They advertise themselves as having the best burger in the Omaha area, and I'll double down and say it's one of the top 10 burgers I've had anywhere... Stella's is just a little dive bar that has figured out how to make a really great burger. I get out to Omaha a couple of times a year for work, and I intend to make Stella's a regular stop while I'm there.

Cute building, we sat in the back patio style seating...cozy. Yummy burger with real cheese too and delish fries..like homemade, but betta.

Pretty amazing that I'm still capable of writing a 5-star review after waiting 30 minutes for a table... but that's probably what I get for waiting until 7:30pm on the last eligible day of the Daily Deal coupon. But standing around all that time really gave me a good impression of Stella's, instead of the irate feeling I would have expected to have. No need to go into erroneous details that others have covered here, but their burgers stand up to any others in town. And while I can't say it's my absolute 100% hands-down favorite of all time, I will say that the space and staff make the difference. Even though we were packed in like sardine's and things kept on moving quickly, everyone was beyond friendly and all in all it was a cheap delicious meal. I settled on the southwest burger since I didn't feel like picking out toppings and I really liked the bun (thanks Rotella's!) but next time I'll probably get something more crazy - peanut butter? burger sandwiched between grilled cheese sandwiches? or the infamous fried egg... because there will absolutely be a next time. Bill plans on taking on 'the Stellanator' after all. (it's 6 burger patties, 6 fried eggs, 12 pieces of bacon, 6 pieces of cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapenos, and PB all on a bun, served with a basket of fries.) Out of 124 people, so far only two have completed it: youtube.com/watch?v=xhyy…

Great local burger place, there was a line out the door right after it opened, but we got seated quick, food and service was good. I ordered a double, which was a huge sandwich..

Just a good burger period. I would recommend going at a later time as the seating is limited, but the food is worth it.

Went to stellas Saturday afternoon it was packed but service was good the burger was excellent however I think the fries were a little overcooked and the grease probably needed changing. Stella's has a long history it is good to see that the tradition continues... I will be back.

Just an awesome place. Great service, food, and prices. Watch FB for the Tuesdays they are serving the doughnut burger. You will leave the place smiling.

We had just moved to Nebraska looking for some restaurants in our area and we heard great reviews about Stella's burgers - think again. The cook had a band-aid on his finger while cooking the food. Seriously? Wear a glove, man.

This is a great place for a burger and a beer. Lots of burger options. All the beer is bottles or cans only. Service is fast and efficient and the food is very good. As in other reviews, this is a place to eat and move on. Not a place to linger for a beer. That being said, this place is a must try.

Like Max G mentioned some of their food is greasy, but it is good and they have a friendly helpful staff.

Because of my love for ethnic and crazy foods, it isn't often I venture into the white side of things. However, once and I while I have slightly alarming urges to sink my food fangs into a big juicy hamburger. I will tell you that I am a huge burgerfreak and I will judge restaurants, and maybe sometimes people, based on the quality of their hamburgers. With all the reviews already out here exclaiming Stella's greasy appeal, I am posting my opinion to confirm that this place is the bomb!! WHY? Have a seat and I'll tell you.... TOPPINGS TOPPINGS TOPPINGS! The only reason why I give Stella four stars (please no death threats) is because their ground beef isn't marinated. What really makes a Stella burger a STELLA burger is what you put on it. I went there a couple of weeks ago and got the following on my burger: Onions Bacon Fried Egg Pepper Jack Cheese Peanut Butter and a side of clogged arteries... Time out and rewiiiiind. Did you just read 'Peanut Butter'? you ask yourself. Why yes you did! It is the single best topping you could ever have on a burger and my heart aches knowing that other restaurants cannot contribute to my Skippy obsession. When I ordered, I think the waiter was a little confused and asked if I wanted normal stuff on my hamburger. I just gave him that look, like... GUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRLLLL did you just say that?! Anyway, I don't think I need to say anymore other then if you haven't been here, you MUST make the trip and someone PLEASE try PB on their burger. It rocks my face off and will rock yours off as well!

What can I add to 75 reviews? Maybe a story to legitimize all the love this place gets... and deserves. Stella's has 6.5 ounce seasoned burgers cooked on cast iron. This is how I prepare burgers at home. I do not grill them. I also do the same for steaks. There is no better way to highlight the meat. Stella's has fresh potatoes peeled and cut and fried. This is also what I do at home. Are they greasier than usual? Sure. The water content of the potato leads to absorbing some oil. Will you care after tasting them? Hell no. The only thing they fail to do here is season them. I prefer gray sea salt from France. The table salt provided here works fine, too. You see... this place has been doing for years what took me 30 years of cooking to learn was the best way to do things. If you want a taste of what good home cooking is without the work, come here. My burger today, BTW, had my favorite ingredients. Pepperjack, mayo, grilled onions, jalapenos. The bun was pillow soft. Perfect.

Small, packed and historic! Burgers are large, fries are fresh cut and beer is cold! Close to the air base so fills at mealtime. Good Sat afternoon place!

PEANUT BUTTER HAMBURGER! Why did I wait this to long to have you? First you get the sweetness of the grease from the patty, then the crunch of the lettuce, when you swallow, you think the flavors are all gone, but then out of nowhere, PEANUT BUTTER. Thanks to Stella's, I will definitely remember the first time I got a hamburger with peanut butter, as the experience was glorious. For $4.50, you can order a giant Mushroom and Swiss burger. Add your toppings such as fried egg, peanut butter, BBQ sauce, onions, bacon, jalapenos, cheese, and jalapeno bacon ($.25 to $1, depending on topping) -- you can amass a jaw-breaking, juicy burger. After all the fixings -- it works out to be $8 for your loaded burger, which is not bad given the size and the amount of grease provided.

Used to live in Omaha. We were back to visit family and in the mood for burgers. Someone suggested Stella's. Unassuming, unpretentious and casual. Loved the vibe. Friendly staff, good service. Good food.

Left a lot to be desired. The place is small but also poorly designed. It was quite busy over lunch, and people were waiting by the door and kept it open, which made it extremely cold for us diners. The fries are extremely greasy and almost indelible. They weren't even the soggy kind they were just full of oil. The burger I got was dry and crumbly. Not well seasoned. The service was pretty awful, our waitress had no personality and basically slapped our food down. She even admitted hen she brought the food that she had no idea whose food was whose. And didn't seem to care at all. Overall a pretty bad experience...you can do way better for lunch in the Omaha metro area.

Best messy burger joint in town. It's not fancy, it's fast. And, it's delicious. Not much better around here.

One of the two best burger joints in the Metro! Love the place, story and family atmosphere. Just wish it wasn't a 45 min drive to get there!

I ordered the burger with the BBQ sauce on it and LOVED it! Their french fries are also my very favorite! I didn't care to ever eat inside there again. The place is cramped and the table wobbled and chairs sucked! They seriously need a new/better building to serve that delicious American food!!

Great Burger, but everyone knows fries are a burgers best compliment! The fries need work!

A CLASSIC Burger Joint. If you live within 100 miles of Stella's come visit. Hell make a day of and get "re-hungry" and eat at Sinful Burger a few miles away. There isn't one thing "fancy" about Stella's... napkins for plates is a good indication of this. A greasy spoon diner! I'm not sure why you'd order anything but a burger and fries. The cool thing about Stella's is you can add a fried egg, peanut butter, hot peppers, etc... you can make your burger a double too. Great fries too. Never had anything but great service. Fast and friendly. I've never had an issue with how fast/slow the food arrives. Order a beer, a burger and some fries. Chill out and enjoy. Stella's is a small place but a burger institution in the Omaha area. Bellevue should be proud to have TWO killer burger joints in town. NOTE: I don't had out 5 stars often. I'd give the food alone 4 stars. The vibe of the place, for me, is 5 stars. Service is 4 stars. It adds up to a great burger joint... nothing more and nothing less.

Solid burgers. Got a Stella's Staple Burger with a fried egg, and bacon. No toasted bun and wimpy iceberg lettuce kept this from being terrific. Beer prices are cheap.

There was a wait for the lunch time crowd but we got right in and sat at the bar. Excellent selection and a few local Nebraska beers - even serve mixed drinks. The burger is served on the napkin but they let you put it in a basket if you prefer. Definitely recommend getting a burger with peanut butter. It's not what you would expect and not overwhelming flavor - great add. Choice of fries, onion rings and even waffle sweet potato fries which I will try next time. Cool dive burger joint.

Stellas is awesome. I'm not big on the fries but the burgers are hard to beat. Go on Wednesday and try the brisket burger. It is amazing.

This is it! We found this place only because of Yelp. If your looking for the best burgers in Omaha, this is it! Nice waitress. Had multiple refills of sweet tea. They cook it fresh right there by the bar. My dad and I had the Swiss mushroom burger with the onions grilled also. The fries were some of the best we've had. It was so good, we would have came back for dinner. My dad(63yrs old) said it's the best burger he has ever had. They could invest in a better or more appealing place, but its been there for years, so I guess why change it? Can't wait to go back.

We always loved going to Stella's for a fresh, juicy burger. My last 2 visits - once in November, 2013 and the 2nd just last week, January, 2014 were a disappointment. Both visits were during the daytime and the meat was dry - definitely NOT a juicy burger. It will be a long time before we return, if ever.

Simple and straightforward yet the best burger you'll get in town. Don't plan on seeing 5 star services as its a good ole fashioned burger joint. The focus there is on the food although the service is very polite, competent, and fast. Additionally, I wouldn't go there if I were on a diet or attempting to order off of a low calorie menu. I find myself going there with my wife on those "targets of opportunity" nights between crazy work schedule and the needs of our new born just when things align. Seating is quite limited so weekends and weekend evenings can be a little tough.

AMAZING burgers, and I am not even a burger person! They are cooked perfectly. This is a very tiny restaurant, so do not go there if you are in a rush. However, please go there!

Peanut Butter and Bacon Burger... I saw that on a review and was all WUT? Little did I know... I ordered and it was awesome! One of the best I have ever had. GREAT burger. Proper seasoning. Bun was exceptional and didn't fall apart or get mushy. Nice thick patty with a great crust on it. I don't think I had one complaint about that burger. It was pretty darn perfect. I don't know what all the whining about the fries was about. Mine were not greasy at all and were very tasty. That being said, I wish I had ordered the onion rings after seeing them! I can't wait to get close enough to have another burger from Stella's... It was glorious...

It took a few times to get this to a 5-star. This place was really hyped for me. But after about 3 times (I've been for a total for 6-7 now), it really is one of the best burgers in Omaha/Bellevue/Papio area. It's located in Bellevue, but the whole area to me is the same. Every single time, I've gotten a regular burger with Swiss and an egg, with their Sweet Potatoe WAFFLE fries (AMAZING), and it's the perfect combo. The only bad part if you kind of care for your health is that you feel ridiculous afterwards, but a good workout should even it out.

Best place for a "greasy spoon" style burger in town. Service is good and fast, food is fresh, and u can tell they have been in the burger-joint business a long time!

  • Ramon B.

A good burger is the burger that turns the napkin its served in transparent from the hot goodness(grease) pouring out of it. Not the hugest fan of their fries but I don't come here for fries...I come here to get a double cheese burger with jalapenos, peanut butter, bacon, and a fried egg on it and actually listen to the a few years of my life be cut short. But I don't care! Life is short and its awesome with a huge burger, made to your specifications, plopped down in front of you! Eat up Minions!!

    (5)
  • Krizty M.

Super messy because of their long kept tradition. But the burgers are definitely the best in town! The restaurant is typically really busy during lunch and after 5 pm so get their before 5 but not before 2!

What can I say? Stella's is an experience all its own. If you're lucky enough to get a table, be prepared for mouth-watering burgers. With toppings that include a fried egg and peanut butter, you really can't ask for too much more. In every instance that I've been to Stella's, I have had stellar service and deliciously prepared burgers and fries. I know that I can always count on three things when I go to Stella's: 1. Great burgers made how I like it, 2. A great time shared by me and my friends, and 3. I'll have to wait if I want a seat... :) Stella's is always packed, which, in my opinion, is a testament to how great they are. :)

Friday night, 7 p.m. 5 minute wait for a table (even if the "line" seems long, the tables turn over quickly, so don't be discouraged). While waiting, peruse the menu because as soon as you sit down, the waitress is ready to take your beverage order. As soon as your drinks show up (in what seems like 30 seconds), they're ready to take your order. The fries (real potato and waffle sweet potato) arrive first, hot and fresh, in plastic bowls. Soon thereafter, napkins with gigantic, piping hot, burger towers arrive ready to be devoured. A basic burger is $4 with lettuce, tomato, onion toppings. You want more added...then choose from the toppings that range from ranch (0.25) to bacon (0.80) to make your own burger magic. Burger with fried egg and bacon, swiss mushroom burger with bacon, two fries, beer and water for $20 plus tip. Fast, friendly service, cozy atmosphere and cheap, fresh, delicious burgers. So, quit reading reviews and just go there already!

