Service was prompt and courteous. Restaurant clean and neat. Food was good, not overly exciting, bland. Chips typical, salsa mild (presented like from a jar). Guac had corn in it (different). Meal was overall good for a quick meal while passing through town. No complaints.

The food really hit the spot. Everything tasted fresh and as expected. My hubby and I shared the Taco Mexicano (2 pork & 2 beef) with a side of rice and beans and 2 waters =$15.46.

Really 5 stars? This is not Mexican food. Maybe if you're from Chadron but not if you're from Az. Pretty place though. But good not so good.

Great Mexican food and great service. Food was authentic Mexican and the surroundings were comfortable and colorful. Plenty of food options on the menu and the drink selection was adequate. Would suggest trying if in town and looking for good Mexican food.

Very authentic Mexican food, good prices, extensive menu, excellent customer service and large portions. If we lived here (we were visiting for a HS Graduation) we would be regulars.

Sooo good! We had the Pollo con crema, quesadilla mexicana, and some nachos. Service was great. The decor inside is great! Really a great place for Chadron to have.

Since Escarmuza is new in town, I thought I'd give it some love here on Yelp. First off, while this place is definitely not a looker on the outside-don't let that shy you away. Once you get inside, it is fantastically decorated and has a great atmosphere. The first time I went I ordered the chicken enchiladas verdes, which were very good, much better than I expected. The last time I went I ordered the spinach enchiladas, which I did not enjoy at all. The sauce was bland, and it was solely spinach inside without any other veggies or spices added. Both times we went, my boyfriend really enjoyed his meals, and he is a tough critic. Just as any FYI you only get one basket of chips and salsa free of charge, the salsa is incredibly mild. Also, if you enjoy your salsa with a little kick like I do, if you ask for a spicer salsa, they will charge you for each bowl of it. I feel these little kinks will get worked out as the resaurant has more time to establish itself. I am very pleased with Escarmuza's and will definitely be returning!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
