Good bagels. The breakfast sandwich had what seemed to be reheated eggs & meat. Ham & cheese bagel contained a tomato & onions accompanying it were crouton like bagel chips. The lady waiting on us could've been from a Seinfeld episode. She reminded me of the soup guy. You better know what you want or get glared at through reading glasses. Clean restrooms & fish tank--that's always a good sign.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE boppa's bagels. The whipped cream cheese is the best!

Great fresh bagels. Best that I've found so far in Fargo. They are really helpful and pretty quick. Only downside that I can see is they could probably use twice as much space for production because they are so popular. Really that's not an issue. Love eating local too.

I visited Fargo for spring break since many of my friends live there (still) and I went to Boppa's Bagels for breakfast one morning. The bagels were delicious! But I would never go back. I'm not sure if their cream cheese was bad or not but my friend and I both got extremely sick after having their bagels. I flew out that afternoon and when I landed in Boston, I had a massive stomach ache flowed by something else I shouldn't write about on yelp. The next morning, my friend described to me the same thing had happen to her. Long story short... It is a no go for the future. Yummy bagels but not worth the 2 day stomach illness.

When I moved here I was worried because I love my lox and bagel and couldn't find any true bagel places. This place has a great selection and everything is always fresh. It sometimes takes a while to get what you order if you get something more than just a bagel with no toppings, etc. but the wait isn't too long, just not the quickest in peak times. They are pretty busy. Good prices, and yummy!

Great bagels and lots of wonderful flavours! I do wish the lady would be a bit nicer though and smile! It was our first time and she didn't really have patience for us

Boppa's is a locally owned, mom-and-pop style bagel bakery and deli. There restaurant is a small, family-style joint with limited seating, a serve-yourself bagel counter, and a behind counter food service. They are open in the morning till the afternoon, serving a limited selection of breakfast sandwiches, cold lunch sandwiches, and warm lunch sandwiches. They also round out their menu with some oddball options such as a bagel pizza, burgers served in bagel bread, paninis, soups, wraps, coffee, and limited miscellaneous sides. Generally speaking, it's a no frills kind of place, especially when you try and visit during a time when they are especially busy. Their main focus is producing high quality bagels with an exhaustive list of style choices, and I find their bagels to be of top quality. Contrary to other reviews on here, you simply cannot find even remotely comparable bagels anywhere else in Fargo. In fact, Boppa's bagels are served all over town from coffee shops, groceries, etc. That speaks volumes about how locals generally think of Boppa's. I think the fresh bagels are certainly delicious, and I've really enjoyed the quality of the more common bagel types that you can buy in their main store and all over town: everything's, onion, jalapeno, and cheddar. They also have some options that are unique in my experience, and I really like their pumpernickel bagels. For me the bagels from Boppa's are worth 5 stars on their own. However, I haven't been terribly impressed with the sandwiches/deli style options that they serve in their main restaurant. I think the twists of using bagel dough for pizza or putting burgers on bagel buns are cute, but I haven't been overwhelmed by the actual products. Most of the time I head to Boppa's for a dozen bagels and end up getting a breakfast sandwich or deli sandwich just while I'm there. It's not bad, but it's also not over-the-top great. In terms of service, it's not a sit-down style restaurant. The employees work the counter, and they have seating if you'd like to dine in, but you're not going to have waiter/waitress service or anything. Summary: Truth be told, the bagels are super good. Even when you find decent bagels elsewhere in Fargo, there's a good chance you just didn't know they were Boppa's. Love that it's a local business, supporting and supported by other local businesses. Pro Tips: They have coupons on their website for a small discount in store ( boppasbagels.com/COUPONS… ). They also have a loyalty program that's good for some discounts, and free stuff ( boppasbagels.com/ROYALTY… ). As you enter the main store, they often have bagels from the day before for half price. I'd go with the fresh bagels if you're eating in because they are best on day 1, but those yesterday bagels are great for freezing if you're taking a dozen home for breakfast!

I had a peanut butter bagel with mixed berry cream cheese and a french toast bagel with pumpkin pie cream cheese. I couldn't say how they compare to New York and it's probably not fair to. What I can say is what I had was really good and I will definitely go back.

