New China Garden

On the way to the Grand Island State Fair, I was looking for somewhere to get a bite to eat, since I was hungry. And was in the mood for Chinese, since that's one of my favorite types of foods. So when driving through Aurora, Nebraska, I always knew there was a Chinese restaurant on US Highway 34, and said, I'll try them. So I did, and their Chinese buffet was good. So for any travelers, business people, truckers, bikers, or people just passing through... you feel like you need some good Chinese? New China Garden is the place for you if traveling along Highway 34 between Lincoln, to Grand Island.

The Casey's General Store in Aurora, NE has the best pizza in town!! It doesn't matter whether its breakfast pizza or regular pizzas, its all delicious. They also carry sandwiches (both breakfast and dinner), sub sandwiches, donuts and everything else a gas station would normally have. Almost every time you go here, the place is packed with customers. In a town of 4,500 that's awesome!
Best Pizza around! The employees are friendly and fun to be around. I go in here and eat lunch almost daily and have never been disappointed. Stop in you won't regret it.

Great little cafe in town! I was surprised this was not super busy at 12:30pm, but it could have been the day I went. There were a lot of tables with a few people occupying them so seating was not bad. My friend was here before and she showed me what I had to do to order. There were paper bags that has what you could order on the bag itself. It reminded me of Which Wich where you had to fill out the options to have on your sandwich. I went for the whole #2 Turkey sandwich, chips, and a soda which came out to around $7.57 total. The food came out a long time after but at least we got our food at the same time. The sandwich was good to me but very simple. It was pretty much something you could put together at home. There were other things on the menu which sounded good. On my second visit, I had #22 Turkey Herb which was a hot deli sandwich which took awhile to make. There was only one person in the back so that's probably why. I believe the hot deli sandwiches only came in the whole size and not half. The Turkey Herb was interesting, but I thought it was not bad. It was definitely a change of pace to me. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody stopping through Aurora, NE.
We stopped here for lunch while traveling thru town. From the reviews online we decided to give this place a try. While there was nothing special about the sandwiches, the service is what stood out the most!! And I am NOT referring to good service! The woman that was behind the counter taking our order was rude and unfriendly. She did not greet us with a smile or kind word. In fact, she was rather short with her instructions on how to order a sandwich. When jokingly asked if she was having a bad day, her response was "No - just a day". We thought about telling the owner, only to find out that this was the owner! It was so ironic to see that her art work on one wall included a piece that looked like it was printed on copy paper and said something about being grumpy or irritating there would be a $10 fine. We should have taken that down and presented it to her and told her to pay us the $10 fine for putting up with her rudeness! Not a pleasant woman at all.
On an all night cross country drive from Michigan to Utah, we were looking for a good place to pull off the expressway and get some breakfast. Being 3 miles off the expressway, Aurora looked like a good bet. we were excited to find Espressions in the old downtown area near the courthouse. This is a family run business, run by self professed foodies. Everything is homemade, even the sausage. We were thrilled to get omelettes and waffles made to order. Sides included rosemary potatoes, sausage, salsa and fruit. The couple running the business were very friendly, and were interested in our trip, giving us suggestions for places to stop nearby on our next time through. On a positive note, the owner is a mountain biker/cyclist.

This is just your typical, everyday Arby's except their located inside a truck stop. That being said, their prices are higher than most other Arby's. Every time I've eaten there, the food has been fresh and tasted great, along with great customer service.

This Pizza Hut is similar to most others around the country. My wife ordered our food through their app, and I went to pick it up. Like most other guys, I don't bother opening the boxes to check the order before leaving and of course we were shorted 8 Boneless Buffalo Wings. However, as my wife called to let them know, they not only fixed them for us but delivered them free of charge as well. My wife had some pasta and the kids had pan pizzas, all of which tasted great. A meal that could have been bad was corrected and everything tasted good.
