This spot is on my "Happy Hour" app for Omaha. After a long week working in Omaha, several of us guys wanted a place where we could unwind and have some beers. Kelley, our bartender, was incredible. A number of drafts are on tap. The dark wood bar set a great Irish atmosphere.

We stopped in while site seeing the Old Market. The place was dead, only us and the bartender and cook. The Philly chew steak sandwich was decent and so was the potato soup. Salad was typical out-of-a-bag hamster style. Food was decent for a pub. The bartender was fun and chill, we chatted for awhile in between her working. Beer selections were good. The patio outside is great for enjoying a beer and people watching. Low key pub when we were there. It's a little divey, but we'd probably go back with friends to chill.

'Cause I am your lady.... And you are my man!!" That's right -- O'Connor's has a jukebox that you can request songs including Celine Dion, which happened to be the birthday girl's favorite. But apparently, the rest of the bar were not fans... as the beautiful vocals of Celine easily cleared out the bar. Due to that, the bartender took great care of us... We ordered drinks that should have had two parts of the drink served separately, but the bartender served it together and the drink started curdling when it got to the table. When we voiced the concern, she was on top of it and insisted on getting us new drinks (even though we said we would have happily accepted it). She made us new drinks and they were superb! Originally, I was a bit quite concerned with the 2.5 star rating, but the drink specials, bartender's strive for excellence, accommodations and attentiveness has made me a fan of O'Connor's.

So as I cruise through the Old Market looking for a spot to drink besides my regular joints I often find myself in front of O'Connor's. I have some work friends that prefer Guiness to BLVD and we meet here also. This is a step up from the former name it went under but that's not saying much. The service is always great. Friendly and attentive. This isn't really about service. It's about selection. I find it to be really lacking. If there were more choices, this would be a great place. As it stands, if it weren't for the name this place would not succeed every day of the year. Right now it lacks, for me.

The only reason I am giving any stars is because the bouncers were cool and I was able to meet a few new people. But I still probably won't come back. Just not my type of thing. A buddy and I came here on a Saturday night around 11PM. It was ridiculously packed. I mean it was literally crowds of people from the doors all the way to the back. We waited over 10 minutes with no service so we left. We went several other places and wound back up here around 12:30 or so. It was STILL horribly packed. We decided to head to the opposite side of the bar to try and order drinks. It took us 10 minutes to walk through the crowd of people about 100 feet weaving in and out of groups and awkwardly making eye contact with people who were trying to do the same thing. On the plus side, I think a couple girls and I brushed hands once? Anyways we finally made it over and waited another 10 minutes for our drinks. There was some drunk who had climbed halfway up the employee only staircase in the back and a group of people trying to convince him to come down. I sat and watched for a while until he made it safely down and confessed he was wasted (Not the term he used). So we headed back to the opposite side of the bar again. Taking about 10 minutes with drinks in hand to do the same thing we had already done. We actually found an open table with 3 bottles of bud light that were still 90% full and sat down, finished our drinks, and booked it out of there. Yeah there were plenty of babes there but too many drunk college kids and slow service for me to come back.

My buddy and I popped in here around 5:30 or 6 for a few drinks. The place was pretty empty which was fine by me. We were there to hang out and talk. We started off with a couple of different scotches and then asked the bartender for two manhattans. i don't think they get that request a lot in here and the bartender (Chris) didn't have bitters but he just went next door to borrow some without batting an eye. After another drink or two we headed out and Chris literally ran down the street after me to return my gloves which i had left on the bar, and then again 2 minutes later to return my scarf which had fallen on the floor. Good guy, good bar, good selection of scotch and whiskey. I probably wouldn't come on a busy night because i hate drinking with amateurs but i will be back.

Stopped in a bit of lunch...wanted to try something new...Got there just before noon and place was dead, which is fine since I don't like crowds...a very nice bartender took my order, which was a bacon bbq cheeseburger with a side of their potato soup...the soup was great and worth coming back for by itself...and the burger was also pretty damn good...came out hot and tasty and I would absolutely order it again...the bartender was very nice and attentive and didn't charge me for my soda since the soda machine was on the fritz and it came out slightly flat...so that was a nice touch...I don't understand the low ratings but it seems people can't handle a nice little bar/pub that serves a good burger for a great price...

