I first tried Schlotzky's in high school (back in the 80s - a looong time ago) and I keep coming back. Over the years I've tried their various sandwiches but I always go back to the Original. With the toasted sourdough bread, ham, salamis, cheddar, mozzarella, black olives, mustard, lettuce, tomato and onion -- there's really no other deli sandwich like it. When the 72nd Street location closed, I now usually go here when I'm in the area (and actually find excuses to be in the neighborhood when I'm having cravings for it). Have also tried the newer Saddle Creek location which is good, too. Tip: tastes even better when you order with extra cheese.

This place is awesome. I went there with my 10yr old. After I ordered I realized I forgot my wallet. I apologized and starting walking out the door and the manager stopped me and told me it was on the house!!! What a great guy I wish I caught his name. And, I've never been disappointed with the food. Always top notch.

I haven't eaten at one of these for 15 years and it's just as good as I remember if not better. This location also has a Cinnabon too. My husband ordered the Angus beef sandwich on sourdough and it was very good he said and would get it again. He even enjoyed their bbq chips. I ordered a flatbread pizza and was pleased with it. Avocados were fresh and overall the whole thing was great tasting! The set up of placing orders, getting drink and whatnot is a disaster! People bumping into each other because there just wasn't enough room.

Take my reviews about my beloved Schlotzky's with a grain of salt. I am biased. I miss them so dearly in Chicago.... This is a Cinnabon/Schlotzkys and its just like many others. Please come back to Chicago.

I ordered a medium turkey bacon & it was awesome! I realized, after ordering & finding a seat, that I was wanting some sort of pasta-I went back up to the counter, asked what was available, what size, etc. Since it was just the large order, and almost as much as a sandwich,I decided against it, knowing I wouldn't even be able to finish my sandwich. My friends&i were served right after this & we were busy yumm-ing & ahh-ing over our meals, when the manager(?) Brought over an order of the pasta that I had considered! He said to just enjoy it & it was on the house, in hopes that I might get it next time,I guess. I was flabbergasted! Who does something that nice for a stranger, these days? He made me a die hard fan, that day! I moved away from Omaha 20 years ago &I love a chance to go to sdhlotzky's, when I come back to visit-that man just ensured that I'll make it a point to stop in...EVERY TRIP! in fact, I'm bringing my husband back in there, next weekend!

This use to be one of my favorite sandwich places. There use to be a few Schlotzkys around Omaha but they seemed to have closed a lot of them. Made me sad. The food hasn't changed a whole lot. I always get the original regular on jalapeno bread. My 5 year old son always gets the pepperoni pizza and seems to enjoy it. They make up your sandwich while you wait, and run it through what is similar to a pizza over to melt the cheese down a little, toast your bread and obvious makes your food a little warm. The broccoli cheese soup is really good. Probably would come here more if it was closer to me.