I went to a bagle place with the same idea as Boppas Bagles in Omaha NE. It didnt even compare to the quality that Boppas Bagles offers. Truly delicious! And they have great cream cheeses!!

I'm trying to persuade my boyfriend to fedex me a supply of boppa's pizza bagels while I write this. Make sure you try the pizza bagel with bacon, tomato and mozz. You will thank me later.

Read some pretty rough reviews but shoved ahead in spite of it. Was glad I did. Coming from downtown the drive was a bit much for s bagel. Just go to many of the coffee shops in the area, most carry Boppas Bagels. The shop is nestled in the back corner of a strip mall. Once inside the bagel trays are well stocked with fresh items, waiting to be plucked off sack by sack. Step up to middle of the counter and place your order or bring up your sacks to pay. Made to order meals are prepared by the staff and bought out to you. How this works when it gets busy is unknown. Customer service was just fine. The older owner is clearly a spitfire with her focus on keeping things moving and running a business. I could see how if someone walked up to the counter fumbling around in a purse or flip-flopping with decisions could end up on their backside out in the parking lot. Just know what you want and you will have nice meal. No good bagel place is alike. They all come with there quirks. Finding one that matches your own is the trick. Being that Fargo only offers one may be the real issue. I was curious to see if there would be any issues with delivery. Bagels arrived right on time and with a smile. All wrapped up with each type bagged separately. All fresh, made shortly before. Not day old stuff which concerned me just a bit. I do believe the staff may have missed an opportunity to up-sell me on the cream cheese. I requested 1-8oz plain and 3-5oz sizes. In hindsight 3-8oz and 2-5oz may have been better for two dozen bagels. Bumping up to four stars for a crew I can count on.

We have long been fans of Boppa's soft, fresh bagels and shmear. On this trip we decided to eat in. The sandwiches were wonderful. I had a fresh and tasty veggie sandwich with a variety of crunch vegetables and a delicious guac. It came in a basket with a pickle spear, a variety of bagel chips, and a small cookie. The bagel chips were disappointing so I left them behind but walked out satisfied. (The chips appeared to be slices of dried out and seasoned leftover bagels. Not what you want when you order a bagel sandwich. A piece of fresh fruit would be preferable.)

Oh yummy bagel. We were in F-M for a show and went looking on Yelp for a good breakfast place. Boppa's very clearly makes its own bagels every day, and they are delicious. When we walked in, we were pretty overwhelmed by the selection and giant menu board. But the ladies behind the counter were super patient. Then they added to the confusion by pointing out that there were even MORE freshly cooked bagels sitting in racks behind the counter for us to choose from. Oh, the humanity! At any rate, I settled on my standard: sausage, egg and cheese bagel. I get what Eric was saying about the egg hockey puck. Agree that it's clearly an egg patty thing they nuke in the microwave. But you know - sometimes that's exactly what you want, and my sandwich was delicious. Hubby got a garlic bagel absolutely covered in garlic crystals on the top with chive cream cheese. Super tasty but maybe not the best for a first date if you are hoping for a goodnight kiss. Price-wise, it was more than $10 for my bagel sandwich, his bagel and shcmear and a soda -- so not awesome. But about what we'd spend at McDonald's for a far superior breakfast.

