Get the blueberry pancakes!!! With that aside, I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. We came early in the morning and were greeted and shown to a table. We got seated at a table with an amazing view of the river. We even got to see some duck and a herd of elk on the other side of the river. The restaurant is made mostly of small smooths and I only saw a few tables that could accomodate 6 or more so if you are with a larger group, you will probably have to wait. We got waters and some got coffee. The water tasted like if it came from the kitchen sink. Two got the blueberry pancakes with the blueberry syrup and it was amazing!! Three fluffy pancakes filled with plump blueberries then drizzles with the sweet blueberry syrup, those pancakes were devoured. I wanted the backpacker's pancakes but unfortunately they were out of it. I decided on the pecan pancakes and was satisfying although I wish the pancakes were toasted a bit more so it could be crunchier. However, drizzled with some of the blueberry syrup it made for an amazing breakfast. One ordered the french toast which she enjoyed although we agreed that it could have been cooked a little more so it would be a bit crisper. Regarding the service, it was not too busy at 8am Friday but the waitress did come back several times to check on us and refill our water. I wish I could rate this place a 3.5, but since the blueberry pancakes were so good, I'll round it up.

Ask for a table on the creek. Staff very friendly but know nothing of the area so don't ask lol. I had steak and eggs which was pretty good. Husband had ham egg and cheese omelette but he said the ham wasn't good at all. The hashbrowns were some of the best I've ever had yum yum!

Just finished a wonderful home style breakfast of light fluffy pancakes, eggs and a thick cut piece of fried bologna I haven't had bologna like this since my grandpa purchased slices like this from the butcher and brought it home to fry up and eat before going out at the crack of dawn to fish Lovely childhood memories Recommend Peter's for a great breakfast before hiking in the great smokey mountains

Visited Cherokee in May, for the first time in ten years. We apparently arrived two weeks before tourist season. The first morning we were in town, we drove down to Peters for breakfast. Nice small-town diner atmosphere, the townies could tell we weren't from around there, but were welcoming nonetheless. I got two eggs scrambled, a pair of sausage patties and some pancakes. The pancakes we're good, the sausage was average and the eggs were eggs. Best thing about the place? That diner coffee. My wife was not satisfied at all. Now here's a disclaimer though, we hail from Western Kentucky where we have become accustomed to the mom and pop breakfast diners here. The two don't compare. The size of the sausage patty at Peters was about the same as if you picked up a box of frozen patties at Walmart and threw em on the flat top. A few days later, we got 4 sausage and biscuit sandwiches to go. It cost $9.00. I was BLOWN away at the cost for what I got. The next day I drove down to Burger King, got four sausage and biscuits that were twice the size for $4.25 If you're a first timer to Cherokee, check it out. Not too many breakfast places in Cherokee.

Just in town for a meeting and needed to grab breakfast. Very nice staff and the food is solid breakfast food. Nothing crazy or out of the ordinary, the menu is very simple. Pancakes seem to be in every but they are really good. Update - this is the only place to eat breakfast in town right now so you have no choice hahah.

Just a step above your classic Waffle or Huddle House. The food is good, the service is fast and the prices are reasonable. I wouldn't make the trip back there just for the food, but wouldn't turn it down if we were in the area. We had corned beef hash, and the pancakes - they don't allow menu substitutions which is a problem when you don't eat meat, so I was charged for each item ala cart.

I'm so glad the clerk at the hotel recommended us to eat here. Definitely a local favorite. Everything is fresh and cooked quickly. They do close at 2 so make sure to make it here before then! Very impressed. This will be our Cherokee breakfast spot when we are in town.

This is an old fashioned, small city, family diner. Take a breath, relax, be polite and the food will come. Our family had heard about the place and it was decided that we would get up early and have a "Family Breakfast". (I've had four hours of sleep & was in a bit of a fog and just said "yes.") The place was packed for a Friday morning the wait wasn't bad 10-15 minutes, we waited outside by the water and struck up conversations, people were friendly here. The waitress (ours) was running her butt off, I felt bad for her and was trying to help her out when I could and for some reason she thought I was to get the bill hmm. I took care of it but she should of asked. Steak and eggs were average & needed seasoning. I asked about the sausage and gravy the waitress said it had chunks of sausage in it, Good let me have it ! Only minced pieces were to be found sometimes. The biscuits were good ! Pancakes were fluffy and came with plenty of butter, baskets of jelly's & jams were on the table in a basket. Over easy eggs cooked nicely. Corned beef hash looked good was told it was as well just not my thing. Fried potatoes yum. Brother In law liked his egg casserole (Mexican style w/ Chorizo, jalapenos and potatoes. Total bill for 6 was $54.00 not bad, the portions are large enough to keep you going for more than a minute. Average plate is only about $6.00 and the quality is much better than any Waffle house you might find.

