Stopped by Razzy's today for the first time and I can't believe it took me driving past this Omaha landmark 50 times before checking it out. The atmosphere inside is great & I would definitely suggest going in, rather than the drive through just to check it out. I ordered the #1 (basically Italian) to go and it was delicious. Get it toasted! Took no time at all either. Can't wait to return. My only downside is that my sub was smaller than I expected, but the price was right. All Omahan's need to visit here and support Razzy's!

Razzy's is one of the few independent deli/sub shops in town. We're overrun with Subway, Jimmy John's, Little King, and the like. Razzy's is kitschy and the interior is a bit dated but the food is tasty and I am all for supporting a local small business. The biggest plus is you get about double the meat-cheese-toppings for the same price as the chains. They even have $5 footlongs although instead of a 12" sub you get 2 sandwiches. Heckuva deal!

From the outside, Razzy's looks like nothing special. In fact, I didn't even notice I had driven past it. The interior, however, is cozy, wood-paneled, with old-timey posters and an extensive wall-mounted menu of sandwiches, soups, sides, and deserts. There is a large range of meats, cheeses, and breads to choose from, but I stuck with my favorite and got the foot long meatball with provolone and a side of rotini salad. The sub came out as two 6 inchers, piping hot, and covered with melted cheese and oregano. The meatballs were well cooked and spiced, with an excellent marinara, just enough to be flavorful without making the bread soggy. Instead, the bread was deliciously fresh, chewy, and soft. The foot-long ended up being more food than I could eat and a great deal for the price. The rotini salad wasn't great, as it bordered on mushy, but it was still fairly palatable. When I was there, they had a list of $5 foot-longs and a special of the day, which is a hell of a deal considering the quality. Really, my sandwich was among the best options in this price range, certainly beating out that other hawker of $5 foot-longs. I can't wait to go back.

The sandwiches at Razzy's are great, and there is a large selection of breads, meats, cheeses, and toppings. All sandwiches can be toasted, and they have the standard rack of Frito Lay variety chips. If it's your first time, try the Some-A sandwich on marble rye, their signature creation. The soup selection is vast and pretty tasty, though not outstanding. I am not sure if they have salads or not. There is relatively lots of seating, almost all booths, and the walls are covered with old kitchy items. Each table is stocked with 20 or 30 old trivial pursuit cards in the event the conversation dries up.

Razzy's is a nice locally owned sandwich shop. They make nice old-fashioned subs and a wide variety of other sandwiches. I'll admit I prefer Quizno's and Jimmy John's more, but I still find myself here from time to time, and I don't leave disappointed. They are basically right next door to a Subway, but they are enough better then Subway to earn my business. Their potato salad is awesome! Parking is usually OK, and they have a drive-thru.
