Love the outside bar and seating areas. Enjoyed the food here and reasonably priced drinks. Pleasant staff and nice atmosphere in and out. Loved all the fire pits outside and look like they do a pretty good show when they have bands there, with a big stage. Good selection of food and drinks.

This place is wonderful! It has a lot of different vibes to cater to different people. Bar, dining, lounging area and an amazing outdoor patio area with couches. Variety of drinks and food and the staff is incredibly nice!

I've never eaten at Shotgun Sally's but I have gone for ladies night. You pay a $5 cover and get free drinks all night. When I walked in, I was impressed. It didn't look like a saloon, but a commendable attempt at a high scale club (for Fargo). I liked the seating. Along with the tables and booths, there was trendy couch-like seating. There was a good-sized dance floor. Soon after my arrival, a burlesque-style hula hoop dancer started performing on the dance floor along with the DJ music which I thought was cool. I saw people dressed up, some even in skirts and dresses. This made me happy because in regards to nightlife, I always feel like there's no places to dress up in Fargo. But it is Fargo, so of course there were still people in sweats LOL. A server came up to our table and took drink orders. This was really nice and unexpected considering that the drinks were free. I was happy I wouldn't have to stand at a bar forever waiting to order a drink. The music was good- I got the urge to dance right away. I had a great time on the dance floor. Shotgun Sally's is the closest thing to a club in Fargo, and I feel like more people should take advantage of it!

Came here for a weekday lunch and ordered the soup, salad, and half sandwich combo. I was happy with the food and price point, but the service was so. incredibly. slow. What I was hoping and expecting to be a 1-hour lunch ended up taking almost 2 hours because our server was really slow to take our order, bring out the food, and then bring us our checks. He also messed up our order a few times, which is more understandable since we came with a larger group. However, considering it was a weekday lunch that wasn't busy, I'm not sure why getting our check took 30 minutes. Maybe he was new?

Fun place for drinks and live music. Probably the best outdoor area of all the bars in Fargo. The signature cocktails are good and they have nightly specials. Perfect for summer nights.

Spoiled west coast resident here. Took a chance and ordered the beer battered shrimp and oh boy am I glad I did! Cooked to perfection and wonderful flavor.worthy of the finest seafood restaurant on either coast. Will most definitely be back and I am not easily impressed but this dish knocked my tastebuds into outer space. Ours was a party of seven and all dishes were very good. Had some issues with our service she was nice but totally messed up on our orders however the manager stepped in and handled the problem promptly and professionally. We will be back!

Menu advertises endless Caesars and Bloody Marry's for 3 dollars. When asked about this was told it was a misprint and the manager refused to honor the mistake. Will never return to this place.

Tonight was my first dinner dining experience here and I was less than impressed. First, there was a very loud, obnoxious guy at the bar talking with employees. It was obvious that he was bothering the patrons and staff let him continue to be overly loud. Second, all of the wait staff stood at the front of the restaurant area at the bar with their backs turned towards the customers, talking and drinking from the soda tap the entire time we were there. There is nothing more frustrating than waiting for your waiter to check on you/order your food/give you your bill and you see him with his back towards you chatting with his coworkers. There were only a few other tables and many waiters, no reason for the wait time!! Despite these issues, the food was still very good. We will be back during lunch hours as that seems to have better service.

Great service.....NOT!!! We sat out on the patio and not one person came over and talked to us. For over 2 hours. Not one single server came to ask if we needed anything. Yes, they were asking every other table, booth, bench & couch out there!!! How ridiculous. Not to mention the guy who came to grab our empty glasses did not say anything to us. Way to go. I will say though, the drinks were good(hence the 2 stars)

