2.5 stars.. Here is why! 3 visits within 3 years. 1st time tried the walleye. It lacked in flavor and I said I would probably not come here again. 2nd visit was just appetizers. We has the Grazing platter with Texas Eggrolls, Wings, Onion Rings, Cheese Curds, and Quesadillas. It was ok. Nothing to rave or crave again. 3rd visit was with a group of 6 folks. For apps we had the Texas Egg Rolls and the Artichoke dip. To my surprise the Egg rolls were very good! Artichoke dip was blah. I decided to stick with what they are famous for here which is the Wood Fired Chicken. Yep! Stick to it! It's good stuff... Tender, juicy, and flavorful. I guess 3rd time is a charm as some may say! The location is located inside the mall and its convenient to walk to through the mall if staying at the Sleep Inn. Plus, staying warm not having to brace the frigid temps. Or if you do have to drive parking in the mall parking lot is pretty easy as well!

This place isn't too bad. I've been here once and the chicken is delicious! It was a dark cozy atmosphere so it wasn't too bad. It's located in the mall so it's an easy stop if you're hungry after walking around. The service was good so I wasn't disappointed. Overall I liked it and would go again if I'm craving

Could it be more obvious? Sitting in bar, waited 30 minutes to be served on Dec 26, as we sat read review card from Dec 21 on table! Seriously just scream you don't care! Never again!

The restaurant's menu and atmosphere are decent. What it lacks is properly trained staff in every position. The waitress was overwhelmed, the cook didn't know what they were doing and the shift manager was clueless. It took forever to be served. The food was terrible and the staff treated us like we were an inconvenience. I will not be returning to this place.

Recently visited again, food was great, service was brutal. Long wait time, server had numerous mistakes at many tables, food was dropped on floor several separate times increasing wait time. Watched as one customer tried to resolve a legitimate grievance with server and she laughed in his face, when a manager was brought over to calm the situation it was only made worse by cheap attempts to discount the bill or give out one free dessert. This once much loved restaurant has gone in the wrong direction.

There is good food here. I've had the pasta, ribs and burgers. All of these were great. The thing that drops them is their God awful deserts. Slap a dried out chips a hoy cookie and cover it with the cheapest ice cream you can find doesn't work for desert. Their other deserts are horrid as well. Get the food and eat it. Then walk the mall and get ice cream else where. Boom! (Drops Mike and walks the mall to get ice cream from cold stone)

I was standing in the shopping mall, wondering where the luscious smoky aroma was coming from. I discovered Grizzly's just around the corner near the mall entrance and the rolling chickens on the spit had me hooked. Based on another review, I tried the Blue Cheese topped Sirloin. It was my aerobic workout for the jaws, even though it was cooked properly. The blue cheese topping could have used a few seconds under the salamander grill to crust it up. The sides I ordered included Cheesy Hash Browns, which were quite good, but the late to arrive cup of Chili was all heat and no flavour. Overall, the food is hit or miss, if you are a regular in the area, find your winners and stick with them. If you are travelling through, there is an Olive Garden at the other end of the mall.

Went for lunch. Service was slow had to ask to have my drink refilled, twice. Staff just seemed to stand around. Really weird music selection. Great atmosphere old woods cabin style, which is kind of cool From the prices it's seems like an upscale restaurant but it didn't live up to it.. Sorry can't recommend

I've been meaning to leave a review of this place because it was the worst restaurant visit I've ever had. I went to this place back in November for a friend's birthday. There was about 8 of us. It all started when the waiter forgot my drink. Not a huge deal. A little later everyone gets their appetizers. I don't get mine. I ask and shortly after I get it. Again, not a huge deal. Once our main meals start coming out is when the problems start coming. First of all it took an extremely long time for them to get out and they weren't exceptionally busy by any means. As each person is getting their food, they all start noticing things wrong. Things that were asked to not be added were there (onions, etc). Things that were supposed to be there weren't. Meat wasn't cooked the way it was supposed to be. Here's the worst part. I didn't even get any food. Somewhere between the waiter and cook, my food wasn't even made! I tell the waiter and he apologizes. They eventually get me my steak in a to-go box because I have to go. Well shortly after I decide to try it. It was absolutely disgusting. Tasted burnt, no flavor. Overall out of all 8 of us, none of us had ever had such a horrible experience at a restaurant. One of the waiters even yelled at my friends wife. So inappropriate. I would rate this place 0 stars if I could. And I always steer my friends away from this place.

