I really was excited to try this place out, but prior yelp reviews made me wary. Unfortunately, this place was indeed disappointing, mainly because of the service. Only one of our 2 apps arrived, and the food took very long--we only ordered gyros! I must admit, the food was good. But--management and service sucks and I actually got up to wait my own table!! The guys in the kitchen all seem lost and are putzing around...anyway, my tip---order ahead and get takeout, or change this place to a self-serve.

Five second review..good food really bad and slow service...I might have to think twice if I ever want to come here again..the staff need to get their act together and get on the same page

5 stars for the gyro! The lamb was juicy and flavorful, and the Tzatziki sauce perfectly completed the very yummy pita sandwich.

Seriously yummy Greek salad and fries.

I love this place!!! First if all bc food is so yummy and sending of all its not to far n everyone loves it. I love gyros, I feel like instead of eating road size food, this restaurant provides high quality, clean n healthy food. Everytime I go here I try doesn't variety of good. Ones I got gyros or chicken pita sandwich, salad wIth gyri or chicken etc. I m betty picky about meat. I dont like chewy meat but this restaurant makes it perfect. Their shredded gyro are awesome, soft n yummy, tasty, delicious that you won't stop eating. I remember I went to the ones in hoboken n hated the meat. It was cherry n grosser but in its greek to me in Clifton they make it perfect everything's. Overall service was good too. Waiter came too take out pretty, have us change back.. and ask if hows everything going or wee need something else. I think ill deff go back again. Unlike some other restaurant I would live to go here:)

I've never been to Greece. Someday, I hope to go. I THINK this is how Greek food should taste! When I was in high school, I worked at a Greek restaurant near my home, and I sincerely loved the food. I was told that the recipes were authentic, and passed down through their family for generations. Therefore, it is my barometer for how Greek food "should be." Well, It's Greek to Me is as good as, if not better than that. I ordered the chicken souvlaki pita with a Greek salad (Greek for beginners.) Outstanding! The marinade for the chicken was perfect. The hand-made tzadziki sauce was outstanding. The salad & dressing was well balanced with just the right amount of vinegar "bite." The price was appropriate, the atmosphere was inviting, and the service was prompt & attentive. The only drawback was the knuckle-dragging troglodyte who was constantly talking with his mouth full and open-mouth smacking his food so loud I could hear it across the dining room. I don't guess that's the restaurant's fault, though. I will order again.

First time there for dinner. Will never go back. I ordered a gyro and it wasn't good at all. Two bites in my stomach just started turning Not worth the money

I saw a couple of "It's Greek To Me" restaurants in NJ and always wanted to go to one. I stumbled on to this one in Clifton and just fell in love with it. First off location is good - in the middle of the strip mall and second - they offer outdoor seating which is good for the summer! I ordered the grilled chicken entree and it was so good! The food tasted fresh and it was very filling. The restaurant has a nice chill setting - perfect for a Sunday dinner. As for the staff - they were really attentive which is always a plus.

i love this place for the life of ME! Best Food in the Area. Clean, fresh and Healthy. Owner is great too. He always gives us free dessert or extra food.

  • Sameer S.

Terrific food!!!! Owner makes sure all the tables are taken care of and the staff is on point. The meat is always fresh and never super salty. The salads are generous and you'll never get up feeling hungry. The chicken isn't very tender however all the fish is cooked fresh and doesn't seem frozen at all. My wife and I enjoy the fresh bread and taziki sauce that they bring out in the beginning. Also would def recommend the Bronzino as well as the salmon platter. French fries are to die for and the tomato sauce with the orzo is incredible. Best part is the place is BYOB!!!!!!! You really can't go wrong!

Order from here pretty often. Love the Greek fries and the chicken pita. My son loves the meatballs from here. The hummus is also very good.