I'm not from Omaha, but from what I understand, there is only one reason to go to Stella's...the burgers. We arrived at 11:45 on a Friday afternoon. We had to wait about 5 minutes for a table, and that was the awkward time because there really isn't a waiting area, you just have to stand in the middle of the room. When we did get a table, it was a 24" stand-up height jammed in close to other tables. The place was loud. And I mean loud. The decor is a bit divey, but the bathroom was clean. There's a grey area on the menu which holds the "new offerings" from the grill. I don't know if they regularly rotate burgers into this area, but there were four or five to choose from. I ordered the bacon-bleu burger. Sides are sold ala carte at $2-3, and I asked for the home-brewed kettle chips. They didn't offer any local brews on tap, a real oversight, but they did have three of the local brewery's (Lucky Bucket) bottled offerings which was nice. I chose the IPA which was very good. The burger was good, but not the best I've had, and certainly not anything that would make me re-think how I make burgers. It was cooked very well-done, and the finished patty was about half the size of the bun, but it stood high...it was almost an over-sized meatball. The bun was one of the best I've ever had, and the hamburger was tasty, although they skimped a little on the bleu cheese. The kettle chips were excellent, a generous portion too. I tried a partner's french fry, and it was nothing special, a bit on the greasy, flabby side. Service was excellent at Stella's. They don't let a beer go empty or a burger sit in the service window. Overall, it was an OK experience, but I don't think I would go out of my way to return.

  • Jim F.

Wow, reasonable prices, delicious burgers, fresh hand cut fries. The service was good and the place was mobbed at 11:15am on a Saturday. That tells you that lots of people love it! The only criticism I have is that I would have liked for the bun to be toasted. Everything else was what burgers and fries use to be like at other places!

First time to Stella's Bar & Grill in Bellevue! Had a Double-cheese Burger with a fried egg, grilled onions, and grape jelly! Yes that's right Grape Jelly!!! It was fantastic, couldn't believe how much I ate. Definitely will go again!

  • Erastus S.

Not sure what everyone is raving about. Good burgers, no doubt. Best? Very doubtful. And that doesn't override cramped conditions, people hanging over your food, poor service and extremely slow deliver. The best burger in the country would have a tough time overcoming taking 45 minutes to get your sweet potato fries and 55 minutes to get your burger. (note - this is after ordering, not just waiting for seating). No wonder the place is so crowded, it takes forever to get served. And this burger wasn't that special. How about we start with a burger asking how it should be cooked? Well done may work for some people but I'd prefer a little less cooking on the burger. Seasoning wasn't special either but that's a matter of taste. My recommendation - go elsewhere. It just isn't worth it.

Great. I ate here tonight while on a business trip. The atmosphere was awesome; it was comfortable and friendly. I sat at the bar and ordered a Swiss-Mushroom burger. The burger was well above average, while the fries were outstanding. What was best, however, was the atmosphere. I sat at the bar near an elderly regular; the staff treated him like a rock star but with far more respect. The staff was friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The burger arrived approximately 10-15 minutes after ordering, which was perfect. Any sooner would have felt rushed and would have undermined the simple pleasure of watching strangers and regulars roll in the front door and be greeted by the wait staff. I'd recommend taking the time to read the history of the place, which can be found on a laminated yellow card at each table. It describes the history of Stella's back to the 1930s or earlier.

Quite possibly the best place in Bellevue! Be sure to get there early, however, as seating is limited. Staff is friendly. Service is speedy. Clean. Great, fun place for a burger you'll certainly remember!

I have been hearing all kinds of great thing about this place so I HAD to try it. I called ahead to see if they take reservations and found out they don't. I had a party of 10 going so I was then concerned with a horrid wait time. We showed up about 7:15pm on a Friday night. There was about 20 people standing outside waiting for a table. To my surprise we only waited a few mintues before we got sat. Everything on the menu sounded great so I decided on the mushroom swiss burger, onion rings and fries. While waiting for our food serveral waitresses came by to check on us with bright smiling faces and kept our drinks full while we waited. Our food arrived and I thought it was so cool to have my buger served on a napkin! (The dishwasher must love their job, lol). I did notice if you perfer not to have your burger served on a napkin you can get it served in a basket, but you have to request it. The fries were ok but the onion rings were the best I have ever had! The burger was amazing and big; I couldn't finish the whole thing. It was nice to have a fresh amazing burger! The prices were very resonable as well. Over all I had a great exprience and will be returning soon. Next time I am sticking with a burger and onion rings.

Come here every six months with a group of fellow travelers and have never left disappointed. The wait staff can be a little cocky, but it fits right in with the feel of the place. It could use a little more room but it's worth the wait to grub on some yummy burgers!

WOAH. Woah. I'm not a burger person at all, but Stella's has stolen my heart. Love the atmosphere! The staff was attentive without being overwhelming, and my sweet potato fries and burger were AWESOME. Definitely worth the trip to Bellevue.

Probably the best food I ate in my 3 week stint in the Omaha/Council Bluffs burbs. I originally came here chasing the high from a burger I had in New Orleans a few months back... a burger that showed me peanut butter and bacon could play together to elevate a burger to new levels. A search of yelp revealed Stella's, and to my delight it was just 8 miles from my hotel. On my first visit, I arrived within 15 minutes of closing. Luckily, the grill was still on, and they were more than willing to feed me. I immediately dispatched a burger w/ peanut butter and bacon, as well as a bacon cheeseburger w/ fried egg. The burgers came fast and arrived on a paper towel. Although I ordered both burgers medium, they both came well, which was a disappointment, but still doable. The peanut butter bacon burger was very different compared to the one I had enjoyed in NOLA - its not that it was bad, maybe a little dry, maybe a little light on bacon - which really marries the burger to the peanut butter. Im still glad I had it though, it brought back great memories. The bacon cheeseburger with fried egg was ok as well, at least as good as Smash Burger. To be fair, I decided to give Stellas another try the following week. This time another bacon cheeseburger w/ egg, as well as a bacon cheeseburger w/ fried onions were dispatched. I specifically asked if burgers only came well done (some places do that shit), the bar keep advised that they are cooked to order, however I liked. Reassured, I again specified medium, and again, they came well. I guess thats just the way it goes sometimes. Looking back, these were probably the 2 best meals I had while working out there. The truth is, I had eaten so much shitty food, from so many awful places, I didnt truly appreciate what I had at Stellas. Great buns, fun toppings with creative combinations, and easy on the wallet. I wish I had eaten at Stellas more, even if they did tend to overcook my burgers.

Holy monkeys did I screw up my diet here. But unlike some other diet mistakes I made while on my Omaha vacation, I have to say that this one was WORTH IT. First off, these burgers are huge. You probably don't need a double. And if you were thinking about doing the challenge... well... you'll probably fail, but good luck to you nonetheless. Since they don't have any healthy options like a turkey burger or a veggie burger, I decided to stop fretting and get whatever sounded good. My eyes were drawn to the southern burger because it was topped with BBQ sauce and ONION RINGS! It's like the Western BBQ Cheeseburger I used to make when I worked at Burger King many years ago, but bigger and waaaay better. I added some jalapeno bacon and a fried egg on top to make it perfect. Yum. The one thing that took me by surprise was our food being brought out. It was kinda shocking to see the burgers - no plates - sitting on a tray (how much is that tray used? Was it clean?), grabbed by the server (does he wash his hands after working with cash and credit cards?), and placed directly on the table (not sure if I'm more afraid of bacteria or the cleaning solution they use to clean the tables). Your only saving grace is a napkin, which I decided was OK for me (the server went to great lengths to hold my burger with the napkin), but given that the size of the burgers is much larger than the napkins, I still had a lingering concern. Now that I'm aware of the situation, I think I would approach Stella's with a plan. First, take a napkin from the centerpiece and spread it in front of you on the table before your food arrives. That way, your burger has a landing pod. Second, ask for more napkins. Even though our table was relatively well stocked, we ran out of napkins quickly. When they're doubling as plates, there's only so much to go around, y'know? With that plan in place, I'm more than happy to return to Stella's if I need a place to really go wrong on my diet again.

Deeeelicious. Got the dble cheeseburger, FYI- no need for double, a single is plenty! Sweet potato waffle fries were also very tasty. Service was exactly what I'd expect, friendly with a side of bawdy. Definitely plan to be eating there again soon!!

Awesome burgers, can't wait to go again. Sadly I don't live there and I seldom eat burgers but now can't forget the experience.Sweet potato fries were wonderful. I loved my blue cheese burger, and the carnivores with us said the burgers there were exceptionally juicy and flavorful. Great server, too!

We seat ourselves. I'm fine with that, but the 2 of us didnt get acknowledge until 15 min later. Even though there were 2 waitresses in our section. I finally got one's attention. W/o looking at me; she said I'll be with you in a minute." She never stopped what she was doing. To me that is rude. Just for that I was ready to walk out, but my lunch date was starving. I don't know abt you, but I seen my waitress handle/serve the food and also take money(money is DIRTY). Like your touching my food b/c your hand is holding my top bun, and your also at the cash register. That took the cake. I ate half the mediocre sandwich(cut where he touched). Sweet potatoes were good; the price is extreme for a substitution for regular fries though. Either or, that was my first and last time visiting this establishment.

Ate at Stella's today! Wow! Not only are the burgers and fries simply fantastic, this establishment holds a lot of nostalgia value for me and my family. My Dad was stationed at Offutt in the late-60s. Mom loved to do lunch (still does), and we'd come to Stella's at least twice a month. I vaguely recall Stella, a nice grandmotherly type (hey, I was 5 or 6), always in the place, and quick to offer a stick of Juicy Fruit for me and my sisters after lunch. Since the 60's, my travels have afforded me a stop on only 2x occasions, but man, the memories are alive and well. I truly don't think the recipe for the burgers or fries has changed in 5 decades . . . how often does that happen?? PROS: burger meat is fresh and flavorful (better be in Omaha!); buns have that steamed-fresh quality about them, with a shiny glean to the top bun; onion is generous, but not overpowering; American cheese ever so gently drips off the burger; the pickles are crunchy; lettuce does not make up the majority of what is between the buns . . . just a great burger. The fries? CONS: I hate to do this, but the fries, while having a good flavor reminiscent of the old days, just didn't look the part. Appeared to be too greasy or cooked in oil that needed to be changed. I recall the fries coming out looking and tasting fresh cut. Today's fries were close on taste, but they get the Ugly Duckling Award for presentation. Just neat to dip a toe in nostalgia on occasion, and Stella's d/n disappoint! Superb burger made a trip to Omaha an A+. Thanks, Stella's!!!

If you look up greasy spoon in the dictionary I am sure Stella's would be listed as an example. I don't say that as a knock because sometimes you need an artery clogging burger to start the second half of your work day off right. My coworker and I stopped in here and I thought I was transported back to the south as the decor of this place could rival any back wood country BBQ joint. The service is far from fast but that was okay as I was taking in all the stimuli surrounding me. To say the place was packed is an understatement. Fortunately we found a seat but 10 minutes later there were about 25 people (line out the door) waiting for a seat which is a testament of their tasty burgers. I ordered a cheeseburger with bacon and although it was short on seasoning, it was delicious. Fries and refreshing Mt. Dew completed my lunch of champions!

Yummy! If you don't care about clogged arteries than Stella's is the joint for you. When I first went I drove right past it, this place is very small, but don't let that fool you because the taste is HUGE. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff and seated right away (Thursday @ 5). I ordered a cheeseburger with a fried egg, bacon, grilled onions, and mayo. Got my order within minutes. Wow this burger was good, the first bite was a flavor fiesta in my mouth. I also had a side of onion rings which were great too. The prices are very reasonable considering the tastiness and 6 1/2 oz burgers. I will return soon to try out their 6 patty 6 fried egged burger called the "Stellanator"....maybe not, but they really do have this burger challenge in hopes of reeling in Man vs Food. Hope he does come so he can put this place on the map. I lived in Omaha for 6 years before finding out about this place......thank you yelp!

Excellent burger; probably the best in Omaha. They start with a basic option of either 1 or 2 patties (with/without cheese + lettuce, onion, tomato, mayo). After you've decided that, you choose what other toppings you want (peanut butter, bacon, jalapenos, fried egg, etc). 1 patty = 6.5 oz. I got most all of the toppings on my double burger. I got jalapenos, bacon, fried egg, peanut butter, pepperjack cheese, grilled onions, and all of the standard veggies on mine. The burger was insanely greasy and juicy and well sized. Stellas also offers sweet potato fries and regular fries as well. And though they are well known for their burgers, Stellas also offers other options such as grilled cheese, different sandwiches, phillys, etc. All in all, very good. My favorite burger joint in Omaha.

