I'm not nuts about fast food, but I do find myself craving a Whopper or McDonald's fries on occasion, so why not add chicken fingers to that list? The good? -- fast, friendly service -- good crinkle cut fries -- piping hot, freshly fried chicken fingers The not so good... -- messy dining area (refuse on the floor, crumbs and grime on the tables) -- the price (just a touch high for me) -- Texas Toast (why bother?) $7.29 for 4 chicken fingers, fries, one sauce (I guess they're very strict about doling this stuff out), cole slaw, a piece of Texas toast and a drink. Pretty good value, actually, but I could lose the toast. The next meal down seems too little with 3 fingers, fries and a drink for $6 and change. Give me a 4th finger and we're in business. Chicken was good, no doubt, but not sooo good that I'm haunted by it and HAVE to go back (I was hoping it would be). Definitely a nice change of pace from McDonald's, BK, KFC, etc.

One of the worst meals we had while in Omaha. Two different items on the menu with three variations each. They do not have bbq sauce either.

Been to a Raising Canes before and there was nothing new EXCEPT a server named Danielle who saw my FD T- shirt I had on and informed us of the discount for fire, police, EMS, military. We told he we had no idea about it and in turn to make up for it she added an extra chicken finger to each of our meals and brought our food to us. THAT folks is excellent service!!

Decided to go to Cane's for a healthy lunch. In spirit of keeping this meal healthy, I opted to swap the coleslaw for an additional slice of Texas Toast, cause it is purdy good. What? bread is on the old Food Pyramid and the new Food Plate, O.K. maybe not this type of bread, but it's still pretty tasty. Cane's makes nice chicken fingers. Not the best and certainly not the worst. All in all, not a bad drive thru if you are in a hurry and have a little hankering for some pretty good crunchy chicken finger pieces.

Granted, I'm a huge Caniac...but my most recent visit made me want to update my review...I ordered my usual, The Box...the girl who took my order, Amber, was really friendly and had a great sense of humor...I realized after the fact that I had forgotten to order an extra sauce...I mentioned that to her and got my money out to pay, which was only $.35...but this is where Amber showed her true colors: She waved my money away and said don't worry about it, that it wasn't a big deal...that to me shows excellent customer service because too many places nickel and dime you over silly things, like at McD's...I hope Amber's managers realize that she's an asset to their business and give her the recognition she deserves...and to top it off, my food was hot, tasty and perfect...,keep up the great work RC...

Cleanliness 4 Service 4 Food 4 Likelihood 4 Environmentally Friendly 2 OVERALL SCORE 3.6 Our fist time to a Raising Canes store. Parking was a little difficult to get through. I might suggest that ALL employees park in the stalls that are aligned with the drive through lane of traffic so customers don't have to fight that traffic (there is about 7 stalls there.) Menu is pretty simple. They do chicken and fries. That is about it. And they do that pretty well. Only one register open when we came in which was interesting considering that there was a line in drive through and a line in the restaurant. I am a big fan of seeing and TALKING to the manager on duty. I didn't see a manager, supervisor or leader the entire time. Food was VERY hot and VERY fresh (I think it JUST came out of the fryer.) I will say without sauce the chicken has no flavor or seasoning. Although hot, fresh and good quality it has no taste. The sauce is great. Fries are the small crinkle cut fries. The food (to go or to say) is served in Styrofoam containers with lids. Not environmentally friendly, especially for in store orders that could be put in paper trays. Drink station location causes a traffic jam of people, should be located close to door or behind front bench area. Overall, I think they have a quality product in a new clean location with pretty good service. I hope people try it at least once.

