I travel a lot. Usually to the same place 3 or 4 times a year. We like to stop at different places occasionally, and not always the same places. We went to Ken and Dales. The atmosphere was nice, very nice in fact. The problem was, my friend found a piece of metal in her salad! It was like a sliver of metal you can sometimes get when using a can opener. The waitress took it over to whoever was in charge (who we noticed was on her second pint of beer since we had walked in). The waitress returned and offered my friend another salad. HAHAHA... My friend said "umm, I don't think so". Needless to say, a call to the health department is going to be made, and we will not be going back.

I don't know why the bad reviews...food and service was superb. Place was busy yet service was still fast. Wife had Southwestern Cobb and I had Club sandwich, both excellent. Interior decor is very nice too. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that beer should always be ice cold...it was cold but needed to be icey cold!

Went their with my wife on a Thursday night. Good food. The service was good as well. My only complaint was that the steak was cooked perfectly but the Rib-Eye was pretty poor quality. Other than that, everything else had good flavor and was cooked well. My wife's burger was juicy and tasted great. In a town with limited places to eat I would recommend Ken & Dale's.

Had breakfast here on my way to Sturgis, good location and easy to get into. Love the Rock n Roll theme, and the bathrooms are clean....yay! The menu look wonderful and a vast selection of items, not bad for small town USA.

Passing through Alliance from Custer State Park (SD) to Scottsbluff, via Carhenge of course. My family of five had a great lunch in this clean, friendly, and up-to-date place. The kids had chicken, my wife had the Cobb salad, and I had the ham and swiss on rye with cole slaw. I tried everything and all was good. Our waitress, Madisen, was friendly and helpful, as were other members of the staff. (A math error led me to undertip her, and I'm feeling rotten about it.) I would absolutely recommend this place to visitors and would believe it is a favorite among Alliance residents. Hit the spot perfectly.

My wife and I ate dinner there tonight. My wife had Cobb salad and I had the chicken fried steak. Both meals were good with the exception of the mashed potatoes! They were HARD and grey! The service was great I definitely do not recommend the mashed potatoes.

Stopped in after seeing car henge on my road trip. Ok place to stop. Moderate service speed. Wait staff wasn't mean but not friendly either. Found the prices slightly high for what I got. Ordered southwestern salad. Chicken and toppings were good but lettuce was very large pieces and not the best quality. Good local restaurant but nothing special.

The food was great and the staff was friendly. We went to another establishment in town for dinner and quickly left. This was our next stop and was more to our liking. The place was not very busy and the waitress spent a bit of time just talking with us. Since we were new in town and were asking questions about the area the conversation was much appreciated. I will return if I'm ever in the area again

I would have given no stars if I could. We were traveling through Nebraska and were in Alliance at lunch time so we stopped here. My wife wanted mashed potatoes with her chicken strips and was told by a very surly waitress that there we no substitutions, she would get the fries like the menu said. I ordered the fried chicken plate and I do not think I have ever seen smaller pieces of chicken if that is what it really was. It come with mashed potatoes which I did give to my wife. I don't recall, nor does she, when we have seen gray mashed potatoes or had mashed potatoes that were hard. Bottom line is find somewhere else to eat!

We were passing thru and didn't expect much. We weren't having much luck finding a place to eat and were happy to find it. Pleasantly surprised by the great food service and prices.

After driving for 36 hours and subsisting on garbage road food, my wife and I found this cave of wonders. The service was amazing, my soda never made it past 1/2 full. My wifes salad was crisp and her chicken amazing. I had a burger with jalapeno bacon that made my trip. Our server was kind and attentive and we left with wallet intact. I would drive back through just to eat here again. Dont get me started on that caramel cake though, better than new mittens in a snow storm.

Great burger, would recommend the fried Mac & Cheese! It was clean and the staff was nice.

Take a quick note from me, you'll regret it if you don't. Pass on this establishment. The service is poor, the food is worse and if you don't like something about your meal, DO NOT SENT IT BACK. If you do, you'll get one of the owners directly in your face with a not so kind reply and a GET OUT attached to it. As Ripley would say, Believe it, or Not!

Food was bad. French toast was burnt, and that was the highpoint of the meal. Staff was rude and clueless. Waitress was unaware of that come with our orders. They offered to move 2 tables together for us. At first we declined, but then asked to have the tables together. Hostess was very rude!!!!!!!! When checking out gentleman did not even speak to me as I paid the bill. This is a small town without many options. So will drive further in the future to be treated better.

What a delightful restaurant in the middle of almost nowhere. My husband and I stopped in for a late breakfast. The outside of the restaurant isn't much to look at, but the inside is clean, nicely decorated and furnished. It almost looked newly renovated, that's how clean it is. There were several flat screen tv's on the wall for viewing pleasure. The restaurant was pretty full when we walked in, and patrons continued to arrive even after we left. The ladies room was very clean. Sorry - cant speak to the men's room. The food was pretty good; cooked exactly as I asked. I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast with a side of sausage. Breakfast was good; although I wouldn't order the sausage again. My husband had the pancakes, ham and eggs. He says they were "damn good." Service was also good. They were a little bit slow bringing menus but once we were greeted at the table, service was attentive and friendly. Our final tab with 20% tip added was less than $18. The food itself wasn't 4-star but the overall experience was 4-star indeed.