Dear Boppa's, That's it! I've officially had enough of your terrible customer service and I'm telling all of my friends and anyone who will listen. A good bagel is not worth being treated poorly. And your bagels are very good. I will miss them. After a terrible customer experience there in 2011 (when I wrote a negative review on Trip Advisor), I swore off Boppa's. After the three-year boycott, on 12/30/14, I gave Boppa's another try because I had a "free bagel" coupon that expired the next day. I grabbed a cinnamon raisin bagel and handed my coupon to Sherrie (the owner). She told me that the coupon was for a plain bagel. I had missed the fine print on the coupon, which was my error, for sure. I apologized for the error and offered to pay the price difference. But guess what...she tells me that there is no price difference. (OK, what?) She gives me that indignant half-smile and says, "we are out of plain bagels AND we are closed tomorrow." At this point, of course, she knows my coupon is no good. She has chosen to engage me in a battle about the fine print of this coupon and she will not budge. She quickly states "now I have to throw that bagel away because you touched it." (Note, this is within 1 hour of closing time and they will be closed for two days for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. What business owner does this?) She continues to push me. "So are you going to buy it or not?" To be honest, I was so dumbfounded by this whole thing that I just reached in my wallet, handed her the exact change, and walked out feeling terrible. Worst experience!!! This reinforced my feelings now, more than ever, why you do not deserve my business. I never should have purchased that bagel after you talked to me like that. Sherrie, you are horribly unkind (and this is not the first time you have treated me this way) and should not work at the front register. I've talked to dozens of people about this experience (it has made for a great "can you believe this" story) and I've looked at your reviews online. Your bagels and sandwiches get great reviews. However, for every "yummy bagel" review, I have seen bad service reviews. I quote (from Yelp and Trip Advisor). [My review from 2011 on Trip Advisor where I regretfully gave them a 4 out of 5 star review] * "This is the only place I know of to get great bagels in FM area. Everyone I have talked agrees with me on that and one other thing: that the customer service there is down right crabby. If you have ever seen the "soup Nazi" episode on Seinfeld, you can imagine what I mean. I'm always afraid I'll order incorrectly and be given the "no bagels for you" response or be banished all together. But there is nowhere else to go with great bagels and great service with a smile. So send your coworker to get them for you so you can enjoy the bagels with no ordering drama. :) " * "Food - it's ok. Not bad. Atmosphere - nothing special but fine. Service - WOW! Terrible! In fact, after my bad experience, I was chatting with a few friends who jumped in to tell me about their bad experience . . . before I even told my story. So, the cash register lady is getting famous. In a bad way. I walked in, stood around, not knowing it was help yourself. Ok, thanks no one for telling me. But ok. Saw a sign (high above register on far wall) which said buy 6 get one free. Great. Picked out 7. Went to the register and was told that cheese bagels were extra. Ok, I don't want the one cheese then. I'll trade it. And how should I know that? The register lady points to the complex tiny print menu 8 feet up the wall, behind the counter. Nope, still don't see it. Oh, between the two rambling menu boards there is a 8x11 piece of white paper with grey dot-matrix ink from 1980-whatever saying that cheese bagels are extra. Really? Should I read a gigantic small print menu looking for an exception? Ugh. I paid the 50 cents extra, don't get a free one (rip off!), paid full price for the 7th bagel I didn't want, all while grumpy cashier lady was staring at my debit card. (Memorizing my name? Just spaced out?) Anyway, you got my big $2 extra but lost my business. And from talking with others, this is not uncommon." -Leezer1015 * "I can get better bagels at the grocery store without having to interact with the always-grumpy staff at Boppa's or sitting at a dirty table." -H. J. of Fargo, ND * "Great bagels and lots of wonderful flavours! I do wish the lady would be a bit nicer though and smile! It was our first time and she didn't really have patience for us" -Noor G. of Dexter, MN * "The place has lost its charm. The employees don't seem happy, the order taker is grumpy, the sandwiches not good. The Double Olive cream cheese is the only saving grace to Boppa's Bagels anymore." * "Bagels are good, but the management is bad. Have seen the particularly grouchy woman behind the counter."