Pros: Good fried ice cream. Good service. Hamburgers are good enough - they taste better than what I make - but I would not rate them best in Omaha. In the top 10, perhaps. The pork tenderloin sandwich is worth the trip. Went on a Friday at 2:00 pm and the place was still packed, which at least tells you that other people think it is a good place to go. (And no, the service was very fast, considering that each order is cooked fresh).

I'm something of a burger guy...as such, I've eaten at some of the most famous and/or well-reviewed burger joints in the country. When it comes to rating burgers, I separate the gourmet variety (i.e., patties made with five kinds of organic meats) from the more down-to-earth kind. When it comes to the latter, there's no better than Stella's! I arrived in between the lunch and dinner rushes on a Thursday afternoon, so I didn't have to wait for a table at all. Since it was my first time to Stella's, I asked my waitress to give me the most popular burger. She ordered up a cheeseburger with bacon and a fried egg. Holy hell! I was sooooo good. These people know how to make a burger! Juicy and flavorful meat with a bit of char on the patty. Perfectly melted cheese. Crispy fried egg. Thick slices of bacon. And soft bread. Heavenly! When it comes to great gourmet burgers, Bradley Ogden at Caesars Palace is the way to go (off the bar menu). But Stella's is essentially beyond reproach when it comes to non-gourmet burgers. Only Hodad's in San Diego even comes close.

Great burger place!!! Perfectly cooked, big, juicy burger!!! Honestly, there shouldn't be too many people that order the double cheeseburger! Onion rings are fantastic too. They actually have a good flavor! The other sweet potato and regular were okay. We actually called in an order and picked it up. Glad that we did that because this place is packed! A definite must try but I wish they were not in BFE!!

Stella's Bar and Grill is by no means a Burger King in any aspect. Unlike Burger King, you truly CAN have it YOUR way. From your traditional lettuce, tomato, & onion cheeseburger, to a whacky combo like peanut butter & egg cheeseburger, they have tons of combinations! Stella's has been a family-run business since 1936. Situated on a fairly small plot, it almost ALWAYS seems to be crowded for such a small restaurant off the main street. They have recently expanded their building to accommodate more customers, but even that doesn't seem to help much. The quality of the food is quite expectant of what a mom & pop shop should be, more about quality, less about quantity. Yet they still seem to be able to come up with the quantity as well. The quality of the service seems slightly less desirable though. While not lacking, it is chaotic in the restaurant, tightly squeezing in like a rock concert on a Saturday night. The only person I would advise to not come here is an individual or group with a time crunch like a lunch break from work. Expect to pay around $10 for a burger, fries, and a drink, mildly reasonable for this quality of burger & atmosphere.

LOVE their burgers. Be prepared for a wait, the space is tiny and everyone is here on the weekends. Nice bar selection and everything tastes super fresh. There's no plates in this place, so get your burger as messy as you like.

Smaller space... nice landscaping outside, cute and modern inside. Place was packed for lunch but only had to wait about 7 min for a table. Food was awesome- flavorful and fresh and pretty quick. I liked that the prep are was open and you could see everything being made. It's a very fun and inviting atmosphere. I ordered the Staple Burger, fries and half & half basket with rings and waffle sweet potato fries... couldn't pass on the spf... never had them in the waffle form before! Overall- I was impressed... Good things really do come in small packages ;)

Stella's was amazing!! We had high expectations leading into our meal because of all the good thing things we heard about it but it definitely lived up to all of them! We are currently on a 50 state road trip and this was easily the best burger we have had thus far (we had the southwestern burger). Not only this, the employees are beyond friendly and we even got to meet the phenomenal owner! Absolutely make sure to stop by Stella's if you can!

If I could give more stars I would. Amazing GIANT burgers!!!! Great prices and great staff. Worth the drive from west Omaha. A true classic place. Will not go wrong coming here.

This review is purely on the PBandJ burger I got for lunch. Decent burgers in Omaha! Per yelp reviews, I tried a regular hamburger with PBandJ. I've never had this weird combo before but it was pretty good! The meat was supposedly medium but might be more medium well but still went great with pbj. Sweet potato waffle fries were okay. Not bad but not great. My coworker's pastrami burger had too cooked of a burger so he didn't like it too much but other coworker's liked their Stella staples and southwest burgers. Service was a little too aggressive.. Once we sat down, we were immediately approached with a "what do you want?", not a "hi, welcome. Let me give you a few minutes to look over the menu". And when we said we needed a few minutes, the waitress returned within like 30 seconds. Attitude seemed nonchalant.

5 star all the way "nothing but net" , with basketball in the rear view mirror and the College World Series in full swing on the bar TV. I type out this review. My stomach is still basking in the delight that was the Stella Standard!!!! This mountainous burger topped with an egg was delicious . The onion rings were sweet and the sweet potato fries Devine . I have been dieting so when I go off the reservation , I wanted to go big! The staff was polite and attentive. I loved the fact that every request was answered with a yes, absolutely and a quick response. The owner was present and offered some history of the restaurant, started by Grandma Stella in the 30's, I think. The young bus boy even shared a very funny camping joke, that will be deployed often Tomorrow. That's all for now, oh, they serve Guinness in a very cold pint glass ....touché

This place is a must! It's not big, so you may have to wait for a seat. It's worth the wait! There are awards all over the place. The burgers and onion rings will speak for themselves! We will definitely be going back when we're in the area. The service is friendly too!

The hype was incredible, the food was not. The fries left me wishing I had gone to Runza. The burger was a hot mess, the patty was thick and round, more like a meatball. The bacon had an off taste. The ranch out of a bottle from the store. The service was mediocre. We waited an hour to be seated, and it was simply not worth it. Save your time, try somewhere else.

One word comes to mind when thinking about our experience at Stella's; OVERRATED! After being in Omaha for almost a year and hearing many people rave about it we finally tried Stella's. On the positive side of things were fresh ingredients, a good menu selection and the sweet potato fries were pretty good. I would likely give this place 3 stars but they claim to have the best burger in Nebraska. And I can quickly think of many burgers I would prefer from In-n-Out to 5 guys, Eureka Burger, and the Burger at Salt 88 which is in Omaha there are others but I will not ramble on. I had their signature burger, the main problem was while fresh it just tasted like ground beef with no flavor, I mean even salt would help. Service was okay but nothing stellar. As a best burger claim I was dissappointed.

For a grand total of $9.50 (including holiday tipping) I was able to enjoy one of the best burgers Omaha has to offer. Stella's- a bar and grill located in the oldest part of town [Bellevue NE], sits ontop a little slope off the main drag- practically in a residential neighborhood. I have heard they have expanded and renovated in recent years which is funny because I cant imagine the place being any smaller than it already is! If you have a large party [5+], I suggest getting there at least 30 mins before opening, or 45-ish minutes after opening so you can snag a table from one of the first diners as they leave. We got there at 10:30 on a saturday and were second in line after a small party. If youre waiting in the winter remember to bundle up! Service there is speedy, yet a weird mix of small town feel with we're-so-busy-everyday-i dont-have-time-for-you. Our server was really nice, but sheer volume of business kept her from being more than, well, a food server. I did get a water refill and our table got checked on a few times for beer/fountain drink refills. The menu was so daunting for me. Based on all the terrific recommendations floating around it was hard to chose which one I should try. I ended up with the stellas staple burger, a cheeseburger with all the fixings including bacon and a fried egg. I added PBJ for .50 extra just to see what the hype was all about. My burger was served on a napkin (pure genius-who needs plates??) and it wasnt as greasy as some claim. I thought it was pretty delicious, although pretty near impossible to take a bite that encompasses all the parts of my mile high piled burger. I think next time I would stick to the regular cheeseburger and add caramelized onions and mushrooms. YUM. Sides wise, I enjoyed the onion rings and the sweet potato waffle fries. This certainly isnt somewhere I can see myself going all the time due to the crowds/lines but I think it'll just be that special treat when the craving hits.

This is a place you drive to past other options because; even if you've never been here you're welcomed as a regular. The food looks like the picture. Quality fun food. Great staff. Eat at the bar. Read the bio....love it!

I'm still in awe as I write this, it was THAT good! First of all, I don't really even like hamburgers that much- it's typically the last thing I would order on a menu. I HAD to find out what the hype was all about though. We stopped into Stella's on a Saturday night at 7:45pm, and it was packed! We had to wait just outside the door, and I was initially worried no one even knew we were there- but then, the owner came out of nowhere, he was buzzing around like a little bird checking in with people seating people, and taking names. I have no idea how he keeps it all straight, but he did! We ended up happily opted for seats at the bar, where we were treated like royalty. Folks- if you're a twosome, always sit at the bar in my opinion, the service is impeccable because you're right there in front of them! The bartender kept my cocktails coming while we waited for the food (a nice strong pour I might add), and checked back a few times once our food had been delivered. He told us a few funny stories about people not knowing what they were in for, ordering the double and was just generally a happy guy, even though it was clear they were NOT closing at 9pm as the sign said, the line was STILL out the door at 8:30! Next up to check on us was Pam, an owner. We told her it was our first time, and she seemed to really care whether we were happy. She also told us that Stella's will likely NEVER build a second location- sorry West Omaha fans! Now onto the burger, DELICIOUS! (yes, served on a napkin). I had a pepper-jack cheeseburger and added mushroom, bacon and peanut butter. You've got to try it! It adds a fun flavor that you'd never expect. The hand cut fries also were flavor packed, and fresh out of the fryer. I can't wait to go back again, this IS Omaha's best burger, with the best service and strongest drinks. This place was SO busy, yet every employee just bustled around with friendly smiles on their faces the whole night- it would make any wait worthwhile! Thanks Stella's- for renewing my love of the hamburger!

Burgers are WAYY too salty to be good, I took a few bites and then I was done. I am disappointed in Nebraska if this is the "best" burger some people have ever tasted. I have tried so many burgers better than this for example even a Wendy's burger is better than this. The burger was too salty, no meat taste at all, just salt! I would never eat here again.

This is another one of the recommended restaurants of Omaha that I went to while on a business trip. It's a bit a of a drive from Omaha since it's technically in Bellevue, but I thought it was worth it. The interior is typical of most bar and grill places. They have a cool wall of fame/shame for the stellanator, their form of a eat lots of food within a certain time frame challenge. My group all got different burgers, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. I got the staple burger, which I thought was delicious. The waitress said the patties have a little bit of red in them, but I didn't see any of it. Nonetheless, I thought it was very good for a well done burger. The bacon and egg made it a bit messy to eat, which is expected. The interesting thing about Stella's is that they serve their burgers on napkins. I'm not sure it really made much of a difference, but definitely makes the table really greasy. The only issue I had with this place is that the waitress was really aggressive, and asked us what we wanted right when we sat down. She came back about 30 seconds later when we asked for more time. Other than that, I was satisfied with my lunch here.

The rumors are true! Best burger in town. I got the Stella's staple - back in and a fried egg! Awesome! You don't need to get a side but the sweet potato fries are amazing! They are super thin waffle fires - crispy on the outside but still soft inside. Definitely recommend!

  • Frank S.

You can't go wrong with the Staple Burger with everything. Quality of the bun, meat, and condiments were all above what you typically get at a burger joint. Atmosphere was unique and packed with locals. Beer selection was okay.

We went to Stella's around 11:30 on a Saturday. There was a line waiting to be seated. After about 15 minutes we were seated and waited on quickly. As busy as they were, the wait staff kept our drinks full. It took some time to get our food. The kitchen area is very small and in the open. It was well worth the wait because waiting meant our food was very fresh and right off the grill. All of the single burgers are 6 1/2 ounces. I got the Mushroom Swiss and it was delicious. It wasn't saturated in grease and was flavorful. I also got a side of homemade chips. They were hot and crunchy. My son got a double burger and I'm not sure how he even fit it in his mouth. He ordered fries with his and said they were great. Out of four of us dining, we were all in agreement we'd go back again!

Stella's was referred to us by local friends after moving here! The burgers are amazing!! The wait can be ridiculous! That's the only reason I give them a 4! Is because of that! The food, drinks, and staff are great! The wait, not so much. Also, if you like your buns toasted, be sure and ask. Friendly service, staff, and excellent prices!

