Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

I didn't eat there, but the service was fantastic. Mostly females tending the bar. A fight broke out and three female bartenders handled it so well. The guys in the restaurant side were sweet and accommodating. Drinks were made well. The live music was great, not too loud. Very country style still for an Irish pub. Great atmosphere and the walls were filled with stories. Warning to single females...it's 1 to 8 females to males in Minot. On a Saturday night if you're a chick and go out, especially here, expect the men to be crazy at the sight of a girl.

I've only been here for dinners and sat on the restaurant side; haven't had a chance to go for the bar side and the live music. The food is good and shines best if you stick with traditional Irish. The bangers and mash or the shepherds pie served with a Guinness is simply fantastic. Even the salmon was decent. The mash potatoes are fresh made, the gravy is well done and paired with the right beer there's a lot to love here. If you drift further away from Irish choices you end up with standard pub food that isn't anything special; but any of the traditional Irish dishes will not disappoint. Service has been hit and miss; but that's Minot. It's hard for a lot of these places to get and keep staff. If you have a craving for an Irish pub; this is the best you will find in Minot or anywhere nearby; actually I'm not sure I've had a better bangers and mash anywhere I've traveled in the last decade.

I've always been a fan of Ebeneezer's for a great drinking & dancing stop but they've really raised the bar with their food and overall customer experience. Megan was our server this afternoon and she did an amazing job. We had a big table and she remembered everybody's orders perfectly and was so pleasant! We pretty much all ordered brunch and the food was great. Looking forward to our next visit!

Phenomenal feels like an understatement in many regards. The environment compliments off its small yet very cozy atmosphere. You feel like you just walked into a family gathering. When I first walked in, my wife and I had to stand for about 5 minutes until a table opened up. Upon leaving I realized I would have happily waited another 30 minutes like a kid in line for his first ride at Disney Land to have that service again. Despite the understaffed appearance, the 3-4 waiters/waitresses on shift were handling things like a group of ass-kicking true-blooded Irish badasses; making the obvious dinner rush seem like a casual stroll through the park. The live music made a vibrant impression yet perfectly faded into the back of your mind as to not overwhelm. The food itself tasted like a spawn from a higher power's personal chef. Perhaps they have Chef Gordon Ramsey helping discreetly behind the scenes? We had a small appetizers of some potato skins, or so we thought. Instead we hastily received four whopping stuffed Irish "Spuds". The cheese and delicious bacon that topped it was almost unnecessary, like putting toppings on an already perfected Pie. The actual potato alone, unlike usual, was mouth watering. My wife had the Shepherd's Pie, and if my food wasn't so addicting and filling I'd of been attempting to sneak my fork past enemy lines. Despite the fact, I was still quite tempted to take a slice of her appealing Guinness Bread. Now my meal, the famous Fat Frog was euphoric to say the least. It was the equivalent of biting into greatness which made you feel as if you were just Knighted and awarded a Medal of Honor at the same time, then went on a riviera Cruise towards the sunset with your dream guy/girl. The chicken strips were bigger than the buns and a perfected balance of crisp and flavor. Alongside the mozzarella sticks and bacon strips, layered with cheeses and topped off with crispy lettuce, the sand which took your taste buds on a blissful roller coaster with nothing but downward bursts of intense and savory flavor after each bite. The food needs warning labels for it may cause severe addiction. All in all, I walked out full on satisfaction, not painfully full. The business parted with a customer pledged to return on a very frequent basis. The waiter cleaned a 20$ tip off his table for extraordinary food, service, and environment. And I now have a guaranteed argument with my wife when we fight desperately over who gets the drool-worthy leftovers. Not to mention a solidified birthday choice location for the two of us. I leave you ironically with one word for my review of this restaurant. Sublime.

My wife and I have eaten here quite a few times and the experience has been the same each time. Great. They are consistently good each and every time and the food is always tasty. Service is consistently good as well, even when they are busy. We will definitely continue to frequent Ebe's when we need a night out.

Great local pub/restaurant - good for young and old - Bangers and Mash very good! Forget the chain eateries! Shop/Eat local!

I only went here once, with my son who is a regular. I have to say, the menu is extensive, and they have some great food. I had the Reuben, and the corned beef was super lean and they grilled it prior to making the sandwich. The portions were very generous. I also had a side salad that was quite nice. My oldest had the meat loaf platter and he was quite pleased, said it was awesome. My other son had the Thai Chicken wrap that he gobbled down in a heartbeat. I guess that says a lot. Nice place, great food, and the next time I go to Minot, this place will be on my hit list. And I would like to add that our server was perfect. Very attentive and pleasant.

In on Friday after a tough week. I love the decor, neighborhood pub mixed with beautiful woodwork. No Riesling ..ordered mussels. Not asked how my meal was... No offer of another glass of wine. Whoever brought me food major crap attitude. I did misread the menu. but alittle smile would have been nice. Mussels mushy and gross . Called friends and met and ate a great meal at the Souris River Brewery! I was an inconvenience, waited to pay bill, my untouched plate didn't seem to be an issue. So many other places to spend my money, won't go back.

For a bar, this place has some great food. They have a typical Irish bar feel with a nice twist in their menu. The burgers are decent and the beer selection isn't bad either.

    (4)
  • Bianca O.

Love this place. Drinks are in the high priced side but the food is fairly priced for portions. Food is traditional Irish-American + standard bar food.

  • Alex A.

Just moved here from the St Louis area and it was comparable to what you'd find there. Had the Reuben and fries. Wasnt the best but not the worst either. Had good flavor, right amount of cheese and kraut but could have had more meat. The bartender was friendly and helpful and the food didnt take long so overall I'm giving it a 4. I'll be back to try the burgers.

    (4)
  • Tom H.

