How does Eileen's NOT have a review?! While I live in Texas, a stop at Eileen's is a must every time I go back for a visit. I grew up on these cookies! I have no idea what they do to make them so good but it's something special. The frosted sugar are my favorite but the moster cookies are a close second for me as well. Check them out when you are in the area and the smell alone will sell you.

Nice buffet and very reasonably priced. $5.99 lunch and $6.99 supper! Not a huge selection but plenty for the price. Clean and friendly. Will definitely keep going back. They also have carry out and a drive thru!

Tacos Las Palmas

Reviews:
I consider myself somewhat of a foodie, I rarely eat at chain restaurants. We were visiting Grand Island and looking for somewhere to eat and I came across Tacos Las Palmas. Like anyone on yelp, I read the reviews and looked at the pictures. We decided to try it out and I am so glad we did! It was amazing, fresh and authentic Mexican food. It was not too pricey for what you get and the people were very friendly. The fajitas were great, perfect thickness for the meat, grilled in front of you and not shredded! Definitely try the Horchata for your drink, it's perfect and refreshing! If you're reading this, let me decide for you, go eat at this great place. P.S. They have a food truck in the parking lot that I assume stays open later than the restaurant.
Excellent authentic Mexican food, unlike the usual Americanized version so often served in the Midwest. Very quick service.
I got the cheese enchiladas. I live in Arizona so know good Mexican food and this rocks! Definitely will be returning, if I end up back in the area.. The food is flavorful and the service is nice. Doesn't look very nice from the outside but it's great!

Amazingly warm and friendly service along with excellent food always make for a pleasurable dining experience. We arrived late on a Saturday night, grubby and cranky from a day at the state fair, with a sleep-deprived 3 year old in tow. The hostess didn't even bat an eye. My wife ordered ordered something complex and marginally off menu, and she replies "we've never done that before, but let's try and you can tell me if you like it!" The food was so fresh and tasty to the point that I realized I was making yum-yum noises at one point, and I don't think I was the only one at the table doing so. A limited menu, but one that showcases excellent talent in the kitchen and a thorough knowledge of the ingredients. I will be back very soon indeed.
Have not been to a Vietnamese restaurant before so didn't know what to expect. The owner explained everything and was very attentive as to what to put on. It was Excellent Very fresh ingredients I had a noodle soup with meatballs and tripe. Something different and I would have it again. Nice family. Go there
Stopped here on our road trip from Boston to California. Wouldn't have expected a good pho place in the middle of Nebraska, but it exists! It was the first time my boyfriend has had Vietnamese food. I've tried to convince him on several occasions but he's not a big fan of soup. He got the vermicelli bowl and subbed the grilled pork for chicken. It was excellent and great portions of chicken, shrimp, and fresh veggies. I ordered a small order of pho with meatballs and sliced steak. It was also very good and came with all the fixings. This was a really nice, clean family establishment. The customer service is great. The owner was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of. Although we're probably never going to be near Grand Island ever again, I'd definitely come here again

Jims Gyros

Reviews:
Gyros are the best I've had any place I've lived in the Country! Need to try the Greek and regular salads, they look delicious. Small, homey atmosphere where you can watch the cook (Jimmy) prepare your food. Employees are friendly and polite. Only negative I have is the side orders of fries or rings are very small in size/portion.
It's so refreshing to have a restaurant such as Jim's Gyros with their excellent food and service. The meat is salivating delicious. We traveled from Greeley NE to enjoy the food. Highly recommended!
It's a little small restaurant with delicious tasting food. I've always gotten the philly gyro, it includes mushrooms, green bell peppers, onions, steak and cheese. Customer service is great, nice and courteous employees. I would definitely recommend this awesome place to anyone. I will be going back there again :)

staff was nice but food was only ok . this well not be the best hotdog or hamburger you have ever had . it wasn't bad but deffinently not 5 stars . prices were cheap and service was fast . i'd eat there again .
Can't go wrong with the famous Coney Dog! YUM YUM YUM! And the homemade fries were great!
If you live I the area, or are just passing through, don't miss this terrific family owned establishment. We were in luck because 88 year old Gus (the 2nd generation owner) was there when we arrived, as was his son (3rd generation), who runs the place. When he heard we had come from N. J., Gus regaled us with stories of his time in the Army (1948 Ft. Dix, N. J.) and adventures in & around the N. Y. C. area. We then heard some very interesting, humorous stories about Grand Island. The gals who served us could not have been nicer & it really was like we were visiting. Oh yeah...THE FOOD....The Coney Dogs & Black and White malted were just great.