I am a man that enjoys a good burger, and Stella's Bar & Grill had the reputation of having the best burger in Omaha. While I certainly haven't tried many others, it's for me to believe any have a better burger than Stella's. I decided to partake in the special of the day, a BBQ brisket burger, and it was simply terrific. It's a thick, round burger that is moist without being too greasy. The brisket on top of the burger patty was a great touch (as well as my favorite meat on a burger, other than bacon). The burger is a good size and I didn't need more when I finished it. A side of Onion Rings as well as Fried Ice Cream were also terrific. The Onion Rings were on the crunchy side of the scale, and a very solid portion for just $3. Likewise, the fried ice cream was a great deal at less than $3, which includes cinnamon and sugar nread (sopapilla-like) vanilla ice cream and a whipped cream topping. In the middle of the week at 5 p.m., Stella's was pretty much full of customers. If one doesn't want to sit at the bar, it's possible during most hours that a wait is in order. Don't let that dissuade you though, the wait is completely worth it!

One of the best!!! Everything's good here. The wait is typically not an issue and the staff is always friendly. The food comes out pretty fast and hot. Can't get enough of this place

We always love coming to Stella's! The burgers are fantastic, the service is always friendly and quick, and usually dining with 2 young boys under 5 we can get in and out quickly. My husband's favorite is the Brisket Burger, like them on FB and you can see when the brisket burger day is. I am more of a plain Jane when it comes to burgers and always order a simple cheeseburger and it never disappoints! If you're visiting Nebraska you have to stop by Stella's and try, you won't be disappointed!

I went to Stella's for a business lunch and I had really high hopes for Stella's, 'the best burger in town'. You walk in and it's pretty chaotic. I mean what do you expect when a restaurant is labeled as the best burger in town. We were told to sit wherever we wanted so we grabbed the only available table. The waitress came over, and she was very nice, and took our orders. The order came out in a reasonable time, about 5-10 minutes, and the food was fresh and hot. So my food. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and fries. With all of the hype, I expected this amazing cheeseburger and I think it fell flat. I have eaten a lot of hamburgers at a ton of different restaurants and to me, the burger was just okay. The beef was a tad bland and the burger was kind of a mess. The prices were about right for the amount of food you got. Stella's was just okay to me. Will I be going back ever, probably not.

Dare I say the best burger in the Omaha area is at Stella's? Well, for $6.50, I recently had their signature burger -- thick beef patty with bacon, cheese and a fried egg -- and was in greasy heaven for the rest of the day, even though I was sick as a dog, battling a nasty cold. (Hey, when it's burger time I'll always throw down, even if I'm a little late to the party.) Sides-wise I wasn't floored. The hand-cut Stella's fries were A-OK and the onion rings were slightly above average. But who cares when the burgers are the main attraction? What I'm a little jealous of are my fellow Yelpers who added peanut butter and jelly to their burgers. That little extra sweetness from the strawberry jelly would add -- at least in my mind -- that perfect subtle flavor that'd put this burger among the best out there. Period. Also, I've got my eye on you, pastrami burger. I like to think of Stella's as the Hodad's ( yelp.com/biz/hodads-san-… ) of Omaha, complete with lines out the door nearly every day of the week. All they need are a few more punk rock dudes working there and the ocean a block away. Well, that's a lot to ask. Stella's is perfect the way it is. But wouldn't it be amazing if they opened up a second location in Omaha?

I had a great burger with one of my doctoral peers and his son when I was in Omaha. It's a small hole-in-the-wall place with GREAT burgers and the fries and fresh, crispy potato chips are yummy! I had the Stella's Staple Burger with bacon and fried egg and it was delicious! Very relaxed and casual place with great food. I'll definitely be back there when I am in Omaha.

I don't get it ! I don't even think this place is close to being the best if it is we are in trouble ! After years of not going to Stella's we decided to go back to see if it was actually good ( hated it the first time ) walk in to a over crowded dining area nothing is worse then trying to eat and people are standing over your food . Waited about a half an hour and got seated right next to the entrance so we spent the whole time we were there squashed in with all the folks standing .. Fun times ,, the severs basically sucked forget about getting your drink refilled not gonna happen . They seem too busy . Now the place us small so it's not like they have tons of Tables to take care of . Now for the food . I ordered a cheeseburger and fries . You know when the burger is smaller then the bun so you don't get to the meat until much later ? Yup that's what I got . Overcooked and no flavor . Fries are fries nothing special. We left extremely disappointed didn't feel like we had a fun time . Couldn't even hold a conversation because of noise level and felt rushed because of all the poor people waiting for a table . Won't be back .

This is a small place steeped in history, a hole in the wall kinda place, but worth stopping. The wait I felt was worth it. I had the Stellas Staple with sweet potato fries. A large burger that was juicy and delicious, never had egg on a burger before and it fit. The sweet potato fries were great. The price was very reasonable. The service was awesome. I would highly recommend and if back in the area would stop again. The story of this place is a good short read that tells a brief history of this fantastic place. This place has numerous recommendations including best burger in the state of Nebraska. If you really want you can try the Stellinator!

Just ate at Stella's for the first time. I totally enjoyed it. I had the Sweet Potato Waffle fries with a side of BBQ sauce, they were so good. I also had the Pastrami Burger, which was very tasty. The place was super busy and now I know why. I left very satisfied and full. :)

Best burger I have ever eaten. Absolutely love this place. The Staple Burger is the way to go. I add peanut butter and jalapeños on mine and it's fantastic. The wait to get a table can be long since they are busy almost all the time is worth it.

Great food that won't break the bank! Make your own burger or try one of their speciality burgers. Tons of choices for toppings ranging from .25 to $1.50 each. Tried the fries and onions rings ... Fries were above average but the rings were by far excellent!

  • Ruth T.

Really wanted to like this place. Just a little hole in the wall, which was ok. The wait staff was very good. My husband ordered a mushroom swiss with extra mushrooms. I had the pork tenderloin. The tenderloin was wonderful, very big. The only thing that was missing was some mayo. Husband wasn't crazy about the mushroom swiss, he said it was dry and not seasoned at all. Salt please. We also had the French fries, very oily and again not seasoned. The chips were fresh and hot. The onion rings were very good. I would go back one more time, just to see if we went on a bad day.

Beautiful juicy hamburger! Tasty too! I enjoyed the Patty Melt, it was fantastically prepared & an order of 1/2 onion rings/fries. The joint was packed with locals & out of towers like myself willing to wait for a great burger. The atmosphere was homey & very friendly plastered with the losers of the "Stellanator" challenge. Be warned a double is 2 meals!

Went to Stella's for the first time and really loved the history behind it! Burgers are served on a napkin! That's crazy. I did a build your own burger. I had an egg, peanut butter and a veggie patty. Weird, but it was good. I should have added bacon to it to make it the ultimate breakfast faux burger. For not liking burgers too much, I'd come back :) They were really busy when we came on a Friday night, which is always a good sign.

Stella's is a must go for burgers. We usually find ourselves going when they have specials (Brisket Burger, Donut Burger). This evening, there were no specials, which made me order from the menu. So I made the best of it and made my own burger, double cheese burger with bacon and a fried egg. The burger was cooked to well done, but was juicy and flavorful. The egg and bacon added to the wonderful dining experience. Sweet potato fries, regular fries and onion rings were ordered, there were 6. One side can be split between two adults that order double- or triple- burgers. Sweet potatoes were not over salted and crunchy, same with the regular fries. The breading on the onion rings were crunchy with tender onions inside. If you want to try it out, come early. It's packed for a reason. We arrived at 5:50 just in time to beat the rush. If you have raw onions added to your burger, it's not a ring or two but a whole slice off the onion. Stella's is a must go especially when donut burgers are on the menu!

By far the best burger that I have had in Omaha. The meat was great even though it was slightly overcooked (the server said they come medium well, it had no pink). The ambiance is what you would expect from a bar. However, it is a little crowded, felt like we were sitting on top of each other along with other guests. I ordered the sweet potato fries. They left something to be desired. They had little to no flavor and could have done without them. I liked the fact that they severed the burgers on paper towels was interesting, but I didn't mind it at all. Overall it was a good meal and good experience. Our server was a bit aggressive with trying to get the order, however, I guess I would rather that then one that does not come to the table ever.

This place used to be a genuine burger dive inside a smoky bar. It's since been completely leveled and rebuilt (due to a fire if I recall) into a cleaner and more modern restaurant that seems to focus more on being a restaurant than on being a bar. Stella hasn't made a burger at Stella's in over 30 years. The place is now run by Stella's "great-great-niece," Stephanie Francois. Burger is good. If you don't specify they will serve it well-done, but you can request it however you'd like. Burgers aren't terribly greasy as some reviewers note (Those people must be used to eating some really dry burgers. 80/20 is considered the standard ground beef for burger patties.). I think the burgers could use a little more flavor and I wish they were better about asking customers how they'd like their burger cooked. Burgers are served on a napkin (no plate or basket). Worst French fries ever. That is sad considering they're fresh cut from potatoes, but you'll receive flaccid fries. Request your fries "well done" or "crispy" and they'll be much better. Onion rings are breaded (as opposed to battered) and a little too crispy for me. I prefer the battered ones. Their homemade potato chips are good, so if you're going to pick a side I would go with the chips. Sides are served in bowls (combine that with the burger being on a napkin and there's nowhere to put your ketchup for dipping). This place isn't much of a bar anymore. I don't think hardly anyone comes here just to have a few drinks. Also, they close at 9PM, so no nighttime bar crowd at all. Service is friendly and attentive. They can get pretty busy due to their popularity, so keep that in mind and cut them some slack when they're slammed. Also, avoid this place at peak meal times. Come here at 1:30 PM on a weekday for lunch and you'll be seated immediately. Come here at noon on a Saturday and you'll be waiting in line for a table. I really don't feel this place is worthy of all of the rave reviews it is getting. Sometimes I think people hear about a place on TV or in some "Best of..." list and so go and try it and rate it really well not because they love it that much but because they think they're supposed to love it that much. They make a good burger here, but it's NOT the BEST burger. It's okay to acknowledge that it's not the best burger. You won't have your Nebraska residency revoked. I'm not saying to avoid Stella's. Quite the contrary, actually. They make a good burger. It's been around forever. It's a piece of Bellevue history. So, definitely go check it out and order a burger. However, it's not the best burger in the Omaha metro area and certainly not the best in the world.

Loved the burger. Had the Staple while in town for the College World Series. One of the best meals I have had there, and I have gone to CWS since 1998. Thick, juicy burger, great toppings, and the bread held it all together. Enjoyed the onion rings as well.

One of the best burger joints ever! If you've never been here, go immediately! The quality and quantity of food is amazing! The restaurant is clean and the staff is great.

Best burger I have ever had. Visited from California twice. First place I wanted to eat at when I came in to Omaha. Ordered the double cheese burger and I was surprised how big it was. Way to big for me. But I ate it all. Buns, meat and condiments just perfect!!!!

Just came in today with my family and left impressed and stuffed. The food is great (one of the best pork tenderloin sandwiches I've had) and portion sizes and prices are both good. For my family of 6 (3 kids meals) it came to just under $40 before the tip. Definitely adding this place into our rotation of favorite restaurants.

Stella's has outdone itself!! This is one of the best burgers I have ever had the pleasure of eating. I ordered the Stella's Staple Burger with peanut butter. The burger was topped with egg, cheese, lots of bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and rich creamy peanut butter. The burger was thick and juicy and the combination of ingredients was so succulent I could hardly keep from drooling on myself. I downed that burger in a matter of minutes and felt so fulfilled by the end of it. By the time we left the line was out the door. That's how you know this place is bomb. I can't wait to go back to Omaha to eat another one of Stella's famous burgers!!

Good burgers with a good variety of toppings and sides but doesn't always live up to the hype. Every time I have gone it has been too crowded and it seems like a competition to even get food. Overall though good food if you aren't expecting the best burger you will ever eat and instead just expect a normal everyday burger.

I suppose it depends on your taste, but we think the burgers are quite good - our favorite place in the area. The service has always been great and we've never experienced a long wait. My only complaint is that they wouldn't sell me a large portion of the homemade ranch dressing - it's soooo good and everyone in the family loves it! We eat in about once a month and get take out often. They're fast and very friendly. The food is fairly priced for what you get. Recommended!

AMAZING! Had the Stellas Staple and boy was it great! Service was fast and we were seated right away and got drinks within a few minutes. We also received our food within 5 minutes or so of ordering. I would recommend this place for sure! The only thing I would like changed would be the fries were a little undercooked I felt, but some people like them not so crunchy. But overall a great experience.

The fact that this place let's you put things like a fried egg and pb&j on a burger is the definition of awesomeness...had me a double cheese with egg and pb&j with a side of onion rings...upon receiving the food, I wanted to shed a tear at the beauty of it...and after taking that first bite I swear angels were singing...the grease turned the napkin clear, so that was a treat lol...and yes it's totally messy, but that's also part of the appeal...the service was really good considering how busy it was...sat at the bar since waiting for a table would have taken far too long...is it worth the drive? Yes...is it worth the wait? Yes...

