The Sandwich was decent, i had Tuna and there was a lot of Tuna on it, not just a smear like some sandwich shops do. The soup, they said it was homemade, but it was really salty and the flavor was mediocre at best. The service was great, but the building itself looks like it hasn't been cleaned in quite sometime and there is a slightly putrid smell when you walk in. I realize that the building is super old, but maybe they need to hire a professional cleaning crew to come in and give it a thorough cleaning. I went there because my husband used to go to it years ago and we were hungry, but I doubt if I will go again, it just wasn't clean enough.

I've never known why some people really enjoy Razzy's so much. I've never been impressed, and my latest visit was no exception. I was hungry. Like starving hungry. So I pulled into the parking lot on a whim. Once inside, I asked the cashier for a recommendation and was steered towards the BBQ beef. What I got for $6.99 was soggy, thin cut beef smothered in a watery sweet sauce served on a Rotella's hoagie bun. The meat was OK, but really the sandwich was very bread-heavy and completely underwhelming. I saw a sign out front that claimed Razzy's is Omaha's only soup deli. So I ordered a bowl of barley beef soup with my meal. It was heavy on the broth, medium on the barley and skimpy on the beef. I think I found one pea hiding in there somewhere as well. Plus, like my drink, it was served in Styrofoam -- pretty much the worst material ever. Couldn't they use reusable bowls. Or even paper? At least for the soup? Please? Even though my (very sticky to the touch) tray of food may have looked like it came straight out of the soup kitchen line, I have to admit I did kind dig like the waaaay outdated decor, probably unchanged since the '70s. Classic car sign here, a checkers board there, etc. Did I just order the wrong thing? The other Yelp reviews plus a favorable newspaper review hanging on the wall -- written by a local journalist I highly respect -- tell me that I must have. I'll give you ONE more try Razzy's. But that's it.

I utilized the drive-thru today and the gentlemen that took my order was quite helpful and friendly but beware he speaks very fast so pay attention.. I ordered the barley beef stew and all I can say is wow-- as in delicious wow, quite tasty. Although I would expect a little more beef but nonetheless delicious. I also had their ham sandwich which was delicious as well, pretty clear all their ingredients are fresh. They have a number of different soups which I will be trying this fall, seems soups are always better in the fall/winter and I'm looking forward to their chili as well. Negatives, kind of a dumpy looking building close to the hood.

I have given Razzy's a couple of chances now, because I like the idea of eating at "mom & pop" local places over large chains when possible. After two bad experiences, this place has earned its single star from this reviewer. Whether the owner/management is going for some strange, nostalgic charm, or if they just don't care to invest in redecorating and upgrades, it isn't working well for them. I understand that the building is old, but not near as old as many of those housing the restaurants in the Old Market, and they do not smell foul and unappetizing like Razzy's smells. The premises are a far cry from anyplace I would ever suggest meeting someone.....or even call sanitized. Both times my order was wrong. The second time I ate in, so I was able to have it corrected. The claims of using more meat per sandwich than the competition - whatever that may be - did not hold true for my sandwich. While the prices are reasonable here, it doesn't really matter to me when I can get more for my dollar elsewhere. If this is your neighborhood sandwich shop and it works for you, then I say "fantastic". If you like a clean place, consistent food preparation and a fresh sandwich made as you requested, go elsewhere. I will not eat here again.

Slowly declining, or frozen in time as standards advance? Either way, there are better choices. On this visit, I was met at the door by Eau De Cheap Hotel...a combination of sanitizer, damp carpet, and stale smoke. The sign says No Smoking, but my nose refuses to believe it. My sandwich was missing several ingredients. Most importantly, my "3 cheese and salami" sandwich had no salami. They fixed it and apologized, but still... They fill the sandwich with lettuce and toppings, then lay the meat and cheese on top. It feels wrong, but I'll admit this construction keeps it together nicely. Mayo is on the lettuce, not the bread, Subway style. Back to the signs, they claim to provide 50-100% more meat than their competition, but it's as skimpy as I've seen anywhere. There are a few upsides. Cool, ancient decor. Friendly folks. Good memories (so I'm told) for north Omaha natives. A few menu items that are hard to find elsewhere.

