The BBQ here was amazing. The service was great and they made us feel very welcome. No waiting for anything and very reasonable. It was a 5 min trip off rt 80. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling through.

What a gem! Fantastic food, super clean, large restaurant, friendly staff. We are so glad we used Yelp to find a spot to eat. We had ribs and salad. Fresh and homemade, even down to the dressing. Every plate we saw looked delicious, highly recommended. It is only a mile off the highway, but we definitely would not have found it on our own. We will plan our route to stop here again the next time we are passing through this way!

This out of the way place is a hidden Nebraska gem, but very close to I 80. My wife and I split a full slab of ribs that I highly recommend. Added bonus, they are totally hip to the craft brew scene and were sporting two local drafts. Don't miss ordering the ranch style beans as one of your sides, great! Planted on a dusty gravel Main St. in this smallest of towns gives Chez Bubba Cafe a superb local ambiance.

Excellent hamburger and sweet potato fries!! BBQ ribs were really good too!! Could only eat half. The baked beans were also delicious!!! Wish we lived near by and not passing through! Friendly service, too!

I drive from Omaha for this BBQ! Had the special today: brisket with jalapeño cream cheese sandwich on toasted, buttery bread. Pickles onions and jalapeños were on the side. It was so delicious! I split a slice of smoked chocolate cake with my husband. The cake is dark and moist with just a hint of smoke.

Great place!! My uncle and I came for a late lunch on our way to California. It's right off the freeway and easy to find, perfect for travelers. The service was amazing!! They were really helpful in helping us decide what to get. My uncle got an onion ring burger which was totally chonch! I got BBQ chicken with slaw and corn bread, and being a girl on a "diet" I freaking ate it all (totes amazeballs). Anywho, loved it, and the only thing that would make it better was if in mid linner, the Winchester brothers should up. (Yummy....) FIVE STAR PEOPLE! Go Nebraska!

I live in York and will drive the 20-25 minutes to get to this tiny town with no paved roads just to go to Chez Bubba. We have gone there several times and it's been wonderful every time! I have recommended this place to several people. Their brisket is wonderful in fact we haven't had a bad meal yet! Will be going back.

Skip the fast food and truck stops along I-80 and head a half a mile north to the tiny town of Goehner. Not much there at all except this wonderful place. Much more modern and fun than you'd expect (hence the "chez"), but a great barbecue, burgers and relaxed atmosphere ( hence the "Bubba" part). I will make this a destination and recommend it as a bright spot to anyone traveling this route.

Stopped at this little gem while traveling through on I-80 (west of Lincoln). We stopped in at 10 am, l though they didn't open til 11:00 (but the door was unlocked and we walked in). The owner told us to come on in and made us bacon and eggs even though they don`t serve breakfast. The bacon was thick and amazing, and while we ate, the owner`s son walked our dog! A full service restaurant! The restaurant is in Goehner, and is literally off the road as the streets in this little town are not paved. Their BBQ looked so good we took some to go. The chairs are contributed by the locals, with some bearing their names. The tables have old sewing machine hardware as their base. Restrooms beautifully clean. This is a slice of Americana at its best. Don`t miss this place.

After months of hearing about this, I finally got there with my family. WOW! What a diamond in the rough! BBQ at its finest. I got the ribs/chicken BBQ combo, and the ribs just fell off the bone. The sauces were also amazing (traditional was my favorite). The corn bread melted in my mouth. My daughters got a variety of things, including chicken fingers, monterey Chicken Sandwich and fish and chips (not quite as good as those from England/Scotland, but as close as you will get in Nebraska!). My wife got the BLT, but this was no generic BLT! Was on toasted texas bread and was fantastic. As far as ambiance...I love stopping at small towns for food, but this was no small town coffee shop. Chez Bubba has a class all its own. The bar, bar stools, and tables were classy and had an antique feel (table legs were made from antique sewing machine legs!). Deep, rich wood, and elegant feel. That is the Chez (classy) part. The bubba part (redneck) was the signage throughout. Very fun, creative, and just makes you want to come back. If you haven't been here before, put it on the top of your list!

I went here with my parents, husband, and daughter. We were really excited to try, based on all of the good word of mouth reviews we'd heard. Well, I don't know if we were there on an off night, but frankly, it was bad. It started with the iced tea. Fishbowl taste. Bleh. My husband, mother, and I all got ribs. My husband and mother got served large, meaty, bones. I got stuck with the rejects. The taste was fine, but nothing to write home about. Plus, hello, 3 people at a table order ribs... they should look the same! The brisket was so tough it was almost inedible. My step dad, husband, and I got pie for dessert. The claim is that the pie is homemade. Um, that crust was about as homemade as a Dolley Madison fruit pie. Not good. Not good at all. The service was pretty craptacular too. We will not be returning. I was really disappointed. Great name, cute place. But, the food was just mediocre, at BEST!