A couple of weeks ago, my fiance and I went here for dinner. She had gone to the place prior and had very positive things to say. Please let me say right now, that I never went inside Big D's. I don't know what the previous layout/floorplan of the establishment was. The way that Shotgun Sally's is laid out is pretty nice. Hardwood floors, some counter space with walls of fitted stone; it's very well-done and I applaud whomever was in charge of the design aesthetic. We were seated toward the south side of the place with other diners. There were plenty of seats and patrons, but it didn't feel crowded. Big plus. Our waitress was prompt and attentive and very pleasant. Our drinks were never empty; I had iced tea and my other half had a specialty cocktail from the menu whose name escapes me. To start off, she ordered Cheese Curds - this is, apparently, some midwestern staple that cannot be gone without anyplace one eats. I found them to taste pretty much like all the other places I've had these little nuggets of deep-fried cheese. I ordered the fried pickles. Great texture and flavor. I would definitely order these again. For an entree, I had the Mustang Sally - a pasta dish with some cajun seasoning and shrimp. It was good, but I think that there was a little too much sauce - just my preference. Just the right amount of spice - not too overpowering. Got seven or eight pretty big prawns to go with the penne (which was cooked perfectly). All in all, pretty happy. My other half got the French Dip, which she was happy with. I was full, so I didn't try any of hers. If you're looking for a nice comfortable and quiet place to eat with friends or loved ones, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Really impressed with Shotgun Sally's! First off, the place looks amazing! I love the dark wood walls. The tiered stage with the brick looks great as well! The menu is huge! The manager informed us that there are 25 appetizers alone. There area also sandwiches, wraps, burgers, salads, pasta and a dinner menu. We went for a small lunch. Soup and a shared appetizer. The Chicken Tortilla Soup is the best! Thin strips of homemade tortilla's are added and they manage to keep their crunch throughout. We shared a the Steak Bites which are accompanied with a light cream sauce for dipping. These were good, there are plenty there for two. They could of used a little more seasoning, in my book, but they weren't a tough steak or chewy. My next stop is for cocktails and to try another of the numerous appetizers, I won't know what to get next!

I ordered a glass of wine and the server brought out what appeared to be about half a glass of wine, I tasted it and it was vinegar. Clearly whoever was behind the bar thought they could give me the last few drops leftover from the weekend. I sent it back and ordered two other glasses of good wine. I also ordered food. The kicker-- the server charged me for the skunky wine. He said he was sorry for the bad wine as he handed me the tab, so I was surprised it was on there. Obviously he wasn't sorry enough to write off the leftover crap.

Ate dinner there on a Sunday night around 8:30pm. Ambience felt a bit more like a bar than a restaurant and that's fine. (It's got Saloon in the name after all.) The inside was massive and empty and seemed a little weird to be the only ones eating in there. We sat on the patio outside instead. After first being seated right next to a large group of loud but friendly bar patrons in an otherwise moderately empty patio, we asked if we could move a couple of tables down to give them their space and us ours. (Why wouldn't the hostess seat us that way anyway? Kind of irritating to be jammed up against a big group like that when there are plenty of tables around.) Patio seating for dinner was a large table, with two massive benches much like a picnic table. By the end of the dinner my back missed having some back support. I wish they had some normal table and chairs on the patio which would have been more enjoyable for a dinner outside. Waitress was friendly and gave us great service and food came out not too fast and not to slow. We had the revolver appetizer platter which was decent. Cheese curds, wings, chicken tenders, fried pickles and chicken wings. 3 stars by yelp standards. We each had a burger with either fries or onion rings. I had the American classic. I asked for lettuce and tomato and onions (Isn't that a classic?) They offered that for .50 extra - really? Why up charge for that on a $10 hamburger? The lettuce was the size of a very thin business card which irked me a bit as well. 2 1/2 stars for taste - nothing noteworthy. All in all, everything was as Yelp would put it A-OK. 3 Stars. Not really deserving of the rather glowing reviews on Yelp but certainly satisfactory and enjoyable enough.

The queso Mac and cheese is good along with the smothered fries that's similar to Poutine without the cheese curds.

Great band, great venue, crappy service. Been sitting here for 40 minutes and not one server has stopped. Had to go to the bar to get my own drinks. Then I waited 50 mins to get a menu and lo and behold the kitchen closes at precisely 10:50! What an odd time. Don't know if I'll be coming back.