Don't bother going elsewhere! Food is better. Drinks are cheaper. Atmosphere, fantastic. Our server, Steven, was awesome. Beer is served at the correct temp in the proper glass! We'll be coming back for sure, eh.

Since indoor smoking has been banned in public restaurants and bars, all their workers stand outside on the street smoking...2 or 3 at a time. I can't convince myself to go in to eat there just from seeing that. The sight of the scraggly workers isn't appetizing at all.

    (2)
  • April C.

Delicious irish fries to to go with a nice drink from the bar. Always a great atmosphere to drink and hang oit with the buddies.

This place has amazing burgers, for having some of the most unhealthy dishes on the menu they are delicious. Never disappointed!

  • Audra O.

I've been to Ebeneezer's for lunch twice now. I don't recall it from my first visit, but there was a distinct odor when I walked in the door this last time. I could never determine what it was. It just smelled funky and unappetizing. That said, this is the only Irish pub around, and it's tolerable. The fish and chips are good. The Irish stew is good. The shepherd's pie is really just the same stew with two scoops of mashed potatoes on top. The soda bread is okay. Service is good, and the people are friendly. I'll probably be back.

    (3)
  • Garrett H.

Tried the fat frog... It was eh. Went over to the bar for the live music, the bands were cool, but I was severely disappointed by the mix drinks. Ordered a double shot of rum and coke, after a lengthy wait, I received a "mix" drink that tasted like straight coke. Asked the waitress to take it back and add rum, she came back and said the bartender said he knew he added two shots of rum. I finished the drink in maybe 5 mins, I disagree. I'll give this place another shot maybe, but it will probably be a while before I do so. Food is mediocre at best and the so called mix drinks are are a rip off.

As far as Irish pubs go, it's one of the better ones. Service was quick food was ok. I would come here again. Slim pickings as far as food goes here in Minot.

Can't beat this place for the $8, 32 oz. "Big Ass" beers (actual unit of measurement here) and friendly staff. This is also the only place open on Sunday. Being from out of town, I did not realize that every place was closed on Sunday and was very pleased to find Ebeneezer's open! That being said, the food here leaves a little to be desired. The sandwiches are ok, the home made chips are fine, but the stew tastes like it's out of a can and the potatoes are definitely instant. If everyday was Sunday, I would give this place a "5" as it would be the only place open. However, because of the food, I have to give it a "3." I will be back in a couple of days, so if the food improves by then, I will update/upgrade my post.

Cute place with quick, friendly service and live music that isn't so loud you can't hold a conversation. At least on the week night when I was there. The Irish fries and their special sauce are great.

  • Doyle O.

Ate here for lunch the other day and the food was amazing!! I shit you not! I ordered the Ebeneezer burger with Irish fries. The place looked pretty cool with a cool vibe going and great location in the heart of Minot. I assure you I will be back!

Right when your enter this place you feel as if you've left the city. The interior design looks great. There are two separate rooms. The one I was in seems to be very family friendly and had a nice variety of music. They have a menu with a large selection of food. They also have a selection of wine and small dishes to go along with it which I hear is a new addition since the flood. upon entering the second room you'll find the restrooms. For those looking to take a number two..there is no door for the stall! I'm told that thats how it is here. I can't speak for the female restroom...yet. ha ha! The second room is the bar and it looks just as goods as the dining/wine side. it's no smoking inside. Service is friendly.

We placed a to go order at lunch time. Service was quick and food was delicious!!! I had the Corned Beef Ruben and my husband ordered The Fat Frog. They were both fabulous and the Irish fries are amazing! We will definitely order from here again.

  • Matt N.

I love the food (it's awesome), but unfortunately that's where it ends. In the 9 years that I've been going there, I've had good service maybe once. The bathrooms are disgusting, and the dining room isn't really that much better. If you can tolerate it, though, anything dipped (beef and mushroom, french, etc.) is awesome, and so are the Irish Fries.

  • Krys M.

Still troubled by the great music playing outside (The Beatles, The Pogues, etc) which was in stark contrast to the absolute silence of the restaurant. Decent fish and chips, decent and predictable selection of beers on tap. (I really wish people in Minot would stop drinking bud light and start getting interested in all the amazing beers that exist!!) Was very excited about the burgers, since they were proclaimed to be the best... were in fact not all that fabulous -- not awful, but not *WOW* The service is good. I am looking forward to seeing how the bar compares... Again, still troubled by music on the outside/ silence on the inside... weird.

We have eaten here twice in a couple of weeks. The food is great, and the atmosphere is equal to a pub in larger cities. TVs with sports adorn all walls. Staff has been friendly however the kitchen is a little slow...but did warrant deduct of a star. So far my favorite breakfast spot in Minot.

  • Delta Y.

First off there are two areas to this place. The first is the bar, where you can smoke and drink while listening to live music. They have huge mugs of beer you can get too. The drawback is late at night the menu is limited in the bar. Next door is restaurant where families can go. It still has a Irish pub feel in the restaurant. My favorite thing to get here is the Fat Frog, which you can get in the bar or restaurant anytime. I also think their breakfast sandwich is really good too.

Busy fun place for a beer and some food. Even though it was busy in there the staff was friendly and the place was clean. Great pub environment!!Our food was really good and we tried several different appetizers. The beer selection is great! Ebeneezers should have a few signature drinks they offer ;)

This place has amazing burgers, for having some of the most unhealthy dishes on the menu they are delicious. Never disappointed!

We went here for lunch on a Monday. It was pretty busy, but we still got seated right away. I had fish and chips. The tartar sauce was just ok, but the spicy ranch type dip was amazing. Good service and good food.

Awesome typical Irish pub with home cooking, Guinness on tap and late music. Meatloaf and other sandwiches are homemade and scrumptious. Choose from the pub or rustic dining area.

Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak.
