We have read the comments about this restaurant and were unsure about going, but found ourselves at Bergen Town Center tonight, so we tried it. It was after 9:00 PM, so it was not crowded. Our order was taken quickly and efficiently. The food arrived in just a few minutes - no long wait. While the restaurant was fairly empty and we had a table to ourselves, sharing a table and meeting other people is sometimes part of the fun of dining out. The burgers were cooked as we ordered (rare and medium-rare), were tasty and as good as a quick burger gets. The coffee milk shake was outstanding, thick so that we had to eat it with a spoon, and of very intense flavor. The french fries, ordered well done, were crisp and tasty. We thought the portion was quite adequate for two to share. We will definitely go back. It is more expensive than a fast food restaurant, but in our opinion was well worth it. The quality is there.

first of all, i'm a fan of this new gourmet burger trend. that said, i only like one of the burgers on this menu.. and that's not enough to keep me coming back. the napa valley burger, with goat cheese, arugula [i think], and meyer lemon mustard... it's one of the best burgers i've ever had. i'm not a huge fan of the fries, they're pretty standard.. though i love the selection of sauces they keep on the tables. service is always quick, drinks are self-serve and it's always bustling in there.. my advice, go once. maybe twice. hopefully you'll find more than one burger you feel strongly about.

Delicious burgers in a casual setting. I had the Dallas burger and we shared fries and an onion ring stack. I loved the burger which was actually cooked medium rare as I ordered it for a change. The service was fast but the food was way better than fast food. I recommend and will return when in the area again.

I had the burger of the month, the pimiento cheeseburger (which also included bacon). I liked that they asked how I wanted my burger (medium!), I didn't really expect that at a casual burger joint. The burger was really big and VERY juicy but the meat was a little lacking in taste. I suppose the toppings make up for it though. Also got a side of fries which included a pretty tasty sauce. I couldn't quite place what was in it but it was good. However, the fries are good just on their own as well. A nice thickness (I hate thin fries) and yummy potatoey goodness. I'll be back to try a milkshake and onion rings, which looked great. I should note that I ordered takeout and everything was very nicely packed; they even gave me a little pickle covered in aluminum foil. They did cover the cup of fries with foil which would've been bad if I had left them sitting too long but fortunately I started eating almost immediately.

Absolutely love the California burger! The avocado and greens are so perfect. My husband is a big fan of the Texas burger. My only complaint is that the shakes are a little overpriced, which keeps me from getting one every time I go (which is probably better for my waistline).

Very Very good! Loved the sweet potatoe fries! I had to deduct a star because they gave me a green tomato. But otherwise... Bravo Bobby!

Very impressed with the customer service in this place. What started off as a negative turned into a very big positive, due to the professional way in which the staff handled the situation. My husband and I went in late last night (around 9:30) and ordered two burgers, fries and onion rings. We sat and sat and watched everyone around us get served - we inquired and were told the burgers were coming...when it was apparent they still weren't on their way, we inquired again. The burgers showed up shortly after, followed by a full refund and many apologies for our wait. I was impressed - we weren't arguing or asking to speak with the manager or anything and they gave us a full refund, unprovoked. I've been in much "fancier" restaurants where this never would have happened (instead the manager would make excuses and offer nothing for the trouble) and I was really impressed with Bobby's. I also made a mistake and ordered a burger with something I can't eat on it. When it arrived, I told the server that it was my bad, but I couldn't eat the topping - no problem - he took it away and brought me a new burger (this time within minutes) that was cooked well, just as I requested. I enjoyed the burgers, but commented that part of the reason is because they kind of reminded me of McDonalds - not big and juicy, but a patty with a bun that really tastes like a McDonalds bun (which to me is a good thing). I couldn't take advantage of most of the toppings, so I can't truly comment on the entire product (clearly this is where they outdo McDonalds), but my husband had the blue burger and loved it. He also raved about the onion rings. I had the sweet potato fries and really enjoyed the horseradish sauce that came with them. All in all, I would definitely return the next time I'm in the area.