I'm not going to downgrade Raising Cane's for not having any variety or serving unhealthy food because doing so would be like criticizing a Chinese restaurant for not serving Mexican cuisine. The consensus of the review is this: if you want chicken, go to Raising Cane's. No, I'm not asking you to cancel your reservations to Mahogany Prime Steakhouse. But if (and only if) you're craving deep-fried, golden-brown, salty and savory fast food chicken (which all of us are every once in a while), you won't get a tastier or better quality meal than Raising Cane's. Unless you take the trip to Bellevue or Papillion to Chick-Fil-A, if you enjoy your chicken with a side of homophobia. The chicken here is tasty and great quality. You get more meat per finger/nugget/tender/strip/whatever they're called these days, and the meat is juicier and more tender than other national fast food counterparts. The breading is actually thinner, but fantastically crispy and great on its own. The Texas Toast is a soft yet crispy piece of bread smothered in garlic butter (you weren't here for health reasons, were you)? and the coleslaw and french fries are run-of-the-mill but well done. The Raising Cane's sauce ties it all together, and you get an outstanding chicken finger meal - which, of course, is reflected in the price. At the very least, it's worth visiting the Raising Cane's drive-thru just to hear the lady there say "Chicken chicken chicken, which combo you pickin'?" Right? ...guys?

Gotta say for a chicken place, this is up there with Chic-Filet! The chicken has always been juicy and evenly cooked unlike a few experiences I've had at Bojangles. Now if they'd just bring the chain to the East Coast!!

It's a Raising Cane's, so of course, the chicken fingers are awesomely delicious! Love the sauce! Food is hot and fresh! Fast service. Good location. Plenty of parking and the parking lot was easy to get in and out of. Cane's staff has always been friendly to me, but on this particular visit at this particular location, one of their employees totally shined! After we had ordered our food at the counter and were heading to sit at a table, a Cane's employee named Danielle noticed that my husband was wearing a T-shirt from his fire department. Then she mentioned the anchor tattoo on his arm and asked him about his military service. Danielle was upset because she said we should have been given a "heroes" discount on our order. She thanked my husband for his service and not only did she personally deliver our food to the table (normally you pick up your food at the counter), but she also added extra food to our order at no extra charge! It was a wonderful feeling to know that military and emergency services mean so much to some businesses and people! I was very touched. Danielle turned what would have been a very tasty, but also very typical lunch into something very special for us. Raising Cane's has a gem in Danielle!

These strips are some of the most top notch chicken (fast food) flavor and texture wise I have ever shoved down my mouth hole, the fries are not bad and the bread is grilled in butter on one side and soft on the other. I would order another canes sauce no matter how many strips you have, you're gonna need it...

This location has really gone down hill from when it first opened. Really loved the food and friendly atmoshphere when it first opened. I was excited for Omaha to finally have one since Lincoln had a Raising Cane's for awhile. The fries are over salted and soggy now. They've messed up my order twice now the last two times I've been there this past week. The crew is very rude now. I most likely won't ever return back to this location.

Not sure where you people who think chic fil a is better are from but if you prefer chicken full of chemicals and preservatives then stick with the crappy bad for you chicken. You can fool yourself that it is good for you but it is one step above McDonald's pink slime chicken nuggets. Www.thenorthcast.com/can… if you also want your money going to fund hate stick with chick.

this yelper is totally a fan of raising cane!!! totally wishing that they had a raising cane in LA!! what in the world does raising cane mean? basically cane is the family dog's name. the owners were raising their pet dog cane. ordered: the 3 finger combo- 3 chicken fingers, texas toast, a drink, crinkle fries, and 1 cane's sauce. chicken fingers were well battered and the chicken was white meat. it wasn't overly oily and had a slight crunch. crinkle fries brings me back to middle school so you definitely can't go wrong there. the texas toast was my mother in laws favorite part of the meal. if you love sauces then definitely pay extra to get another side of cane's sauce. not quite sure what the ingredients are but it's pretty tasty with the fries and chicken fingers. overall the 3 finger combo was perfect for one person as there was so many items that came along with the chicken fingers that you'll definitely get full. end of story, it was so good that my hubby and i looked into the possibility of franchising however it's only family own. :( tips: *accepts cash and credit card *indoor seating only. *female and male restroom is not shared. *has a drive thru *has it's own parking lot *lemonade costs extra

I went through the drive thru yesterday for lunch and ordered a few items. It's kind of hard to get to Raising Cane's as you can't turn right onto Capital from 72nd and you can't turn right onto Dodge from Dodge, so it was kind of a pain to get to. I ordered the 3 finger combo and two kids meals. We ate the food about 5-10 minutes later. I waiting in the drive through line for about 10-15 minutes at 11:30 am, which was surprisingly a long time considering all they make is chicken tenders and fries. The chicken strips were kind of small compared to the marketing and menu pictures but they were pretty tasty. The breading was good and the chicken was fresh and moist. The fries were limp and soggy. The texas toast was decent, but a tad soggy. But the Cane sauce was the big winner here. It tasted awesome with so many levels of flavor. I wish I could buy a bucket of it. With the fries and the texas toast being soggy, that may attribute to me eating it 10 minutes after getting it so I won't let that affect my rating too much. Overall, it was okay. A tad expensive considering the size of the chicken tenders but I am definitely going back to dip more tenders in that amazing cane sauce.

