Having lived in California for over 5 years, it was great to have an "East Coast" bagel. You know, one done right. My friend, who live in the area, said that this place was their "go to" bagel/breakfast place, so I would guess it is decent by even East Coast standards. I didn't note any rude staff - they seemed to be quite patient with the 3 of us taking our time to get what we want. I was very happy with my meat/egg/cheese breakfast bagel. I also got a lox spread on pumpernickel for the flight back to California - it was an excellent snack on a long flight. I thought the coffee was even good (for a deli)!

I am obsessed with Goldberg's. I signed up for Yelp just to let the world know.

This place is deeeeelicious! I love all the bagels and I love, love, love the smoked whitefish and lox sandwich. I recommend!

Would not come back here again, sorry excuse for a sandwich there was literally maybe 4 slices of meat on the sandwich not to mention it was pricey and they also forgot the cheese not that it really matters as it would be only one slice. Anyways I would recommend steering clear of this place and going to any other deli.

I love this bagel shop! They make amazing eggs, omelets and food are really fresh & always consistently good. It's also very clean & organized with a well trained, friendly staff.

Love their whole wheat everything flagels, and they're bagels are the best around. Their nova is excellent, although very pricy. 10 bucks for 1/4 pound, but I guess worth it. Good quality fish, like the whitefish salad too. Only competition is Fairway, they make their own chunky whitefish and baked salmon salad and have great bagels, but this place is closer and never disappoints.

This is a good bagel store, prices are fair and the food is good. Also, the service is great, lines go quick and the orders are always remembered correctly. I really liked their whole wheat everything bagel, you don't see that at every store so big plus there. Miles ahead of that overpriced Ronnie's in Hillsdale. I'm now a regular, worth checking out.

I'm originally from NY and have worked in the city for several years. I've been looking for a good bagel place in NJ for a very long time, but had no luck. I didn't really expect too much when I stopped by here, because I've tried several "famous" bagel places in the surrounding areas and gotten disappointed before. I was really delighted by the quality of the food! Their bagels are top notch - it's really been a long time since I had bagels this good. My son got hooked on their breakfast sandwiches and we stop by every chance we get and order the same sandwiches. It's their bagels that make the sandwiches taste so good. They are not "friendly" but I go there for food, not for a chat, so it's fine. Although most of them don't really smile, I've never seen any staff being rude to the customers. I was surprised by the negative reviews. I thought this place would have 4-5 stars.

I'm honestly shocked by the reviews. Every time I've gone to Goldberg's, I have never had any issues with the staff behind the counter. The bagels are amazing. Plain to cinnamon raisin to everything. They also have a Hobo which is 2 eggs, bacon, cheese and a hash brown. Delicious. If I lived closer, I'd be a regular.

What a busy place! On a weekend morning, don't expect to get in and out quickly. The bagels themselves were alright and priced fairly. However when you get an order wrong with only 4 egg and cheese sandwiches, I gotta mark a lower review. Hopefully, they'll get it right if I'm in town again.

This was my first time here with my boyfriend, and one of the workers took one order only. The lady behind the counter calls "next" and I try to give my order, and she rudely cuts me mid-sentence and says "you guys order together, next!" Then she tries to talk behind my back, but I can hear her saying stuff. So I confront her, and say it's my first time here, and she lectures me on how to order. Rude! Rude! Rude! There are way better bagel places in jersey that has better customer service. Bagel is ok, but service is really bad. There are other breakfast places around the corner and Starbucks is down the street. That's where we went to get our coffee.

Well, this is a tough call between 2 and 3 stars. The food itself is actually good. The bagels are average to above average for north jersey/ny area. The problem is that at least in the new location as of July 2012, is that on the weekends, the place is completely disorganized. They have NO system for costumers orders to be taken. No number system, no signage, it's just chaos and frustration. After a mess this morning and people cutting in front of others etc, we've decided we'll just go to ronnies or celebrity bagel in tenafly until they can simply come up with a way to organize the line. Other reviewers complain about the rudeness of the workers, i can't say i've really experienced that personally but certainly wouldn't say it's a friendly place and it's not uncommon for our order to be wrong. Hopefully the owners will read these reviews and correct/introduce a line system.

I have never once received the correct order. I've tried everything... Ordering over the phone and going to pick it up, ordering in person and waiting for it, texting in my order and picking it up... Nothing works, there is ALWAYS something wrong with the order and it's always a big let down. You would think that a bagel store in business this long would have a fool proof method of making sure bags don't get mixed up. I think the bigger problem is that they don't care that they mess up people's orders. I called to complain this morning when I got a plain bagel with cream cheese instead of an everything bagel with egg and cheese. The response I got was a really lame "sorry". No offer to deliver the correct order, or a credit for next time. They are just lazy and don't care. Two thumbs down.

This is my go to place when I want to grab a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel. Its kinda pricey but right now it's the best(maybe the only) bagel shop in town. Seating currently consists of 3 bar stools and a shelf, but they are getting ready to move a few doors down so they can provide seating.

Bagels and Flagels are excellent. Breakfast sandwiches are great. I absolutely love the spicy tuna salad. Great lunch. Coffee is good also. It can get crazy busy. Good for them. Good, solid bagel place.

This place can't get an order right to save their lives. If you want bacon egg and cheese on a bagel, you'll be ok. If you want anything else, you'll get bacon egg and cheese on a bagel.

I wonder if some of the bad reviews are for other locations of Goldbergs because we both thought it was excellent. Granted we were there at lunchtime and not during the morning rush. My husband said the corn beef sandwich was one of the best he's ever had. And the prices were relatively reasonable. It's so much better than the Goldbergs where we live.

Some of the best bagels in the area, just get there early so they don't run out of the really popular favors. There can be long lines so be prepared. You won't be disappointed with the cream cheese flavors that's for sure!