Paramus, New Jersey is not unlike most average suburban cities in America, its population perfectly representing mainstream working class New Jerseyans. It thus speaks volumes that celebrity chef Bobby Flay decided to open the next site of his aspring national burger chain in the upscale digs of the new Bergen Town Center. Bobby's Burger Palace (BBP) is a hybrid of both a fast food joint and a diner-style restaurant. It is a balance that is perhaps difficult to achieve and the potential for schizophrenia is distinct. While BBP is situated within the confines of the mall, adjacent to the food court, it is only accessible from the building's exterior, there is no entrance leading from inside the mall itself. There is a lack of signage in the mall indicating where BBP actually is. The building schematic still indicates that the restaurant is "coming soon" and I found no other mention of the spot elsewhere. When I did finally find the restaurant I was impressed both by the clean, uncluttered modern design and the large crowd that was amassed at the entrance way. I got there around 1 p.m. during lunch hour. The room is brightly lit, spacious and clean. A large corrugated counter undulates through the room dividing it almost in half, mirrored above by a similarly shaped light fixture. On one side there are several tables offering additional seating and the self serve soda station, on the counters other side lies the closed kitchen which one can only glimpse at through the narrow service windows. The counter is quite tall and deep and offers extremely generous space between patrons as well as plush stools, it is obvious that comfort was more important than maximizing counter space. You find a seat and put your number on the table. A server then brings you your food. The menu at BBP is broad offering Angus beef burgers, turkey burgers and chicken breast sandwiches in 10 styles as well as fries, rings, chips, milkshakes in numerous flavors, sodas and the aforementioned beer and wine. The burger styles range from the relatively familiar to the more esoteric. The Palace Classic Burger ($6.50) for example comes served with American cheese, lettuce, tomato and red onion. The Bobby Blue Burger features blue cheese and bacon and the trademarked Crunchburger ($7.50) is served with a heaping topping of potato chips and a double order of American cheese. The regionally named burgers, all priced at $7.50, are where Flay's chef background manifests itself. The Dallas Burger is spice crusted and served with coleslaw, Monterey Jack cheese, barbecue sauce sauce, and pickles, the Napa Valley Burger comes with goat cheese, watercress, and lemon-honey mustard, and the L.A. Burger is dressed with avocado relish, watercress, and cheddar.Variations on the theme are all well and good, but I always go for the basic cheeseburger to properly determine what is going on under the bun. Flay is well known for his use of the grill.I ended up ordering a Palace Classic and, out of sheer curiosity, the Crunchburger as well as fries and a vanilla malted milkshake. The food came out in a relatively timely manner, aside from the aforementioned milkshake. I was somewhat disappointed by the presentation of the Classic Burger, the top bun was rather squished and the rabbit food was sloppily strewn on top. The large leaf of lettuce had way too much stem and dwarfed the patty although I will grant that the ingredients appeared to be quite fresh. The Crunchburger looked better, a pile of potato chips seemingly floating above the patty, which positively oozed with melted cheese. Looks aside, the proof is always in the tasting, and despite my intent to try the basic burger first, curiosity got the better of me and I went for the Crunch. The sandwich stays together far better than I anticipated. The bun conforms nicely around the chips on the top and the double order of cheese cements them from the bottom. Of course there will be some shedding of chips but it is minimal. In a recent interview Flay stated "a burger should be about flavor and moistness" unfortunately the patty on the Crunchburger lacked either attribute. In fact it was overcooked. Perhaps I have understated things, it was incinerated to the point that it was utterly flavorless. The fries were OK and reminded me a bit of the ones at Shake Shack, being crinkle cut and quite crisp, but as at the Shack, they did not appear to be fresh and had a prefab quality to them. They were reasonably priced at $2.50. The shake, aside from the deflated whipped cream, was decent with a subtle malt flavor but was perhaps a bit thick. I will make a return visit in the near future because the quality of the ingredients is beyond reproach, the room is clean and spacious, and the potential for a great burger is apparent. Unfortunately, in my experience, the execution of the menu and the logistics of actually dining at BBP leave much to be desired.

Okay, I'm still not thinking I'm rushing back here for a burger, but I compared it to Kuma's in Chicago, and to be fair and for the record, after I experienced a dismal time at Kuma's because of their AWFUL service, I did have to recall that Bobby's service was GREAT! So while I just had to do a reversal on my previous rave reviews on Kuma's, I'm now giving Bobby an upgrade for terrific service, even if his burgers still need to be spruced up a bit.

The burgers are good but overpriced. I didn't care for their fries but their sweet potato fries were good. They also have some tasty sauces...ask for them and sample them all. I took my order to go. I'll be back to try other burger selections.

I'll try not to be biased while writing this...I LOVE Bobby Flay. I expected this place to be a bit different...not necessarily fancy, but not like a cafeteria style either. I wasn't a fan of the decor in all honesty. I was reminded of a cafeteria and as it was crowded I had to sit next to people I didn't know, which isn't a huge deal but can be awkward for others. When you walk in, you wait in line, order and pay at the registers and sit down. The service was pretty fast considering it was a Saturday night. The place was pretty crowded. I have to tell you...the Dallas burger was by far the best burger I've ever had in my life!!!!! SO GOOD. And the chocolate milkshake I had was pretty awesome as well. I would definitely come back here again. The only lame thing is that you have to pay for fries and the fries aren't anything amazing..just your regular fries. But the burgers...oh the burgers....so sinfully good. I wanted to eat slow to enjoy every bite but I pretty much gobbled it up. :)

Went on April 3. At 6:45 pm line was about 45 minutes long. Got my food to go. Did not get any dipping sauce. Onion rings were good. Napa Valley burger with goat cheese had no flavor. Crunch burger was way too salty. May be a slice of tomato would be a good idea. Only Bobby blue cheese burger was good. Would not probably come back .

i really dont know where to start. it is a bit pricy. an average burger for two people and order of fries for both with two drinks will run you with tip close to $40 if not a little over. shocking considering that is what you would pay for dinner for two at standard restaurant. the burgers are all themed like california or bbq so nothing real fancy. you can get any them with beef , turkey, or chicken. not to flavorful for the burger but the sweet potato fries are pretty good. the pomegranite shake is the best part of the menu. and not to mention there is only one bathroom for men and i mean one at a time bathroom, one toilet with no urinal. this place gets packed so the line will look like the ladies room after a movie lets out. dont believe the hype this place is not the top dog. if you are at the mall and hungry save yourself a few bucks and eat at the whole foods. your wallet will thank you..

overpriced but shakes are good. turkey burgers and chicken sandwich are some of the best in the area. sauces are unique. bobby flay lives up to expectations! However, $10 for a burger without a drink is a bit excessive