So the office I work for orders lunch there once or twice a month and we spend at least $170 + well yesterday is the last time we have ordered there! for one they didn't have a delivery guy on staff as you guys advertise delivery 7 days a week which this isn't even the issue because we agreed to pick up the food.. but while ordering the guy kept asking me questions I was never asked before and kept saying "do you want to call us back when you know exactly what everyone wants" when I knew what everyone wanted and his questions did not pertain to the stuff I was ordering! it's like he was trying to get me off the phone!, finally my order was placed. Upon getting the food the guy that is upfront he is just so nasty, it's like put a smile on your face and cut out he attitude; not happy with your job sorry go find another! so we get the food and of course there is stuff missing, so I call the place and tell them so and the guy who ever is the one that answered says " so, what do you want me to do about it ?" are you kidding me ?!!!? like I said we will NEVER order from this place again! get yourself some new staff members!

Great location, small outdoor seating, very clean location with comfortable music playing in the background. The service is usually fantastic, however we arrived during a shift change so there was a small understandable lag. We started with their version of a spinach and artichoke dip that was only ok. Slightly bland with a stronger lemon finish. It wasn't very aesthetically pleasing either, the spinach was appeared slightly overcooked and not a crisp vivid grren. I had the gyro gyro made with shaved beef and lamb. They have beef and chicken gyro as well. It was pretty good, the meat could've used a little more seasoning, however the lettuce and tomato were very fresh and delicious. It came with the side salad which was outstanding!! The best item I've ever had here. All of the ingredients were very fresh, bright, and crisp. The dressing was light simple, the perfect accompaniment. Overall a good experience and I highly recommend their house salad and dressing.

I love Greek food & despite this being a chain restaurant I must say I prefer their food over other mom & pop Greek restaurants in my area!

Always an enjoyable experience! My husband and I wanted a healthier easy meal the other night, so we opted to dine at It's Greek To Me. We ordered the hummus (served with pita bread) as an appetizer and shared it. It's so fresh and delicious! We ordered the Small Greek Salad with Grilled Calamari to share for our entree. Do not be deceived that it's the "Small" salad. This salad is large enough for two people to share. We were stuffed when we left here. The grilled calamari here is amazing. It's cooked perfectly. This restaurant is also BYOB. We didn't bring a bottle this time, but definitely will in the future. We will be back often!

  • Diana A.

This place is absolutely aweful. The meat is very hard and the chicken too. Hummus is to liquid and the seafood badly prepared. Carbonated water was Over priced. Terrible

  • Marilen R.

Given all the other restaurants in the promenade, It's Greek To Me usually gets ignored like a poor middle child. However there is a valid reason. The food is decent but the other local Greek restaurants in the area are much better (i.e. Sofia's, Stamna). It seems the prices have gone up too since i've last been here. The dishes I have liked in the past are: 1)Pork Souvlaki platter which comes with fries but I have gotten it with rice too. The pork is not too dry and has a nice grilled flavor. 3)Gyro Pita - big sandwich with lots of toppings 2) Mousaka- the portion is a good size and a very filling dish with the eggplant, potato and ground meat. At my most recent visit I strayed and ordered the Grilled Seafood platter which comes with shrimp, calamari, and octopus plus some grilled veggies and rice. From the first look of the impressive dish, i was excited to dig in but as I ate bite after bite I become less interested. The best was the shrimp which was cooked well but the calamari and octopus were not exactly the fresh catch of the day and were overcooked. So in conclusion, i would stick to Souvaki and go elsewhere for seafood.

  • Beef M.

Great lunch special, otherwise overpriced. I would have ordered the assorted dip appetizer, usually a favorite of mine at greek places, but not for 19$. I went here twice, got grilled shrimp salad, it was good, zesty. Second day I got the spinach pie.. The filling was good but the filo was very dry and tasted like paper. Greek salad it came with was very good. Also got lentil soup, that was not very good.. it reminded me of a vegetable soup base, very brothy, not what I was hoping for. All-in-all, would go back for lunch, but not my favorite.

