Excellent New Mexican restaurant. Small mom and pop, a few blocks off the main drag, not far from the Sandia Tram. Went for lunch. We tried their Carne Adovada, which was VERY tender and delicious. Beef taco, chicken enchilada and it all came with fresh, HOT sopapillas and honey. Foor was so good, would have been five stars, but the poor single waitress (we think a daughter of the owners) could not keep up.

My wife and I tried this place out for the first time because of our helpful yelpers. On a Friday night at 6pm we were the only table there, but that didn't scare us off. The restaurant is cleaner than most little mom and pop Mexican places. Tables were spotless, salt and pepper shakers and honey bottle were also clean and not sticky which I find many places overlook. The decor is kind of a funky flea market type thing happening...but endearing. The food was good. Unfortunately they charge for chips and salsa but the salsa was well worth it. It was delicious and very spicy! The food itself was good but nothing too spectacular . We had enchiladas, rellenos, a beef taco and a some sopas. All the food tasted authentic and homemade. The green chile was nice and spicy and the red was good but not as hot. The highlight for us were the sopapillas which were nice and crispy and we were served two each! The rellenos were very different from what I am used to. They weren't heavily breaded or battered. They were very lightly egg-washed which was kind of a let down. If you are like me and prefer crispy rellenos, perhaps try something else. Overall the meal was good and we will likely return.

I give very high praise for this place even though they are Pittsburgh Steelers fans. I asked If I could wear my Broncos Jersey there and they agreed it would be OK. The food is awesome, the green chili has a nice kick and the sopillias are to live for! Everything is so fresh and tasty. I guess that is what you get when you open a restaurant and involve reference of GOD and all that he provides. Their sign proudly states Matthew 4:4. I will be a repeat customer.

Have been going here for breakfast for more than 20 years. The chilaquillas and chile rellenos are unique, authentic, and amazing. The chile is always spicy, not for the tender mouth. This place is consistently good, do not try to change the menu to your tastes ... family owned, reminds me of the soup Nazi scenes of Seinfeld when you ask for something special. Absolutely the best Mexican (not New Mexican) food in Albuquerque. Oh yes, and absolutely no atmosphere in a strip mall.

Pretty Good!!! The red chilie is very good and the Sopapillas are awesome!!! So good they make you want to order more. The prices are really reasonable. I had the red chilie beef enchiladas with beans and rice. The enchiladas come rolled and the beef is really tasty. I got a guacamole enchilada a la carte with red chili. This is a really great idea withthe guac! The gucamole is really good tastes just like I make at home. This place is really great for a weekend brunch or lunch. The prices are great , the atmosphere is frendly and the food tastes like you are eating in grandmas kitchen.