Awful. Steering clear from now on. I went to O'Connor's with two of my girlfriends this past St. Patty's Day weekend. Of course, it was busy while we were there, but not overly crowded. The bar staff and manager clearly have no training or experience for how to handle a busy night, which leads me to believe that most nights the bar is pretty dead and uneventful. So, we walked in and the three of us sat at the bar and ordered beers and each left our tabs open. One of the girls went to the restroom while we were waiting for our beers. On her way back from the bathroom a bouncer grabbed my friend by the arm and said that the bathroom smelled like puke after she was in there and she needed to leave the bar immediately. (Is it really a surprise that the bathroom smells like vomit on St. Patty's Day weekend?) Well, no my friend did NOT get sick in the bathroom, and their bathrooms were already disgusting to begin with. We had just received our beers and hadn't even had our first sip yet. I tried to reason with the bartender, telling him that she didn't vomit, and even if she had vomited in their toilet, it really wasn't their business. We were absolutely not trashed or wildly drunk by any means. In fact, that was only the second bar we had visited that evening. The bartender said he would get the manager so I could talk to her, but this female manager was extremely rude to me and said "I'm not dealing with this, we have a no vomiting policy, GET OUT!" Then, she proceeded to grab the full beer out of my and my friend's hand and have us two nearly sober girls escorted from the bar. If this wasn't bad enough, I quickly realized that we all left our tabs open and didn't have our cards with us. Before we were even outside I turned around to tell the bouncer that I need to grab all of our cards, where he decided to shout over me and tell me that we need to get out. Then, once he calmed down and listened to what I was saying, they let me back in to grab the cards. I told them I want the receipt and NOT to be charged. They told me I won't be charged, and there is no receipt, and they shooed me back out. LO AND BEHOLD, they actually DID charge us all for the beers after checking our online banking in the morning. All of this is simply humiliating and unnecessary. The staff overreacted and kicked three girls out who had just wanted to enjoy a beer and the cheerful Irish crowd for St. Patty's Day weekend. I will NEVER return back to O'Connor's. This is NOT a friendly atmosphere and the staff are extremely rude and seem to hate their job. I wouldn't suggest for anyone to go here, especially because the Old Market is filled with other local gems worth visiting with friendly staff. Don't waste your time here. Just don't.

We came to town and saw this place advertised in our hotel. We went there at 4:30 on a Friday. After ordering a drink, we asked for menus. They told us they don't serve food after 4p. I can't believe a place is ok serving drinks without serving food. First, it would bring in more money, second, do you really want people filling up on alcohol and not putting anything in their stomachs? The place was dirty. My friend scraped dried onion ring off of the table. Gross. So disappointed, we finished our 1 drink and left immediately.

O'Connor's on an average evening is a far cry from O'Connor's on St. Paddy's Day when it's uncomfortably full of revelers. Four of us wandered in to meet friends and there were zero patrons in the place. They don't serve food after 8pm, so that was a bit of a bummer as well. The bartender was sitting at the bar reading and watching SVU or something on one of the TVs. He grudgingly got up to help us and acted rather annoyed while doing so, then went back to watching his program. No music playing, just the TV and crickets... we skipped out ASAP after we were done with our beers.

We headed here after happy hour, it was still early and wanted to relax after our food coma. It was dead. Literally 3 other couples and the bartender. After about an hour we left. Fast forward about 4 hours later and a handful + more of drinks we headed back here. PACKED. And still the lone bartender. I guess the extra star is for home and remembering us earlier and pouring drinks for us over others.

O' how I love you O'Connors. This is my favorite bar in Omaha. Hands down. The guy at the door knew my friends and I by name and call me corny, it made me feel special. If I laid low for a bit, when I returned, he'd ask where I'd been. My mother wouldn't agree this was something special (she'd actually be pretty concerned) but I loved it. The bar is always packed on Friday and Saturday nights and it's typical to have a line out the door. There's lots of young-mid twenty year olds that frequent this bar and perhaps that was the main appeal to me in college. Unlike other bars in the Old Market, this one isn't full of douchebags or trashy girls. Big plus. They also have a jukebox, something I find essential in a bar. I went back recently and nothing had changed...it was a great feeling.

No alcoholic drinks ordered - I was trying the lunch yesterday. The place had around 10 people in it when I got there. The decor is kind of old and tired bar stuff. I seated myself, was attended to promptly, and ordered up their special (French Dip with Au jus) with a salad. The salad was a bowl-full, but the lettuce had seen better days. It wasn't brown, but it was soft and not crisp - you know, like it gets when you don't use it at home fast enough, and then you throw it away (hint, hint). The sandwich was actually pretty good. Cheese melted over the beef, and plenty of Au jus in the cup. The Diet Dr. Pepper I ordered tasted strangely like Regular Dr. Pepper. The bill was reasonable. I'm not sure I'll make it a regular place for lunch, but it wasn't bad.

Welcoming, warm pub. Friendly bartender, good drinks. Just what we needed on a winter evening. What a great find. We will be back the next time we're in town.

Terrible. We went to Omaha during the college world series (by accident), so O'Conner's was busy. Apparently that's never happened, because they had no idea how to handle it. My brother and I ordered beers and waited 20 minutes for them. When they came, they were way wrong. We tried to get the attention of the waitress, but she never came over. Finally I just went back to the bar, where she was hanging out (did I mention it was super busy?). I asked for the right beer and she apologetically promised to bring them right away. Another twenty minutes later, we were still waiting. We were so annoyed at this point that we decided to leave. We asked for our money back, and the waitress kept the tip. For keeping us waiting for forty minutes. Without drinks. Clearly she earned it. This place was the worst. Don't waste your money.

A good local hangout. Not the ideal place for tourists. The crowd is young 20's and the the pace is slow with the majority of customers just hanging out and having a good time with each other.

I was on a business trip to Omaha, probably my 12th visit to the Big O in the last 5 years. I've always enjoyed staying in the Old Market area, the majority of restaurants and bars are welcoming and worthy stops. We were wrapping up our night and decided to give this place a try, decent bar setup except for the complete waste of life behind the bar, who appeared to be a regular fixture in this place. I've wasted enough of my time on this place so will save the laundry list, in closing, unless you like to have your adult beverages served to you by a muppet barely able to form a sentence with the personality of a brick, avoid this place. Cheers to the owners, it shouldn't be a surprise why we were the only people in the entire place that night, if it is, the answer lies in the ape tending bar for you.
