We were looking up gluten free Mexican food in Bellevue and this place came up. It has an adorable cozy atmosphere. Little booths and tables and some bar seating. We were greeted and immediately seated. One of the owners came over and spoke with me about gluten free items and preparation and I was so impressed with their knowledge and willingness to accommodate. For an extra charge you can have everything freshly made (corn tortilla chips and all!) fried in new oil and prepared in a separate area. We ordered mango and strawberry margaritas, and these were a couple of the best margaritas I've had in a while. Super flavorful and perfectly blended. The homemade chips and salsa were amazing! Still warm and full of flavor. My house tacos were delicious and made exactly the way my best friend's nana does, fried mmm. The beans and rice were also enjoyable. My friend had the flautas and said they were great. He also devoured a very generous order of sopapillas. Service was incredibly personable. Everyone was so nice and shared the origin of some of the menu items and the family with us. It felt more like having dinner in someone home than just an every day restaurant. Price was reasonable, about 45.00 for everything and the gf charges. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Bellevue.

Good little family-owned business in Old Bellevue. Great customer service and the food is pretty decent. #12 Fish tacos and all three desserts were delicious. Great for group lunches. Solid amount of drinks...try the horchata!

Oh my goodness I don't think I can write a review that will do this place justice my husband son and I went here for dinner the other night and it was incredible it was the most authentic tasting tamales I have found in the Bellevue area. My son loved his quesadilla everything was delicious and very cheap prices for what you get I would tell you if you're looking for some delicious Mexican cuisine in the Bellevue area this is the place to go!

The best Mexican food in the area. Much more flavor than the restaurant we ate at the previous night. I had the chicken chimmi and it was excellent. The qesso sauce really made it. The whole staff visited with us to make our experience complete with warm, friendly conversation. Don't miss out on this treasure!

Good spot, close to OAFB, old town Bellevue. Service was great and everything cooked in house. Guacamole was simple and delicious. We'll be back

This was one of the first meals out I had when I first moved to Nebraska. I love Mexican food, even "crappy Mexican food", and so I thought from the reviews I would love this place. Well....... my husband and I got food poisoning. It had been awhile since we'd had a good ol' system clean-out, so I guess I'm glad for that, but it was bad enough that I haven't eaten Mexican food since. And no, I'm not one of those prissy girls who claims everything gives her food poisoning. This was confirmed by two different doctors at Nebraska Medicine Bellevue. We couldn't move for 3 days. It was awful. The ambience is cute, the staff is friendly, the food is so-so; kind of on the bland side. Claims authenticity, and in fact the owners grew up where my bio-father grew up (they grew up in El Paso, my father is from Juarez), but the flavors didn't speak to me like the food my grandparents made did. I wanted to love this place! I really did. But now I have genuine worries about the food safety of this place, and cannot in good faith tell you to go here.

After reading all of the glowing reviews, we had high hopes for this place. Everything was just blah. The salsa had no flavor, the tostada was bland. Everything was just kind of flavorless. The waitress said they had to "tone flavors down for people". Well, if you are toning down spices, DO NOT CALL YOURSELF AUTHENTIC!" The restaurant is cute and the service is good but I do not think we will go back due to the quality of the food.

Great staff, great service, great food. Best Mexican food I've have since moving here. Definitely recommend to anyone that enjoys above "Taco Bell standard Food". Will be visiting regularly.

Delicious! This is just what you may get if you're lucky enough to be invited to someone's house who's mother is an authentic Mexican cook! Home made, fresh and seasoned to perfection! Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted and welcomed by the owners who kindly answered my questions about the menu - they pointed me in the right direction and ensured I was happy with my meal. The guacamole was perfection - made fresh to order & they even added fresh diced jalapeños just for me as I'd told them I like it spicy. I had a chile relleno & a beef enchilada - each was outstanding. For dessert I ordered the hot chocolate and enjoyed every drop. Do yourself a favor & head over right now - don't miss this gem in Old Town!

We love this place! The food is delicious- our favorites are the brisket tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas, flan, well, let's just say we haven't found anything we didn't like! The owners make everyone feel like family.