I guess I must've been hungry last time I tried this place for pick up it isn't that great so pricey for the quality and amount of food

We came here for dinner and left with the worst experience of my adult life. As mentioned in previous comments and reviews the waiters are terrible, the soda flat, the manager or owner was very unprofessional. There was a homeless woman and her son (who has a scoop of ice cream the size of his head in his hands) asking for money and bothering all the patrons outside then they come in past two waiters who are just standing by the door and come to our table inside the restaurant while we are eating. We decline obviously I thought I was in some third world country. I then tell the waiter while I'm paying my bill that why would you let people come in and disturb your guest. He says he will let his boss know. The boss gives her $10 and endorses this solicitation. After we leave the manager aproaches me and starts verbally abusing me a paying customer that I have no right to say anything and that he is helping them. This guy doesn't know a thing about the restaurant business. This place should be recalled "it's bums to me".

    (1)
  • Nirali C.

The worst experience ever!! Not so much because of the food but the owner. He is an obnoxious man! We were there to enjoy dinner with our friends and then we see this woman who he not only let's in to beg for money to his paying customers who are trying to enjoy dinner but starts an argument when we voice an opinion about this. As paying customers we didnt need to get harassed by a woman and his son who by the way was eating ice cream while begging for money. He comes after us once we paid the bill and starts an argument on the sidewalk outside the restaurant in fornt of his other customers! I have never seen anything like this my entire life! This is ridiculous! Will never ever go back to this place. And if anyone wants to get harassed and insulted by the owner should definitely go here!

  • Brianna M.

Definitely some of the best service you'll get anywhere in Clifton ! the Owner is always friendly and accommodating as well as the staff , and the food is fresh and delicious ! Definitely a good choice if your in the mood for something different.

First time having greek food so I was a bit scurred. We ordered a Giro with lemon fries and it was fantanstic! Place is clean, prompt service and nice staff.

    (4)
  • Gina N.

I'm giving this location 5 stars. Great service and food. They do not nickel and dime the customer by charging extra if you ask for more hummus or pita like other places. The portions are just the right size and the place has good square footage with outside seating available.

  • Tracey R.

I love it's Greek to me in ridgewood. My Clifton experience could not be more different. The service was inattentive, slow.... Very poor. We all agreed on that. My friends ordered the grilled salmon lunch and were very pleased with their food. I had been looking forward to my grilled seafood, a far more expensive dish that is not on the lunch menu. It was so very different from the dish i had enjoyed at the ridgewood restaurant. There was more food but it was awful. Had my server actually come over, I'd have sent it back. Maybe he was in hiding because I could not get him back to our table for another 40 minutes. I brought the dish home with me hoping my brilliant husband could salvage it. He could not. Chewy and fatty with over cooked rice. Had it just been a bad dish with great service, I'd go back. Bad service alone is sufficient reason to never return to that location. I'll drive the distance and battle the parking and go to the ridgewood location.

  • Tiffany T.

Ordered a chicken pita sandwich meat was extremely chewy and fibrous. I only managed to salvage two pieces of chicken from the whole thing that were edible. Honestly the worst Greek I have ever had.

    (2)
  • Monika D.

Pricy, but BYOB helps. The lemon oregano fries really are the only thing getting me through the door. Speaking of which, good luck getting through that door! This place is busy! The second time I ever attempted to eat here we had to sit outside. It was chilly, starting to rain, but no one else sitting outside seemed to mind so I decided to focus on the fries in my future and be patient. Finally, I had to flag someone down for menus and picked what I was going to order (fries, of course!). Then waited for the server. And waited. And waited. And left. Don't really see myself coming back to It's Greek To Me any time soon. But damn, I miss those lemon oregano fries.

It's Clifton, NJ not Astoria, Queens so have to turn down expectations. Pretty decent for the area and BYOB.

  • Rasha A.

I came here once with a few friends and we loved the food. I personally think this is the best one I've been too! Great staff, food came out pretty fast and the place was spotless. Owner is a very nice man who seems to really care about his customers!

  • Mahmoud S.

Always Delicious! I take all of my business lunches here and the experience is all great. I never had a bad meal here, the food is always fresh and top notch. The fish dishes are a little expensive but definitely worth it. The lunch menu is a great deal.

  • Julio M.

5 stars for the chicken gyro! Can't get enough and that's the honest truth. Outdoor seating is a plus.

    (5)
  • Carla S.