Excellent chicken! The slaw, fries, and sauce were delicious. The place was busy at 1130 am and packed by noon. Would have given five stars but I had to clean my own table.

For a place that literally only served chicken tenders, I expected far better. They claim to marinate the chicken for 24hrs but I couldn't tell. There is literally no seasoning or spice to them at all, it takes like plain chicken covered in the plainest, untasty breading. I really wanted to like this place. I LOVE chicken tenders... but even after this third visit today, I'm just going to accept they will never serve anything noteworthy.

...about the saddest Cane's I've ever been to! First time to this location and I can immediately tell that it needs new management and an entirely new staff. 6pm on a Sunday and the place is a complete mess, however, there are only 8 other customers in the store. Soda and some other gross stuff on the floor, about 5 clean tables in the entire place. Once we got our food, the chicken was good but had been sitting awhile, same story with the fries. Completely unexplainable why as it's not busy at all! Definitely not the Raising Cane's quality we're used to!

This was pretty disappointing for me, even for a fast food chain. I come from the northeast, so I had never had a lot of the regional fast food from other parts of the country. I particularly like chicken fingers, so I figured this was worth a try. I went in and saw that almost all of the choices on the menu were chicken fingers. I got the box combo, which had four alright chicken fingers, some bland Cole slaw, soggy fries, and this weird thing they called Texas toast. The Texas toast tasted like Chinese bakery bread from back home. Bizzare.. The cane sauce was actually pretty decent, but the fries were disappointing. I expected a lot more coming from reviews comparing raising canes to chick fil a. On a brighter note, I did win a free chicken finger from the promotion that they're running where one in every three cups is a winner. Also, my coworker almost had a brain aneurysm when the cashier told him that they didn't have barbecue sauce. Good times.

At first I was put off when I heard they only do chicken strips. What? Who can do a business on just one item? Then I remembered what Anthony Bourdain said. Do one thing and do it well. This is what Raising Cane's is all about. Dare I whisper they have perfected the chicken strip? Wash out your mouth if you call it a chicken nugget! This is a strip of white meat which remains juicy and tender and moist and pulls apart in those delicate strings of chicken. The breading/crust has been seasoned just so and when dipped into the Cane sauce transforms the mouthful into rainbows and unicorns. I have been known to be a fry whore so when I tell you these fries are delicious, believe me. Crinkle cut with just the right amount of salt. I want to go back as I write this. I think I want to try the sandwich next. Oh, the sweet tea wasn't overly sweet. I think I would have preferred it to be a little sweeter, that's the only fault I could see. Please to enjoy!

Nope. Definitely had better.. At a Chick Fil A, at any other restaurant serving chicken tenders/fingers. As this is their staple food, it's just mediocre at best and they are way too expensive for what they serve. The chicken tenders were so small!! No special spices/taste in this fingers. The Texas toast was not that impressive as it looks- I thought putting butter with toast might have been even better. And the fries were average as well. Coleslaw was eh. Nothing impressed me about this meal. Nothing. It's too expensive for their portions and taste. At least I won a free lemonade with their game. The lemonade was not special either.

As an adult, I rate it 3 stars. My 7year old, who may be considered a 'chicken tender connoisseur' (having eaten them in at least 50 restaurants in at least 6 states, LOL) considers this a 5 star however! If you don't already know, all they sell here is chicken tenders. The place was packed when we arrived, and we all had chicken tenders, fries and a drink. Definitely a bit pricier than most fast food, but the chicken is better quality. They were hot, breaded lightly and pretty tasty. Nothing to get too excited about, but good. The fries were decent crinkle cut, and the piece of Texas Toast was good. On the downside, they need to have someone out in the dining area keeping up with table turnovers. They didn't start wiping down any tables until the lunch rush wound down. Overall it was okay. Not sure if I'll be back as I don't do much fast food, but if we are in the area, and our daughter is with us, we probably will be.

