Not that I'm gluten free, I miss Marta and Mamacita's Pizza! Sure wish a gluten free crust could be made and I'll be back! Maybe a gluten free day once a week?

I eat a lot of pizza, but this little place is the best I've ever had. If you are visiting the area, you owe to it to yourself to stop in. The crust is thin and perfectly crunchy/chewy and the cheese is real while milk mozzarella. I had the roadrunner with pepperoni, sausage, and green chile. It was so good we went back for dinner.

Delicious pizza!! 5 stars for that. Tiny place, eat outside at a picnic table. Mamasita was friendly and took good care of us. Will definitely go back next time we are here.

Fresh and hot pizza hit the spot after hiking Plaza Blanca. Stop by if you're traveling through the area. No indoor seating - picnic tables only.

Delicious! ...feel free read the other reviews for details, but really just read that one word and know that you should stop by there if ever you're driving through Abiquiu. It's not just good pizza for being in the middle of nowhere, it's great pizza regardless of the location.

We tried the Roadrunner pizza that has pepperoni, sausage and green chiles on it. Not only was it an excellent pizza but the green chiles gave it a great New Mexican flavor! Mamacita was very welcoming to us Floridians making this post hike lunch well worth it!

Great place for a quick bite (esp. pizza) on the way to Abiquiu. Friendly and knowledgeable owner (former New Yorker) about the area. On way to O'Keefe's house from Taos/Santa Fe.

Stopped by last week with my girlfriend after hiking at Ghost Ranch. Pizza was very good. Sat outside. This place has a lot of character. The owner ( I think she was the owner) was very helpful. Great place to stop....

We're staying nearby for a weekend getaway and this pizza was fabulous. Going to make another trip before we head back home.

After a 5 mile hike, starving and thirsty we couldn't wait any longer so we pulled over. Don't get swayed by the initial pitch (2nd best pizza in NM, blah, blah, blah). Everything after this point was downhill. We ordered our pizza and waited outside in the sun since there is no inside seating. While we were waiting we realized that we should have left our soda cans inside the building so we went inside to put the cans back in the fridge and were told "don't touch the fridge'. We then finally received our pizza which was okay if you haven't had pizza before. Tastes like any other pizza with green chilis on top. We then politely asked for plates but were denied and were told to use the pizza box. Because of her attitude and mediocre pizza, control your hunger and drive a few more miles and eat some real PIZZA!

for those of you who follow my pizza reviews, yall know i rarely give 5 stars. especially on my first try. well theres a reason this place has consistent 5 star ratings. it deserves them. im going back tonight, by the way... mamacita is a great woman. very sweet and attentive. the product is great. the crust has excellent character, whole milk cheeses, nice spiced sauce, fresh toppings. the bar next door is fun and the proprietor is friendly, so have a drink while you wait, and mamacita will call the bar when your pizzas ready! see you tonight!

The pizza is DELICIOUS!!! Be prepared for sitting outside in a very low-key environment and the owner is very pragmatic. If you're looking for an experience where you are waited on hand and foot this is not the venue for you. But, if you're looking for a delicious place to eat in the middle-of-nowhere-New Mexico, this is an awesome spot!

This place has brilliant New-York-style pizza! The owner is a real treat herself, but her pizza seriously satisfies every desire you could have when craving pizza! Set on the outskirts of Abiquiu, NM, this little place, literally just a pizza kitchen and nothing else, has massive flavor. I got New Mexico Green Chile on my pie. As a native New-Mexican, I have high standards in green chile, and this was the stuff. It wasn't as hot as I like it but it was flavorful, which, as any chile conniseur knows, is the important part. Beyond that, the pizza dough is made fresh and hand-tossed daily with an amazing sauce which is fresh-made as well. Also, the owner uses 100% Mozarella as the cheese, which is light on oils (making it a non-greasy pizza). I can't recommend this any more! I live in Santa Fe (about an hour away) and travel just for this pizza!

DEEEE-licious! And the owner was super friendly and chatted us up while we waited for her to make our pizza. Totally worth it!

The pizza at Mamacita's was great. This was our first visit and if we lived closer, we'd come back often. We are on vacation and thanks to Yelp, found this great little spot. We had a veggie pizza - and unlike many veggie pizzas, the vegetables were plentiful and good quality. The sauce was tasty and there was good cheese but not too much of it. Really delicious. The salad was just OK but very fresh. Mamacita herself was fantastic.

The pizza here is terrific!! The ingredients are quality & the service was down-home. I like this place even more because it is in the middle of nowhere, which is why I think most people visit Abiquiu in the first place. This beats any of the pizza places I frequent in Dallas. Do note, there is no indoor seating, but there are covered picnic tables outside for when the weather is accommodating. We were welcomed next door at Los Caminos Bar. Marta at Mamacita's called over to the bar when our pizza was ready & we ate our pie at the bar. Great local experience. I heartily recommend the Road Runner pizza with green chilies.

So my boyfriend and I passed this little spot on the way to Abiquiu lake. After reading other great reviews, we were tempted to see what mamacitas pizza was all about. Visiting from New York, we surely know our pizza and I have to say the pizza here really hit the spot and helped with our home sickness! We ate a large pie and my boyfriend went back and ordered a chicken parm sandwich, which was absolutely delightful. The owner is the sweetest woman and you can tell shes really passionate about the food she puts out. Overall, a great little place to check out if you're ever in the area.

Mamacita's is the place to stop for pizza. Very New York. I could taste the yeast in the dough and even though we asked for extra sauce the crust was cooked through perfectly. Sauce was just zesty enough and perfect amount of cheese. You know it's going to be good when there is very little grease dripping off each slice. Marta is a true New Mexico find. I'll let her tell you her story! But it's almost as good as her pies are. Sitting is outside only, we ate in the car, it probably looked like we hadn't eaten in weeks. This stop was the highlight of our day. thanks Marta! Sara

Owner claimed that she won the second best pizza in New Mexico award, but I think that this is probably one of the best pizzas I've had outside of Italy, NYC, or Chicago. Perfect crust and great service. Must try if you are in North Central New Mexico. We got the jumbo supreme and it was delicious.

If you cannot be in New York for pizza, this is the place to get pizza. There are also great breakfast burritos in the morning with red or green chili. And there are other things on the menu besides pizza, but I can't get past the pizza--I always order pizza.

This may seem like a really silly thing to say but this Pizza was so amazing it made me emotional. I am a Pizza fanatic having grown up in New York and New Jersey. I've been to them all. My fav Pizza place is in Brooklyn Sals on Lorimer... It was my favorite Pizza place until now. The owner was incredible and the homemade sauce equally as delightful. I have to say as a person who is the harshest of Pizza critics Grimaldi's has nothing on the Mamacita. If you are ever in Northern New Mexico DO NOT miss this glorious opportunity.

So my wife and I rented a house in Abiquiu, and we had been driving up and down US-84 past this small pizza place and we decided to stop in. Damn, the pizza turned out to be good. Since we hadn't preordered we had the opportunity to chat it up with the owner while she made our pie. 'Mamacita' was definitely an interesting character, as she told us her story on how she ended up moving back to Abiquiu from Long Island, NY. The best part of the experience was when we got back to our casita and opened up the pizza box ... the pie smelled good and tasted even better. As pizza connoisseurs, who have lived in both NYC and Chicago, the pie she made us was a force to be reckon with. If you are ever driving up US-84, try this tiny pizza joint out, and hopefully you will enjoy your pizza as much as we did ours.