We were promptly greeted at the door (once we found it on the back side of the building) and seated. The service was timely and attentive. All three of us enjoyed our food other than the spaghetti soup. As for the atmosphere: The outside seating is a big bonus and the general indoor room was clean and festive.

The patio is very nice and open. Too bad it was raining the day we went there. Very loud inside on a busy night. Mostly a college aged, singles crowd. The drinks were very weak for the price. Waited what seemed like forever for the wait staff to attend to our large group table. Didn't like that they had a cover charge after 8 pm. The dueling pianos were a nice performance.

I avoided going here for awhile because Big D's wasn't my favorite, but was very surprised they transformed this place into something completely different. This review is solely based on a late Tuesday night dinner, and I expect weekend nights to be quite a bit more lively. Seating is a bit interesting- some random tables, soft seating, and the bar, with a big open dance floor. They have one randomly placed pool table, which seems a bit odd as the look seems to be trying to cater to the late night crowd. The food menu is huge. They are new, so wait staff should expect a few questions on items named untraditional things, but our waitress seemed annoyed at questions, such as what a 'sidewinder' was. Jalapenos & bacon items also seem to overtake the menu- not necessarily a negative. The food was delicious! I was in the mood for many different things, so I didn't mind that my burger was loaded with lots of extras, although the burger itself was a bit bland. Prices are reasonable, as well. We witnessed a staff at the bar digging into a giant container of green olives repeatedly with his bare hand to refill the little plastic olive container, then wipe his hand on his backside, ignoring the white towel hanging out of his other pocket. It was only funny because we chose wine, not martinis for the evening.

My husband and I decided to try this place out for apps and a couple drinks before going out this weekend. We were both very happy with the food and service. Our appetizers took a little long to get to us, but the waiter really made up for it by making sure we knew he was checking on it and coming over and talking to us. They have a pretty good draft beer selection, much better than most bar/grill places in the area. The atmosphere was great, we sat at the rail overlooking the stage and dancing area. Our food was good, just apps but you could tell everything was home made fresh and not frozen. The prices are good for what you get for sure. Even better is that you can go for drinks and music at night, but can also go in for lunch and bring the kids.

We arrived about 8pm on a Friday night and it was fairly busy. Our waiter Garrett did a fine job. We ordered the Glazed Shrimp, but we received no sauce with our order. And the Walleye Fingers states on the menu that they are lightly fried. They are not. It was a hard and heavy breading. The serving was a nice size, however it was served with a very small container of tartar sauce. When I asked for a little more, they charged for the extra. The atmosphere is nice for this type of venue. But don't expect to continue any kind of conversation after the band starts. It doesn't seem to matter where you sit in the bar or how close you are sitting next to someone, it's very difficult to hear each other.

My wife and I had just gotten into town and thought we'd check this place out to see how the renovation looked. First of all, I was pretty impressed with the new look. It has a very open layout and a laid back atmosphere. They have a decent selection of tap beers, but no tap list. They do have a drink menu for their signature cocktails, though. I ordered an "El Guapo" burger and it did not disappoint. Juicy patty, soft bun, nicely cooked jalapeño bacon and "spicy" queso. I wouldn't say the burger was spicy, but it had a touch of a kick to it. The waffle fries were under-seasoned, but not terrible. My wife ordered a pasta dish which she liked as well. I tried a bite and was glad I went with a burger. The dish had a nice flavor but the pasta was overcooked and mushy. Overall, I'm a fan. I'd like to go back when they have a band because we got tired of waiting for the music to start.

We were surprised at how good the food was, but our waiter needed some attention to detail because he just ignored any special order (no lettuce) and forgot to bring my wife's drink. We spent $82 plus tip for dinner for four and two beers. The decor is classier than I expected, but the whole place is one big room. They could stand to break it up into a dining area and a bar area, for sure. I won't avoid Shotgun Sally's, but I won't be clamoring to go back either.
