I was given a bottle of mead from this place as a gift. And it was perfect. I had the citrus blend, and it was definitely well made

We came here for a yelp event a few months ago and got to enjoy some appetizers and a mead tasting. The tasting room is part of an older little strip mall off the side of the street. Parking in the lot was tight so we had to use the street. The place itself is pretty small but has a nice long bar with all their meads displayed and bar seating. We occupied most of the rest of the seating area with our large group. For the group we ordered several appetizer combos and a few pizzas. I couldn't participate in the appetizers since they all contain gluten, but the rest of the group seemed to enjoy them. They do have a gf pizza crust and can make several of their pizzas gf. I really enjoyed my pizza and even the others tried some and thought it was great for gf. The mead tasting was a lot of fun. It's difficult for me to judge this because I've come to find I'm not as much a fan of mead as I am wine. That being said, many of the ones I tasted were pleasant and a couple downright delicious! Passion fruit was my favorite. They are all gf as well. The tasting was pretty inexpensive too. Overall I definitely think this place is worth a visit, especially if you're more of a mead-o than a wino!

We love Moonstruck. They have a wide variety of meads to try in both still and carbonated forms. We each did a flight and were able to try all of the many flavors of melomel (fruit-flavored mead) in addition to the traditional show mead. Moonstruck has some of the best mead we've ever tasted. The highlights for us are the hops, blueberry, blackberry, cherry, and plum flavors. Peach, strawberry, apple and capsumel (pepper-flavored mead) were also good to try but weren't among those that we felt we could take an entire bottle of. You can have the mead in 1 ounce tastes, by the glass, and by the bottle. We ended up trying all the flavors, having a glass of blackberry and plum, and taking home bottles of blackberry and cherry. So, clearly we enjoyed it! :) The honey-crust personal pizzas were adorable, unique, and tasty. The service was friendly, attentive, and professional. All in all, we love ourselves some mead with pizza. Who knew?

My first experience with mead did not disappoint! The creativity with which Brian produces his top-of-the-line product is nothing short of amazing! Don't get it twisted, peeps! They're NOT moving! They are, however, looking at expansion! WOOOOHOOO!!! They also have added food to the mix! My favorite flavor is their Capzumel. My sister and her boyfriend loved their blueberry. :) If you are even remotely curious about mead, give this place a whirl! It is well worth the drive to OTB. Plus, you'll have options galore with their still and carbonated options!

(Fair warning, didn't try the food, only the mead) I've always wanted to try mead, but was having a hard time finding it in bars and local grocery stores (But I have recently confirmed mead is sold in limited varieties at some Hyvee locations depending on the season and honey available world-wide), but in my quest I stumbled upon the only meadery in all of Nebraska, Moonstruck! I had high hopes for the flavor and quality, and I must say I walked away VERY impressed. Their award winning mead is world-renowned, and rightly so. Their show mead is excellent still as well as carbonated, not overly sweet, and didn't have any burn of alcohol although it does have about a 10% ABV depending on the variety. I did a flight (6-1oz shots) which was very affordable and allowed me to try most of their different flavor options. I tried they Show, Strawberry, Cherry, Blackberry, Plum, and Passion Fruit, lastly of which was a limited batch so might not be available all of the time. They were out of their Apple, Hoppy (more akin to an ale), Peach, and Capsumel (Flavored by Serrano, Jalapeno, and Anaheim peppers), so I was unable to review these flavors. The Show was my favorite, followed by Plum and Cherry which tied for second, Strawberry was a close third, Blackberry was too much for me, and Passion Fruit was far too sweet for my taste, and left a bad film on my teeth. Plum and Cherry had light yet distinct flavors, very drinkable. The Strawberry was VERY flavorful and reminded my of a jam or preserve, which is great, but is too busy for more than a glass. The Blackberry was still quite enjoyable, but stick to a 1oz sampler unless blackberry is your thing. The Passion fruit I cannot recommend past a free sip from the bartender. I tried all of the flavors above "still" (Non-carbonated) which is how I recommend drinking mead, although I did sample a couple varieties carbonated just as a comparison, and while it did mildly increase the punch of the individual flavors, I found their "still" counterparts to have a more distinct and enjoyable flavor, not fizzy, but superior unless the bubbles are mandatory for your enjoyment. Lastly, there was a limited stock of a oak aged mead that was TO DIE FOR, and I highly recommend sampling or grabbing a glass of. It is not dissimilar to a light whisky, delicate scotch, or bourbon on the rocks. It was rather expensive compared to their other options, since it was about 50% more and had about 1/3 the size of bottle. It was however completely worth the price. Overall, a very wonderful and inexpensive venture for the viking at heart. I purchased a sampler of six flavors (1 oz each), and took home two Show bottles as well as a Plum bottle and it was only about $70. Couldn't recommend it more highly! Mead!