The best tamales I had in decades. Better than my grandmother's and aunts. Usually restaurant tamales aren't good but these are moist, meaty and have a really good masa mixture. I can't wait to visit Grand Island again. I'll have these to look forward to every time hopefully.
I had to write a quick review this place...I found it just like every other yelper did, and I too was skeptical bc the lack of reviews like one of the other Yelpers wrote. Let me just tell you, this place is the REAL DEAL! It's as authentic as being in Mexico! I had a few different things (see pics) and ALL WAS SLAMMING!!!! After eating in the restaurant I went over to the bakery side where as soon as you walk in you're slapped in the face with a killer aroma of baked goods....Needless to say I grabbed some sort of Mexican pastry there and it was good as well. If I am ever in this neck of the woods again I'll stop by here for sure!
Mmmmm love coming here to satisfy my taco cravings. I'm from Santa Ana, CA plus I'm mexican so I'm a mexican food snob. This place is pretty great. Haven't tried the other things on the menu but the tacos are delicious! I really wish they had horchata.

Farmer’s Daughter Cafe the

105 N Walnut St
Grand Island, 68801
Reviews:
This is a small cafe that may be focused on their older community that prefers limited seasoning. Staff was nice and friendly, but the food could use a bit more personality. Definitely not a place to get large portions of food. Pancakes are average sized and their biscuits and gravy was homemade but not the best in the area. If your running through town and looking for a fast friendly breakfast this is your place. Just keep your expectations in check.
I stopped in this little restaurant while passing three Grand Island to try out their breakfast. It was by far one of the best decisions I had made all day. I had their country fried steak, Eggs, hash browns, toast, and coffee. It was not long at all till the friendly staff brought my food and everything I ate was great! It is a small friendly mom and pop atmosphere. I most definitely recommend it and will be back next time I'm in town!
Really family feel The breakfast we had was excellent Just going thru Nebraska on our way home great place really friendly with good home cooking

I must be going insane. This is hands down, the best sandwich place to eat in Grand Island. I'm sorry, but the three people reviewing this place are simply wrong. I haven't used them as a catering service but I have eaten here at least 50 times or more. They have amazing sandwiches, excellent soups, wonderful cookies, and a little known secret called breakfast! If the owner is working ask him to make you his special. Whatever he makes, I can assure you it will be amazing! I have lived many places, Los Angeles, Seattle, and the Chicago area I have yet to find a sandwich place that beats Sutter deli. If you like huge greasy portions with a pound of french fries, maybe this isn't your place, but if you have a taste for fresh products and real food, you will not be disappointed.
Fresh ingredients, unique and flavorful sandwiches, perfect ham and bean soup. Very yummy and healthy.
This place is great! They have vegetarian options and friendly staff. I'm so glad we detoured off the interstate for lunch here!

Hands down, best pizza I've ever had, and I've traveled all over the U.S. I'm originally from Lincoln, but my husband's grandmother lives in GI and we go to Wave every time. They have a lot of options for toppings if you make your own, but plenty of specialty options as well. Great sandwiches and salads. It's more of a bar atmosphere, so we go during the week and during the day since we have a toddler.
This pizza place was legit to me. I met with a bunch of coworkers here for dinner and we sat outside in the back. There were 10 of us (6 came before the group I was in) and there was plenty of seats. There were only a couple inside but the weather was nice which was why a lot more were outside. Parking was limited so street parking so I guess it could be a hit or miss. The group of 4 I sat with decided we wanted two Long Board-sized pizzas which were the large size. On one pizza, we ordered half of the Bonzai Pipeline (Boogie Board size was $7.19 and Long Board size was $17.99) and half of the Lover's Point (Boogie Board size was $8.19 and Long Board size was $21.99). The other pizza was the Manly Beach (Boogie Board size was $8.19 and Long Board size was $21.99). We also ordered a couple pitchers of beer. The pizza took a very long time to come out and it really could be that the pizza just took that long to cook. We talked among ourselves for awhile before our pizza finally came out. The Long Board-sized pizzas were pretty large and there were about 8 big slices. The Bonzai Pipeline was delicious as well as the Lover's Point. I would recommend either one of those if you liked Hawaiian pizzas or a lot of meat on your pizza. The Manly Beach was good but would be better without the jalapenos. That was just what I thought but I'm sure others liked the jalapenos. I almost ate five slices total from both pizzas before I stopped trying. It was a lot of pizza to eat but good pizza in my opinion. Good place to hang out, grab a drink, and eat pizza. Come check it out!
When you walk in the door the stench is overwhelming. Have no idea what it is but smells awful! The pizza was ok the salad was great breadsticks were great. Not the cleanest place. Have been here several time in the past and have to say this place has gone down hill. No wood fire oven anymore. Chairs need replaced they are very hard and uncomfortable now. Needs to be brighter inside. Would be great for take out but don't recommend dining in.