Absolutely disgusting. Ordered the roasted chicken with rice and string beans. I got overcooked/old rice, a slop of canned string beans with some tomato sauce and dried up chicken. Even after I specifically stated no tomato sauce, it left a lot to be desired. Never going back.

  • Adam D.

This is what happens when you order food at Greek to me. It's so good we never have left overs.

    (5)
  • Kristi B.

The food here is fantastic and the service is excellent. The Grilled Feta is a must! Their Baklava is the best I've ever had - and I've had a lot of Greek food!

    (5)
  • Diana W.

Although Greek food is 1 of my favorites and I can get greek food at various locations its greek to me in Clifton has to have the worst manager and customer service. I will never order from there every again I will go out of my way to find a new place just not to eat there.

    (2)
  • Stephanie G.

this place never disappoints. service is always great, food is always cooked fresh to order and the owner is a sweetheart! I love that it's so close to me and frequent it often. Their chicken souvlaki, tzatiki, eggplant salad, greek salad and baklava are my favorites but i've had no complaints about anything else. Their pita is the best ive ever had, no greasy like alot of other places.

    (5)
  • Sam M.

Been here a few times. Its good food, nothing out of this world though. I order the pasticio. Its nice. Not a five because its just good food, not incredible in experience or taste, just good.

  • Peter K.

Great food, great atmosphere, great location. This new location is very well decorated and with that and the music you really feel like you are in a authentic Greek restaurant!! The food is always hot and fresh and reasonably priced. The staff is very accommodating and helpful with the menu. They are always on top of everything and make sure that you are having a good time and enjoying the food.

  • Donna P.

I did not expect much given the fact that it is a chain Greek restaurant. I had actually tried it's Greek to Me in Livingston a few years back and was disappointed. I was told this one is different as they are all independently owned and operated. The grilled octopus is amazing and the spinach pie is second to none. The hummus might be the best I have ever had. It is addictive, served with warm pita bread. Salads are so great. Service is always pleasant and THE PRICE IS RIGHT.

  • Philip H.

Four and one half stars. I love this place. Everything is incredibly fresh and simply prepared. The decor is casual but tasteful. The staff is always on point and the service is quite fast. I actually prefer "It's Greek to Me" over more expensive and well reviewed Greek restaurants such as Stamna. When we dine as a family of 4 to 5 we typically order a large Greek Salad for the table. Always excellent. Then we split the appetizer sampler, Pikilia. Tip: It's a bargain. It has a more than a little bit of everything. I especially like the Greek Humus, Revithosalata. If we are extra hungry I'll order the grilled Octopus to split as an extra appetizer. Always fresh. The portions are very generous. So by this point we are all usually feeling quite full. But we always seem to manage to find room for our entrees. This time I ordered the grilled Bronzini. Lightly seasoned and very fresh. The chef did an excellent job filleting this typically difficult to fillet fish. It was served with Spanakorizo. Delicious as well. My wife and son loved their classic Gyro platters. I have been to It's Greek to Me several times an I look forward to going back again. Great!

  • Claudia G.

I like this place. However the service is very very slow. The times I had gone it hadn't been busy however it takes forever to get the food. One time our waiter started eating his lunch and when he finished we got outlet order Really!!! But the food it great. It BYO so it great

    (3)
  • Sara K.

I heard from a friend that their octopus is amazing so I went to try it and it really was amazing! The manager and workers were so kind and the restaurant was clean and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. I will definitely be back again!!!

So the plan was to sit outdoors with 3 of my girls, but since Mother Nature doesn't care about anyone, it turned out to be a rainy day. The four of us had to sit inside of the restaurant, which did have nice decor with some Greek music playing softly. It's BYOB, which is always a ++++++ plus! Pinot grigio wine, check! Bucket of ice, check! One of my friends had been here before and advised that the servings were huge. So I went with a small Greek salad with chicken skip the olives. She was right; a small salad was more like a large salad. I was only able to eat half of it. We had also shared an app of pita bread and one of the yogurt dips. They brought us extra pita bread! All in all the food was very fresh. The waiter was a nice guy, always made sure to fill up our glasses with water and checked up on us throughout our stay. I would like to go back again on a sunny day and eat outside.

  • MJ M.