  • Chuck O.

Their reputation was what brought us here. With a slight wait expected, we arrived around 5pm during the CWS and we're first in line to our surprise. 5 minutes latest there was a line out the door. Excellent burgers. Highly recommend, but go early of you don't want to wait in line, because that gets longer (outside into the parking lot) as the evening approaches

Food: My two teenage boys love this place. The food servings are generous and the taste is superb. Service: They don't mess around, but you are treated fairly and equally.

Stella's is a dive bar that makes pretty good bar food. The establishment is small, and waits can be very long if you go at peak times. The burgers are thick and juicy, and can be customized to fit any taste. I had the Southwest Burger with bacon and an order of fries. The fries were a little on the soft side, but okay. My friend had the Staple Burger with onion rings. (The rings were much better than the fries) Since I live in West Omaha, I am not in a hurry to go back, but if I am going to a Stormchasers game, or just happen to be in Bellevue, I am not opposed to going back.

This is my first time here, I've driven by and it's always busy. I decided to stop in and being a Saturday and a husker game, well everybody wants a good seat. It looks small from the outside, but being inside ample room. Menu is short and from what I saw the 6 inch burgers are what people want! I a vegetarian looking for something beside an egg sandwich, settle for the grilled chicken sandwich, that was good , by the way. I didn't see more options 4 vegetarian , if so let me know. Service friendly, I give it 3 because of limited menu selection

  • S. H.

Can't go wrong with a great big burger! Served on a napkin, which is pretty funny. I'd recommend getting it with a fried egg on top. Delicious! It's a bit greasy, but I think that's what you can expect at a bar and grill.

  • Peyton R.

Every time I walk into Stella's I feel the home-style soul and care of this place. Their burgers are fantastic and have anything you would want. They have the Stellanator which is a 10+ patty burger with over 6 or so toppings including peanut butter. Their fries are fantastic as well and there is a giant field next to the restaurant that includes the garden where most of their produce is made. This place is fantastic!

  • Kris J.

This is worth the hype! We went on a Saturday afternoon at 2pm, for a party of 5 we had about a 30 minute wait but it was worth it. The staff was friendly and the food was super yummy. I am picky about my burgers and onion rings, yet both passed my test with flying colors. One thing that amazed me a few days later was that I was wearing a t-shirt we bought from there, within the 2 hrs I was out and about running errands I had 4 different strangers comment on my shirt, all of them mentioned how wonderful Stella's really was and how they enjoyed their experience. For sure I will suggest it to others and will return when I want an amazing juicy burger!!

You really can't beat the prices here. The burgers are great, the chicken sandwich is on point but my ultimate fave would be the veggie burger. On a crazy, spontaneous decision I just decided to give it a shot. Now I'm definitely no vegetarian but wow. Their onion rings are easily their best side. Followed by the sweet potato waffle fries. Go ahead and pass on the regular fries though, anytime we ordered them they were soggy and tasteless. This place is definitely the place to go if you're visiting Bellevue. Be aware though they do serve their burgers/sandwiches on napkins but feel free to ask for regular plates and they'll be happy to honor your request. Also they're pretty famous and the joint isn't all that big so be prepared to wait (not long though) for a table. Definitely worth it though. I only gave it four stars for the sad fries.

This place is awesome! My mom brought us in and she had been coming here for years! Awesome burgers, fries, onion rings and local craft beer! I had the bacon and blue burger, which was fantastic! I was a bit taken back by the no plate thing... So, don't be surprised when your burger comes to you on a napkin!

We had just finished our move across country and wanted a great place to grab a bite. So glad we stopped here! We ordered the Stella's Burger, which came with an egg on top of it (yay!), and some fries. Both came out steaming hot within a relatively short period of time. I found both our fries and the burger really good. The prices are also quite reasonable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. For example, I thought it was super nice that our waitress offered to get me a diet Pepsi to go after our meal. I also appreciated the decor of the restaurant and the "wall of shame" for all of those people who were unable to finish the 6 patty food challenge in 45 minutes. A decent selection of beers, but nothing fabulous, and some pretty good mixed drinks for around $5 a piece. We will definitely be back.

Always crowded because it's the most popular burger joint in the Bellevue and Papillion area. The pastrami burger is to die for and I don't say that lightly.

If you're wondering where to go for a burger, go here! Staff friendly & always on it, food awesome, kids happy & so were their folks! Really flavorful, good prices. Had the Stella Staple burger - so good. The wait for a table moved quickly.

  • Robert N.

Yup, the burgers are good. I wouldn't say they are wait-in-line-good, but plenty of people disagree. You can top yours with just about anything. It does get crowded at the usual times.

Best burgers in town, and maybe everywhere. Can be hard to get into as it is small and really popular. Been around forever and really popular with the locals. Fair price and good food. They serve the food just slapped into a napkin and maybe a cardboard tray. Not a very nice place, but great burgers.

I heard plenty if reviews saying Stella's has the best burgers in Omaha. So, I thought... I'll be the judge if that, for myself. I ate at Stella's in a Monday night, my girlfriend and I got there at 5:15pm, the place was already half full. The staff were really cool and super nice. I dug the fact that you could watch the cooks grilling the burgers. When our burgers arrived they were amazing. I def see all the hype about that place now. We left at about 6pm and there was a line of people waiting for a table. If you haven't tried that place but are thinking about it, I would def recommend that you check it out.

Great burgers, fun atmosphere! Would come back for a burger here if I'm in town. Small place, but Great atmosphere. The burgers and fries taste home made! The burger challenge looks impossible, but a fun idea, I think there are only 3 people who have ever completed it.

Stella's was very good and we were lucky enough to get here before it got packed. We got here on a weekday right as they opened and there were already people inside waiting. It was a little different than I expected. First off, you order everything separate. The burger, then the fries, then the drink. It ended up being a lot more expensive than I expected. They also serve the burgers on a napkin instead of a plate, which I thought would cut costs, thus, lowering the prices of food slightly...... Anyways, I ordered the burger with the fried egg on top. I've always been a fan of burgers with fried eggs and this one was pretty decent, though by far not the best. The burger itself was overcooked, no pink, and not very flavorful. The fries were very good though, season salted slightly amd you could taste the potato! They were similar to fries at Bronco's (One of my favorites). The waitress recommended we order just one side of fries because of how big they were. I still wish I would have ordered my own side, it wasn't nearly as big as she made it out to be, but it still filled us up combined with the burgers. Service was excellent, I really like the people here. I will have to come back and try some other burgers and hope that they aren't overcooked as much as the first time. I would really like to like this place.

Good burgers and sweet potato fries, although the burger I had was very watery, extra napkins... both hands were totally soaked, however the waitress was very sweet.

This was THE BEST BURGER I have eaten in my entire life. The burger was done perfectly and the combination of a good bun, mayonnaise, fresh tomato, onion, lettuce, cheese, and fried egg was absolutely to die for. The burger was served the way that Stella always like to serve it - on a napkin! (There are baskets that you can request of the napkin freaks you out). The prices are amazing. I got the worlds best burger, a side of piping hot fries and a water for $10. It is a small place so expect the wait, however the wait is TOTALLY worth it, not matter how long it is. Overall, my first time here was perfect. I would highly recommend to everyone !

Yummy!! The best burger joint in the area. I can't help but order the blue cheese burger and add sautéed onions and mushrooms, fantastic combinations of flavors. If there is a downside to this place it's that you usually have to wait in a line but it is well worth it.

Drove 2500 miles for this burger, and it did not disappoint. Initially stood outside awkwardly for around 2 minutes trying to figure out if it was the right place. I pulled out my copy of "Hamburger America" and was comparing the picture to the storefront. Apparently it was renovated a year ago. Ordered a rare cheeseburger with the fixings. Also had their fries and onion rings. The cheeseburger comes the way it was served back in the day, no plate only a white napkin. Topped with shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo and American melted on top of the patty. And what a patty it was. It was 6.5 ounces of loosely packed delicious that glistened with beautiful grease that dripped down with every bite. Fries weren't really special but their onion rings are pretty good. Breadcrumbs instead of a traditional batter. At 4.50 for a cheeseburger, 2 bucks for fries and 3 for onion rings, definitely doesn't break the bank.

Pros: Great burger, unique atmosphere Cons: Fries are okay, eat burgers on napkins I tried Stella's not long ago after hearing great things about it. When I lived in Omaha, I hardly ever ventured out to Bellevue unless I was going to a sporting event or something, so it was kind of out of the way. However, after finally giving it a shot, I'll say that it lives up to most of its lofty expectations. I love the size of the burger. It's not huge and it's not small. Just right. The meat is juicy and tasty and fits evenly with the buns. I like how small the place is and how they have RC Cola on tap. That's classic. I knock off one star for two reasons. The fries weren't that good. A great sider order of fries would probably have made the burger taste even better. Also, you don't eat the burger on a plate, but on napkins. The grease soaks through and it gets to be messy. I don't mind a little messyness, but here it gets a bit much. Overall, a very good burger. Not the best, but in my top 10 for sure.

Even though they have refused my order to go when they are busy I have to change this review to 5 stars. I was just there again last Saturday and it was just unbelievable - it is the best burger in Omaha - without a doubt.

My beautiful wife read about this joint and I have heard from many that this is the place to go to get your burger groove on. Showed up midweek after the the lunch crowd and the place still very busy which is a good sign. Walked in and sat at the counter and was waited on as fast as I sat down which to me if I get the service they get the tip. Ordered my burger which was a cheeseburger with cheddar cheese added bacon, grilled onions and the best part a fried over easy egg. As I took my first bite I could taste everything on it and for a change you could actually tell it had been seasoned. The grease and gooey goodness ran down my fingers onto my hand and at this time I was in hamburger ecstasy and wondered why I had not come here way before this and bring my wife. The wait staff was amazing and helpful and above the norm and they also have a great beer selection along with a full bar and flat screen TVs. I am ready for another please and I will be back to this house of burger heaven and honey I promise I will bring you this time and one more thing is that Guy you missed the bus to burger-town by not coming here for the real deal. Thanks for the best burger ever BIG LOVE

If you want an amazing hamburger (or even chicken sandwhich) and don't mind grease go here. I really do love this place but sometimes I don't like the amount of grease that comes with your food. Or the fact that it is very small. But all in all a really good value your for $ and great staff & wonderful food.

Having lived in Omaha for 11 years, I have no idea how I managed to miss Stella's. I recently went back to Nebraska for a visit, and I stayed with some friends who live in Bellevue. They convinced me that we needed to go to Stella's one evening. Yummmm! Stella's is a very informal dining place. I ordered the veggie burger and sweet potato fries. The burger came out served on nothing but a napkin. No, they don't use plates here, folks! It was absolutely delicious, as were the sweet potato fries (they at least came in a basket). This place is so popular that there is literally a line that forms around dinner time. People line up here to get in for a burger. I'm glad I finally found this gem, and I'll go back the next time I'm in town.

A definite treat when in Omaha! Small, family operated, with a neat history and great food. A burger any way you can image made with fresh beef and fresh toppings. I'm not a fan of their fries though. Sweet Potato or otherwise the fries just don't cut it. The onion rings make up for what the frie options lack. They're always busy and as a result the service can suffer a little. Like I said, I'm a fan and go out of my way to eat there. But for cry'n out loud, build a set of double entry doors to keep the cold air out...it's Nebraska!

Stella's is a small place a touch out of the way in Bellevue, but not more than a 5 - 10 minute drive from Midtown. When we arrived, I got the feeling that we were going to a close friends house for dinner. We were greeted by SUPER friendly staff and joined our group rather quickly with zero wait (it was also 8pm on a Wednesday). It didn't take long to realize why Stella's is such a local favorite. Our table ordered each of the sides, onion rings, hand cut fries and sweet potato fries, none of which were disappointing. All three were SO fresh and delicious, it was hard to stop eating them. Depending on your like for salt the handcut fries might use a little, but I was happy as they were and dunked them greedily in my pile of napkin contained ketchup. They serve them just a little before the burgers arrive so, they are more like an appetizer which I personally liked. There were a few tables of people with our group who all ordered at different times so it was fun to see what other people got as the orders came out. Don't expect ANYthing fancy from Stella's. You get your burger served to you on a napkin and sides come in wax paper lined bowls. I appreciated the minimalism of it all, but I can easily see some of the more bougie types getting a bit put off that there isn't a plate in sight! However, what Stella's lacks in flatware, they definitely compensate for in taste! I got the veggie burger which the woman who took our order plainly told me wasn't the regular one that they have. If what I ate wasn't what they normally have, I'm going back to have that cause my veggie burger was EASY one of the best that I've had in the metro area. It was supposed to be a spicy black bean, but I didn't get much kick from it. I also enjoy spicy, spicy so, that could be why. Toppings piled on, big fluffy bun = SO YUMMY! My only regret is that I forgot to ask for cheese! I am definitely going back for more! If eating off a napkin and giant portions for minimal money are your thing, Stella's is your place! And even if those things aren't your thing, still go!!! You won't be sorry!!!