I like their food. I'll take it over Chik-Fil-A any day. My wife & I split The Caniac, and it's more than enough for us. The one main negative I would say is, Holy Crap it is LOUD in there! Tone down the music, install something to absorb some of the sound that bounces off every hard surface, and make it so we can talk while we're there, and leave without a headache!

I don't understand why people go so crazy over this chicken. Had it in Lincoln... didn't think it was that great! Tried it again for lunch.... ugh... it was good - As good as a fast food- fried chicken chain can get. KFC, Popeyes, Churches (which I don't like any of those). I rather go to local establishments for fried chicken! Fries are pretty good. I love their Texas Toast! Their Cane sauce is disgusting... it can't compare to Chick-fil-a's sauce!!

If you've lived in the heart of the south--Mississippi or Alabama--you know that there can be an obsession with chicken fingers. And you know that places that offer nothing but chicken fingers are a staple. Which is the "favorite" usually comes down to style and sauce. While not my absolute favorite (that goes to a place in Montgomery, AL), Raising Cane's is a close second. And it's a chain! I was thrilled to find it here in Omaha far away from the Gulfport, MS location I'm familiar with. So the food...chicken fingers. Not tenders. Not nuggets. Fingers. With sauce. And sides. Cole slaw, crinkle cut fries, Texas toast. When hot and fresh, all are super. If you like the flavors. Like all fast food, if it's been sitting and cooling, it goes downhill fast. My chicken tonight was great--hot and fresh with a light crunchy batter. Fries were moderate (7/10) but definitely passable. Texas toast was fluffy and buttery but not overdone. If ambience is important, it's like eating in a gas station garage--concrete and glass and I-beams. Staff was friendly and occupied keeping the dining room clean. Be advised it's not cheap--a box combo (4 fingers, sauce cup, fries, slaw, and drink) will set up back 8 bucks. Food-4 Staff-4 Value-2 Ambience-3 Overall-4

Headed to Raising Cane's and decided to order their 3-pc chicken fingers meal. The set came with crinkle fries, texas toast, a drink, and of course their cane's sauce. I will have to say that I'm a bit picky when it comes to chicken tenders. I find that many restaurants serve them either overly salty or excessively battered. Raising Cane's chicken are juicy white meat with just the right amount of crispy batter. I found their chicken fingers to be delicious and of good quality. Their sauce was also pretty tasty, but I would have appreciated more options. They also have lemonade and sweet tea. The service was good, and the food was cook to order. This is the place to go for some good ol' simple, delicious chicken fingers.

This review is based on their quality of Chicken Fingers vs every other restaurant's Chicken Fingers. These are as good as it gets. Chicken is probably unlike any chicken finger you have had anywhere else. It took me a while to 'get' this place. They have 1 thing. Chicken fingers. But, they do it right and it shows. The chicken is fresh and hand battered right there as you order it. No frozen pre-made chicken that's refried which is what you get at 99% of the other restaurants out there. Both fast food and nicer places all buy their chicken frozen and it's usually processed and gross. Not Raising Canes. They make it fresh and it tastes amazing. Like Chicken SHOULD taste. The dipping sauce they make is like a creamy catsup with a few mild spices added in. Very good. You can also get catsup and honey mustard to dip as well. The Texas toast is amazing as well. I'm not a fan of coleslaw so I won't judge that one.

I'm too nice to give this place one star. The concept is boring, the food is boring. I can't understand the lines I see at this place. Have you never had a chicken finger people? I was seriously surprised to see the menu and find that they really don't sell anything but chicken fingers. And there is nothing special or unique about them! This place doesn't offer anything you can't get anywhere else. And if you go someplace else, the rest of your party gets to order something good, that isn't also on the kids menu.

After living in Baton Rouge where Raising Canes was founded and frequenting the locations there quite often, this franchise is the furthest thing from what it should be. The chicken was bland, fries soggy and over salted, and the signature Cane's sauce did not taste like it should. Quality control is very poorly done at this location. This is not what someone should experience at a Raising Cane's.

