I've shied away from Wendy's recently because the burgers just weren't very good lately. I'm not sure if it was just this particular location or all Wendy's but they just weren't as tasty as they used to be. After reading that they recently made changes to their burgers, I decided to give it another try. The changes include thicker patties, extra cheese, crinkled pickles, red onions, no mustard, and a buttered bun. The first noticeable change was that the burger was served half wrapped in a tray with half of the burger exposed. It's designed so that you can pick it up out of the tray and eat it without having to unrwap it. The burger looked slightly larger and the extra slice of cheese was nice. I have to admit that the burger was better than it has been recently. It may be comparable to what it was. The biggest difference I noticed was the bun. It tasted pretty good and it was pretty sturdy which I like. I'm still not a big fan of their new sea salt fries but the revamped burger now called Dave's Hot N' Juicy will get back me there a little more often. While the new burger is better McDonald's and Burger King, I still prefer Culver's, Runza, and Smashburger. Give it a try and see what you think.
