I don't typically love your average pizza place. I want to order from somewhere with goat cheese or artichoke as topping options. However, sometimes you just need plain old pizza - like the night we were putting together my $^*&ing bookshelf. Fancy pizza wouldn't do. So, I called up Valentino's, having recently had their pizza at someone's house. It hit the spot. But, I couldn't hand out more than 3 stars to a regular pizza delivery joint/chain. If I'm ever in need of pizza delivery of this kind, I'll call up Valentino's again - and I'm sure I will be. But, it's a delivery only kind of pizza for me.

My husband's family is from Nebraska...this is the only pizza place in my opinion to go to out there for pizza (need to qualify that). Lincoln stadium has an entire kitchen for Valentinos we learned on our last trip. Unlike the pizza in the east, their crust is more of a flaky, Chicago style crust, then the New York style chewy thin crust. But THE pizza, the only pizza to get, is the Cheeseburger Bacon Pizza (and therefore the 5 stars)- literally tastes like a bacon cheeseburger. We usually get off the plane in Omaha, and head straight to a Valentino's to get a pizza to snack on the drive up to Lincoln. I'm catching up on reviews, and pizza seems to be my theme today, but this one stands out. Their regular hamburger pizza is superb also. For treats, we order some every couple of months and have them overnighted to us. This is a pretty regular thing for them, as they have a website dedicated to ordering flash frozen parbaked pizzas. If you want the Bacon Cheeseburger one though, you have to call in. The pizza has pickles, lettuce and a ketchupy sauce that can't be duplicated. Their buffet as a side note is really good.

First time here, Buffet style. Seems to get pretty busy. Pizza wasn't that great, frozen crust, Other items to choose from if your not into pizza, which i think is a good idea. Wont be back.

Customer service was horrible. The representative that took my phone call, for delivery, did not appear to be concerned with customer satisfaction whatsoever. The flavor of the food was delicious but I found a hair in the sauce. I mean, come on! You have super good food bit lackadaisical help, get it together!

I know I am in the minority but I don't like Valentino's pizza. I don't like the sauce, it's too sweet for me. I also don't like their iceberg lettuce salad. What I do like (given 2 stars for) is their breadsticks. I think you have to be a real Husker to like Valentino's--i'm not.

I'm not a native Nebraskan but I've lived here for 20-some years so I feel qualified to answer this. Valentino's is some strange Nebraskan thing. Everyone born and raised here seems to love it. I don't. I agree with the previous post about the sauce being too sweet and in general I'm not a fan of their cheese or crust. That being said, a LOT of people here love it, but antidotally I don't know a single person who wasn't raised in Nebraska who thinks it is good. (Which in and of itself is a novelty.) If you want to experience what Nebraskans think is good pizza, check this place out. Otherwise... Chicago is just an hours flight away, and you can't go wrong there!
