This is a favorite for my husband and I! Best chicken fried Chicken ever and chicken and noodles are amazing! Cute restaurant, seems to cater to older folks but don't let that fool you! You will be so happy you tried this! Oh and the bread that they give you. Top notch!

Wow, what terrible food. The stroganoff was inedible. Seriously, inedible. The onion rings lacked seasoning. The sides were also bland -- carrots and corn. The mashed potatoes, awful! The blueberry bread pudding is just coffee cake. Lame! The only thing edible was the hot dog. But no different than a hot dog you get at a gas station. I will say we had the food delivered, so not as fresh as it could have been. But honestly, it would not have made much of a difference.

I had breakfast here last week. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles. They were delicious. I want to go back and just try the Fried Chicken Dinner. We got there super early, we were probably they first customers of the day. Our waitress was very nice and very attentive. I'm not a huge fan of fried chicken, but I really liked theirs.

I really like the idea of Jack and Mary's, it reminds me of home style cooking. I like to dip their French fries in the side of white gravy. Their country fried steak wasn't the best though. It lacked in breading and it would just slide off and the steak. I have them an extra star for offering delivery though!

Great comfort food and it has that small town diner feel with plenty of room full service bar. Awesome fried chicken, livers, steaks! We have never had a bad meal......a tip from your uncle Don

Had the "beef stroganoff" This is one of the worst dishes I have had. Lets start with what i said I had. I did not have stroganoff. What they call "beef stroganoff" is actually egg noodles, maybe roast beef, and a poorly done brown gravy. It is basically beef with gravy over noodles. Nothing in this dish tasted flavorfull, fresh, or well prepared. It tasted like it came out of a can. Horribly disappointed. Now I gave it two stars because another person ordered a club sandwich and did not finish. I had some and that was pretty good. this dish should be taken of the menu HORRIBLE!!!!!

I came here to experience the new location and the chicken, the service was slow they were busy but our waitress was super slow. Salad bar very limited. Chicken good but not great. Had lemon cake for dessert again not great. I won't be back.

Their chicken is so good. First there is quality chicken and the fried part is perfectly done and I love how salty it is not overpowering! The potatoes are Soo so good like none other. The gravy is SOOO creamy!! A lot of restaurants do this but I still love the fact it comes with bread and butter....

Ordered delivery through Eat24. They forgot the gravy to go with the meatloaf dinner. Which was annoying, but not the end of the world. I contacted Eat24 customer service, thinking maybe they could just knock a couple bucks off the total, since I feel like gravy is kind of an important part of meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and by the time they would be able to bring some gravy it would be too late anyway. The company that provided delivery (Food Caddie) then called me and said that the restaurant was "100% sure" that the gravy had been included in a separate container. I double checked and told them that it definitely wasn't there. So basically they think I am a liar just trying to get free stuff or that i have no idea what gravy looks like. Eat24 customer service said that the restaurant was unwilling to do anything about it, not that I was asking for anything huge. Needless to say, the meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes was really dry without any gravy to go on top. The chicken noodle soup was okay, but not a lot of actual chicken in it. Won't be ordering again due to bad customer service.

My son and I were in Omaha for a "Sunday Funday" and didn't want to eat at some chain restaurant. We were just kind of cruising the area, pausing in various parking lots to check Yelp reviews on a few different restaurants. We chose Jack & Mary's this time. My son ordered the fried chicken drumstick kids meal; mashed potatoes and brown gravy on the side. The gravy was a bit salty but the mashed potatoes were great! They appeared homemade (meaning there was not an instant-mashed-glue consistency). I ordered chicken 'n waffles from the brunch menu. The fried chicken was incredible; the batter was wonderfully crispy, the chicken moist, and the batter stuck to the chicken as it should even after biting into it. You can opt for cinnamon rolls instead of a bread basket while waiting for your food; that was a nice surprise. The rolls could use more cinnamon, but they were buttery and sugary and yummy. We will be back sometime to try the chicken & noodles!

I ordered from Jack and Mary's through Grubhub. Grubhub did great but I was disappointed in the food. The chicken pieces were the smallest pieces I've ever seen. Mashed potatoes were delish but baked beans were not good. Chocolate cream pie was awful and there was no crust. it was chocolate pudding with bad whipped cream. I was very disappointed and won't order from there again.

We go back and forth on best chicken in town, I lean towards Millard Roadhouse but my husband prefers Jack and Mary's. After having horrible service at the Roadhouse last time we were there, I would have to agree with him. Jack and Mary's is old school - as evident by the number of senior citizens in the place. The onion rings are phenomenal and the fried chicken is great. The sides are average, I think the veggies all came from a can. They advertise homemade desserts and the strawberry rubarb pie certainly tasted like it. This is a great go-to when you are in the mood for comfort food.