I can get better bagels at the grocery store without having to interact with the always-grumpy staff at Boppa's or sitting at a dirty table. Really the only thing this place has going for it is that it's pretty much the only bagel joint around. Fargo should rejoice the day that Einstein's or Brueggers' or Noah's makes it up this way and folks can get a somewhat decent bagel instead of the bad-texture, sloppily made (stray raisins in a cheese bagel? no thanks), rudely-served food that this place sells. Edited to respond to business comment: There are absolutely no personal attacks above -- I neither know nor care at all about the personal lives of anyone at Boppa's. It does matter to me as a customer that the folks behind the counter behave as though the resent having to interact with me to make a simple transaction. But I do not care one whit about anything beyond what is relevant to potential fellow customers. I could have gone on in my review about the incredibly slow line, the unclear signage, etc. But I absolutely stand by my assessment of the staff's demeanors, the cleanliness of the eating areas, and the quality of the food. Boppa's are the worst bagels I've ever eaten from a bagel specialty shop. The place has no charm, no friendly service, and no convenience to make up for that fact. This is my opinion as a consumer of bagels. If there is any sincerity in your remarks about "getting to the bottom of it": I was there for a late lunch some day between Christmas and New Years, and my order was taken by a late-teens early-20s female employee. That's about all the detail I can recall (since, again, this is not a "personal" matter). However, given your snarky suggestion about mass produced bagels and your quickness to cry "wolf" (or rather, "personal attack") I suspect that your response was an attempt to save face rather than an honest interest in providing a good customer experience. And that, sir, IS a personal judgment.

Prior to visiting Fargo on business, I scoped this place out on Yelp. I thought, "a bagel place? 5 stars? I gotta check it out!" I walked in & thought the place was so cute! Loved the colors & the dark ceiling- well done & accessorized with bagel goods! I love little places like this that do the chalk board art for their menu- well done. It smelled delicious & you can tell right away that this is the place the locals crave! I was overwhelmed with options, but decided on the breakfast bagel with egg, cheese & bacon on an asiago bagel. I ordered it with jack cheese, but they used swiss (not a fan)- but it didn't even bother me. Once I took a bite, that sandwich wasn't leaving my hands just for the cheese! That bagel was the most delicious bagel I have ever had. I could only eat half of it & I have been dreaming about the other half I left behind- really! My biggest regret is that I didn't order some to take back to NE Ohio with me!

Don't bother with the breakfast sandwiches; the egg pucks are obviously just frozen things that have mostly reheated, about on-par with something from Jimmy Dean. Not good. But the bagels are FANTASTIC. I've never even cared for bagels, and they knocked my socks off, that's how good they are! I cannot recommend the "everything" bagel highly enough, it's simply delicious. I also love the jalapeno bagel, but I wish they wouldn't bother putting the weird and bland salsa in it. I wind up eating around the soggy and unappetizing core. (Although, to be fair, I haven't found good salsa in Fargo yet.) If they improved the quality of filling in their breakfast bagel, and excised the dollop of Pace in the jalapeno bagel, this would be a five-star joint in any city.

Even though I'm supposed to be kicking the carbs for the wedding, I seem to keep gravitating towards buns and bagels lately. So if you're gonna blow your healthy living, do it at Boppa's. Now I'm being a bit cheeky here, because even this great little shop offers some pretty healthy choices, but when you come face to face with a scrumptious french toast bagel, its hard to resist. Now sure, these aren't on par with some of the traditional Jewish bagels I've had in larger cities, but when there isn't much of a Jewish population in an area, there just isn't a demand for them. However, these are not market or bag style bagels. There is a lot of love that goes into making these delightful little 'rolls with holes' and I'm simply glad to have a shop that offers something more than "Lenders" or "Einstein's" bagels in the F/M area.

After spending 12 years in Fargo and moving away 4+ years ago I still think Boppa's when I think of REAL bagels. A local favorite that everyone will enjoy.

o i know that 5 stars for a bagel place shouldn't be the same as 5 stars for a steak house, but I don't have any other option, but to rate Bobba's with 5 stars because this IS as good as it gets in Fargo. It really is great. The bagels are chewy like they should be and Boppa's has at least a dozen different cream cheeses for toppings. I also love their breakfast bagels, especially the lox. The Reuben sandwich for lunch is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in Fargo and I've been visiting Fargo every year now for 14 years for a least a week so that is a lot of meals!

In Fargo for the day and thought I'd find a bagel place since we don't have one in my city. The reviews here are accurate! Awesome variety of bagels. I had a basic egg and cheese on garlic bagel. Thats some serious garlic! Not a complaint, just a note that it has a small seating area so not conducive to hanging out and working on a laptop.

This place has great bagels and sandwiches. There Cinnamon rolls are to die for. No other place better in Fargo. There are many bagel choices and they are so soft. They have homemade cream cheese to go with those bagels!