Stella's is a classic Omaha establishment that serves probably the best burgers in the metro area. The meat is very fresh and you can tell it hasn't been frozen. Food service is really fast...it took less than 10 minutes from sitting down at the table to eating our food. The fries are kinda meh (I think they taste just like five guys), and the onion rings are average...this place is all about the burgers. Bottom Line: If you're craving a great burger, Stella's is your best bet.

    (4)
  • Josh V.

My favorite burger joint in Omaha. Food is constant and tasty. Along with the simplicity of the menu and "home style" taste, the staff is very friendly. You do not get a sense of "Your not worthy to eat here" or "Your not in the club yet." Stella's is a very hyped restaurant, but it lives up to it's name in every way; you can even bring your kids. ONLY downside: Your lucky to find a seat. Stella's is so popular, your likely to end of waiting or going elsewhere during peak operating hours. It's not enough to knock a star off, but they could use more seating.

  • Katy B.

Stella's never disappoints. From the moment I step out of my car I am overwhelmed by the mouthwatering smell in the air... Bacon! I went during the lunch hour and my cheeseburger & onion rings were I'm front of me before I'd even cracked open my beer. Great service and awesome food!

I'm far from a burger connoisseur, but I love 'em to death and have tried my fair share. I've had burgers from both coasts (Umami burger, Roam, In & Out, Shake Shack) and Stella's burger is hands down the best and juiciest burger patty I've ever tasted. I have dreams about this burger. I have cravings after I eat other burgers for Stella's burger. When I idealize a burger the way Socrates describes the ideal in a vacuum, this is the burger that is in my mind.

Having just moved to Omaha, I was craving a fantastic burger. When I asked where to go for such a meal, the universal response I got was, "Stella's!" And I was hopeful the line out the door was going to be a good omen, but I was slightly disappointed. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, The prices were quite fair. The turn-around from order to table delivery was impressive. But the flavor was just average. The bun out-sized the burger significantly, and the sweet potato fries were luke-warm. I would eat here again if asked to go here, but I'm not sure I would go again on my own.

Few places could make me doubt the superiority of the In & Out burger... but Stella's is one such place. It's a tiny little speck of a restaurant, and is well known throughout town, so it tends to be PACKED during any normal eating hours. Even so, make the effort, wait the ten to fifteen minutes for your table. It's worth it. The burgers... oh my lord, the burgers! I'm normally not a fan of larger patties, but these juicy, cooked-to-order burgers are exceptional. They're flavorful enough that you don't NEED to order any toppings on it. That said, a Stella's cheese-burger with bacon, lettuce, tomato and a fried egg might be the best under-$10 meal in all of Nebraska. The sides are competent, but as several others have noted here, this place is ALL about the burger. The drink selection fits the restaurant: it's tiny. However, they do offer a few special mixed drinks and enough varieties of beer to keep most adults happy. Even if your poison of choice is nowhere to be found at the bar, though, you still NEED to go here, just to experience the burgergasm that is Stella's.

Great service and a delicious artery clogging burger. I got the staple which has bacon and a fried egg and then I added the peanut butter. I think next time ill skip the egg so I get the full effect of the PB and bacon. Sweet potato waffle fries were great and so were the regular fries. The service was great as they paid special attention to my friends' son and even found some fruit snacks for him! A must try in Omaha!

I've lived in Omaha my entire life yet I've never been to Stella's. That changed when I made the journey from Bennington to Bellevue for lunch this afternoon. We arrived around 1 PM and the place was packed. We snatched a table as soon as a family got up to leave. After perusing the menu, I ordered the cheeseburger with cheddar, grilled onions, and french fries. While waiting for my order, I read the history of the restaurant which is on a laminated sheet of paper with the menus. After 20 minutes or so, the waitress brought out the french fries. The were soaked in grease and I was underwhelmed by the taste. I expected something like Bronco's or Burger Star but they fell short. The burger was a large hand formed patty with a nice substantial bun that did a good job of holding in all the grease. The burger tasted good though it was slightly overcooked. The burger was also thicker than I generally prefer but I knew that ahead of time. I can definitely see why this place continues to pack em in nearly 80 years later. I can't say that it's my favorite but it's definitely worth the trip.

I don't usually eat beef, but the burgers at Stella's are juicy and my ideal. And not overprices like trendy burger joints in Philadelphia. Yum! The fresh cut fries were good, but a little less grease would have improved them. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. I went to Stella's as a kid in the early 80s and returned now (in 2010). It's nice to see some things are as good as you remember.

I'm a little upset with myself for not trying Stella's before this week. I had a fantastic meal. My first visit to Stella's wasn't even to eat, in fact, it was to watch someone attempt to eat their giant "Stellanator" burger. Still not horrified by what I witnessed, I decided to go back. For those of you not familiar with the "Stellanator", the description via their facebook fan page: "6- 6 1/2 ounce patties, 6 large eggs, grilled onions, 8 pieces of cheese, 14 pieces of bacon, Lots of Peanut Butter, jalapenos, and all the veggies!! I DARE YOU!!" If you're looking for the food baby of all food babies, you like your name and photo on a wall and free t-shirts, by all means, please, go to Stella's and ask for the "Stellanator". For the rest of us hungry, but not THAT hungry, they have some other pretty tasty and affordable options. What I liked best about Stella's is the simplicity of everything. You can order a single or a double burger, it comes with all the usual fixings: tomato, onion, lettus, pickle. For an additional charge you can add: caramelized onions, egg, bacon, pepper jack or american cheese or peanut butter. It was the tastiest and biggest burger I had ever had. I ordered a single (Almost got the double, happy I did not, it would have been impossible for me to eat, but don't let that discourage you!) I added bacon and egg and next I'm going for the peanut butter. I ate the whole damn thing and even an order of onion rings. ... I then ran 25 miles to burn it all off. (Just kidding) Stella's is worth the venture to Bellevue, if you're thinking the commute isn't worth it. One last thing you might find surprising is the lack of plates. Stella's burgers are served on napkins. Though I had heard this before my visit I was surprised by it when my food came to my table. Do not be alarmed, it will all be okay.

I was looking forward to this place- seems like it's the "it" place to go as of late? However I was pretty disappointed. This is the epitomy of a "greasy diner." Probably not the best place to go for a vegetarian lol, but my grilled cheese sandwhich had hamburger stuck to the bread. The fries were absolutely disgusting...not sure if we just went on an off night? My friends even agreed that they were not cooked even half way...limp and greesy and uncooked. YUM. Don't see a reason to ever go back.

Probably not fair for me to rate it since the last time I ate here was 1981... but I can't save this review without rating it. When I was stationed at Offutt AFB, this was by far THE place to eat. I don't think they had more than a dozen tables but it was so popular, the lunch line was up to an hour wait. But we all thought it was worth every minute! The food and service were both EXCELLENT!

This place does one thing. Hamburgers, and does it pretty well. These are real hamburgers like you might make at home. I had the double Bacon chz with egg. It was good. However when you're making thick burgers like these you really need to add flavor be it grilling or seasoning the Meat. The one bad thing is the place Is a hole in the wall. The interior is not for those who want a Pleasant dining experience. If you just want a burger, down and dirty, stellas is the place.

My husband and I went here today after golfing at Fontenelle Hills. I had never been and when I walked in, it was pretty much what I expected. Yes it was small but still very charming. The burger was good but I think a little salt and pepper on the beef would send the burger into another time zone with deliciousness. For my taste, the bun was too thick and the fact that it wasn't toasted was a turn off for me. Once I got the perfect bite, meaning beef, cheese, bread, lettuce, tomatoe, onion, pickle and mayo all at once, it was awesome. The fries were interesting. They too need some seasoning. The service was prompt and pleasant. We will be back. Maybe I'll try the peanut butter with bacon. Also, to the person who said the prices were "out of line", I don't think $4.50 for a basic cheeseburger is out of line at all. With two drinks, to cheeseburgers and two sides of fries, we made it out of there for $21.00 and that's including tips.

A classic burger joint in every sense. The burgers are fantastic and the atmosphere is exactly how it should be in Nebraska. The staff is very friendly, there are old regulars mixing in with the business crowd and everyone is there for one thing, the burgers! The best is a classic cheeseburger with all the toppings. The burger just melts inside of that perfect bun. If you are in Omaha and looking for a burger, this is the one place you have to try.

I rank the taste of Stella's burger just a tiny bit behind Dinker's, but I know many rank Stella's as the best. It's just pure meaty, greasy, potatoe-y goodness. The best part about Stella's that puts it well above Dinker's in my book is the atmosphere. You'll often have to wait in a line outside the door to get in, but it's well worth it once you get inside. Stella's also has a better beer selection than Dinker's. It's just a great place to be, and it's even better to be able to share the experience with the great men and women from nearby Offutt Air Force Base.

Stella's does a mean burger. IMO, the fries were eh at best. I'm not a fan of fries that are of the soggy and burnt variety. Overall, this place has good burgers at prices that are easy on your wallet. The place isn't that big so plan your show time carefully or else you'll be waiting.

I had pretty high hopes for this place. We got our fries first. They were okey. I had to add salt which I don't know that I have ever done in my life. Then we got our burgers. The bun was huge, much bigger than the burger. I added a fried egg and BBQ sauce. Thank goodness for the sauce. I added salt for the second time in my life to the over done, dry burger. It wasn't a bad meal, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it and it sure didn't live up to the hype.

I always pictured Stella's as one of those run down burger stands where you have to worry about your foot going through the floor. That may have been through up until a few years ago when the new owner completed a (needed?) renovation. The parking lot at Stella's can easily hold twice as many cars as the whole place can. It is TINY! Aside from the two booths, three high top tables, and the bar seats, there are only 8 other tables. If you are going for lunch, get there early or get it to go. I was expecting the run down, old timer, working class bar/burger joint, but what I got was a new tables, chairs, and tile on the back bar feel. I thought I was disappointed, but as someone walked past my table I could feel the old sub-floor flex. The bones are still there, and more important, the flat top grill is still there. This is about great burgers anyway. The burgers did not disappoint. The menu keeps it simple with your plain, cheese, Swiss mushroom, and double variety of burgers. I missed the specials board on the way in and missed out on the "Southwest Burger." Look on the back of the menu for extra toppings such as, jalapenos, bacon, fried egg, and my favorite, PEANUT BUTTER. Sounds crazy, but don't knock it until you try it. I opted for a single cheeseburger (served on a napkin per tradition.) I am glad I didn't opt for the double because the single was more than enough. The burger was juicy but not dripping and had the "crust" from the 70+ year old flat top grill. The bun while nothing fancy, really tied the whole thing together (people just don't give enough credit to the bun.) I tried both the onion rings and the fresh cut fries. The onion rings were fine, but the fries were better. Hand cut, shoe string variety, fried crispy and salted right out of the oil. No beer on tap, but plenty of bottled beer at reasonable prices. Liquor you say? They have that too along with a small selection of wine by the glass. But who are we kidding, nothing goes together quite like Burger, Fries, and a BEER! Tips: Seat yourself More than 4 people? Good luck. Two burgers and a single order of fries is enough for two. Outdoor seating area when the weather permits. Conclusion: There has been a lot of hype that has gone into Stella's that is well deserved, but it may not meet everyones expectations when it comes to the best burger joint in town. Overall a great burger joint, with great history, that Omaha is lucky to have.

Cheap, perfect, burger. That is all, expect nothing more. We continue to come back here again and again despite the fact that you can really only order one thing, because it's just yummy. The place is tiny, and the staff just bring you your food, but the burger is good (did I mention that yet?) OH! And the best secret of all? They have sweet tea! I know, you can jump up and down and run around (I did). For some reason they keep this from you! In ATL when you ordered tea, they would say "Sweet or not?". Here they just bring you unsweet, luckily the other waitress slipped and asked which kind I ordered when she came by for refills or I never would have discovered this monumental bit of information.

Search the planet, you will not find a better burger! Always fresh, hot and juicy, served on a napkin. Great grilled onions, delicious fries (be sure to order them well done), reasonable prices, canned beer and canned soda. I cannot get enough of Stella's. Where else can you get a can of grape soda? Food did not change after remodel (2007?), but I certainly miss the the dumpy bar!

