We ordered a half rack and a brisket sandwich. Ribs were very good but the brisket was very poor. In fact, we had no idea brisket could be done so bad. Ribs are a 4 star and the brisket gets zero because the crap was disgusting. Cole slaw was good.

I heard about this restaurant on the radio "BBQ franchise moving into Omaha, multiple locations" Figured I would try it out with a co-worker over lunch. The pulled pork sandwich I tried seemed to have a Jr. bun that you would get a bag of 8 at the grocery store for 89 cents. As for the mac and cheese served in an ice cream scoop to regulate how much you get. This would all be fine if I was ordering a kids meal or in a school cafeteria, but not for a $10+ dollar lunch. And yes expect to pay more than $10 if you choose to not go with the deal of the day (which would put you right at $9). The cost to quantity ratio was terrible and the taste did nothing to make up for the gap, far better BBQ elsewhere for less cost.

At least its food. I'm a fan of BBQ and i know that this is fast-food bbq, but I'd rather hit up Famous Daves and patiently wait for my food. I told the guy working that i wanted everything but pork. He looked at me like all i wanted was BUTT PORK. I dont want BUTT PORK.... I want everything but pork.

Super processed food. Not meaty ribs and every piece looked exactly the same. Very fatty brisket. Fairly pushy guys behind the counter.

We tried Dickies on a Saturday, late in the afternoon, which might be a sweet spot, the line wasn't bad and the employees were upbeat, generous with smiles and friendly. We tried the all of the meats except the ribs, but we'll be back! The brisket was tender and flavourful but what really knocked us out was the pulled pork! It was moist and tender and packed with flavour! There was a wide variety of sides and my husband liked the beans, i liked the mac and cheese and our friend loved the fried Okra. While the mac and cheese was pretty laid back, it was warm and creamy and not mushy. My first experience at this "fast food" bbq blew away any I have had at Famous Dave's. The BBQ was cooked to tender perfection, tasty and not tough!

Visited this place with my family on Sunday and was not disappointed. We were greeted promptly upon entering and seated ourselves. The place isn't that big but has plenty of seating. They serve their food on a line - order your meat, sides, extras, then pay. Condiments including 3 bbq sauces(sweet, original, spicy), drinks, and cutlery are towards the back. My wife and I shared a 3 meat plate (pulled pork, beef brisket, and turkey) sides (baked potato casserole, mac n cheese, baked beans, fried onion strings), and a drink. Also got a FREE kids meal for my son (meat, waffle fries n drink) because it was Sunday. The meats were all delicious. Paired them with the sweet and original bbq sauces. Pulled pork was great, brisket was tender, turkey was juicy and tender. The sides were also tasty, I especially liked the baked potato casserole and mac n cheese. Meals also come with a small soft roll and a mini portion of sliced onions and a pickle which was interesting. They also have FREE icecream and cones for customers every day! It does get busy but overall great family friendly place with tasty bbq. Will be back!

The food makes up for the short line wait. I'd rather wait for made to order than get mass produced food quicker.

We had been looking forward to the opening of Dickey's Barbeque Pit since we heard about it opening. We visited on a Saturday evening around 6:00 pm and were told this was their third day. They had quite a line which reached the front door. My husband wanted to order the ribs, but we were told that they were out of ribs until about 9:00 pm. They had plenty of staff working and I would give them a pass on some things since they are newly opened and probably working out some kinks. There were a few things, though, that I could not overlook. One was that by the time we got our food to the table, it was cold. I had ordered the baked potato casserole, but was disappointed to find that it was just a cup of mashed potatoes (not what I expected). The BBQ beans were good and my husband enjoyed the jalapeño beans which were slightly thicker and spicier than the BBQ beans. I had a sandwich that was on a "buttery corn bread bun" but it really just tasted like a toasted regular bun. I personally think that every BBQ joint should have some form of corn bread on the menu. Hopefully things will get better as they get some experience under their belt.

i was on a BBQ sides tear and since i was in the area picked up the loaded baked potato casserole and a mac and cheese. i am picky about mac n cheese but i would get Dickeys again in a heartbeat. the baked potato casserole was also VERY tasty. i did reheat it in the oven and topped it with seasoned sour cream and chives that i had here. but without it it had a lot of flavor. i will come back again to try out the meats ( limited budget) . Dickeys is.tucked in the Burlington Coat factory strip mall right off Center there is parking in front and more parking around the place. counterpeople were very nice and welcoming. i would come back again. i have frequent mac and cheese cravings.

