The best Chinese food outside of China... Or at least a very authentic Chinese cuisine restaurant. Owned and operated by a husband & wife team; he being the master chef and she a great hostess and waitress. I've been here a number of times and have yet to experience anything close to poor or even mediocre quality of service. Fresh and made to order - I believe this establishment is MSG free. The crab wontons are to die for! Things that could make it better: - I'm digging deep here and finding nothing...

I'll definitely give the Iron Horse five stars. It was recommended by Bert and Roger at the Broken Spur Motel. My wife and I ate at the Iron Horse once for dinner and once for lunch. I also took some of my relatives there for for milk shakes. Each time the waitresses (one time the owner) were friendly and attentive, and the food was great. A lot of locals like the Iron Horse, so it must be consistently good. It's a bit more expensive than a typical cafe, I think each of our main plates ran in the $12-$19 range. But it's worth it if. Closed on Mondays.
Great food and service ! Loved the French fries !! The tuna melt with pepper jack cheese was wonderful and Don said his French dip was outstanding and Ayla thought the twist was very good which had turkey, Brie, Granny Smith apple and Raspberry preserves !!
We were traveling through the area, looking for a family friendly place to have dinner, and the Iron Horse Cafe fit the bill perfectly. Great food and friendly service.

Highly overrated and not worth the hype! All I heard while visiting in this area was about the great ribs and steaks at Willow Creek Cafe. Mine were dry, oven-baked and not smoked, and then lathered in mustard-based BBQ sauce. I've eaten ribs all over the U.S. and rate these "2" (10 pt scale). My meal was served with SYSCO-type dinner rolls (not with salad, but only once you got your dinner) and onion rings. Two 12 oz ribeye steaks (medium) with plenty of visible marbling were dry and tough. No garlic on the garlic fries--their specialty. The ONLY redeeming menu item at this place was the Huckleberry vinaigrette salad dressing and the warm bread pudding, served with cream. Although we had a reservation, we still waited a long time for our meal, at least 20 min after finishing our salad. While waiting, I overheard our waitress asking the cook (manager?) about adjusting something on one of her other customer's order. He repeatedly said, "no, no, no, my way or the highway." Also, YOU MUST HAVE A RESERVATION! They even have a sign on the door. On Saturday night, only 5-6 tables occupied at peak hours 5-6:30 pm. A 4-5 person, friendly waitstaff. Recommend you eat elsewhere, Three Forks or Manhattan. Not worth the time or gas to drive.
I have been here before, and the food was great. I have called the restaurant several times, during their stated hours open, and received a voice message, that reservations are needed and to call back... Impossible to reach for reservations. I suggest they have a dedicated person answering their phone. So, show up with no reservations and take your chances? Keep calling, hoping they will answer the phone? I hope they will read this review and start answering the phone.
I don't ever yelp, but thought I had to for this amazing little gem in the absolute middle of no where!. As a rib place, I expected the ribs to be good. However they weren't just good they were amazing!! My wife ordered seafood, and I was a bit unsure as to how the seafood would be since we are in fact in the middle of no where in Montana. However it was just as delicious as the ribs! The ambiance was fantastic along with the service! I've been to 40 countries and am quite a foodie and this little restaurant made my top 20 restaurants base on best overall experience. I highly recommend.

Awesome, friendly staff. Your coffee cup will not run empty. Foods decent, with good portion sizes for those big hunting/fishing/hiking days!
Good food. Nice service. Since we were only passing through, I don't know how it compares to other restaurants in the area. If you're passing through, it's a solid choice.
Made from scratch food. Down to earth. Great specials!
