We were passing through on a summer Tuesday and decided to stay in this town. There are a lot of eateries but this one just looked interesting so we ended up here for dinner. It was a seemingly plain and simple truck stop type cafe and I suppose that's what it is but it was great. It was half-full of mostly locals (we know this because diners at three tables struck up conversation with us and they all lived withing a half-hour of the place) and the staff was friendly, fast and efficient. I had a French dip, mashed taters and a salad and Dana had a big chef's salad. The food was great - fresh and tasty and not pricey at all. The people were great and I felt it was just the right kind of place to end a day of travel. As a plus for travelers looking for a quick food stop and pit stop, it is right off the freeway exit, there is a travel store and fuel in the adjacent building so you can stop without looking around for different things. Add to that a WalMart across the freeway and you're all set for anything. I'll certainly eat here again next time through.

On visiting relatives in the area we sometimes visit this establishment . I don't know why . It always sounds like a good idea until we step into the place. The service plain sucks and we vow not to come back but then we do, more then likely because there is not much around, I am sure if there was a lot more options this place would not be open. The staff seems to pay more attention to the locals chit chatting then they do with the customer sitting in the back booth . The place is a dump. definitely needs a remodel but since they more then likely don't make enough money that will never happen. For some reason these kind of places don't care to update their establishments . Now onto the food. Its nothing special at all. in fact I usually end up with a "why did I even eat that attitude " . the hash is not good at all and taste something funky. the coffee is horrible they really need to clean the coffee makers. I do say I like the bacon (that's the only reason why it got two stars ) but then again its hard to screw up bacon. I vow not to go back, but I know we will, I wish there was more options in the area. maybe I will just do McDonalds next time, at least our expectations wont be high there at all.

Cockroach capital... Not sure why the state hasn't closed them. Eat here if you enjoy sharing your food with a few cockroaches. Gross!!

Okay, I let me just preface this by saying that there's not a lot of dining options in the middle of Nebraska, outside of fast food chains. So, we were pretty excited when we found a diner, when on road trip through Nebraska, that had decent reviews and a menu with a variety of options. When we walked in, we weren't sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves. So, we stood there until the lady behind the counter, belted out to seat ourselves. For the next few minutes we wandered around restaurant trying to figure out where we were supposed to sit. Many of the booths had rips in the seats & some of the tables were dirty. We finally found a suitable table & the waitress came around. She rolled her eyes and said "this was going to be fun..... " If we hadn't of been starving with several very cranky children we would've just left right then. Finally, we ordered. It took a long time to get our food. If you're in a hurry this is not the place, for sure. However, to my surprise my breaded chicken sandwich was actually quite delicious. The salad bar was clean and the Lettuce fresh, but that's about the only positive things I could say about it. My advice, if you're going to drive through Nebraska... pack a lunch.

I got the Kirk nebraskaland, the biscuits were microwaved with gravy over them. The coffee was like sock water, didn't finish anything. The booth I sat in looked like Jack the Ripper got to it and when I went to the bathroom I almost chucked my biscuit as the stench of sewage was so strong that I only had enough tolerance to wash my hands and go.

We went there to eat and watch the game. We had breakfast. The food was good and fast and the service was good too! The ambiance fits in with the town, stuck back in time.

So let's give this place a proper review... My husband and I are only staying in town for the night and we are so glad that we stopped here for dinner. This place is NOT a fast food restaurant. Don't expect your drinks and meal all in one fowl swoop TAKE YOUR TIME and enjoy the country home cookin that this place provides. Now on to reviewing the food. My husband ordered the burger & fries. Hope you're not a bun eater because this burger is served on some well buttered toast. Needless to say, the burger tasted great and the fries were perfectly crispy. I ordered the prime rib and have absolutely no regrets. It came with the salad bar, choice of potato, roll, and juice for dippin your meat into. This place is a great stop for good food and eating on a budget. I hope this review helps you out in making a decision to eat here. Enjoy!

Classic American roadside diner, unassuming, quality food and a very reasonable price. Staff was personable and efficient. Offers free wifi!

This place is not a looker but serves a great prime rib sandwich. Having eaten in just about everyplace in Lexington this is the one that I would recommend hands down over all of the competition.

Can't tell you how the food was, because there was no service. We did get water, but after waiting 10 min and no one came to take our order we left and went to Wendy's. We had stopped here last year and ate. The service was slow then too. They have to hire more help!

No service. Seated our selves with 2 waitresses in sight. Waited 15 min without greeting or anyone asking for our order before walking out. Don't waste your time on this place.
