High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. I am a foodie. I'm not anti-chain restaurant but they're not my first choice usually. All that said, This was the tastiest Applebee's experience I've had in so many years I can't recall. I LOVED my meal. I had the Thai Shrimp salad and absolutely loved it. It was packed with flavor and crunch while being on the "Under 600 Calories" menu. I didn't expect to enjoy my meal as much as my husband who had the American Breakfast burger covered in a fried egg, hash browns, onions and bacon. I tried on bite and that too was excellent. Very good service for 75% capacity. Salad is $14 in Williston but I'm getting used to that.

This is the 2nd Applebee's in North Dakota that I try and their ribs suck! Too hard that even the knife didn't help! Appetizer was brought after we finished our meals and we were told it never went through the device that was on the table, which is understandable, but don't ever order ribs!! Their steak and shrimp is ok.

There are QUITE a few negative comments about this Applebee's..and I'm not going to lie.....I don't get it. I've spent many a lunch meeting here and every time, I have walked away happy. The food is standard Applebee's cuisine and in Williston...you pick your battles. I've never had a bad meal. I've never had a mistake with our order. I've never had a careless waiter/waitress. In fact, once we were given free dessert because the kitchen made up a Blondie they didn't need. (There are few situations in life as pleasant as getting free dessert!) So...I'm giving them FIVE STARS..in hopes that you ignore the negative and give them a shot! Also, their Carside To-Go is awesome! They are fast and anyone willing to brave the North Dakota tundra and bring the food to my toasty SUV gets BIG points in my book

Had a bacon burger quesadilla ! With lettuce and pico de gallo (diced tomatoes, no spice or onion?), served with fries Quesadilla was good with extra tobasco. Tip open it up and break up the burger to cover the whole tortilla or else it sits in the middle only Service was great

I went today at lunch. I sat at the bar and the bartender was cold. Not friendly at all. A man gave her a $10 tip and she did not say thank you kiss my A$$ or anything. My ribs were dry and to spicy. I did not eat 1/3 of them. When I complained about the spice she told me that is just they way they are. Don't know if I will give them a second chance or not! Ps. Bill was over $30 for one person.

After a long day at work, my fiancee and I decided to have lunch here. It was crowded and loud but we didn't really mind. A red-haired waitress called Sarah took forever to attend to us. She was rude, unhelpful and couldn't even apologize when she mixed up our order. We decided not to stay and eat, requested the dinner to-go and confronted the waitress on the need for courtesy. She refused to acknowledge, proudly advised us to speak to her manager and strolled off! I have a very calm and patient personality and I overlook first time disappointments but this experience was too negative for me to ignore.

I love to go to Applebees after working my ass off on the oil rig. i love the burgers there. Its nice to see the waitresses after being all day with smelly co-workers.

I ate here a couple of nights ago and I must say the food what what I expected and the drink was also fantastic, but what I didn't expect was the absent minded servers. First, received my appetizer, which was shared and was given no napkins, no additional plates nothing!! Wacky huh?!!! Them ordered main course and did not get utensils; when I asks for utensils they brought one although two meals were ordered; I mean come on people common sense. Then I waited 10 minutes and still did not get utensil from anyone in this establishment; had to wait to use my husbands utensils so I can eat: SMH!!!!! I mean come on people this is your job. The server had no knowledge of the menu in anyway and laughed I guess I need to learn my menu. Bottom line the food and drink was good but the service SUCKED!!!!!

Could you hire any more people that don't care to help?! This place isn't your typical Applebee's.... good luck getting anything close to what is on the menu. They are always out of food, beer, and drinks. I have been here about 5-10 times for lunch or dinner and have had about the same experience everytime. (I know I shouldn't go back, but not many options in this town.) If you have another choice, go. Otherwise enjoy what you didn't expect to get when you walked in the door....

I'm never impressed with any Applebee's but the food here is pathetic. The service is fine, the place is always packed, but the food is just terrible.

  • Crysta P.

Every time I go here I think...darn it, why did I make that mistake again?! The service is awful, and it is clearly cultural, because they go through tons of staff, and you rarely have a waiter who even cares vaguely. Management is just as bad. Yes, they are busy, but that doesn't preclude friendly. Lots of TVs if you want to watch sports. It's chain food, so fairly predictable, and not really anything special. But the real kicker is, it takes FOR-EVER. Don't try to go on a lunch break, because you'll surely be late with a doggy bag.