Tried the 3 meat dinner with brisket, pork, & ribs to go...not impressed or happy at all. I work less then 5 min away & it was cold by the time I got back. Brisket was just thick chopped or sliced chunks, brisket should pass the pull test...not just crumble when you pick it up. The "fall off the bone" ribs were more like tug & pull off the bone, very little bark but out of everything had the most flavor. The pork was just dry tasteless processed meat, looked like they ran it through a cuisinart. Sides I tried were the mac & cheese, very cheesy but noodles were just mushy. Same texture as something you get in the hospital. Next was the potato casserole aka instant bacon flavoured mashed potatoes with some cheese on top. Disappointed with both, figured with a place like this popping up a new location ever month they'd be a lot better. Overall don't waste your time or hard earned money on going there.

This is some good barbecue. The pulled pork and brisket are nice and juicy. I also recommend getting either the potato salad or macaroni & cheese because both could potentially make your taste buds explode. They'll thank you later though.

At times I can be a bit of a BBQaholic. When I crave it I want it...gotta have it! Problem is there is not a good BBQ joint that is in a convenient location to me. I was pretty happy that a well known BBQ place was opening in central Omaha, even if it was a chain. After reading very mixed reviews on Dickey's in other locations, I was anxious to try it. I stopped in on a Monday to get dinner to go for myself and my friend. Smaller place...located in the old Maggie Moo's ice cream shop. The employee behind the counter was very welcoming, asking me if I'd ever eaten at a Dickey's. He went out of his way to tell me how he had never heard of them or eaten there until this location opened, and he said he had never eaten such good BBQ in his life. I was excited! After straining my neck to read the menu which was hung high above the counter, I decided on the 1/2 rack rib dinner, and the pulled pork sandwich dinner. Was looking forward to trying their BBQ baked beans...but they sold out of them. What? How does that happen? They said they would "probably" get more in tomorrow. So apparently they don't make them fresh, as was obvious for the ribs they took out of a holding warmer wrapped in waxed paper. The pulled pork was stored the same way. Even at that as I drove home and smelled the food I was excited to get home to try it. Disappointment followed as I took my first bite of the ribs. There was really very little meat on the bones, and after pulling two of them out I was able to tear off enough meat for a bite. Was it tender...yes...it sorta fell off the bone, but it was dry. I was barely able to detect a smokiness to it...it was just bland. Went on to the pulled pork sandwich. Same problem...tender but very dry and a lack of flavor. I was surprised to see the sandwich was topped with sliced pickles and onions. Odd...not something I'd ever want on my pulled pork sandwich. Even after removing them the taste of pickles had already seeped into the pork. I ended up drenching the sandwich with BBQ sauce, which I never would do to good smoked BBQ. I didn't use their BBQ sauce as I have my own favorite at home. Once I covered the sandwich with BBQ sauce it was edible, although I still couldn't cover up the taste of the pickles. For sides we had macaroni and cheese, green beans and baked potato casserole. All tasted just as you would expect...nothing memorable. Would have liked to try the baked beans, but honestly after everything else I don't feel like I missed anything. For the $20 plus dollars the meal cost, I would have been better off driving out of my way to one of my favorites. Stick with the local owned BBQ's...Boxer BBQ in CB, Hartland BBQ in Benson, or even drive to We'll Smoke U in Gretna...they all know what they are doing. Still craving BBQ after my visit to Dickey's...

I don't ever really crave bbq but my husband has been hinting for me to try this place. It wasn't very busy but than I came in during that awkward time between lunch and dinner. We were greeted as soon as the guy was finished starting the order before us. I ended up ordering the pulled pork big barbecue sandwich with potato salad and waffle fries. Why I ordered a pulled pork sandwich instead of glorious ribs? Probably, to save extra bucks! And I was punished. The pulled pork was a bit dry and I wasn't about to drench it in BBQ sauce just to cover up the dryness. The two sides I ordered were perfect. The potato salad was more yellow than usual but I didn't let the strange over yellowing defer me from trying it. And of course I ordered fries. I love fries! If you're looking for BBQ on the go, I do recommend this place but if there is more time than head somewhere else! It's a BBQ chain, so you can't really expect perfection!

I have never written an update review, but feel I must here. I don't work in this area anymore, and so I haven't visited in awhile. I had the urge tonight on a Sunday for some BBQ and knew this would be the only place close that would be open. Service was still good, but the ribs were just nowhere close to where they were in the first few months of them opening. Maybe it was because it was the evening and they put the ribs in a warmer. They really used to be fall of the bone, and now they are not even pull off the bone...it was literally tug and fight off the bone. The mac and cheese is still dull and the waffle fries are still hot and excellent (not that hard to drop some waffle fries). Their original sauce is still one of my favorites. The ribs were just so awful and actually tasted a bit funky as well. Pretty disappointing return visit.