    (1)
  • Eric U.

If you're looking for a place with extremely limited choices on its menu then Raising Cane's is the place to go. The menu consists of chicken fingers and limited side items.... coleslaw & potato wedges. The chicken was tender but rather bland. Basically this is a picky eaters paradise. As for the interior, it is rather spacious but seriously lacks in atmosphere. This is not a place I'll be eating again.

The restaurant that every person and their grandmother is raving about in Omaha. Okay so I finally went and tried it... after hearing so much fanfare about this new "chicken place." I ended up going on a Friday night for dinner with a couple of my friends. I know right... am I crazy? Yes I am. I had to double back and park at FedEx (Shhh! don't tell them...) because the place was packed. And I mean PACKED. The drive through line I think, looped around twice. Thank goodness for my experience in busy cities, old tricks of parking at another nearby business are the ordinary. We were able to walk in and after waiting 15 minutes in line and another 5 minutes for our food, I was ready to partake in my first Raising Canes experience. I ordered "The Box" complete with 4 chicken fingers, fries, texas toast, cole slaw, and THE famous dipping sauce. Upon opening the box I noticed how fresh and good everything looked. Not like when you order from Burger King hoping to get what you saw on the commercials. Raising Canes IS the commericials! Now onto the taste. Delectable. Crispy but tender melt in your mouth chicken paired with the famous sauce meant a happy dance for my taste buds. The texas toast was buttered just right and crispy. The fries were a little TOO salty.. but probably an isolated incident. Cole slaw was nothing to scream home about-- seasoned with some sort of mayo concotion. That wasn't anything special. I really enjoyed Raising Canes and for under $7.00 you get a full meal with a drink as well. Better quality than anything you can get any other fast food joint for sure.

I love fried chicken. My wife's grandmother makes the best, which is no surprise, grandmothers make the best food! When I'm not in Western Nebraska and want a good chicken fix Cane's may be my place. I had some friends that use to drive to Lincoln just to eat at this place, not exactly something I would do, but with one open in Omaha I thought I would give it a try. They do one thing and I think they do it quite well, they make fried chicken strips. They have crinkle fries that are decent, I wasn't a huge fan of the cole slaw, the glutinous garlic bread was fine, and they have one type of sauce that at first I didn't like, but it grew on me. Anyways, it is what it is, fast food chicken strips, and that is what I'm reviewing. I'm not going to compare it to the Boiler Room or the Grey Plume, it's chicken strips and compared to other fast food chicken places it's pretty damn good.

Wow - what a total disappointment - and my expectations were pretty low after reading other reviews. Everything in "the box" was mediocre from the bread to the chicken. I will say that the Canes sauce is very good but not good enough to keep the rest of this meal from going into the trash.

It is fantastic. When you get the chicken yes it is bland and boring. It truly doesn't taste great plain as is, But when you add the sauce it taste amazing. If you pay extra for the lemonade, then ask for a refill they charge you again for a refill. But sweet tea is good and unlimited. If you get a chicken burger it's simply a bun (the bread) and three strips of there chicken tenders. So I'd suggest just getting the box combo. And if you ever want to come back, ask for a caniac card. Yes you have to walk up and ask them, then go online, create a account. and then they load on a FREE box combo to your card just for signing up. I think it's pretty great. They also have military discount. And if you get the box combo, if you don't like the cole slaw, you can substitute it for extra bread, or more fries. I hope this review helped a little.

