The pizza itself was good, crust could be crispier...i dont know why thwy have a two star review...i feel like it should atleast be a 3. The atmosphere just wasnt doing it for me though. The decor clashes. Good pizza tho for sure...good place for kids for sure

I have always liked their pizza in particular the hamburger. The place was bland and now after a restaurant make over it really looks nice and appealing inside. The pizza was very good too. I think they changed it but we really liked both the pepperoni and hamburger. It was thin crust which we normally eat. They have a new menu and some delicious looking pasta but didn't try that this time. Definitely coming back! !

Well, golly. I heard that Restaurant Impossible had done this place over. I've only watched the show once, and it seemed like a hack show. This visit to this restaurant strengthens that impression. But this is a review of a restaurant, not a tv show. Or can the two be separated? They've changed some decor elements, but it's still the same big loud echo chamber it always was. The new decor is anything but cohesive. I prefer the old kitsch to this slapdash "upgrade." One thing I didn't like about this place before was the crust. Neither crisp nor chewy, thin but tough; serviceable, but nothing special. Now it's crispy for certain, but with little flavor or character. Rolled, cut, baked on a perforated pan, it's now a perfectly adequate food service pizza. Seviceable, but nothing special. They've changed the cheese too. I don't remember there being anything wrong with the old cheese, but they changed it anyway. It's not better. Not much flavor, not much texture. Going to have to watch this episode to see why the tv show dude thought this cheese was worth changing to. And if he was upgrading ingredients, why did he leave them serving canned mushrooms? Hack. He took a product with at least some individuality and turned it into boring standard stuff. It's now the kind of pizza that, if you got it at a gas station, you'd say, "This is really good for a gas station!" Once upon a time, I'd hit this place once in a while just because it was different. Can't think of a single reason, either bland character- free pizza or half-baked decor upgrade, to try it again.

I was going to try their new food when the place relaunched. I did not eat there after seeing the bathroom. It still has one of those rolling cloth hand towels on the wall. I asked if the employees that cook food use that thing and the answer was yes.

We tried Be'ne it was our personal Friday Family Night and because we had heard it got a makeover, overall, it was just ok. I thought it was a little pricey, for a 16 inch pizza and calamari sticks we paid close to $30...we even got water to try and save money. The calamari sticks were hard for me to get down...super thick and bland....but my toddler boys liked them, and the marinara that came with it had good flavor. The pizza was just ok, the sauce didn't taste as flavorful as the marinara. We got half of our pizza just cheese for the boys and the other half The Sicilian. My real issue was the lack of service..... when you get there you go up to the counter to order, and that's fine, but it's super congested because they keep everything for all the tables right there next to where people order...napkins, plates, silverware, straws, par. cheese, and red pepper flakes. Also it would have been courteous of them to at least mention to us where the highchairs are located and maybe even ask if we wanted one. They where not in plain sight and I had to search the restaurant for them. I finally found them in the hall behind the arcade where the bathrooms are. We didn't get to spend a whole lot of family time together because every time we need something I had to search around for it myself...I think they need to have someone keeping an eye on the dining room and helping guest when they need it. Also at the counter the guy who rang us up said they could cut our pizza into squares so it would be easier to handle for the boys...but when it came it wasn't....not a huge deal, but add everything else and I would say...all around, the experience and food are mediocre.