This is my first favorite restaurant in clifton. The food is always fresh and service is always good. I always always get the salmon salad and lentil soup. They also started delivering much recently!

    (5)
  • Maryanne C.

This is a great "go to" place to have lunch with friends. The service is always great, plus they don't have a problem if you want to sit and talk after a meal, which is so nice not to feel rushed. The food is good. I love their fresh beets plate, very fresh. And the vegetarian pita is delicious and filling. The tables are nicely spaced out and they never seat you on top of someone else -- unlike other restaurants that seat people all in one area. Even if it's a year later, I always come back :)

    (4)
  • Steph S.

Food was decent but the service was horrible. The wait for food was pretty long considering that we were the only table on the place. The waiter barely spoke to us, never came to check on how we were doing. He sat at a table behind us and played on his phone the entire time, we had to have another waiter help us with our check since our waiters text messages were more important than his customers. I will not be back.

    (1)
  • Lori K.

I love the interior design, lighting, and ambiance - very casual and relaxing. The service was pretty average ... but the food was excellent! I would definitely come back.

I've been on a diet need a chain place with health food. U can't beat the price and the food it so fresh and awesome .

    (4)
  • Davis -.

Overpriced, no desserts, lamb platter was hard as rock. You are pretty much overpaying for the good tasting pita bread and Fries.

    (1)
  • Tasha L.

Every time I've come here the chicken was tough and over cooked while the gyro was pretty good save the consistent stale pita. I wish it were fresh id go way more often. No deserts here either which is a shame because that's a great part of Greek food. Staff always helpful and consistent.

    Meh.

  • Tyler L.

Good, huge size gyros will give you garlic breath, bit leave your wallet full. Go for lunch for the gyro specials which are still huge but cheaper. They have a healthy amount of meat and tons of tzatsiki sauce and will give toy garlic breath but are delicious. The staff is a bit surly, but quick and fairly attentive.

    (4)
  • Anabela S.

Ate here with my sister tonight. Loved it! Wait staff was very friendly. Service was quick. Food was delicious. Portions are very generous! Will definitely be back! Had small Greek salad. Saganaki. A gyro and lamb souvlaki. Took home extra pitas and baklava for later. :-).

  • Jill L.

I'm not sure why people head to It's Greek To Me when there are so much better places for local Greek food???? Sure, it's convenient if you've been to the movies at Clifton Commons but hey, drive five minutes west on Rt.3 and you can choose between Greek Taverna in Montclair or Stamna in Bloomfield. There's nothing wrong with the food at It's Greek except that it is over-priced, the atmosphere is much more diner than restaurant and the parking is a pain. Take my word and try either Greek Taverna or Stamna!

    (2)
  • Stephanie T.

The salmon lunch special is amazing. 10.95 and you get a huge piece of grilled salmon. Has be at least a 10 oz filet. As a previous employee of bonefish grill, I know fresh seafood pretty well, and this salmon was definitely fresh. It was cooked to perfection, juicy, and lightly seasoned. They served it on a bed of rice with a Greek salad. The Greek salad also came with a dolmade which was delicious! You just can't go wrong if you're looking for a fairly priced and exceptionally satisfying lunch.

    (4)
  • Yanzi C.

Tasty and good value. Highly recommend the steamed mussels.

    (5)
  • Shana G.

Food is great, especially the meal for two! The place is very small but delicious and don't forget to bring your own wine because its a BYOB place.

Obsessed with their Greek salad and Greek fries. Everything I've had there is great and is very fresh.