Visiting my hometown (after many year away) and found Moonstruck Meadery through Yelp. I can see why the reviews are great - and my review is based on one take out pizza. The Viking is piled high with deliciousness. I feel bad that I may never pass this way again. However, If I do, I hope Moonstruck is still around. Could be the Stella's of pizza.

Heard about Moonstruck Meadery and decided to give it a go, not fully knowing what to expect. Thought it was just a place to purchase Mead (alcohol derived from honey), but once inside, it's pleasant; tables, bar, and tasting room. The Meadery offers small snacks to pair with the Mead and a tasting menu which I decided to try The Meadery offers 7 varieties of Mead: Show Mead (Standard Mead) A traditional honey mead with tons of tasty honey notes. Pure fermented honey, no additions. (Comment: not too sweet with a slight bitter aftertaste) Cherry Mead (Fruit Melomel) A traditional honey Mead made with Montmorency Tart Cherries. It's full of honey sweetness, with plenty of cherry notes for the cherry lovers. (Comment: plenty of cherry flavor) Peach Mead (Fruit Melomel) Delicate peach character with fruity distinctive aromatics & honey notes. (Comment: okay, not overly strong) Blueberry Mead (Fruit Melomel) Sweet blueberry character with fruity distinctive aromatics & honey notes, a very berry favorite. (Comment: my least favorite, just didn't go down smoothly, had them pour out the rest of the glass after the first 1 or 2 sips....not for me) Capsumel Mead (Metheglin) A harmonious blend of Serrano, Jalapeno, and Anaheim peppers with a sweet distinctly identifiable Clover Honey, remarkably well balanced and excellent taste. (Comment: the most interesting taste of them all.......smell the mead before tasting , you really get the peppers) Moonstruck has recently added two other Meads: BlackBerry:(Comment: this and the plum were my favorites) Plum: The ladies behind the bar who assisted with the tasting were very knowledgeable of the Mead process and eager to engage and answer questions. Great enthusiasm. If you've never had Mead before, go to the Moonstruck Meadery and give it a try.

WOW!! Were we surprised. We were expecting thick, overly sweet stuff, not having ever tried Mead before..... BUT Mead is REALLY good!! We enjoyed doing a tasting. We each got a glass of the Hops Mead and a mini pizza. The Pizza's are exceptional. We had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed the atmosphere and conversation with the owner and staff. We will be going back here again now that we know Mead is Delish!

MoonStruck Meadery is so good they have had to close down twice because they sold out of Mead. They are going to have their grand 3rd times a charm reopening sometime at the end of April/beginning of May. They hope that the increase in production will allow them to stay open for good. A fun place to go with friends or family for an afternoon or evening of enjoyment. Great for gift giving, dinner parties, and my favorite ladies night in. Not sure what to get someone? They have gift certificates for any amount, and that way your special someone can decide for themselves. You can reserve tables for small groups or parties. Outside food is allowed.

My boyfriend is really into mead so we had to stop at this place on our drive to Cali. I really loved the oak aged mead, it reminded me of a port. His favorite was the hoppy mead, which wasn't too hoppy and had less of a sweet sweet flavor. They carry a ton of fruity meads that are their best sellers, but were not so much into the super sweet wines so it wasnt our favorite, but the traditional, oak aged and hoppy flavors were really good. We also had the Viking pizza and we loved it! The sauce was slightly sweet just how we like it, amazing. The service was good too, there's ample indoor seating and an outdoor patio for when it's nice out. The only thing we were sad about was that they were out of capsumel the spicy mead, we really wanted to try that, apparently it'll be back in stock in a month or so.

Charming place in Bellevue Nebraska. We saw it on the list of vendors at the beer festival in La Vista. It was too hot to attend the beer festival, but a perfect day to stop in and have lunch. The spinach artichoke dip was delightfully cheesy. The only down side was the tortilla chips served with the wonderful dip. I would have much rather had crisps of the delightful pizza crust. We ordered the Viking Pizza was a tasty concotion of pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, green olives, green peppers, and cheeses. The honey crust was light and complimented the toppings very well. On to the meads, which were all delightful. We were particularly fond of the plum, hoppy, and capsumel meads. The blueberry and blackberries were very tasty as well. We were disappointed in the apple and cherry. Both tasted a little too light. To go with the pizza we ordered a honey mead root beer that was addictive. A true hidden gem.