Our beloved Omaha has often been described as having a "unique and exciting culinary scene." Even the Chicago Tribune showcased the Metro as turning out a "rich stew of culinary invention." And, while Omaha does boast a handful of gastronomic gems, it's easy to question our principality's collective palette when there's a line of people spilling out the door to Raising Cane's. The latest fast-food fat farm to dot our generally lackluster landscape, Raising Cane's is perfect for any mouth-breather who has difficulty deciding which shit sandwich to force down his pharynx at McDonald's. This is because Raising Cane's only features one artery clogging entree: Chicken Fingers. That's right - with only four options to choose from, Raising Cane's kindly lets its customers get gargantuan without the troublesome task of having to mull over a menu of mystery meats. If you're looking for a light lunch, get "The 3 Finger," which includes three chicken fingers, floppity french fries, a soggy slice of Texas toast and a side of Cane's sauce/wallpaper paste/liquid lard. Or, get "The Sandwich Combo" and they'll carefully place your three chicken fingers on a bun with a piece of lettuce. For the best experience, though, you should really order what Raising Cane's describes as "The Perfect Box." As it says on Raising Cane's website, "Perfection is a matter of taste. And you'll find all of them in The Box." - which, of course, makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. "The Box" comes with four chicken fingers, french fries, Texas toast, and a mouthwash cup filled with coleslaw. And, let's not forget about the side of Cane's sauce, that super-secret mixture of mayonnaise, Worcestershire and pepper. "We call it perfection," exclaims Raising Cane's, "but you can just ask for The Box." Incidentally, I've been searching for the perfect box for several years now. It most certainly can't be found at Raising Cane's. And, I'd prefer there aren't fingers already inside of it. Now, if you feel like getting crazy, go for "The CANIAC." "The CANIAC" is the exact same thing as "The Box," but with two more chicken fingers and an additional side of Cane's Sauce. You might want to eat five chicken fingers and use the sixth one to plug up your butthole. Raising Cane's plans to open another location at Westroads Mall, which is exactly where it belongs - sandwiched between other gut rot-inducing greaseries in the food court. What better way for Midwesterners to spend the afternoon than waddling around the mall, sticking their faces in "The Box," downing a Dairy Queen Blizzard and then passing out on the bench outside Radio Shack. If you like your food to come out fast, and your poop to come out faster, try Raising Cane's. Otherwise, consider giving Cane's fingers the finger, and eating somewhere worthwhile.

I have eaten here once a week since opening day and the quality has gone downhill very very quickly. The chicken fingers are half the size they used to be, THE FOOD IS COLDER, the drive thru members are not personable and extremely obnoxious, and management seems to be in hiding, It has been this way for six to eight weeks now and I am officially done going to Raising Cane's. Do yourselves a favor and keep your members in check. My chicken was so tiny I went back in to get more and the male cashier said, "those guys in the back are fucking idiots.". Who the heck talks that way to customers?!?! Who the heck hires people that give adults toddler size chicken fingers???? I should take my degree, become a manager there, and clean house.

I love Raising Cane's. Been here numerous times since it's opened in Omaha. Way better strips than KFC or Popeye's or anywhere else for that matter fastfood wise. They are always cooked perfectly, they're hot and fresh when you get them and the Cane's sauce is amazing. I would replace ranch with this at every restaurant if I could. It's even more convenient now that there's one in Westroads Mall!

I went here a few weeks back, not really knowing anything about it. Went though the drive thru. The staff was nice enough, but they got my drink order wrong. And it seemed a bit pricey for just some chicken and fries, but, I thought, maybe this is really great chicken-poultry from the gods! It smelled okay in the car, but once I opened the box, it just seemed okay. Maybe not as bad as a KFC/Popeyes/Church's, but I feel like I've had chicken fingers from burger joints that taste about the same. Maybe I rate it alongside Chick-Fil-A (if I were still going to that place)? But, I feel like it was a TON of food. So, if you're hungry and want decent chicken, you could try this place.

  • Robert L.

It's just chicken strips. Sure, they are good, but I am not sure why people are going that crazy over it other than it being new to Omaha. If you're looking to get full on carb heavy fried foods for $7, here's your place.

Went there for another time with a guest. We had a box and a sandwich. I did not make mention of my previous experience as I wanted an unbiased opinion. One thing that was wonderful was the upbeat and cheerful person taking our order. She sounded genuinely happy we were there! Ok, on to the food. When we got done eating I asked my guest what her opinion was. And I quote "It was good, but not anything I can't get at KFC's or other chicken places." My opinion exactly. This is good food, reasonable pricing, fast and cheerful service. However, I would not drive out of my way, but I will go if in the area.

  • Oscar G.

Not bad, though I don't think it's as tasty as Chick-Fil-A. I had the three-piece meal with bread, fries, and sauce. The chicken tenders were good, but nothing special. The sauce was very tasty, but the fries were nothing other than regular ol' crinkle-cut fries, and were kinda soggy. The real star was the side of bread that comes with their meals. One side is seared, and has a good, buttery flavor. Unless I'm right there, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again. It's a new restaurant on the Dodge Street corridor, so expect long lines at the drive-thru and inside. My total wait time at the drive-thru was about about 20 minutes, start to finish.