So sad that I've lived in Bellevue for 6 years and only now finally tried Stella's. It lived up to all the claims....good, fresh, greasy, delicious burgers and fries. The place is small, crowded (always a GOOD sign), and the burgers are delicious. Enough said. A great place for a burger fix.

I've been here 5 years and everyone told us to go to Stellas for the best burgers anywhere. We finally went and had ourselves a burger, fries & onion rings. The meal was good, the ingredients were very fresh, and the environment was fun and lively. I really liked the music and great attitudes of the waitresses. On the other hand, the burger wasn't the best I've ever had - it was above average but I've had other burgers just as good at other similar speciality burger places. Still, it was good and not overly expensive, so I will probably go back. I don't think I can ever rate a burger place 5-stars again after enjoying the best burgers I've ever eaten at Kenosha's "The Spot!" Sorry Stellas, you're still #2 to me.

  • Nick B.

Went here on a Saturday night only took a couple minutes to get seated, small fire on the grill so our food took a while to get to us but we were rewarded with another order of onion rings. Overall the burgers are as good as it gets and it's a really cozy atmosphere with the nicest workers. Check it out!

This place was great. I was in NE on business from VA and found this place on Yelp. It was every bit as good as I'd hoped for. It was crowded at lunch time but sat at the bar and it was worth it. Love the history and longevity of the place. Looks sort of like a dive from outside but better inside. The stella staple burger (burger with cheese, fried egg, and bacon) was delicious!

My father has been coming here since the 70s. When Stella, herself, used to flip the burgers behind the counter. I've been lucky enough to go with him a few times, as I do not live very close, and I have to say... YAY!! Stella's has awesome food. I am always shocked when I see the size of the burger. The best thing about the joint is their Chilli!! Best Chilli hands down. I am pregnant right now and very picky. I love everything spicy, so i've tried all kinds of food with a kick. This Chilli made my nose run just enough and not too much. My mother makes a lot of Chilli and I feel bad saying this, but this Chilli just might be better. :-) Sorry mom. My only complaints are the greasy french fries & the burger buns. They should use better buns, the buns they use are garbage. I'm just saying.

I came here a lot when I was growing up. It was one of my families 'places' we got to go to every so often, and it always was a favorite of mine. Going back now is strange - as they have remodeled and added a patio! I like the new space, and the new additions don't take away from the feeling of the place... but there is something missing from that original burger shack that stood on the hill. The menu is great. Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Pork Sandwich, Fries. thats it. Awesome! Maybe there is a Chicken sandwhich too, but the menu is simple and great. The burgers get served on a napkin with usually a thumbprint on the top bun. The burgers are AWESOME! I haven't tried anything else except for the fries - which are good enough, but are soggy and greasy... even though they are homestyle in the realest nature, the fries are lacking in a lot of areas. 10 of 10 for the burger 6 of 10 for the fries. Try it! I love Stellas!

I have been eating here since highschool - 30 years ago! The burgers are the BEST and still served on a napkin.

  • Matt J.

They don't have an extensive menu, they don't have a lot of space, hell they don't even have plates. But they do have a great burger and the 73 year old grill that they still make them on. Burgers are great and so are the onion rings. Kind of odd but they serve the burgers on a paper napkin. But hey for about $5 you get a fresh never frozen 6.5oz burger. I was a first timer there today but definitely worth the stop. Burgers are $4 and cheeseburgers are $4.50. I opted for the bacon cheeseburger... Great choice. Bacon was extra crispy, just like I like it. And for only an extra $.60, definitely worth the extra change. They do take Visa and MC but no Amex.

Next to Louie M's arguably the best burger in Okieha metro! Served just like the old days on grease soaked wax paper. Match it up with a Royal Crown Cola and fries for under 5 bucks and what more can you ask?

One of the best Burgers in Omaha. Thick, hand formed patties and really good fries [a lot like in-n-out fries if you're from cali] Small and no frills but worth the wait if there is a line

Stella's is the best burger in the Omaha area! If you have not been here you must go! If you are lucky you will get to watch someone attempt to complete the Stellanator challange. Delicious! I was able to bring a family of 4 here and eat for about $30! What a great deal!

Me and my boyfriend went here on a Saturday afternoon and it was super crowded so we sat at the only 2 seats left open at the bar. We had to wait a while for our order to be taken. We weren't upset about it though, since it was so busy. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and my boyfriend ordered a double cheeseburger. My sandwich was average at best but this place is known for their burgers. I don't eat burgers unless I'm starving and there's nothing else to eat. My boyfriend LOVES their burgers. I can't really give a fair rating since I got a chicken sandwich but oh well.

We made a special point to go to Stella's after reading rave reviews about the burgers. Incredible disappointment! We should have just stopped at Wendys and saved the money. The buns were cold, the swiss cheese was a small slice of cold processed cheese, and the meat was flavorless (and barely warm). The burger was huge, almost too huge to get your mouth around, which is no problem if it's a really good burger, but It wasn't. We were both staring at each other like, "We went out of our way for THIS?" Never again!

I swear, this is the best burger I've ever had in my life. If for some terrible reason you find yourself in Nebraska (no offense, locals) then you need one of these! Prompt service, friendly staff, good seating. But even if that all goes to hell, the burger is worth it.

Stella's has some of the best burgers in the area, in my opinion. They have a great selection of toppings and the burgers are always cooked perfectly. Be prepared that you get your burgers on a thin little napkin and your fries in a grease covered wax paper lined bowl but with that aside, I love this place. The burgers are great but I do think the fries could use some improving. Overall it's a place everyone should try.

  • Annie P.

I'm not the burger person in my family, but my wife said that they were great burgers. Burgers that you expect to eat if you were making them at home. The only thing she did not like was that the burgers did not have enough vegetables (lettuce, onions, tomatoes, etc) on them. Fries were decent, but nothing special. She has gone and probably will go again.

  • jane f.

I thought the burger I had was pretty good - the fries were just so so. This is a very basic hamburger joint. If you are looking for something with an extensive menu this is not the place. The prices are right.; For some reason they had gotten rid of their draft beer when I was there - the bottled selection was ok.

Yes Stella's is a good Burger joint and a good place for a beer. It has a updated interior but not the grill; it is sacred ground their! It should be on the Omaha area listing thought, I guess for the life of me how Bellevue is not part of Omaha search is beyond me. It seems funny how Chain places make the list, their are more good local places than Fuddruckers,

i have not been to every corner of the globe. i haven't been to every corner of the country. but i can say with confidence this: you will not find a better cheeseburger than Stella's offers. this isn't about fixin's or specialty burgers, this isn't about gourmet fries cooked in duck fat. this isn't about unique draft beers or bartender service. this is about the classic american cheeseburger. the omaha area does not have a comparable multi-generational seasoned griddle. it's gonna be served on a napkin, not a plate, it's gonna have plenty of tomato lettuce and onion. (the bun is completely overlooked, i don't know where they get them, but totally grease-soaking delicious.) best times to go? hungover, friends from out of town, weekday lunch, or Husker gameday. you'll love it. or you wont, and if that's the case, go to sonic.

After discovering this place on Yelp and then having it endorsed by a coworker, I decided to stop at Stella's for a take-out burger to take back to my hotel during a business trip. The place was hoping at 5:15 on a Thursday and it took me a minute to realize I should probably just approach the bar counter to place a take-out order. Several of the staff were in the area filling and prepping orders and as soon as I was finished looking over the menu one was ready to take my order. It was no problem placing a take-out order, and she even thought to check if I wanted ketchup and mustard packets. While I waited, she got me a take-out menu and chatted a bit, informing me that the grill is 70-some years old (I think). It took what felt like a long time for the order to be filled (time crawls when you can smell food cooking). My food was put in two styrofoam containers placed in a paper bag along with plenty of condiment packets. No concerns about the grease soaking through the bottom of the bag on my way home. The burger (mushroom/swiss with bacon--I know, not much imagination) was great. It was messy to eat but held together fairly well and didn't seem overwhelmingly greasy. I got their chips instead of fries. They were fairly good, perhaps very slightly overcooked and probably would have been better fresh at the restaurant. Plus I think I was hoping they would be thicker--I didn't read the menu too closely. I'll be keeping their take-out menu in my travel file and will very likely be back when I find myself out here again. By the way, their menu includes veggie burger, grilled chicken and pork, BLT, fried egg sandwich, basket of ship, and other items. I can't vouch for any of that, but it wasn't clear to me from other reviews that such a variety was even offered.

My husband and I LOVE going to Stellas. The burgers are the best I've ever had... EVER. They are huge and greasy and amazing. The atmosphere there is great, service is friendly and they are very attentive. They are also very clean which is a major plus. The only reason I give it just four stars is because it can get quite crowded in there. They also have really good chili.

Getting a zero for customer service. They charged more to our account than was authorized and when we called to get it dealt with, Stephanie the "manager" had an attitude from the beginning. She kept saying how she normally wouldnt refund our amount overcharged without proof. We told her multiple times that we would gladly send a copy of the receipt and the statement showing the charge. She declined and and then just kept repeating herself about proof. Then she said we make mistakes and you make mistakes too. Seriously? Who says that to a customer? Which is exactly what we asked her and all of the sudden she was like "STOP YELLING AT ME!" (Honest truth, no one yelled at her. We were being firm after her comment.) She then hung up on us. Real professional. She had an attitude the whole time and acted offended that someone would want their money back if they were overcharged. Not worth the hassle.

Hands down, one of the best burgers I've ever had. I had the Pastrami Burger (so did Mom), fiance had the one with the onion ring on it. We split onion rings and fries and sweet fries. Everything was awesome. Our server struggled a little bit on drink service, but at the end of the day, great food saves poor service! The burgers were juicy, messy, drip all over your face and hands good. The napkins are on the table for a reason. These are burgers done right, and I'd recommend it to anyone anytime, as long they're not in a hurry. It did take a while for our food to arrive, but seeing how small of a kitchen they have (it's open to public view) it was understandable. Eat here for sure.

Delicious, hot, beefy goodness. This was my second experience with Stella's, and I don't know why I don't come more often. A group of five, and we only had to wait fifteen minutes. Because this place is always packed, you do get a rushed vibe. We all ordered quickly, and devoured the burgers in record time too. Why? Maybe because of the loitering patrons hungrily waiting for our table, or the folks waiting outside for a seat too...Regardless, take time to savor and slow down, this burger is worth it. Next time, I won't let my self be rushed. I don't know what else I can add that others haven't already said. Excellent cheeseburgers. Bottom Line. Handcut fries are good, but a side is plenty to share. Onion rings are average, nothing fantastic. If you are daring, load up on all the exciting toppings they offer to fancy up your 6oz. patty. Aside from a little claustrophobia (the charm of the establishment?) this is one of Omaha's/ Bellevue's best burgers!

Not much you can say about a burger joint. Served on a napkin! If you are in the mood for a greasy... GREASY burger... this is the place. You choose your topics. Sweet Potato fries... delish Regular fries... delish It is always crowded during lunch and dinner time... not to mention the place is super small. You could lay down and touch all four sides of the restaurant :) But that shouldn't discourage you because the burgers are muy excellente.

I was impressed. We were impressed. You know a burger is good when you bite into it and juice drips down your elbow! We ordered Bacon and Blue Burger, Patty Melt, BLT, Bacon Cheeseburger, and kids Mac & Cheese. we also got French Fries and Chips. Everything was cooked to order. If you want your burger cooked less than well done, be sure to ask. The fries are a hit or miss, tonight they tasted a little burnt- which my DH and son loved! My daughter and I loved the fresh made chips!! Everything is ordered separately, burger then toppings, then sides- unless a specialty burger is ordered, which has set toppings. Family of 5, cost $38 total. Very affordable!

I love hamburgers and this place is one for the books. Service, food and price all 5 stars. I built my own burger with pepper jack, jalapeños, and bacon. The waitress didn't ask how I'd like my burger cooked so I was worried but I received the best medium well burger ever. Super juicy. My husband ordered the bacon and blue cheese burger which was made with awesome blue cheese. Onion rings were crispy, sweet potatoe fries were solid. My only complaint would be poor beer selection. I'm a craft beer nerd and the selection was minimal. Good beer and burgers go well together

Awesome greasy food. Order anything.... It's all good. The owners are always there and talk to everyone to make sure you had a good experience. Staff is great. Beer selection is great. It's a smaller place that is always packed because they are famous for their awesome food.

