We absolutely LOVED Prairie Plate Restaurant which the owners describe: "The kitchen is inspired by the area's farmers and artisan food producers. Our menu will change periodically based on availability from our producers." Prairie Plate Restaurant is a nice drive North of Lincoln sandwiched between greenhouses and a beautiful pond. Chef Renee has traveled the world and has mastered a delicious array of food utilizing what is fresh and available. Friends of mine nearly chewed on the bones after eating the pork chop with rhubarb sauce. As a vegetarian, I found the greens & quinoas pie with roasted Chioggia and golden beets to be excellent. Another in our party raved about the grilled Kofte (lamb). First course teased us with roasted baby beet greens and chevre and various crostini with quark or chive butters. We finished with rhubarb tarts and Tres Leches cake. Renee even gave us a guided tour of her kitchen after we walked by the pond. We would love to keep this restaurant all to ourselves, but it is too good to be true. You'll have to visit for yourselves. Reservations are recommended (402 786 2239).

Outstanding in almost every way. Wonderful location, dining room is comfortable with great views, and the service is way above average. Local and high quality ingredients, and a chef who knows how to handle them, makes for superb cuisine. I would recommend any of the pasta or vegetarian entrees. The meal could be improved by adding a bread or cracker basket, and some wall coverings would tone down the sound - it got a bit noisy with a couple of large parties.

This place is serene and breathtakingly beautiful. The food is creative. Service was great. I had the smoked brisket and it had amazing flavor. My husband had sausage dish that had interesting spices. We enjoyed the food and hope to be back soon. This is a gem and a place you could sit outside for hours overlooking their private small lake.

The country setting was beautiful. Menu was enticing, wine list excellent, service attentive, portions reasonable. I had the chicken cutlet which was very good, as was my tomato salad. My husband felt his ham was a little on the thin/dry side but, overall, we loved our dining experience. Lakeside view was peaceful. Wished we could have dined outside but their liquor license does not accommodate that yet (?).

Great food. Amazing location. If you have not tried this out of the way gem, get there soon! Italian Sausage was amazing. Locavore Pasta was excellent as well. Great service and the waterfront view was beautiful.