Me and my Wife tried this place for the first time Monday night, At first i thought it was Senior Citizen night... LOL.. Its like that all the time I guess. This restaurant has been around they say since the 70's .. Right when we walked in they had a poster that said ''Best onion rings in Omaha'' This seemed legit. I ordered the Chicken fried steak because they offered other chicken meals on there menu. I thought then maybe it was homemade. It was and it was delicious. I asked for County gravy but it was more of a chicken gravy? I wanted county gravy but i guess that was there county gravy. My wife ordered the Hawaiian chicken sandwich being we had a vacation in Maui two years ago. The chicken was cooked perfectly but something seemed to be missing.. She enjoyed it but also thought it could have been better. The waitress forgot to put in our order of onion rings but she seemed pretty busy so i let it slide. I didn't think they were very taste full , The only thing special about these were that they were lightly breaded. No seasoning at all. This was kind of a disappointment. Other then that everything else was perfect. The waitress took care of all of our needs.

Went on a recommendation from hotel staff.. Please take my recommendation and don't waste your money or time. Ordered the salmon on recommendation from waitress. Dry, overcooked and bland. The meatloaf was the same bland. The server was sweet, the cook must have gone out to fish for my salmon two tables that came in AFTER I did were served their food before my table was served. Overall experience was poor.

After reading some of these reviews I decided to take my kids to dinner here. I was hoping for some southern or comfort food but instead the grilled chicken was dry and tasteless. Omaha's best onion rings is right!!! Freshly cut large onions lightly breaded and fried to perfection!! Chicken fried chicken is where it's at!! Boneless breaded and fried chicken breast covered in white chicken gravy and served with home made mashed potatoes!!! Yum!!! This restaurant knows CHICKEN!!! My husband ordered the large chicken dinner fried...oh man!!! It was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection!! Lastly for dinner we had dessert, why? Because they were beautifully displayed in the front case. Obviously home made as well. We had coconut cream pie. Let me just say, there is a master pastry chef in that kitchen!! It was soooo good!!! And the portions were generous!! We were stuffed. The restaurant if full of older people and families. Kid friendly. Jack and Mary's is family owned and an Omaha Classic!! Stick to the chicken, that's what they do best!!! Our next visit I ordered chicken and waffles. I had to try it, curiosity got me!! I have to say, once again they nailed it!! Servers are friendly and customer orientated!! Not fancy, not fast, and not expensive. What it is, great home cooked comfort food!! You can't go wrong here!!

I had heard how good this place was and was disappointed. My Chicken Fried Steak was overcooked and the crust was a big piece just laying on the top. The server was confused most of the time. When she served dessert she wasn't sure what pie she was giving to us.

This is the first time we ever when to Jack and Mary's. we both had fried chicken. I the three piece and my lady the two piece. The chicken was very good as it was not greasy at all. The potatoes were very good. The meal was just enough as to have a piece of pumpkin pie as well as the bread pudding. The bread pudding was very good as it did not have raisins in it but blueberries. It was very good they plain pie was also good. This is a great place to bring the family as we will be coming back with our little one.

If you like fried chicken, this is the place to go. This is the only place I've had true chicken fried chicken. Normally it consists of a pre-breaded chicken patty, but not here. They have the same crispy and tasty coating on them as their fried chicken. Lunches were pretty much all under $10. I wasn't too impressed with the mashed potatoes and gravy (I don't think either were real) but the chicken is definitely worth the trip.

This is the kind of chicken noodle soup I love - thick, hearty, egg noodles, ladled over REAL mashed potatoes. Yeah baby, now that's some rib-sticking goodness. The chicken fried chicken/steak is always crisp and juicy and the gravy is delicious, it doesn't taste like a powder mix and it's definitely not from a can. I am not a big fan of fried chicken, something about gnawing on a chicken bone like a caveman is unappealing to me, but everyone who has ordered it has said it is some of the best they've had. Is it weird that I can't stand chewing on chicken bones but I have no problem eating gizzards? This place has great gizzards, believe me. They used to have incredible pie that was surely homemade (possibly by an old lady named Shirley), I don't know what happened to that but it's not the same so I don't even bother with dessert anymore. I have never had bad service, never had a bad meal, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates homestyle cooking!

I ordered my meal for delivery (used Omaha Carryout LLC) and got their wings and chicken fried steak. Wings were great. chicken fried steak was also very good. Had multiple choices of sides and i got the mashed potatoes, corn, baked beans and cole slaw. all was very good and appeared to be homemade.

I stopped in there today, after having driven past Jack & Mary's hundreds of times. I had heard that fried chicken was their specialty, and I wanted to try it. I would say I was disappointed at just about every aspect of my meal. I ordered the regular dinner off the lunch menu. The menu stated 3 pieces combo or all dark (the waitress did not ask my preference). I was asked if I wanted bread and butter, which I said yes. I received you slices of bread with butter too cold and hard to spread. The lunch took about 20 minutes to come out. When I received it, I found I was served a small leg, and piece of a thigh and a piece of a breast. The thigh was about 2 bites, and the breast was about 3 bites. When I say piece, it was exactly that. A breast was cut into chunks, looked like maybe 3 or 4 chunks to the breast, based on the size of the piece I received. The taste was average, under seasoned for my taste. I ordered mashed potato's and gravy for the side. This was OK, nothing special, but nothing to be disappointed in. The temperature of the chicken was just warm, I could definitely tell it was not fresh fried for me, so it left me to wonder why it took 20 minutes to bring out. The bill for the small lunch and a soda was $11.50. When I walked out the door I looked across the street to Boston Market, and wished I had went there instead. Nothing terrible, but not some place I would recommend or go back too.