Going to Stella's is always a treat. I've been there about five times, and it never disappoints. More often than not, there's a bit of a wait, so if you're going with a larger group, be prepared to wait around a bit before being seated. Also, if you have anyone in your party who is a tad impatient, this might not be the place for them. There really isn't much room to stand when the line is getting backed up, so you may have to wait outside. However, you can take comfort in the fact that the staff is working hard to get tables turned over and ready for hungry patrons. This is definitely in my top 5 favorite spots for burgers. The "Staple" burger with bacon and a fried egg is always a safe bet if you really want the maximum amount of flavor. But you really can't go wrong with any of their burgers, as these patties are grilled to perfection. I did try to be bold one time and gave peanut butter a try to see what the big deal was, but I ended up hating it. It added a sweetness that was somewhat overpowering and muted all the good savory flavors of the burger. I thought maybe there was something special about the combination since people seem to buzz about it a lot, and they even include it on their master creation, the Stellanator. Yet it ended up being exactly how I'd expect -- out of place and not complimentary. But don't let me stop you from trying it, as others swear by it. I honestly have never tried any of their other food, so I feel like I'm cheating by writing a review of a place where I've never tried anything other than the burgers. But honestly, if you're going to Stella's, I can't imagine you're making this your destination for anything else. I can speak to the fries, which are average. They always seemed to be right out of the fryer, though, which is a plus to have them fresh. You'll likely be more focused on your burger anyway to really care about them. The service can be a little gruff, but that's half the charm of this dive joint. At the end of the day, they are actually polite and helpful, but since the place is always packed, they're constantly on the run and being worked into the ground. If you love burgers, this place is a must. It had been hyped up to me for years, and I didn't get around to going for the first time until about a year ago. It certainly lived up to everything I had heard about it, and I try to make a point of driving down to Bellevue to satisfy my craving once every two months.

One of the best burgers I've had. My coworkers and I went here for lunch a days ago and it was great. It's a pretty small place and there were people waiting for it to open at 11, so it gets filled up fast. It took a little while to get our food out since we they got full immediately, but that's to be expected. I went with the Southwest Burger, which is a burger topped with BBQ sauce, Swiss and American cheese, and 2 onion rings. It was delicious! The staff and the owner were all very friendly and helpful. I'm excited to go back and try some more of their burgers.

For being served on paper napkins that the grease from the burgers practically soak through the moment they are placed upon them Stella's Bar & Grill is my absolute favorite burger joint in Bellevue. It sits on a hill just up the road from my church and house and its a small family owned restaurant. The only complaint I would say I have is when the waitstaff gets super busy they do occasionally mess up drink orders, however the quality of the service and the food more than makes up for it. The servers are attentive and very polite, even going so far as to take a moment if they have it and joke around with their customers. The atmosphere is like you would expect to find at a sports bar. You can see the cooks when they make your order, and the meat is all fresh and not frozen. Sure, it's a greasy meal but good lord is it awesome.

I finally made the trek to Bellevue to try these infamous burgers. Lets just say, I was not disappointed! I went with a cheeseburger and added mayo, peanut butter, and a fried egg. It was delicious! Next time I will be sure to ask for extra peanut butter, this seriously is what makes the burger. Where the money is really at though, is those sweet potato fries! They may very well be better than the burger itself. They are perfectly fried and seasoned just right. I can't wait to go back and get it again.

This place is... good. The wait staff is awesome. The atmosphere is cramped but it forces you into chatting with strangers... which in my book isn't a bad thing... usually. But as far as the BEST burger ever... no... sorry. They are yummy. The array of toppings you can choose from is really nice. The bun was really fresh and they even offer a gluten free option for 50cents more if your diet requires that sort of thing. Should you go to Stella's... yes you should.... Should you expect to leave jumping up and down and hollering to your momma that you just had the most mind blowing experience with a hunk of meat you ever had in your life... probably not. However you will leave satisfied and so full you can barely manage to waddle to your car. And that's a good thing in my book.

Very good burgers and fries. Good beer selection. Easy to get to. Friendly staff. I recommend this place to any true burger lover. We will eat here again. Thanks.

I wasn't let down by the fame - long lines, good burgers, & lots of history. It was a busy Friday night, so our service was rushed and brusque, with only a quick "how was everything" when he dropped the completed credit card slip where we add tips. My empty water glass wasn't filled all meal, and we weren't offered additional beverages before the bill was dropped. We were also a bit starved for space at a 2-top close to the door, and squeezed between the bar stools and a 4-top. The servers and patrons brushed our elbows at nearly every pass. Also, they serve the burgers on a napkin, so be sure to ask for a basket if that is going to be an issue for you. My burger was good, not great. I ordered the simple cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Right amount of grease, right amount of awkward to eat, and right amount of moist (even though i forgot to request medium-rare) but lacking in the desired amount of flavor. It just wasn't the expected love-at-first-bite for me. McDonald's paved the way to universal happiness by making the patties nearly flavorless (true story), so perhaps Stella's found fame the same way. If you don't add any offending spices or flavor, you won't offend anyone! The controversial fries were fine by our standards. Seemed like they cook them a short time at a high oil temp, so the outside is lightly fried, and the inside is just a second passed raw. Not a way I've ever seen them cooked before, but tasty. Next time we will try a weeknight, and I'll be sure to add something flavorful to my burger (peanut butter perhaps?). Give it a whirl, but the "Best Burger in Omaha" remains elusive for me.

Had a cheeseburger with pepper jack and bacon, it was great! I wish avocado would have been an option though. I also thought the shredded lettuce was different. I am a fry snob and didn't like their fries but I would go back for a burger again. Fun note, when they offered colors to my kids they brought out coloring books :) Seating was a bit crowded but service was friendly and decently quick.

Cleanliness 4 Service 5 Food 5 Likelihood 5 1-5 (5 Best!) 4.8 My 3rd or 4th time in the last several months. I first ate at Stella's when Grandma Stella was standing at the end of the bar when I was 5-6 years old. (About 200 pounds ago!) We shared fries, rings and each had a burger. Simply what a burger should be... hot, fresh, tasty. Take a bite and see the steam of freshness not heat lamps or microwaves. The staff works a team refilling drinks, a lost art in most restaurants, and were ice teas is not $3-$5 dollars per glass. Support home town eateries!

PB&J!!!!! I was hesitant at first but I worked up the courage to try the Stella with peanut butter and jelly! It was amazing it added just enough extra sweetness. The place was busy but we were seated in decent time. I wouldn't recommend lingering, this isn't a time for socializing. Eat and open your chair so others can enjoy their Stella with PB&J. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO TRY IT! ADD PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY TO YOUR STELLA BURGER!

We've eaten a lot of burgers since moving to Omaha; however, after eating at Stella's; we now know the place to go if we have a hankering for hamburgers. Burgers are good sized and come with the standard lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickle, but you can have it made however you want and there are a number of different toppings to choose from: Extras Jalapenos, Fried Egg, Bacon, Jalapeno Bacon, Grilled Onions, Peanut Butter, Mushrooms, Cheddar Cheese, Pepper Jack Cheese, American Cheese, Swiss Cheese. Side of Ranch, Side of BBQ Sauce, Side of Pickles, etc I had the cheeseburger with cheddar, jalapeno bacon and a fried egg with ketchup, mustard and mayo......absolutely delicious...it was so good, I wanted another one even though I was already full. Wife loved her burger as well. Service is quick and friendly. Food comes out quickly. Be advised, that it can get very busy at lunch, so either come early or come a bit later. Oh, and if you are feeling exceptionally froggy, Stella's has a "food challenge" that you can try. It's called the Stellanator Eat the Stellanator, which is the burger, taller than a baby, consists of (6) 6.5 oz burger patties, 6 fried eggs, 12 pieces of bacon, 6 pieces of cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapenos, & Peanut Butter all on a bun served with a basket of fries. You do it in 45 minutes and it is free and you get your picture put up as part of the Hall of Fame......Fail.....and you go to the Hall of Shame.

Best burger around! Anyway you could want a burger and it will come out sloppy and will make you need a napkin, no plates which is odd at first but why would you but this burger down?

The burgers were thick and well cooked. Lots of choices. Prices really can't be beat. Service was a bit abrupt. Space is limited. Will return for good burgers on a day when I don't want to pay 12$ at a larger restaurant.

Such a fun and unique experience with amazing food! The onion rings are to die for! This trip I had the egg sandwich which was also amazing! For their high volume of customers they are so attentive and quick! You definitely want to experience Stella's

Ok went back twice since and back to normal. For the price and the Quality of TBE burgers it's well worth it. I guess the first review was during an off night. It happens.

Pastrami Burger!!! The pastrami and burger were both cooked perfectly. Often a lot of meat on a burger can cause it to be dry and just plain "meaty". Not this burger! Both of the meats were seasoned beautifully and the spicy mustard took it to another level. The only problem I see is that I live in Charlotte NC and I can't frequent Stella's every other day.

The burgers here are the gold standard of omaha. I've never had a bad meal here, the only negative thing to report was on the fried icecream. I ordered it one night, it was served in a puddle of what I thought was caramel sauce. It was oil from the fryer! Yuk! I like eating greasy food from time to time but that was a bit much.

There are few places in the state much less the country that absolutely refuse to change what made them famous and unequaled in what they do. Stella's is a perfect example of doing something simply very well and doing so for generations. It's almost as if they've scoffed at the corporate model of profits over people. The restaurant is full and the preparation model is fresh over fast and it shows when you bite into a delicious hot burger really made your way. Could this product be chained? Absolutely. Could the owners become overnight multi millionaires? Sure. Instead this business holds the line for quality and the vision of the original owner and founder Stella. Great story, great food, great experience.

I'm always in the mood for finding a decent tired and true hamburger joint and so one chilly day I discovered this place on accident. Stella's serves up maybe the best burgers in Nebraska. Any true burger enthusiast should give it a try. The burgers themselves are quite large for the price. You simply will not find a better burger for the price anywhere else. The burgers are always juicy and full of flavor. It's real beef; for real. Just toss out that Big Mac and head over here to eat some real beef. Sweet potato waffle fries are also on the menu, which is a huge plus in my book. Perhaps the most unique offering is a burger served on a glazed donut. Yes, a glazed donut. There may be no culinary creation that better exemplifies the American spirit than that. The environment of Stella's is also a one of kind experience. When my guest and I walked inside and sat down at a table, we felt slightly cramped. However, the unique aura of Stella's grew on me. I drank my Pabst Blue Ribbon and devoured my burger and it just felt right. Stella's is my kind of food accompanied by my kind of folk; people who simply like good, real food.

Family and I have been to Stella's a few times now and have never been disappointed. We love their Burgers and both types of their fries. While we've been lucky and haven't had to wait more than 10 minutes to sit, I wouldn't be surprised to expect longer waits during prime dinner times. (A victim of their own popularity)

I am not usually a hamburger person... But I love Stella's. I don't know what it is about the burgers, but they are just super good. The prices too, are on the cheaper end for a sit down burger place.

Amazing food!! Love the mushroom and Swiss, add jalepeno bacon and it's even better. Fries, chips, and onion rings were awesome as always. Would give a 5 star but waited for almost 2 hours for a table for 7. Got sat at a table for 4 on accident and then we moved all the way down the list again. Staff was very kind and sorry for the inconvenience. Will def be coming here many more times.

This is the only place you should go if you want a burger in Bellevue. For the price and service, Stellas beats out any other burger joint. Sorry Dinkers. I always get the Staple burger so I cant speak to the other burgers on the menu, but ho-ly shite! You will not find a juicier, more mouthwatering burger anywhere but here! This will be the 220 something review, so I wont waste your time...GO TO STELLAS!!!

Very small building mainly a bar. Burgers are not that good, very thick and rounded with no flavor. They're very greasy even when they're cooked well done seem like they grab a fist of raw 50/50 lean fat burger and cook it.

Best burger I've had in NE. The food was fresh and just delicious. I was very surprised on how quickly I ate their huge burger and fries!

Underwhelmed. Since moving to Omaha I have been told about the best burger in Omaha. Every single person rages over this burger place in Bellevue that I had to go to. So I went. From start to finish it was a awkward and bad experience. I showed up and it was raining lightly. I checked in after fighting through a line of people. The waiting area for the place is nil. You kind of stand between tables and near a bathroom or you stand outside. So we finally made it in and were shown to our seat. The floor of the place was slick so we kind of skated to our table. I ordered the Stella's Staple Burger. I figured the burger that holds the name of the place should be good way to start. The burger came on a napkin...unusual but to each their own. The veggies were fresh...ish, however the burger was dry. It lacked any kind of flavor. I hoped for my first bite to knock my socks off but it really just tasted like a burger I over cooked and under seasoned on someone else's grill. So at a point during my meal I went to the restroom...again through the hordes of customers into the single roomed bathroom that shares a wall with the kitchen. Upon exiting I felt every eye staring at me as I walked past tables and every customer back to my party. I didn't care but felt like the over set up of the location is horrible. So my review is this. The location is ok. The restaurant is awkwardly set up. And the food is lacking what someone might call flavor.