Went for happy hour. Good priced drinks, but the content for said drinks is lacking. Should have trusted my instinct when I saw $2 Long Islands. More like lemonade with a splash of alcohol

It seems to be the same story at many businesses in Williston right now- This is truly a 'Boom Town' at the moment due to its central location in the prolific Bakken Shale. The sudden influx of oilfield workers has left many businesses scrambling to keep up with the crowds and make sure they have enough staff on hand and this Applebee's certainly isn't immune to that but it seems to be doing a decent job. I've eaten at this Applebee's twice now and I must say; It's one of the better choices for a sit-down meal in Williston. From what I hear it gets very busy during the normal lunch hours and dinner/ late-night but I usually go for a late lunch between 2-4:00. The waitstaff have always been nothing short of friendly to me and are usually very attentive to my needs. The food is about what I expect from Apleebee's. I usually order a burger and fries. Burgers are cooked med-well and the fries are crisp and hot. Nothing negative to report here but nothing that really stands out either. A solid and predictable meal from a decent restaurant chain.

I travel for work and this is probably the worst applebees I've came across. Food is hit or miss, the service is horrible at any sit down place in this town.

It's a chain restaurant in a city experiencing a glut of out-of-towners. Don't expect to be thoroughly impressed but the menu does offer variety. And in the 4 times I have been here while in town for work, I have only had one waitress who wasn't apathetic. The bar has options, and they have sports. This is probably as good as it gets around here.

Great food, great service, best sautéed bell peppers/onions I've had in awhile. Beers cost 6+ bucks though, so, you know, don't get drunk here.

The staff service is great food took so long to get and it was cold and I had to send my steak back to get it cooked longer ... several other folks I've talked to said this is the same story for them. Long wait...but its Willytown!

Yesterday afternoon, we dined at Applebee's in Williston, North Dakota. I realize that Williston is experiencing an oil boom and that decent employees are difficult to obtain, but our experience was unbelievable. The establishment was busy but not packed, we sat at the bar. The bartender (I didn't catch her name) was very pregnant.... which was fine, but she was also extremely rude. We received no greeting whatsoever and after ten or fifteen minutes, we asked if we could please order drinks. Her reply, "what do you want?". We asked for a bloody Mary and a draft Bud Light. She slowly poured the beer, brought it over and without a word proceeded to make three blenders full of ice cream drinks. When the beer was almost gone, we asked if she had forgotten about the bloody Mary. She didn't answer, but asked if we wanted food as well. We told her that we were ready to order- she asked "what do you want?". We ordered a house salad and a couple of burgers served pink. The burgers were so thin that they were falling apart. Neither of them were pink and mine was served with no more than 18 french fries. We waited at least ten minutes for silverware and napkins. The ketchup nearest us was empty and we weren't offered more. We went to the other side of the bar to grab a bottle of mustard. Our salad was served after the meal and only upon repeated requests. I'm not even sure when she finally brought my bloody Mary, but I was only able to drink one before we left. We tried to make small talk with her... my date had worked at an Applebee's in college and he mentioned as much. She told us she was trying to work her way to the east coast but that her "little guy may slow her down a bit". We gave her several opportunities to redeem herself, to no avail. All in all, we had to ask for everything- utensils, napkins, the bill.... there was never a time that we were greeted, thanked... nothing of the sort. I too was a server in college and it requires incredibly bad service before I will leave a tip under 20%.... and because she was pregnant, I would have begrudgingly given her 20%.... thankfully, I didn't pay. She got a ZERO tip. The total bill was 43$ and looking back, I cannot imagine how the total was so high, but anyway......

I'd like to give this shithole a -5 star rating. Yeah this is Williston and etiquette and politeness aren't on the list for most people working here. Theres a lot of younger wait staff that haven't been trained well, thats for sure. I've been there 4 times in 2011 through out the year. I'm one guy and I sit at the bar to have a beer, some hot wings and fries....not compliceted for a supposedly full service restaurant, right? 3 out of 4 times my wings and fries are dead ass cold sittin in the window for who knows how long. I've worked in 4 restaurants in my days and we all know that you can't have food sitting in the window all damn day. Usually theres some team work and if a bar tender is busy(they usually are) then someone would run the food out to the customer. Apparently there is zero teamwork here. I dispise this place but because of a lack of places to eat in this town I'm sure I'll end up there at least once in 2012.