This is another example of a restaurant starting out good then taking a dive. First visit, it was great. Fast service, hot food, very good. The chicken fingers are sort of bland but that's ok because the sauce makes up for it. Second visit, tonight....not so good. First of all, it's fast food. It shouldn't take 20 minutes to get your meal. I think they were out hunting my chicken. We waited, waited waited. The drive thru orders were going out fast (we dined in and I could see the drive thru/kitchen). Finally, we get our food. The food was barely warm. For waiting 20 minutes it should have been so hot I burned my lip!!! No, barely warm. My husband wanted more sauce so I stopped at the counter on my way to refill my drink. After standing there waiting, waiting, more waiting the guy handed me one and said "normally we charge ,39). Really, you charge extra for sauce. Ok, run my credit card for .39. He gave it to me for free, even though I insisted on paying for it. Horrible customer service. Over priced mediocre food. No thanks

The taste is good, the portion size is ridiculously small, and they've shorted me food both times. Both times I've gone, I've ordered the "caniac combo", to split with my girlfriend. At $12 (with a couple extra sauces), you'd think you'd get everything you ordered. The caniac combo is advertised as being 6 chicken strips, an "extra helping" of fries and a piece of toast. First time through we barely got any fries (think a small sized McDonalds size amount), and no toast. Thinking it had just opened and they were busy, maybe they were short on stuff and frazzled, we gave it another chance. The next time were the only car in line and we only got 5 chicken strips and still had an incredibly small amount of fries. If they didn't charge $12 for 6 chicken strips I wouldn't complain. But this is pretty ridiculous. The one in Lincoln gives a huge amount of fries and the appropriate number of advertised chicken. I guess they don't care about the operations of this location so much. It's good food, but for the price and the constant errors, can't recommend. Edit- I mean, $12!!!!! Are you kidding me!?

Omaha needed this option and especially in this area... People that complain about how much ice is in their cup should speak up if that's an issue... Facepalm... Anyway, I am here on the second day being open and even though busy as heck they were jamming at the registers! I am from Baton Rouge and have loved canes for a long time so consider the fifth star purely that factor. Chicken is moist, well breaded, and consistent. I personally think their canes sauce rocks (i swear my home version is only one ingredient off) and I fully support a simple menu... Do one thing and do it right. Decor is standard canes with tables, bench seating, and a few corner spots. Albeit the fighting Dodge traffic at certain hours this strip of land needed a breath of fresh air so good choice canes! Staff were all friendly and handled the volume well. Manager was out and engaged and kept his smile on... I think they will do well here even at a slightly higher price point than other chicken restaurants which I won't even bother to mention. Others mentioned the coleslaw being underwhelming... it's true. This is why anyone who knows canes tells the counter to hold the slaw and hit 'em with an extra toast. Oh yeah! Last selling point - Chicken is never frozen so always made fresh. \m/

chicken is ok but hate their sauce and they won't serve gravy too bad--never go there again

It's nothing to write home about. The restaurant is clean with a clean parking lot and when you arrive the customer service is great; fast and efficient. The ice in the cup caught me off guard, ha! Anyway, the soda fountain is great. I had Coke and their Coke isn't watered down like most other restaurants these days; it had a great fizz to it. As for the chicken, well... The batter wasn't special and it really required the sauce to give them flavor. The texas toast is nice and soft and the coleslaw somewhat creamy. Fries, the fries were probably the best thing in the box. They were flavorful with just the right amount of salt. When I threw our trash away it really bothered me about the amount of styrofoam in the trash can. What a waste, really. The same meal could've been delivered in a cardboard/paper box or better yet just on a tray and it could've accomplished the same taste. It's not somewhere that I'm going to aim to visit or go out of my way to eat, but I'll go there if someone else recommends it for a quick bite to eat with them.

