Great service the food was 100% better than a microwaved plate from Paradiso. I had the carne Asada. I asked for extra hot and I got it. Great place nice staff I will return.

Lã Carreta is directly across the street from my hotel Quality Inn and Suites. I almost skipped this place because of self-centered rookie yelpers from previous reviews. Due to the word of mouth from a satisfied guest from my hotel I decided to eat here the following day. I ordered the Rodeo Fajitas it was tasty and it is enough to share for two. I saved mine for two meals. I'm from San Diego which probably has better Mexican food than your city and I would come back to Lã Carreta. Come give them a try. Their low ratings does not justify the quality of their food.

If you're looking for great Mexican food and great service, too, this is the place to be in Jamestown. I walked half a mile to get there and it was worth every step. Great flavor and the waiter was very nice. Skip paradiso, head over here instead!

Holy cow this place is great! The food was amazing and the environment was very authentic. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the server wasn't completely bilingual and hard to understand.

New in the last year. Good to have another choice of Mexican in Jamestown. Went for lunch with my Dad when i was in town. Food was hot and service was good. Food was OK but a ND version of Mexican Food. The space was decorated appropriately and clean.

CANNOT believe that Paradiso gets better marks than this place!! What is up with North Dakotans and their love of Paradiso?!? It's horrible! Anyway, I had to meet a client in Jamestown and decided to give this place a try, since the Mexican food in Bismarck is severely lacking. I had the California burrito and it was fantastic! The chicken had just the right amount of spice, the guac was super spicy (which I love), as was the pico. I've had much worse mexican food in Florida! I will definitely be back to La Carreta on my next Jamestown trip... Or even better, if Jamestown doesn't appreciate you, come to Bismarck! There are plenty of out of state transplants here who are missing good mexican food!!

Attended a lunch here and it was good. The salsa had a nice kick and the chicken tacos were very tasty and well seasoned with peppers. Loads a fresh grated cheese and lettuce were piled on top. Chips were fresh and delicious. The lunch platters are huge and not appropriate unless you want to get stuffed. The beans were super bland and service was kind of slow and clumsy. Our waitress said she was brand new but needs a ton of work. Decor is cheesy and menus are laminated/sticky. This place is super casual and alright if your expectations are not high.

Look, this is Jamestown. It is a small town that cannot usually sustain a 5 or 6 star restaurant. It is, however, probably the best restaurant in town. And it is NOT a ND version of Mexican food. The pollo las cabos is great.

While I try to give every place I go to the benefit of the doubt, I cannot recommend this restaurant as either "authentic" or even "traditional" Mexican cuisine. My girlfriend drove 90 minutes to eat here based on recommendations from others, and while the initial impression was good, it only took a few minutes for our initial enthusiasm to wane. The food was, in a word, bland and tasteless. Definitely not something you want in Mexican food. Our server was attentive at first, but after getting our order wrong, then going back to fix it, she disappeared from the establishment without letting us know she was leaving or getting another server to check in with us. I literally had to go hunt someone down to get the check and pay. In all, a bad experience overall and I am not sure I would ever try their Bismarck location.

This restaurant is not recommended for the discerning palate. The restaurant itself is fairly new and has a large dining area. Plenty of parking out front and has a very large menu spanning several pages. Unfortunately, the service is extremely slow and the food is bland. It almost seemed as though everything that came out came from a can. The taste was highly processed, artificial, and drenched in oil. I question the quality of the ingredients used. Eating at other authentic Mexican restaurants, I would not consider this restaurant truly authentic. We were only able to take down a few bites and had to leave the rest. It was not worth the $20 meal.

Food was great, however service was poor and serving sizes weren't quite as large as other places.

Happened upon their grand opening of this authentic Mexican restaurant. Just passing through this town, but it's in the mini mall behind Applebee's restaurant. Giant menu, takes some time to read. I had some great grilled shrimp, tortillas, refried beans, fried rice, guacamole, etc. for $13.95. Lots of food. Should have tried a margarita. Next time.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
