My wife picked this place on a whim. I was not expecting much after I heard the name, but i was surprised. We first walked in I kind of wanted to walk back out, it is a standard local bar, noisy and kind of greasy looking. I figured what the heck, give it a try. They do not have much more than the basic big three beers. I ordered a Sierra Nevada. My wife wanted to try the calamari (I know, she is a brave woman) as an appetizer. The waitress said the steaks were the best. So I ordered the 16oz Ribeye medium rare, my wife ordered the grilled chicken breast. The calamari that came to the table was not something that I recognized as calamari. They were sticks that looked kind of like cheese sticks. They looked safe so I grabbed one and it was good, not calamari, but good. They were a surimi stick breaded and deep fried. Very good and fresh. As they brought out our very fresh chilled salads I saw the chef pull pull out a whole vac pack rib roast and I got really excited. My steak was brought out hot and perfectly cooked and seasoned. My wife's chicken was equally fresh and tasty. Our food was so good that I felt compelled to send the chef/cook a beer. Overall I am really glad that I did not let the first impression scare me away, and I would definitely go back when we are back in the area.

I am shocked there are not more reviews of this place. I guess considering this place has been around for 30 years and I just found it-I guess maybe I shouldn't be all that surprised. It was very busy with all the tables full on a Saturday night-so maybe people are keeping this little gem to themselves. I loved walking into this old building that maintains it's old town front (Building founded in 1906)-and while I found the atmosphere inside to be a bit sterile and too open (think many of the small town eatery/bars you have eaten in) I understand the need for it. It is not a bar I would come pony up to and hang out at inside. Now, I will be going to this bar and hanging out just for drinks with friends on their gorgeous and expansive fenced in beer garden. I was here in January of course-but this looks to be one of the best beer gardens I have seen in town. Looking over the menu and I kept being shocked by the reasonable prices and then looking at the food coming out of the open kitchen. I had to check again to make sure this wasn't a lunch menu with different prices. It was not. I ordered a cocktail, a normal cheeseburger (I saw some burger creations coming out of the kitchen that looked pretty good and large) and the steak fries. Drink was fine, burger was good sized and had a quality bun on it that was not dry, burger was hand patted and seemed to be quality meat. Tasted very good-especially for the price. Steak fries were excellent-just enough crisp, not seasoned, and hot and soft on the inside. Service was good and attentive enough. Nothing over the top-our waitress was casual and we got our food in good time. So-I got a cocktail, a good sized quality burger and steak fries at this sit down bar and grill for under a ten spot. That is quite the deal in my book. I will be returning here for both food and the beer garden in the future.

Went here yesterday to try the prime rib, and I was not disappointed. It was cooked to perfection. The venue was quite nice, couple of loud customers, but that can't be helped. I also got to try the pork tenderloin, and I have to say that it was pretty darn good as well. I will definitely be returning to brownies in the very near future

Much better than your average bar food, onion rings are the best I've ever had. Service is always good, but inside atmosphere is lacking. Patio is a great option in the warmer months.

Had prime rib sandwich and fries...fries were good...prime rib sandwich was horrible and tasted like cardboard...going home to get sick now.

Based on the recommendations on yelp a co-worker and I came here for lunch. I ordered the prime rib and have to agree that it was done really well. It was perfectly medium rare, the au jus was tasty and not overly salty and the horseradish had a kick. It was a lot of food for an excellent price. The only sides it comes with are a potato and buttered toast. I would've preferred more vegetable options but for a once in a while caloric spurge it's definitely worth it. Also the service is quick and very friendly.

On a clear, sunny day with a slight breeze, some people think the perfect activity is getting out on their bikes, or taking a walk, or doing some yardwork. Hells no...not for this girl. If given the choice, I'm maximizing my perfect day by spending a few hours on a decent patio somewhere with some friends, a cold bev or two in hand, and a not-so-light lunch. Brownie's is not your ultra-lounge, puffy-outdoor-furniture, dress-to-impress kind of establishment. It's casual. It's laid back. It's borderline divey, but in Papillion, so I'm not sure if divey is even possible in the 'burbs. Overall, the food is pretty standard bar fare (gigantic nachos with never enough sour cream or toppings; buttery, toasted reuben; iceberg lettuce salad you should never order). However, I DO love the fact that you can get a side of deep fried tater tots that remind you of school lunch (c'mon, you know you harbor a secret love for it). And, if you're one of my pals who grew up in a small town drinking Busch Lite, well, you can order that too seeing as how I never have that particular flavor available in my own home and force you to make do with craft beers and micro-brews. If ever near Papillion, make a stop and don't forget to observe the speed limit.

I've been in Brownie's before, but only with a beer in my hand after a softball game or before Papillion Days. We decided last Friday night to give Brownies a go for some food. Couldn't have been more surprised at the quality of the prime rib. It was very well cooked and very juicy. However, don't order it and hope for some veggies on the side unless that veggie is a potato. Beer was cold and the service was good.

I never thought I would recommend ordering prime rib from such a dive bar, but here I am. I did not expect much, but it was surprisingly delicious. Juicy, flavorful, tender, and pleasantly affordable at $13.50 for a 12oz cut (with baked potato and texas toast). You simply can't beat that! If you are not in the mood for steak they can hand-make you a pork tenderloin sandwich that will also blow your mind. Most people associate a pork tenderloin sandwich with a frozen breaded patty straight off the Aramark truck dropped into hot grease, but the one Brownie's will prepare you is just like your Grandmother used to make. The service was stellar once they noticed me, and there is a real neighborhood feel to this location . There's no doubt that Brownie's is something of a hole in the wall but I am telling you the food is damn good - an ideal candidate for a visit from Guy Fieri! Note that the kitchen here is CLOSED on Sundays.

Kind of a hole in the wall bar off of 84th Street in Papillion. Open concept in a very old building that is a bit dark and smells of stale smoke and beer. Pool tables, dart board, couple arcade games and keno......oh and a fairly roomy beer garden out back. Went for a late lunch and got there just before the grill shut down (Grill closes at 2pm). Server was very friendly and made you feel right at home. Prices on the menu are pretty reasonable. Prime Rib sandwich and ribeyes were the lunch specials today. We got the BLT and Brownies Big Burger (bacon, mushrooms, onions, two types of cheese, lettuce, tomato) and a side of onion rings (these are extra). Normal sides are fries or tator tots. Both sandwiches were good. My wife said she would go back just to eat the BLT. My burger was decent and the portions were large. Onion rings were good, but could use some more seasoning. Total for our meals and drinks was around $17.00. Not bad. if you are in the neighborhood, stop in and try it out...let us know what you think.
