Our service was pretty bad the last time I was in here. However, I've been here many, many times and not had that problem. They're pretty good at getting the lunch crowd in and out quickly so they can get back to work. It's definitely American Mexican, guilty pleasure if you will, but I love that damn cheese sauce.

This seems to be a pretty quiet place. Well at least it was while my daughters and I was there. The food is $6-10 a dish so the price is affordabe. The only thing is i've ate at the Romeo's on 90th & L st and for some reason there food seemed to be more tastier! I got the taco, buritto, and enchilada and the taste just wasnt there. Not authentic anyway or should i say even good!:( I will probably never go back here even thought the pricing is good, but my kids love any kind of food and they come straight out and said this food was no good! Sorry Romeos down town your just not cutting it the Frazier Family.

The stars I am bestowing are for the pizza only. I must admit I think their pizza is quite good! I would even go so far as to suggest you go out of your way to try it. However do not mistakenly order the Mexican food. I suggest Taco Bell as a superior alternative.

"In the sit-down version of Taco Bell, we paid our $28 dollar bill and left, knowing we would laugh about this someday."

Romeo's is a decent place to eat for not a lot of money, but it's not going to knock your socks off or induce hallucinations or anything like that. One major selling point is that if you're eating a meal with someone who doesn't like Mexican food, Romeo's has pizza and other standard fare, but you should really ask yourself how your life has gotten to be so bad that you're associating with people who don't like Mexican food. At this particular location, I have had the most inconsistent service from the wait staff. We had a guy named Chris, and we requested to sit in his section each time because he was such a fantastic server, but he quit, and things have been pretty terrible. Let me share an old Mexican secret that, unlike the staff, will serve you well at Romeo's: order everything smothered in green and red chili. You won't even realize how mediocre the food was.

Romeo's isn't horrible, but it's definitely not great either. The miserable decor really just amplifies the mediocrity of the food. I was really baffled by a lot of the food here. Why was my burrito an enchilada? Also, why was the tortilla in my soft taco deep fried?

Ugh. Not good. Not good at all. I know people that LOVE this place, and I can't figure out why. This is not Mexican food. Walk into any random South Omaha taqueria for food that is ten times better.

I think this is a popular place because it's cheap and quick for lunch. I guess I shouldn't be so critical. I have only been here several times, one of which being last week. You have to pay for chips and (real)salsa. There is marginal salsa that is on the table. My entree was alright. It had the fake cheese sauce smeared all over it that I despise. I just tried to move it over to the pile of shredded iceberg lettuce that was on the plate. The rice was okay. It's not bad food, just nothing that turns me on too much. And I always wonder about the pizza? Nacho typical restaurant?

Oh boy, I knew when we pulled up and the sign said Mexican Food AND Pizza that we were in trouble. The food is bland and unappetizing. The guacamole I asked them to put in my burrito was brown, and I don't think it was made from real avocados. It made me sick later on. Totally not vegan friendly, although they are pretty vegetarian friendly if you modify some things. But seriously, don't even bother... it's not worth it. Hop on 75 South that's right across the street, get off on Q Street and take your pick of any number of taquerias. I can guarantee they'll be better than Romeo's.

This is not good mexican food, folks. Everything is quite generic and bland, with little flavor. When ordering chips and "queso," they bring out what appears to be a melted brick of velveeta with some flavorless salsa. Yuck. The entrees are on par with the chips and cheese, as well. Not much spice or flavor, smaller portions for the price. On the up side, this is probably a good place for families to eat at an affordable price. Just don't plan on leaving with your taste buds pleased.

Birthday lunch with co-workers. I would not have chosen this place, but birthday babe wanted it :) Our server seems rough, like I don't know, just rough. A few of us had to find our own silverware and at the end, get out own boxes. Premade, generic food.

Love this place. Come on guys, if you expect fanciness or real Mexican food from a place that sells both pizza and Mexican food and calls itself "Nacho Typical Restaurant"...well, that's just a comprehension fail. :) I eat here a couple times a month because they're good and and I always get alot (too much) food. The lunch plate I get (enchilada & burrito w/a side of rice) is $5.99, meaning I can walk out of there for like $6.40 plus tip. You can't beat that for a sit-down restaurant. Cons: The restaurant is dingy and dark. The rice always sucks; it's dried-out, which is odd because I generally go at lunch. *shrugs* Pros: Cheese enchiladas. Booze. Good-sized portions. Price. Excellent service. Also, the pizza is surprisingly good. One of these days I'm going to order a sancho just to find out what the he11 it is. (Oh, who am I kidding...I'm not gonna do that, I'm gonna get a cheese enchilada.)

It's Romeo's an Omaha staple. If your looking for authenticity this would not be your choice. I like to call it American style Mexican. I have been going here do a good 35 years, it's inexpensive, the staff is very friendly and the food is ok. I will keep going, it's a tradition!

Was starving and figured that's as good a reason as any to try a new place out...I'm certainly glad I did...my server, Amanda, was a real delight and answered all my questions with humor and grace...when I mentioned that I'm starving and wanted something with a lot of food, she recommended the combo #1...damn what a feast...I went with pork in everything...the rice was good, the beans were okay but the 3 items were really damn good...I'm glad I listened...the pork in particular I enjoyed...the price was really good considering how much food I got...I will most definitely be coming back here...they lose a star for not having complimentary chips and salsa...

This was once a pretty good place, now the quality is very poor. The food is greasy and out of a can or a package. The only good thing they have are margaritas which they put in glasses filled with ice so you don't get much and they are NEVER on special.

Not one of my favorite places to eat. The food seems too heavy and rich. The food aside, the atmosphere is nice and the staff is friendly, also the prices aren't that bad either.

I absolutely, positively have to go to Romeos every time I'm in Omaha. I daydream of the ground beef soft taco hitting my lips and I start drooling. The crispy quesadilla is delicious. I like to add chicken and jalapenos. Cold beer & booze awaits me at Romeos as well as great customer service. Soup and Pizza are yummy, too! Natcho Typical Menu! Favorite Romeos Memory: My 12th Birthday Party where my mom taught us Spanish while feasting on Romeos Tacos. I'm 31 now!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