Love this little place...my husband had enchiladas and I had the rellenos. We also split a brisket taco, everything was delicious!

We were in the area for a baseball tournament and went out for dinner as a team. We decided to try Mi Casa based on the other reviews that we read from Yelp and we were not disappointed. The frozen strawberry margarita is delicious! I had the Brisket Tacos which were very yummy. I am not a fan of flan but my husband likes it so we ordered some for dessert. We were supposed to share but it was SO GOOD, I think I ate it all myself! We called ahead to ask them to set up tables for about 15 of us. It turned out to be 30 as more of our baseball families joined us. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, even though we arrived at 7:30 when they were getting ready to close at 8.

The food was great, the owners know what they are doing when it comes to authentic Southwest flavors, dishes and hospitality. Stacked enchiladas with onion and fried egg, fresh guacamole and a real nice chilie relleno. I won't drop them a star for not providing complementary chips and salsa with the meal but will say that was my only disappointment. Almost seems wrong to have to order them from the menu. We did not order the salsa since the guacamole was on special. We recommend this place for those who are looking for authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price.

My boyfriend and I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is amazing and the owners are very nice. I would highly recommend the brisket tacos they are amazing! The fish tacos are also fantastic. The portions are very large and I always seem to have some to bring home which I'm not complaining :).

Tonight was the first time we tried this little restaurant in old town Bellevue. Earlier in the evening, we were thinking we'd go to Nettie's, well, Nettie's was super busy. We then decided to try somewhere else. While driving, my husband was like, we were supposed to try Mi Casa! I'm like, what's Mi Casa? Well, we did end up going to Mi Casa obviously and we were not disappointed! First, the waitress was SO friendly, we definitely felt at home. We started off with a blended strawberry margarita and some nachos. The nachos were crunchy corn chips that were topped with sour cream, olives, and shredded beef. They came with a side of guacamole, salsa, and we put the jalapenos on the side otherwise they come on top and I would have died! Anyways, the margarita was DELICIOUS as were the nachos! The guacamole was the best I've had in a while now. I'm really not too much of a fan of eating it, but new restaurant, I must try! For our meals, they offered a Lenten special, so we tried them. First was the fish tacos that come with two tacos with home made corn tacos which are to soft tacos and rice. I haven't ever really tried fish tacos, I usually get chicken, but they were really good! I was surprised! My husband tried their fish dinner which came with two huge pieces of fish with a breaded batter, lightly seasoned. We could definitely tell this bread battered fish was not the kind you get in the freezer section and just reheat! It was so good and it didn't feel as if it was drowning in oil like some places. The fish dinner also came with rice and ceviche, which he said tasted delicious and that this plate could possibly make Mi Casa better than our previous favorite Mexican restaurant! My daughter shared this meal with my husband and she finished all of her portion! It must have been good otherwise she would not have eaten it and made a fuss and would not have any dinner! Okay, by now, we were all stuffed, the waitress asked us if we wanted to try their flan! Flan! Well, of course I would like to try their flan! We had to wait a few minutes of course because of how stuffed we were, but once it came, it looked so delicious, I could not wait to sink my spoon into it! I must say, it may have been the best flan I have had, well, ever! It was so tasty and so smooth we were so sad when it was gone! On a side note, they make their flan themselves! Not frozen or store bought! LOVE IT!! So, don't be discouraged if you drive by and there is no one in there. When we went in, there was only one other couple in there, but as we sat in the restaurant, it got busier and busier. Try it! You'll like it!

I've been there twice now and both times I was pleased. Small wait staff, so be prepared to wait for a couple minutes... nbd though. The food is amazing and the mole is where it's at!

Decent I guess, the service was not the best. The food is good but over priced for what you get.

This is our second visit. The food was excellent both time. We had the chicken mole' which was amazing. Mi Casa's version is very mild heat wise, but very flavorful (slightly sweet). I highly recommend it. We had all of the tortilla chip entrees on our first visit (salsa, guacamole, and cheese), all great.

