The Village Inn of Tex-Mex. Mostly average (to slightly below average) food. People come here because their parents brought them here and the restaurant chain has been around forever. So, they come for the memories and out of habit more so than any other reason. If I had to recommend an entrée then I would go with the chicken soft tacos (it's the #3 on their lunch menu). You get three of them and they really fill them up. Good value and one of the yummier things on their menu. I've been here plenty of times and will probably be back here plenty more times. Whenever a large group of us is getting together for dinner this place always makes the short list. Prices are okay. Service is usually average. It's kid friendly. They're decent with large groups. Biggest gripe: No free chips and salsa?! What kind of tex-mex place is this? Second biggest gripe: The tomato sauce on their pizzas tastes like ketchup.

Tex-mex that plays it safe. Good Mexican food at reasonable prices. Don't take Mexican food snobs here though.

Quick lunch option and decided to check out Romeo's Mexican Food & Pizza....not your typical restaurant hence their catch phrase "nacho typical restaurant". The restaurant looks pretty worn on the outside and the pretty much well worn inside as well. Décor is mixed with both a Mexican flavor (of course) and soapbox derby cars hanging from the ceiling. Service was attentive. You pay for chips and salsa, but when we asked the waitress what she recommended since it was our first time, she went ahead and brought out chips and salsa on the house. Chips were thin and crispy and still warm. Salsa had good flavor. We ordered nacho salads, my was beef and my wife did chicken. Both were acceptable. While there was nothing per se wrong with our meal and the service was indeed good, I don't see ourselves spending our money to eat here.

Yuk. My arteries hardened after LOOKING at that "cheese" sauce. Uber thick...smh. And to order chips n salsa as an appetizer at a Mexican restaurant? Um, ok. Food totally sucked, but yeah, our server was great. Will NOT be goin back. If you want great Mexican, head to La Mesa in Bellevue & ask for Veronica.

I am not sure how this place ever got a 5 star rating from anyone! The food is terrible! I had the taco salad with beef, there was about two tablespoons of meat, no cheese a few chunks of tomatoes. The shell was greasy. Waitress was best part of the evening - she was pleasant, and attentive - but even good service won't bring me back with food as bad as I was served!

When a place serves both Mexican food and pizza, you know you are in for a bad meal. The prices are comparable to good Tex Mex places, but chips and salsa are an extra charge! I ordered cheese enchiladas, and they were made with flour tortillas instead of corn! The cheese was bland, and the only flavor in the enchilada gravy was chili powder. I did not even touch the dried out refried beans. This place is badly in need of a visit from the Restaurant Impossible guy from the Food Network.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate.