I love this place! Their pizza is really good and the flights of mead are cheap. The blueberry mead and the plum is my favorite! If you are in bellevue make sure to check it out.

I looked at this place earlier in the year from my in-law's backyard, and wondered what it was like. Four months later we were back in town and I was looking at it again from the deck. "Been over there yet?" "Nope" "Wanna go check out what they're doing?" "OK" When we walked in, I'd say they were busy for a place this small. They have a bar and a few scattered bistro tables that give Moonstruck an upscale feel. There were seven meads on the menu that day, and four of them came carbonated if you desired. We each ordered a five-sample for $5...1 ounce each sample. We tried the show, peach, cherry, blackberry and pepper meads. My favorites were the show and the cherry (they use MontMorency cherries from Michigan). The others were too sweet or too strange in aftertaste. The bar tender was friendly, and she really knew her product. She told us that each bottle had 1/2 lb. of honey, equivalent to half a million bee trips. We wanted to take the wives back there, but every time we looked over the rest of Labor Day weekend, they were closed. Too bad. I'm sure we will return during our next trip to town. 750ml bottles are $18 each.

Everyone who likes any form of alcohol needs to try Moonstruck Meadery! They make their mead from honey and they have different flavors like Peach, Blueberry, and Cherry. They also have what they call their Show mead and Capsumel which are pretty interesting flavors! Their Peach, in their carbonated version, I think is AMAZING! Definitely worth trying! As of this moment, they are out of the bottle version, but you can purchase a glass of it. I'm telling you, it's so good! Their other flavors are really enjoyable too! I'm not much of a fan of Blueberry, but if you like red wines, you may like this. Their show mead, I think, tastes very classic. A nice subtle taste. Their cherry, show and peach are my favorites :) Their capsumel flavor, it it very different. It has jalapeño and other earth tones that really taste earthy. Surprisingly, it is delicious! I am also advised that this is a good marinade as well as a fine beverage. I think their mead is so god that I always have issues deciding which flavors to bring home! If you're wondering what they may have for food products, they have crackers and cheese, which are also super yummy. The cheeses are locally made here in Nebraska, just like the mead. And the crackers, I'm not sure, but it is very tasty. Definitely great to go with the mead! FYI: Moonstruck Meadery is soon to have a blackberry flavor, which sounds super yummy that I will have to try it.

Ohhhh, Old Towne Bellevue. I leave town for a decade, and I come home to find that you are starting to get sexy. Mmmmm...Mission Avenue....stop being so suggestive... Holy crap. A meadery in the corner of the world where I grew up. Next to the DQ where I had my first parfait. Across from the Kwik Shop which took about $50 of my hard-earned arcade quarters. What poetry! Being a beer enthusiast, I jumped at the opportunity to finally have mead, and MoonStruck delivered. This good-looking establishment has a confident and delicious line of meads for consumption on site, or to carry home. Come in and let the great staff educate you on the art of mead. Be prepared to get a little buzzed, and also be prepared to spend a little dough. But don't begrudge the cash! It's well worth your money to support a great local store all while embracing a tipsy demeanor. So come down to Old Towne! She's got nice legs and likes to get you drunk!

Not a bad place at all. Small, but very pleasant. Decent parking and exceptionally friendly service. I tried some of the mead, and while my friends liked their samples, I was not as impressed (I'm more of a whiskey drinker, so perhaps that biased me). The pizza was not bad, but I'm not a huge fan of honey and I found that element of the crust to be a bit distracting. The appetizers, though, were first rate and truly outstanding! Of course I'll go back again, but not for the pizza, nor the mead. I'll go back for the atmosphere, the pleasant service and those rockin' appetizers!

I absolutely love this place! We are new to the Bellevue area and wanted to find a cool place to hang out and have some adult beverages. So happy we found this place......and we're so GLAD it is walking distance from our house! I typically don't drink mead, but was pleasantly surprised by the variety available here. They have so many flavors, including strawberry, plum, cherry, blackberry, and blueberry. I'd say my favorite is either the strawberry or blackberry. The capsumel flavor has a really cool pepper aftertaste. Their tastings are super reasonable at $1 per oz, and they have a military discount. Be sure to sign up for their club because they offer you a free glass of mead on your birthday. I would also recommend that you look at their specials throughout the week. For example, pizzas are half-price on Wednesdays and Thursdays is ladies' night where they offer their meads at a discount (to gals of course). In addition to their meads, they serve REALLY delicious pizza. We ordered a chicken pizza and it was SO good. Be sure to try their honey root beer along with your pizza (totally worth it). The staff here are SO friendly and helpful. The ambiance is very classy and cozy. They have seating inside and out, as well as free wifi. We will most certainly come back here!