I'm writing this to give my fellow Restaurant Impossible viewers an intricately detailed answer as to how the restaurant is doing now. But if you're looking for a quick summary: this place is not a restaurant so much as an arcade with food. The food is decidedly "bleh". If you want a bite to eat while your kids burn quarters, this place is okay. Otherwise, hard pass. Now for details: SERVICE We stood for several minutes at an empty front counter before being greeted by the wife who was upset at having been made fun of on the episode. She's very nice, gregarious, and immediately asked us if we had seen the show. She chatted a bit about her experience with RI and with one other reality TV show. We also overheard her talking about the show with some other customers at their table. The service after we ordered our food was decently quick. It was 3 in the afternoon, and the restaurant was nearly empty. It's self-service only - you order at the counter and take your own napkins/silverware/etc to the table, but they deliver your order to the table for you and bus it for you. Also, C A.'s comments about the owner's responses to Yelp reviews are spot on. Bob L. does not know how to respect customers or do public relations. AMBIANCE The R.I. crew did a good job with this place, though there's nothing mind-blowing. It's tasteful. The posters don't seem authentic, they seem to have just been placed there to avoid having empty wall spaces. This place is definitely loud. It's a big, echoey space, and the noise from the arcade was noticeable. The music was a little loud, too. Had there been other diners, this place would have been difficult to talk in. My biggest complaint is that the decor does not match the feel of the restaurant. It's nice, tasteful, modern, there are flowers on tables....and yet it's self-serve? Bit of a clash. The restrooms are still the same ugly green color as the restaurant used to be. Instead of paper towels or air dryers, they have a big blue towel on a rotating loop. As another Yelper mentioned, these are not the greatest - you're never sure if they're changed often, it can't be as hygenic. When I went in, the towel was actually hanging towards the floor, not looped into the machine. A sign on the machine said to not use the "soiled" towel when it's in that state. The desert counter had some bins and dirty cups stacked on it. It's not apparent whether it's in use, which is a waste. FOOD The chef did listen to Robert on one thing: they put a ridiculously big piece of broccoli on top of my chicken parm to make the dish look bigger. Unfortunately, the broccoli was tasteless and drowned in goopy, oily cheese. The chicken itself, like everything else in this place, was under-salted and under-seasoned. The spaghetti underneath tasted like something you'd get out of a decent frozen meal. Ditto for the garlic bread. The chicken tenders were similarly underseasoned, and tasted baked rather than fried. The french fries were overdone and slightly burnt. The onion rings were, you guessed it, underseasoned with little flavor. I will say one positive thing about the food: it all came out hot and freshly cooked. But it didn't make up for the lack of flavor in the food. The menu was a little disappointing, too. We noticed that they were not selling the stuffed mushrooms Robert made on the show. ARCADE There are a good variety of machines, and they appear to be in good working order. The shooting games in particular worked more reliably than they do at most arcades. The pinball machines were okay, the Wizard of Oz game is particularly good. In one of the claw machines, they have a boxed figurine with a 50 dollar bill rubber banded on top. I think this is a bit dishonest. Claw machines do not have the dexterity or grip strength to pull a bill out from under a rubber band. Putting unlikely but achievable prizes in the machine is one thing, putting in intentionally unwinnable prizes is another. Most games are 50 cents a pop, which is high for some of the claw machines given their payout rates. I saw several people put 50 cents into the candy claw machine and only one of them got a tootsie roll. The back aisle is so small that games on opposite sides of it can't be simultaneously played. The total arcade size is too small to keep most people entertained for more than 30 minutes - dedicated gamers are much better off at bigger venues or places dedicated to one machine type. OVERALL The food seems to be the same as it was when Robert arrived - nothing offensive, nothing good. If this place intends to be an arcade with incidental food service, they should expand the arcade and ditch the pretense of being a real restaurant. If they did that, they might earn 3 or 4 stars, but for now they're a 2.

This was my first time trying Be'ne. I heard they recently had a makeover so I thought I'd give it a go. Came in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. They were not very busy. First impressions are important. I was greeted by the view of several (nearly HALF of the tables) unbussed. Nice. We went up to the counter to order. Problem was, there were no menus. So we had to have the lady describe the pizzas. Awkward. The prices are steep. $22.00 for a 16-inch. We ordered the Gracie and a side of raviolis. Finding a clean table was a challenge. The young woman who brought out our raviolis placed them on our table and walked away. No smile, no "Here you are," nothing. Customer service is extremely important to me, and so far, Be'ne is losing points with me. Rudeness aside, the raviolis were delicious, served with marinara sauce. Next I heard the cook yell, "Order up!" from the kitchen. I knew that was our pizza. The lady who had delivered our raviolis was now slowly bussing the tables. So the cook brought our pizza out to us in a timely fashion. It was somewhat greasy, and not evenly sauced. One half of the pizza was nearly dry, while the other half was drowning in sauce. The crust was crispy. The taste was different, sort of like a Valentinos pizza, only more expensive. A makeover makes the place look pretty; however, poor customer service and the sight of hours of unbussed tables plus steep prices ruined the experience for me. Doubtful I will return.

First things first.... greeting people when they first arrive should be a given. Coming into a new place you've never been that's kinda important. The atmosphere seemed alittle doll other then having a arcade available for kids. The games are expensive to play. But they offer incentives to win cash on some of the games if you beat the high score. Now back to the food prices, sky high I'd say for this area.. almost 18$ for a medium specialty pizza. Your kidding right.... the pizza isn't even homemade. Its frozen crust. where's the wow factor.. now yes i can understand the ingredients that are put on some of these specialty pizza could go well with eachother. Serving 7 ich , 12inch and 15 inch. Makes me sad... i had the medium 12 inch pizza with pepperoni, it only comes one size and its thin to medium. I i bet if this place went with homemade dough they could possibly get that wow factor. I might try this place again. I wish you well.

I know this is going to sound strange, but for some reason whenever we get takeout/catering at work from Bene it always impresses me. But when I've dined in for lunch, I've been unimpressed. Lunch can be a little spendy (even for the daily specials), so I'd recommend skipping the salad and going for a specialty pizza or something to share with other members of your group. Just finished some spinach chicken leftovers from a work lunch and it was pretty good. Actually it was a little charred (a nice word for blackened), but I like it like that.

Food quality is very poor. Prices very high. For the life of me I cannot understand why anyone would eat here when there are so many better choices. If you like pizza this is not a good choice.

Food is great and I would give this restaurant 4 stars but the service isn't so hot. Every time we've gotten take out the people working the counter seem to be put out by having to work there. A smile goes a long way......
