After reading the reviews I decided to give this place a shot. Ordered lunch (boneless spare ribs, sesame chicken, egg roll) Egg roll was very good, I have to hand it to them but everything else was pretty damn gross. The spareribs were legitatetly just ribs with BBQ sauce poured over them. The Sesame chicken was just like any other sesame chicken from a Chinese food restaurant. (soggy, smelly). To top the entire thing off THEY DIDNT GIVE ME A FORK TO EAT THE DAMN FOOD WITH. I had to call them back and ask them to send me some ( I dont normally do something like this but I was at work so I had no choice) The lady on the phone said " Im sorry, I assumed you were a house" So just because I might live in a house you delivered to means you do not give people 1 plastic 2 cents fork in the bag to eat with? 40 minutes later he showed up with a folk and the food was already cold....

Hong Kong Garden may be the best among its peers in the Lakewood area, but I wouldn't by any means heap superlatives upon it. I have eaten from here a few times, and while a few items I've had are very good (the sauce for dumplings being one of the best I've had), others are not (the dumplings themselves, which have very chewy, thick skins and very little taste of their own). I've also had a Hot and Sour soup here which tasted and smelled like it had been made from a hobo's feet, and as though the cook hadn't even bothered to wash them first. Most Chinese restaurants have some really terrible offerings, so Hong Kong Garden is not alone in this. Usually, though, I'm able to find something excellent on the menu to offset that, and I haven't quite stumbled on to it as yet. I hope to in the future; I will keep ordering from them, because if you want edible Chinese food in this area, options are few. I'll be sure to let you know if I do.

I love ordering from Hong Kong Garden. The food is great and tastes wonderful. I love it when I can pay with my credit card by phone. Best chinese restaurant in Lakewood, NJ.

I just found Hong Kong Garden recently and Wow is all I can say... Their food has to be the best in Lakewood... I am not easily impressed with chinese food but these guys got it right, the best Generals chicken i have tasted in a long lime.... Highly recomend giving it a try!

I'm a little confused as to how to rate this place I ordered chicken chow mein (a dish with noodles) and all I got a was a giant container of chicken a vegetables upon vegetables. I mean it doesn't taste bad, I just have no idea what they gave me.