This is a great little family owned place in old ton bellevue. It appears to be owned and operated by a husband and wife team. She was very pleasant and the place has a really comfortable feel to it. We started with homemade chips & guacamole. They make the guacamole to order and it was perfect. I ordered the chili colorado (steak and potatoes in a red sauce) and it was very good. My gf ordered tamales with rice and beans and she was very pleased (she is a tamale expert). Overall all I loved this place. The food was good, the beer was cold, the horchata was delicious and the people are wonderful. I only deduct one star because salsa is not provided on the table and the entrees could have used a little "zip". Give this place a try - I think you will be pleased.

This is a great little place in Olde Towne Bellevue. The food cooked there is fresh and made from family recipes. The owners grew up in El Paso, TX. We've eaten there 5 times in the past several months, and we're never disappointed. Be forewarned that chips and salsa are not complementary, but it's fresh salsa every day. They even sell it by the container to take home. They don't have a kids menu, but they will let the kids order off the lunch menu during dinner, which has smaller portions than the dinner menu. The bar is limited, but they have a selection of domestic and Mexican beers, and serve margaritas. My wife wasn't totally thrilled with the Strawberry Margarita though. The owners make their own lime mix however, and the traditional margaritas are really good. They advertised chicken mole on their Facebook page today, so my wife and I had to stop and have dinner tonight. Both of us ordered the Chicken Mole - it's awesome. We lived in Albuquerque for several years, and the mole is better than the few restaurants that serve it in Abq. Talking with the owners tonight, it sounds like it's becoming a permanent addition to the menu. We've had the Brisket Tacos here several times. The brisket is very tender and has good flavor. This is still one of our favorite menu items, but the mole is the new #1. I've had other menu items as well, but the last notable one I'm going to mention is the Chile Rellenos. Even when the Anaheim peppers are out of season, they manage to find fresh ones to make the rellenos. The rellenos are ALWAYS fresh. Mi Casa isn't quite a year old yet, but this family run gem holds a place close to our hearts!

Just went there with my wife and kids. We really enjoyed it. Service was great. Food was very good. Brisket tacos were a great little surprise, never would've thought to do brisket that way. Also, my kids loved the queso dip. We will definitely go back.

You can't beat this place for food (get the egg on top of the enchiladas), and friendly atmosphere. They are very supportive of the military (Offutt is right down the road).

it was ok, Great friendly atmosphere, family run business. I would love to have thought better of it. The dishes were not that good. I as hoping for some authentic good mexican, They had an asade special which was nothing more than some cubed arm roast in some tomato sauce, with pretty much zero flavor in the meat and even less in the sauce, the enchilada's were pretty typical of your standard red chili sauce with small amounts of meat in a tortilla

This place is great. The service is exceptional. The food is very flavorful. It has a small menu but it makes sense considering the location(olde town). It is run by an honest family who is very welcoming and have high standards.

This restaurant does not offer fresh juice margaritas, which, while not surprising, is nonetheless disappointing. At least they are not terribly expensive. The "famous" salsa is better than salsa you can buy at a grocery store, but nothing that stands out among decent restaurants. The quesadilla was good as long as you aren't a oaxaca purist (its cheddar and Jack). The signature brisket tacos are just slow cooked, marinated brisket with cheese in a flour tortilla. They're pretty tasty, but you probably shouldn't order them if you are craving Mexican food. Interestingly, the refried beans were the star of the meal. They were fresh, well made and very good. Service was fast and friendly. Overall, this place is a pretty good gringo-style Mexican restaurant.

This is a wonderful Southwest-style Mexican hole in the wall. Everything is homemade. The salsa was very tasty (the owners started out selling their homemade salsa at local farmers markets, and they still sell it by the pint if you want to take it home). The fish tacos are grilled, not fried, and are topped with a creamy guacamole. My friend loved the brisket tacos. The beef chimichanga is stuffed with shredded beef brisket that is very flavorful. The tortilla is lightly fried and very crispy, and it was covered in a tasty and a little spicy quest sauce. The beans were also homemade and yummy. For dessert, the flan was thick and delicious; the sopapillas were light, sweet, and crispy; and the cherry chimichanga was a treat! The four of us thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant, and we would gladly come back again.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