Wow, subar service and doesn't begin to describe the experience of this restaurant. When you have to request a clean table, silverware, napkins and plates for your luke warm appetizers you almost expect to see a dead bug floating in the coffee you had to ask for 3 times before it finally arrived. Over-prized and under staffed. Having been to other locations with no issues I'm extremely disappointed.

Grizzly's was decent. The service was moderately friendly but pretty quick. The food was priced well and tasted pretty good. I had the bbq pulled pork sandwich. The atmosphere was nice.

It's hard to believe this place is a chain (albeit a small one with only a few locations). I've come to expect only average food from chain styles like this (applebees or tgi fridays come to mind) But unlike other places like applebees all the food at Grizzly's seems to be fresh and not frozen. You can watch the chickens roasting in the open pit fire at the front door. If you try nothing else, try the steaks. But personally I've eaten my way through the entire menu and been satisfied with everything on it. My girlfriend cant get enough of the bear creek pasta and the diablo trio pasta dishes. My personal favorites (aside from the steaks) are the wings and the roasted chicken (these are great to take home). Even the signature salads are good (cant eat steak every day...) There's also different early bird specials and a cheaper lunch menu. Oh and they have some of the best cheesecake I've ever tried, and I don't say that lightly, I've had it all over the country and most of it tastes like paste to me. Skip the toppings (they use store bought syrups) and just order it plain (they make the cheesecake fresh on site). The only time I didnt like it was when I tried it with the chocolate sauce (not sure who's idea it was to ruin an amazing cheesecake with a bad sauce; but the problem is solved by ordering it plain) We've made this a regular stop several times a month now since moving to Minot.

The service started it and the bad food finished them off. Despite the restaurant having only approx 5 other people, it took 20 mins to get our guacamole app. Nobody liked their food. The pastas were bland and the brisket was dried out and poorly cooked. Our waitress never checked on us and only when we were paying was she attentive.

Three stars is a stretch. My first experience here back in the winter was a good one. My date and I had the roasted half-chicken and the grilled salmon, respectively. Both were well done, service was attentive, and overall a positive experience. HOWEVER, that being said, my experience here tonight with my brother was anything but desirable. The food took 45 minutes (with the restaurant less than 1/3 full), the waiter didn't seem to have the time of day for us, and when the food did arrive, my brother got the WRONG meal. You can certainly take your chances here... You might get lucky and you might strike out.

Well...the first time we went everything was SO good. Since then it's been one awful plate after the next. What a shame! Old and brown lettuce in the salads, only getting 5 cheese curds in an order instead of the usual 10, smaller steaks, under cooked baked potatoes and super dry brisket. What a shame!! After 4 or 5 consistently bad meals for $60-70 dollars, we won't be back. I posted some pics of the dry brisket and small, really bad prime rib. Check them out.

February 20, 2012 Monday - lunch 12:15 PM 4 adults Atmosphere - 4 stars Food - 3 stars Service - 3 stars Background - Been here once before about a year and half ago. Atmosphere - The expanded and opened up the place and lost some if its charm. Food Appetizer - None. Main Course - I had and item off the lunch menu which states things grouped; soup & salad, sandwich & soup, and sandwich & salad. I order the pulled pork sandwich and said I did not want the soup or salad. But then see asked what I wanted with it. I looked at like what are you talking about. Then my fiancé had to step in explain things like French fries and etc. The food finally came and the fries were luke warm at best and my pickle spear was tiny and curled like the frown that was put on my face from looking at it. The best part was that there was three slices of deep fried pickles on the sandwich. I only wish there was more. The sandwich itself was pretty good. Dessert - None. Service - Slow service and lucky to keep the waitress attention on us. Clearly she did no want to be here. Not a smile. Eeyore would have had a better attitude. Future - Maybe for drinks but there are better selections in town for food.

It took awhile to get seated (was told 30 minutes to be seated and took over an hour) but there is a good reason for it. The entire menu looked great, and I settled on the Bear Pasta. It was angel hair and chunks of moist rotisserie chicken swirled in alfredo sauce and baked with a layer of mozzarella cheese on top. The pasta, with a tall cold beer, were the best things a gal could hope for after a 12-hour road trip from MN. Get there early, especially if you hope to seat a large group of people! All I can say is that it is worth the wait!