My wife i have been going to this place since the opening last year. From the moment we set foot we knew that this would be our new spot. The inside decor gives a feeling of being in Mykonos with its white and blue wall house paintings along the wall; a very relaxing atmosphere. The food is very good as we have tried pretty much everything on the menu. My favorites are the Lamb Kokkinisto, half roasted chicken, lamb souvlaki and their whole fish specials are always made perfectly. My wife always gets the grilled chicken Greek salad. It is very good and very very tasty. For apps i would highly recommend the grilled feta.. i know i know.. its just griilled feta.. but it is soo good. Actually anything with feta rocks at this place as the cheese tastes very very fresh. Of course the dips are amazing as well as is their tzatziki sauce. I usually always start my meal with the lentils soup. Besides my wife's (have to say this), i have never had better. The staff is always very welcome and so friendly. We have got to know alot of the staff including the servers Jose and Orlando and must say they always do a top job to make sure you are comfortable and satisfied with your meal. The owner Maury is a great man. Really relaxed and laid back. After going there so much and seeing our faces he made it a point to come say hello to us at our table one night. We have been friends since. They really make you feel like family here. I see alot of people complaining about prices on here. To be honest i think the prices are more than fair. The food is excellent and it is a bring your own. You cannot go wrong.

I work in the area and pick up dinner here a few times a month. Their food is delicious and everyone is friendly. The Greek fries and gyro pitas are delicious, and the salmon entree is incredible.

  • Keith B.

worst Greek place. the Pastichio was dry the place was a rip off.

    (1)
  • Sharon M.

It's overpriced to me. My spinach pie was burned and flavorless. The chick pea dip had zero flavor, could they spare a little garlic or lemon juice? The caviar dip was disgusting, it tasted like salty mayonnaise. My Greek salad had too many white onions, red onions are more appropriate for a cold salad. The pitas were good. Service was fine. This place used to be much better. It's not worth the price.

    (2)
  • Bob K.

    Excellent lunch!!! Plus friendly staff!

    (5)
  • Billy P.

Overpriced for what it is. But the pita sandwich was as big as my head and quite good. I suggest just getting one order and splitting it. Nothing life changing, though. I asked the waiter what soda they had and he listed off like 10 drinks but no sodas. Weird.

  • Bart S.

First off- I really like Greek food. This place is solid- I will admit it is a bit pricey, but their food is excellent. My wife and I went to Jersey City location many times, but the one in Clifton is just as good. Their Greek salad is just terrific, I also like their lamb as well. The service is good and I also like their pita bread that they serve. The tzatsiki sauce is very tasty, I like their gyro and my wife loves their souvlaki;) I do recommend this place-Greek food is just so good;)

  • Siv L.

Have been here several times for lunch with colleagues. The lunch specials are great but I'm writing this review to rave about their Greek fries -- they are SO DELICIOUS. They're seasoned with oregano and a touch of lemon. I usually am too full to be able to eat all of them but somehow I find a way! They are just that good!

    (4)
  • L. B.

Good food but it's overpriced. A $15 platter comes with basically nothing but a couple tomatoes, a few leaves, one olive and if you're lucky, a piece of feta crumble. I thought Greeks love to feed you? They definitely stinge here. We also ordered a side of spinach rice and this side cost TEN DOLLARS. C'mon, really? It's not Manhattan but they certainly charge Manhattan prices. Two people = $50 for lunch...overpriced to me but does have friendly waiters.

  • John M.

I've been to a few other It's Greek to Me locations and this is by far the best one. Great service and amazing food. They have the best hummus I've ever had and I've had hummus in many other restaurants. Their Greek salad is also delicious. I usually get the Chicken Souvlaki platter which is my favorite thing on the menu. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. If you love Greek food, this is definitely a must!

  • Christina S.

They finally opened this place in the ghost town they call the "Clifton Promenade Shops." We were hungry one day so we decided to give it a try. Soon after you sit down they begin stuffing pitas down your throat (good thing). Shortly after, you get an appetizer. In my case, I got the spanakopita. That was huge. It's a whole meal in itself. So after I finished that, they bring me more pitas. I really like pitas, but having so many of them was such a stuffer. I ordered pork chops and they were very good. I left very satisfied. The waiters were also very attentive. They kept coming back to our table frequently, asking if we needed anything, if every thing was okay, and of course to bring us some more pitas. I will add this to my list of regular places.

Greek salad to die for - really large portions that you can share. Nice staff - would visit again.

  • Michelle M.

i stop in every so often for a gyro and they are delicious but on one occasion i decided to order something else as well so i ordered SPANAKORIZO (spinach rice). The container it was packaged in (i took it to go) leaked all over the bag and when i finally tasted it it was really underseasoned and the rice was a super mushy. the dish is kept warm on a steam table and is swimming in liquid which results in over-cooked rice. I felt like i totally wasted my money on that dish and for now i will stick with the gyro.