Halfway decent sandwich shop not terribly far from my office. I have actually never been inside, though I've always heard of the interesting decor. The drive through is usually pretty fast and the service is good. The menu board is pretty beat up, though, so if I do take a moment to consider something other than my usual it's hard to read. I tend to order the same thing over and over at Razzy's, and that's the chicken salad. I change up the bread from time to time but I mostly order good ol' dark rye. There have been a few occasions where the chicken was under-seasoned, so that can be annoying but at least the mayo to chicken ratio is always consistent. I also like their egg salad on marble during Lent when I am banished from meat on Fridays.

My favorite part about Razzy's is the portion size. A large sandwich is two 8-inch subs, and for only $6.50! I'm very pleased with the value of this restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is old and small, but the decorating is pretty unique. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. We ordered and within a couple minutes our sandwiches were ready. The sub itself was great. They have a selection of several different types of bread. I got the classic white and my wife got the croissant. The taste was great. They have really good cheese and a special sauce that gives the sandwich a distinct taste from other sandwich shops.

Nothing to special here. Just your average sandwich shop. I'll give it to them for trying to compete with the other sandwich chains that surround this place. I think this place needs a revamp. Show them you can compete!

Razzy's is a great little local joint to stop into for a bite of lunch. I have on;y been here a handful of times but I have enjoyed what I ordered each time even though I do feel as though I could make the sandwiches they offer at home. I'd rate this place a 3 on the food since the prices are, in my opinion, steep for what you receive. However, I'd give them 5 stars for their personable employees who are always friendly. The sandwich would be better if they had another bread supplier than Rotella's. I know, Rotella's is local and many people enjoy it, but I just find myself yearning for a chewier bread on a sandwich. Overall, Razzy's is a good place for a quick lunchtime sandwich.

Have been to Razzy's many times over many years and the pretty much ALWAYS have excellent food. Today was almost no exception. I ordered a Ham and Swiss Sub, and as usual, fresh bread, good portion ham - little skimpy on the cheese (very thin and little of it). The only complaint I have is that they have clearly downsized the portions of the side orders. They have EXCELLENT Potato Salad and Macaroni Salad. I ordered one of each, thinking one for now, one for dinner. Well, the portions were in a much smaller container than usual a - I think only about a 3 oz plastic cup if best. Great salad as usual - just kind of a small portion. Would rather see the price raised than the portion made smaller.

While I agree that I could potentially make some of the sandwiches at Razzy's I don't order those for that specific reason. Gotta go for something like chicken salad on marble rye or one of their hot sandwiches. And make sure that you try their homemade soups and quiz your dining companions with trivial pursuit cards from the 50's while waiting to get the full experience.

It used to be good. The people can't seem to get the toppings on a sandwich right. That's after many of chances because we live near by. So if you go good luck getting your stuff correct. The best was just tonight we asked for olives on the sandwich and they put one single black olive on it. ha, ha What a joke! It would be better to make your own at home!

This is a good sandwich shop, especially if you hate the chains like Subway, but absolutely love sandwiches like me. The sandwiches are good, but taste exactly like what I make at home, so it only gets three stars because I can make the same thing for cheaper. The next time I go, I am going to try one of the homemade soups. It is a great quick lunch spot, and the service was fabulous for a place that you only get service at the counter. I will always choose a place like this over a Subway/Jimmy Johns/Blimpie's.

Old. Small. Perfect. As a biz traveller I have had my fill of chain restaurants, so I like to hit the one-off type places. Today I had the pastrami sandwich and bowl of chili and drink. All for about $10. I will definitely be back to try the "Some-A". I believe it has 5 meats and 3 cheeses, just what the heart (and waistline?) need.

Great food for the cost. As a college student, I don't have very expendable income, so Razzy's is perfect for me. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Pros: Good food! Cons: Pretty dumpy Razzy's was my sandwich shop for many years. Today I go there with my mom whenever I visit home. It's dumpy and nothing out of this world, but they do make a damn good sandwich. I like to switch between the pastrami, the roast beef and the meatball when I come here. They always put it on fresh bread. Good chip selection. Great spot for lunch. Next time you're thinking Subway or Jimmy Johns, give Razzy's a try.

Love this place. Have been coming here since I was a little kid and still one of my favorite places in Omaha. Try the Roast Beef and Cream Cheese, all time favorite.