This place had potential to earn a better review. The restaurant itself was cute and felt homey, however there was a couple issues. The hostess sat us and was friendly enough, then a buss boy came up who we thought was our server, we said hello but he ignored us. Hostess came back because server had still not come and got our drinks. When she did come she did not say hello but asked for our order. Coffee was blistering hot and sausage was room temp. Not good!

Four of us were in and out in 30 mins. Fast service, friendly staff, and very clean. Sausage patties are turkey but still pretty good and blueberry pancakes were good. My brother got the French toast and it was very good. Nice spot beside the building to the left overlooks the creek. Good place for a quick meal or to relax after a long drive.

Very average, best of a bad bunch. If this was the best in town, keep driving. Service was poor, and cashier was just rude.

I love this place! Good ol' fashioned small town diner. Great food, great service, and amazing location. (just moments away from Smoky Mountain National park). If you're in Cherokee, you should definitely give this place a try. Pancakes were great. Felt like home to me!

I mean, there's not much else in this small town, so this was our best bet. We came to gamble and stayed at a hotel right down the street. Beautiful quaint town, but as far as food goes, there aren't many options. This was one of the "better" breakfast spots in town. Walking in, we seemed like we disrupted the staff. Maybe it was because they were cleaning & getting ready to close and we came in about 45 min before. Anyways, the waitress was alright. We ordered the pecan pancakes, some eggs, toast and diced potatoes. The pecan pancakes were nominated as the best thing there but to us they were okay, kind of dry if you ask me. The best part of the experience was the view. Get your seat towards the back windows. If you're looking for a quick, simple place to eat, go here. That's all!

We came by on a Friday for breakfast. Okay... it was noon... but we had recently woken up so I call that breakfast. The place was packed so we sat at the bar right behind the line cooks. Service was fast and efficient. Everyone was very polite. At one point the line cook even asked how everything was. That was a nice touch, considering he was working his butt off. Everything was pretty standard diner food... which is to say delicious. Portions were very generous (I felt I was given too many scrambled eggs, although that did not deter me from eating them all). You better come hungry to this place. The funniest thing about this place was there was apparently a secret menu. They were making sandwiches (which are not on the menu). We overheard someone ask about it and an employee said they do sell them you just have to know to ask for them. What? Everybody loves a secret. This is a great place to stop for breakfast (or lunch apparently) in Cherokee.

On our last day in Cherokee, we stopped at Peter's Pancakes & Waffles for breakfast. It was a little late in the morning (around 9:30 or so) and it was not crowded at the time. Nevertheless, although the drinks were served promptly, the order was very slow in coming. We did not order the pancakes nor the waffles but rather eggs and bacon with biscuits and grits. Most of the tables were empty and we could not imagine what held up the order. However, when it finally arrived, the grits were hot and buttery, the eggs were cooked to order, the bacon was crisp and tasty. The biscuits were a little thick and doughy but filling. The coffee was hot and fresh, served in their name-brand mugs. Would probably try another breakfast option next time. The ambiance was that of a country kitchen with a nice view from the back of the trees and nature. There were three people in our group.

The man who owns this restaurant frequently does the seating and remembers me when I come in only about twice per year, or at least he pretends like he does, and it makes me happy. You may have to wait, but be patient, read a brochure or sit outside and people watch. I always order the pecan pancakes and have never been disappointed. They are fluffy and loaded with pecans. One order is enough to split between two or three people. I prefer my bacon crisp and my eggs scrambled hard and they always prepare them perfectly. This is one of the only breakfast spots in Cherokee that I have tried and I like it, even though it is rough around the edges. I like the character. Oh, and the people watching is great, no offense to the locals.

On their sign outside of the restaurant it said "best breakfast in town", yes, perhaps, but the worst service around. I had the backpacker pancakes and they were filled with multigrains and nuts. Very tasty and you get 3 large pancakes in an order. The atmosphere was comforting as you can sit by the window looking down on a stream. The service left something to be desired, though. Our waitress brought my coffee and pancakes but never returned to see if I needed more coffee or if my order was right. She even went to the table next to us to give them more coffee but avoided our table. She eventually came back after I was finished with my food and I had been sitting there for 10 minutes waiting for our check. She then offered me coffee at that point. Sorry, a little too late. Then we requested our check. That took an additional 10-15 minutes for her to get that to us. Keep in mind we went on a Wednesday morning and they weren't busy at all. Good food, poor service.

When we visited Bryson city this weekend, this restaurant was recommended by the locals so we decided to try it. Best decision we made because their food was amazing. I got the hitchhiker's pancakes with bacon and I was not disappointed. Make you get there early because they did get busy when we were leaving. I will definitely be coming back here if I am ever in the area again.