Everything here was good. Not bad, not great, but good. It's been crazy to get to since it opened about a month ago, but we finally decided to give it a try today. The chicken was good; a bit on the small side, but ok. The fries were standard crinkle cut, but were good. The toast was really good as others are saying. I'd sure love to have that toast with my next steak. The slaw was good; my wife liked it quite a bit. Now for the sauce that people are raving about. I think someone else said it was similar to Big Mac sauce. I'd have to agree. My wife said it tasted like thousand island dressing. Nothing special, and didn't add anything to the meal in our opinion. Overall, good. I guess we'll have it again sometime, but we won't drive out of our way for it.

So my partner and I went through the drive through last night so we could find out what the fuss was about. We both ordered the box combo which comes with 4 chicken fingers, toast, crinkle fries, slaw, and a 21oz drink. I got their lemonade and my partner got the sweet tea. I guess I'm not quite sure what the fuss is about?? Its just chicken fingers, I mean their special dipping sauce isn't so special and their special lemonade isn't so sweet neither is the sweet tea, I DON'T GET IT, anyhow, I just needed to try it 1 time, I'm good now.

This was our third time at Omaha's Canes-trust me the Lincoln, NE Canes are much superior! Last night my husband went thru the drive-thru about 8pm-2 cars ahead of him, he waited for over 10 minutes to get up to get his food, ordered a 6piece-the girl said they put an extra piece in because some were small, well, all were small, one tender you could see was cut in half. Not once has the chicken here tasted like it was just cooked when we ordered it, and last night there were hardly any fries. I think maybe the owner should visit the Lincoln locations and see what the food should be like-or someone from the company should drive thur and do an evaluation. Too bad for Omaha!

This place is just okay. I braved the long line earlier this evening. I am not quite sure what I was expecting, but what I got really wasn't it. The chicken itself was cooked right. The breading was light. But that's about it. I assumed that some place that sold only chicken would have something special to offer. But nope. The chicken breading didn't really seem to have any flavoring. I suppose that's okay. What bothered me is that they only offer their "Cane's sauce" which suspiciously tastes exactly like Chick-Fil-A sauce. At least at Chick-Fil-A, you have the option of other sauces. The fries were exceptionally bland. They taste exactly like the crinkle cut fries you can buy in the frozen spot at a grocery store. The drinks were ridiculous. As Jim W pointed out, you get a horrible ratio of drink to ice. Literally my drink was 3/4 ice 1/4 drink. The real shining spot of the meal for me was the Texas toast. It was delicious. The outside of the toast was crunchy, but the middle was nice, goey and warm. I go to school at UNO and I find it unlikely that I would stop here for lunch. There are other places in the area that just offer better food. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with this place -- it's just pretty forgettable. If Raising Cane's ever came out with a spicy batter, I would be all over this place, but as it stands, I can get Chicken Fingers that taste basically the same for a cheaper price.

The chicken is kind of dry and flavorless. As a bariatric patient I can say it needs way more sauce to go down without getting stuck than it should. The world class lemonade is not very good at this location and I can only hope everything in this store improves overtime.

I'm not sure if I visited the same restaurant as the other reviewers. The address matches. Perhaps they should have tried something like Spencers.... The good: fast service. The counter moved things along nicely. Hot food - it was hot and fresh - period. The chicken - tender, breaded without too much or too little - it worked well with the Buffalo Ranch Sauce or the Dave's Hot Sauce, which they gave me after asking if I wanted it. Fries - All good. The not so good: the parking lot was packed solid. (Which again, doesn't make sense with the reviews on here!) We had to park in another lot around the corner. Not awful, not terrible - oh GOD - WE HAD TO WALK 50 FEET! I MIGHT DIE! Not. Anyway, 3 stars because it's fast food. I can't think of anything I'd diss about my experience.

Yum! I thought their strips were fabulous. mine were large, perfectly cooked and juicy. I really like the canes sauce. Like others have said the coleslaw is underwhelming but i think the chicken makes up for it! I cant wait to try Canes again and i hope that it will be just as good the second time.

Total disappointment. Texas toast was alright. Fries were okay. Cane's sauce was really gross and 29 cents, which is ridiculous. Sauce should be free like it is at every other restaurant of this quality. But the real kicker was this: They put the sauce in a container and then in its own huge styrofoam box. ARE YOU KIDDING!? TWO containers for one TINY thing of gross sauce. How environmentally irresponsible can you get!?!
