I was SO excited for this place and it disappointed. First off, food takes a VERY long time to come out. An hour or so. Also service is pretty much nonexistent and extremely slow. The ribs were super dry and hard and crispy. Three of us got it and we all agreed. However we asked for more of the blueberry bbq sauce and that was amazing! It came out warm and had chunks of real blueberry. That bbq sauce is to die for! If only the meat was tender and fall off the bone delicious.... The sides, the vidalia corn casserole was amazing but how could it not be. Butter fat amazingness. The crust was so good though. Addicting! The cheddar biscuit. So hard and dry. So sad. Tried friend's Boston butt which was good for the tender parts. Some parts were super dry though. The sauce was good though. Overall, probably won't go back. Once was enough. Food took way too long to come out and same w getting water getting our checks, etc and the food isn't good enough to wait over an hour for. Also, meat just wasn't tender. Sad sad sad.

Stopped here a few years ago! Noteworthy! This time!!!! Not so much! Stopped for a quick appetizer......well, over an hour later with no one checking on us since we ordered, finally got an explanation....someone stole our appetizers, so they had to remake...then the waitress made the statement that she wasn't coming over to check on us because she was embarrassed to approach us! Seriously???? Camouflage poor service with worse service!!!! Had to go to the bar for a drink-well, with that said!! First time was a charm, second a bust, won't be a third!!!!!

Not a fan. The service was really slow. I ordered chicken alfredo and it came doused in red pepper. If you read any of my other reviews, you will notice I can't do spicy food. I haven't been back.

The Butt Sliders are to die for. Any item in the menu with pork is thing to get. Also don't forget the Sweet Vidalia Onion Cobbler.

Man, I really wanted to score better but overall the food was mediocre. However, the "butt skins" we're AMAZING!...definitely worth coming in for a beer and an appetizer. Very friendly and awesome bartender. Big TVs...worth another shot to try another dish.

We drove six or eight miles out of our way to eat a Candy-Sue's Downtown in Lumberton on our way to the beach. They had just opened for lunch on a Thursday in late August when we arrived. A mop bucket and broom greeted us when we entered. The floor was those small ceramic tiles that you used to see in old drug stores built in the very early 20th century. Maybe it had been mopped earlier in the day. Or maybe the cleaning supplies were left nearby in case Thursday's eaters were messy ones. We passed the cafeteria serving area on the way to the restrooms. At first glance we thought we were back in elementary school with the stainless steel steam table, just like we remembered. Only at Candy-Sue's they were smaller. Even the servers looked like our "lunch ladies" from school. It was kind of quaint! After washing up, we returned to the serving area, grabbed a tray and proceeded to look over the selection, which was really similar to our long past school cafeteria selections. The fried chicken and Boston butt looked the most promising. We both chose the Boston butt. We each chose two vegetables, bread, and a drink. Our total, which we paid at the end of the serving line, was a little over $21.00 - somewhat more than we expected. We carried our trays to a table next to the large windows at the front. More people arrived: some in business attire, some in work uniforms, some getting take-outs. Eventually the mop bucket, etc. disappeared. As we ate we speculated on the original use of the building. One of the "lunch ladies" told us she thought it was a livery stable once. The glass covered tables displayed bank checks from the 1920's and 1930's, a nice touch for the historic building. We probably won't eat at Candy-Sue's again, but I'm glad we did once.

Very nice place and the food was just as good as the reviews. The people were very nice. Small mix up on our order and the cook bought out the correct food apologized and talked to us about our food and the Lumberton area. I recommend this place for anyone. The butt, sweet vadalia cobbler was great!