They need to filter the tap water- my hot chocolate tasted like puddle water. Other than that the food is nice.

I had an early Dinner at Grizzly's after a coworker and I had some time to kill while working near Minot. We spent the day at the Dakota Square Mall and decided that Grizzly's looked like the best option since we weren't in the mood for the normal mall food court fare. Upon entering we were promptly seated. All the staff we encountered, including our waiter, were friendly and attentive. I ordered the Carolina Pulled Pork Sandwich with sweet potato fries and a salad. The salad was nothing special but the sandwich was delicious and the fries were perfectly cooked. Grizzly's gave me about the closest thing to good southern BBQ I've been able to find up here. The pulled pork was moist with a good smoke flavor and the sauce had a good balance of sweet and tangy. Grizzly's tops off the pulled pork with coleslaw, a welcome addition to my BBQ sandwich and something I've rarely found anywhere other than BBQ joints down south. My coworker had the Bear Creek Pasta which looked very good. This was by no means a light pasta dish though, so if thats what you're looking for- steer clear of this. The angel hair pasta was mixed with bacon, roasted chicken, sautéed mushrooms, and topped with cheese, all in an Alfredo sauce. Certainly a tasty combination but very heavy! We also shared and order of the Texas Egg Rolls which again were nothing special but tasty enough. The sauce was probably our favorite part. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd certainly make a stop at Grizzly's if I needed a good meal.

My family has eaten here several times. We always enjoy our food and the atmosphere. Food does take a little while for it to get to us but other than that no complaints. The Cheese curds never seem to fail us. Mmmmm!!!

My wife and I went to this restaurant for the first time and LAST time last week. The customer service was terrible it was like they were doing us a favor to serve us or take our order. A couple of the people (hostess) in restaurant area were rude. The food had way too much BBQ sauce on it, and we wanted to let the waitress know but it was 20 min before she came back. It also took additional 20min to get our check !!

I travel a lot for work and my latest stop over was in Minot. I was here for 16 days and out of that 16 days half were spent dining at Grizzly's. The food is excellent! I tried a bit of everything and I have to say by far my favorite was the cheesy hash browns! Yummy!!! Salads are great, the chicken is slow-roasted and very tender. The only thing that was a bit of a downer for me was the service. Soooo slow! So if you are in a hurry then skip this place! Other then that.... great food at Grizzly's!

Descent food. Good atmosphere. You got to love the giant rotisserie with the huge fire cooking the meat when you walk in the door. However, they could make the door wider and get rid of the weird traffic jam at the entrance. Finally, for god sakes don't serve grilled cheese sandwiches for kids with American cheese. American cheese is an abomination to all thing that are made with cheese.

Could use better service, but the food is generally to die for. The pulled pork sandwich is fabulous and my face, the bleu cheese encrusted sirloin along with the cheesy potato casserole is wonderful. Happy environment and great for date night. ;)

Overpriced for a restaurant in a mall, actually in general. Server wasn't bad just swamped. Manager was awful, she spent more time on the patio talking to a guy than trying to get the building caught up after she cut all the staff. We waited an hour for food and she never once stopped by the table to see if we needed anything. Not going back it was not good enough and priced too high considering the disaster we walked into. I'd have a little more pity but it was 6pm.

My husband and I are new to Minot, so we gave Grizzly's a try. Don't waste your time or money eating here. You're better off getting a hungry man dinner at the grocery store, which is actually what I'm pretty sure Grizzly's does and then serves it for quadruple the price. The only reason we gave them two stars is because the Texas eggrolls had the potential to be very good, that is, if they hadn't been burnt to a crisp. We waited at least 10 minutes before my husband let the hostess know that we hadn't been offered drinks, and she took our drink and app orders. Steaks were brought out on the wrong plates and were very chewy and flavorless. Steamed veggies and sweet potatoes tasted microwaved. Bread was good, so go for the bread, and then leave ASAP.

The potato skins with a tall Killians beer are the perfect Saturday afternoon shopping snack. Service is a bit shoddy, but good food and cold beer.