First, I love BBQ Turkey and I have had it all over Omaha and this place was by the longest distance known to man the worst. I read a few years back that this chain had issues with accidentally poisoning customers, I think they might have been the lucky ones. The smoked "turkey" is a solid chunk of lunch meat. Think a solid chunk of rubber white meat product. "YUM" The people working the counter were like keystone cops running around bouncing into each other and arguing (kept looking for the candid camera). I assume the bossy fella was the manager/owner and the others were employees confused and lost. You get your meat on a plastic tray with a piece of wax printed paper. They dump your moc-turkey in a pile with the oily mess running all over and then a little paper bowl of potato salad (I think it was potato salad). We ordered fries too (at 12:30 on a Monday) but they didn't have any ready so we were sent to our table for a 10 minute wait to get the fries which were REALLY done when we got them. But lucky for us they have those little tiny foil ketchup packages for waffle fries, so you get to spend a better part of the afternoon opening those dang things for the teaspoon of product. But I think of all of that, of the nasty food (which tastes just as wonderful as it looks), the sauces that were 1/2 water and 1/2 tomato sauce... The best part was the as we were paying there was another customers baked potato that she had been waiting for sitting in the cashier area. We did out entire transaction over the top of her potato. Credit cards back and forth and it just sat that. Getting cold, with us breathing into it, with our hands over it... G R O S S. Lets just say we won't be back. But if you want to try it - you go right ahead.

Worst BBQ ever hands down! We had the ribs, they had a funky taste. The sauces were sweet, original and spicy, horrible! Onto the sides, terrible!!!! We tried the potato salad, which is made out of fake mashed potatoes, gross baked beans, and tasteless fake baked potato casserole. There was nothing we liked, it is also expensive! Don't waste your time!

7:00 on a Monday night. No one in front of us. Ordered the brisket and the pulled pork with fries and beans for my sides. The only thing on my plate that was Hot were the beans. The fries, which they made fresh for our orders were chewy and cold by the time we sat down. The meats were barely above room temperature. The layout of this place is strange as well. Service was damn near absent. No greeting when we walked in, and the two men working were more involved in their personal conversation than taking our order. So... To wrap it up. Service was poor Food was worse Positive side is you get to keep their big yellow obnoxious cup and there's free ice cream- which was empty and I didn't get any. I have no intentions of going back.

Bottom line: If I'm in the neighborhood and need some take-out BBQ in a hurry, I'll come back. The BBQ isn't bad for a chain store. Here are a few things the experts say to look for in a BBQ joint: Cop cars, Beemers, and worn out pick-up trucks parked side-by-side: Yup Wood pile in back: Are you kidding? Not here in a strip mall. Notice to customers that they might run out of meat, because it's cooked slow: Yup Several sauces, including a house sauce: Yup On this visit, the meat (ham for me and pulled pork for my companion) was nicely smoked, and not too dry. The meat is served without sauce. I really liked the sauces I tried: all were somewhat sweet and not at all vinegary. The sides, unlike the meat, all seemed like they might have come out of a can. Portions were small and creativity was absent. Prices are average for this kind of restaurant: $5-10 for an entree, plus $2 for a side and $1.75 or so for a drink. With a kitchen on one side of the narrow dining area and windows on the other, there's no room for decor, so the only atmosphere is "crowded." The tables were all a bit greasy, late in a busy lunch hour. I think I'll order my meal to-go next time. Parking is horrible near the store; a Starbucks and a Subway share the building. There's plenty of parking in the "main" lot of the grocery store/strip mall, but you have to be quick to survive the dash across the traffic lanes. Nearby alternatives: Ozark, half a mile to the east, is rustic and inconsistent. Famous Dave's, a mile to the south, is okay if you want to sit down and take your time.

The food was delicious! We got the picnic pack and chose beef brisket for our meat, and macaroni and cheese, and fried okra for the sides! It feed all four of us...the only draw back was they forgot to give us rolls...but they called us right away about it, and gave us a free sandwich when we came back to pick them up! Delicious! We will eat here again for sure!

For a chain/fast food bbq joint, this place is good. Their meats are decent, don't care too much for their sides. Order the Wednesday special The Westerner. It's a pulled pork and sausage sandwich Their chicken is good also. If you need a quick bbq fix and are near here I would give this place a try.

First off understand Dickies is "fast food style BBQ" it is not a $30 / plate rib joint. Food is all (for the most part) pre-prepared and carved/scooped up on your plate as you order, this location is no different. Important that you set your expectations correctly, if you are a Dickies regular than the one item I will mention is this is a much smaller location. I had a 3 meat plate, pulled pork, beef brisket, and spicy cheddar sausage. All was exactly what I expect from other dickies, fast, good and filling. I recommend the Mac and cheese and jalapeño beans, fantastic sides. Service was good, was greeted when I walked in like most every dickies the meat and sides guy was friendly and helped explain the sausage (I usually get hot links at Texas and Colorado locations). The cashier was super nice and I even talked with the manager recommending they offer beer like some of the other Dickies (because beer and BBQ is more American than just BBQ). Overall very happy and can't wait to return on my next Omaha trip!
