News: as of tonight, 8/8/15, they have a recording stating they are out of business. Awww. Where will I get my tortellini alla panna now?!

I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before I decided to stop into Marcello's. After a freezing evening of running errands a week or so ago, we decided to stop in for a bite. I recently moved into the area and decided to check it out. First of all, it's an adorable little pizzeria tucked into a string of mom and pop shops along the road. With the Christmas decorations, lights, and the slight flurry of snow, it couldn't have looked cozier. We walked into a small walkway with an ordering counter and were greeted by a friendly and welcoming hostess. She brought us around to the dining area and we sat in a booth in front of the window. After perusing the menu, we decided on a Margherita pizza and calamari. It was divine. The calamari was chewy but soft, crispy, and piping hot. As for the pizza, it too was so so good. Thin crusted, saucy, topped with fresh basil, and ooey gooey fresh mozzarella. I pulled a slice out and watched the mozzarella stretch from the pizza tray to my plate. It was heaven with a musical backdrop of Christmas jams. I say give this place a shot. You might just be surprised by how good it is. Also, if you don't believe me, I posted a photo of its awesomeness. Check it out.

I have to agree withe previous reviewers. The food was awful. The best part of the meal was the salad and bread. Although the calamari were cooked correctly, it was very greasy. I ordered veal whose breaking was soggy and loaded with mozzarella over a 1/2 lb of spinach with about 2 cups of soggy Vegetables.

My wife asked an interesting question. Do they eat their own food? I don't know if the sauce was burned, had curry in it, or what. No good. So when you pour it over chicken parm and pasta it makes what's underneath taste lousy. I added prego to it and it became edible.

Worst Italian food we've ever had. The review before mine nailed it. They need to taste their own food - and quick. We ordered three dishes. All three were tasteless and dry with over cooked pasta and minimal sauce which made it even worse. Salad was cheap iceberg lettuce with two tomatoes. That's it. I paid them $37.00 to throw out their food at home. Definitely won't be back here.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