I'll start with the obvious, this is a chain and not the most authentic Greek food I've ever had. However, the food is consistently good. We've tried many dishes there and have never been disappointed. Everything is tasty and fresh. The servers are attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is pleasant. This is the only BYOB restaurant in this shopping center, which is always nice. We'll definitely be going back again and again.

Good food and good service, but overpriced. I'm a big fan of the Mediterranean Steak Salad, the gyro platter, the grape leaves, and their desserts.

Was It Just An Off Night? We have visited this restaurant more than a dozen times - and it has always been an enjoyable experience. But we have been noticing a slow decline in the quality of table service and the food. Last night's visit, we hope is an exception and not the beginning of a downward trend. The restaurant was half full when we arrived for dinner. We were given a table close to the front door. It was cold out and every time the door opened, we got a thrust of cold air. I had to get up and close the inner door TWICE! The people sitting next to us thanked me. They were really cold too. The owner noticed we were cold and moved us to another table. Nice gesture. However, even from our new table, every time the door opened, the temperature inside would drop considerably. To fix this problem was probably a simple thing to do - the inner door was not closing properly. We ordered dinner and for some reason it took a long time to get our meals served. I ordered the GYRO Platter with extra onions and no lemon on the fries. (I never got the extra onions.) My wife ordered a salad with shrimp. The shrimp were small and over cooked. (That was a first.) Throughout dinner, no one came by to ask us how we were doing, to fill up our glasses of water or... When it was time to pay the check, the owner asked me how everything was and I told him that most of the meat for my GYRO Platter was burned, over cooked and dried out. I showed him that I did not eat most of the meat on my plate. He said he was going to "yell at someone in the kitchen". That was his answer. He said or did nothing else to make me feel better about my lousy dinner and experience. We paid our bill and left. My wife got sick during the night and we think it was from the shrimp she ate - but of course, there is no way to prove it! Overall, we hope the restaurant was just having an off night and we are willing to give it the benefit of doubt. But if we see other reviews similar to ours, this could be the last time we visit this restaurant.

Pork was very tough, but the fries were good.

I am not seeing what is so great about this restaurant . It was not a bad meal the spinach pie was great but the greek salad was nothing to write home about. Not enough cheese, too many onions, grape leaves were not that great. Also the chick pea dip was very blane to say the least. If you want greek go with an authentic place.

it's ok. i ate the pastachio, which is pretty much larger penne pasta with ground beef that's been ovened. it was not very delicious. I could make hamburger helper that costs 50 cents and still tastes like a $15 meal that they charged. The other foods looked good, the ones that my friends got. I should have stuck to the basics of greek food.

We eat here quite often. Place is great. consistent and the prices for lunch specials are very reasonable. The owner is a charming guy who treats everyone like family. I have to laugh at the reviewer who calls hummus "chick pea" dip.

Went for lunch and sat outside on a beautiful day. Their outside seating is right next to the parking, so it can get noisy. The location is a new strip mall with decent stores and eating joints. I ordered the Souvulaki in a pita lunch special which came with fries. The souvulaki was good with a tasty tzaziki sauce, and fries were to die for. I love the Greek fries that have a yum lemon and herbs flavor, and they hit it right out of the ballpark with the fries. My friends ordered the spankopita, lamb gyro, greek salad and lentil soup. Everything was quite tasty, but I do think the prices are on the higher side. The service is ok, and could do with a little speeding up during the lunch rush.

I went to try this place to see if they're as good as my fav Greek restaurant. Sadly, it is not. I had the chicken pita and it wasnt' bad but I've had better and when I've tasted something better it's hard to deter from that. I think the tzaziki was overwhelming the sandwich. Honestly I've tasted better from a vendor than this place. I think it was in a festival. If you like good tasting Greek food, go to Greek delights in montclair. I think they're the best. I've tasted Greek in so many other states and there's nothing compare. On a good note, I did like their pita with bean dip starter but that's about it.
