bland without any flavor. No customers but waited 20 before ordered food. Interesting place for sure

This place needs to be on movie scout's list. it is like a time capsule. i could not find a single thing in the place aside form the cash register that dated past 1979, even the table i sat at, had a rough top. because too many tears of use had caused the surface to crumble. the menu, the placemats, the fake flowers, even the light fixtures, and fake wooden isle/booths were extreme vintage italian dive! Food was actually pretty good too, despite working in the area, i've avoided going for about 5 years, because last time the food was pretty mediocre, decided to give them another try, and while i was not bowled over, either my expectations were low or it was better. or a bit of both. the other factor that added to the vintage nature of the place was the median age of the other people there was well into the silver/blue hair end of the spectrum and i may have been the only non retired person in there aside from the busboy and waitress. #vintage #70s

One of my top choices for Italian cuisine. When I'm in the mood for lasagna I head quickly to Caruso, and order the best one in the city. They also bake a delicious pizza. It has a cozy atmosphere and an energetic and friendly staff! A must for anyone that loves the Italian fare.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
