What a pleasant surprise! Because of the abundance of taco/burrito joints in Missoula, I just never have managed to try Taco Sano. I always assumed it was the same as Taco Del Sol or Qdoba. I was wrong and I apologize. If you haven't been here - definitely come check it out. It is locally owned and most of their ingredients are made from local produce. I would consider this to be a healthier version of Qdoba and the prices are great. If you haven't been here yet - don't make the same mistake I did by waiting 18 months.

Best breakfast burritos or even regular burritos... Great price, great service. I have never had a bad burrito here. It is my favorite burrito place!!! Plus you can even B.Y.O.B.

Absolutely loved this place. The food was great and the employees were very helpful. If you want a burrito or taco with lots of options then this is the place for you.

Great food. Terrible service. Delivery advertised at 30 minutes. The 3 times I've ordered it took a minimum of one hour, and up to 90 minutes. When I called to check my order status they always said " We got slammed" or "We're short staffed". This sounds like it's a habitual problem. Also, twice when I called the phone just kept ringing with no answer. Another time I got an answering machine. During business hours? I was going to ask for a refund but it isn't worth it. I'll just give another establishment my business.

The food is always delicious, but it seems like every time I make an order for delivery, something is either forgotten or incorrect. It often takes an hour and a half for a delivery, and when you call to check in on the whereabouts of your food, they always respond "the driver should be there soon." It's a real bummer because I love their burritos, but waiting so long for a lukewarm meal is never fun.

When driving a long stretch of I-90 from Yellowstone to Seattle, how far are you willing to drive for tasty, affordable, local food instead of convenience store mush or unhealthy, boring, Interstate fast food? About 2 miles? Well, that's exactly what we did, on the good recommendation of fellow Yelpers, to trek away from the superhighway and into downtown Missoula. And we were not sorry we did. On the promise of great burritos, tacos, and breakfast all day, we ventured forth, dodging downtown, and curiously looking around corners to find Taco Sano. (It's not really on the street its address is listed on, but if you walk south down the alley off of 4th, you'll find it.) Once we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised -- a healthy, tasty, vegetarian friendly menu with tons of fun combinations, tasty sauces, and great sides. It's Chipotle-style, but much better. Pacific salmon on your Mexica? Can do. Chipotle sour cream, you bet. Jalapeno Ranch? Mmm-hmm. Cusabi? Well, you just have to try it for yourself. The staff was super friendly, and, recognizing we were from out of town, engaged in a nice conversation about Missoula. A worthy diversion from our trip, and awesome burritos and tacos. Thanks Taco Sano for your out-of-the-ordinary road food. And thanks Yelpers for helping us find it!

Taco Sano's salmon burrito filled me up but didn't overwhelm me with flavor. The prices were slightly higher than I expected. The salmon burrito cost $8.75 with an extra fifty cents for sautéed vegetables. So the whole shebang cost me $10.25 with a dollar tip. The only reason I spent the extra two bones on the salmon was because I was bothered by the question "would a burrito with salmon even be good?" Normally, the fish burritos I've eaten were served with a white fish such as cod. The verdict: it's good; but not worth paying ten dollars. Also, the burrito was smaller than what I would expect for a nine dollar burrito- it seemed small. Of course I'm comparing the size to the other missoula gold burrito standards of TDS and El D. They do offer a good selection of toppings here: onions, green peppers, etc. It doesn't stick out as my first choice for burritos in the Zoo. My girlfriend ordered nachos and they turned out stale and lackadaisical and did not justify the right dollar price tag.

This is a cool spot. Very hipsteresque - tough to find and when you walk in, you feel like you should know the secret handshake. Bottom line: think Chipotle. The ingredients are good and the server builds your meal at your request. The food, like I said, is good. I was just hoping for authentic Mexican: I mean, from the outside and the name, it was what we expected. The service was ok and the food was not authentic or very creative. Cool enough place though! Don't get me wrong - I'd eat there again, maybe.....

I've been using yelp for about two years and this is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review. I've been waiting for a delivery order from taco sano for over an hour an a half and still no sign of the delivery driver. I tried calling multiple times and it went to a prerecorded message. Once I finally got through they had no idea why I hadn't gotten my food yet. Been ordering from here for years, but this is not acceptable. After two hours I cancelled my order. Never again.

These are the best tacos I ever had. Countless combinations of unique toppings and sauces.

I like this place. I'd rate it above El Diablo, and under Taco Del Sol. Here's the positives: great ingredients, lots of good options, a big variety of meats and veggie options, nice size, they know what is in their stuff (I have a dairy allergy, and they were able to tell me that they don't use butter in their rice). Here's the negatives: some of the meats just don't go with mexican flavors- like BBQ pork. I love BBQ pork, but on a burrito it was kinda weird. My other criticism is that they don't have anything like the "medium sauce" at Taco Del Sol. Seriously, like the rug in Big Lebowski, it pulls the whole room together. That said, they do a tasty burrito. Not bland like El Diablo, and higher quality than TDS. With a few tweaks, it could beat out all the rest. A special bonus commentary- my brother-in-law and his girlfriend are going vegan right now for health reasons. They LOVE this place. They don't live here, and when we go visit them, they ask us to bring them burritos from Taco Sano! So, if you are vegan- this just might be the place for you!

This is the best burrito in missoula for sure! I always get either the chicken burrito or the breakfast burrito w/ chorizo. they make breakfast burritos all damn day, need i say more. Lots of seating nice atmosphere. Byob. Everybody is really nice and chill who works here. I work next door And go here far too much, just afraid of getting sick of it someday but hasn't happened yet. update-I just started getting their salads which are great for someone who is doing a paleo or low carb diet!

Of all the taco/burrito places Missoula has to offer, Taco Sano is clearly the best. They have a HUGE variety! This includes MANY offerings other places do not offer, such as: salmon, tots, sauces, salads, chi orzo, and breakfast burritos ALL day. The staff is always friendly, and the food always tasty! If you haven't been to Taco Sano, then do so! Also, if you like beer, there is a brewery attached, and you're allowed to bring in a fresh brew.

I found Taco Sano by accident on my last trip to Missoula, what a happy accident!! It was a hot day, and we weren't sure what we were in the mood for. I happened to see their sign, and w decided to give them a try. The entrance is a little unusual, makes you feel a little like you're entering the wrong door or something. Food was excellent. As my burrito preparer started listed vegetable options I just said "yes", meaning I wanted them all - he laughed and obliged me. Next time I go back I might try one of their sauces, but the chicken was so flavorful I didn't feel I needed any. Taco Sano is poised to become a tradition during my twice yearly visits to Missoula.

My old boss actually owns this place--Chris is the shit, totally rad, and a hardworking local business owner. This place has awesome atmosphere, they even deliver, all the employees seem super happy. And they have tots. Woo! But the food just doesn't wow me.

I just had a special meetup for a social media club in the upstairs area and had a wonderful time! It definitely helps to have the owner of this fine establishment, Nancy, as a member in our club! I had a pulled pork burrito that I enjoyed a lot. The chips and salsa were also quite good to go along with my meal. The atmosphere is great. A great conversation can be had here without having to shout which is a big plus for me. I dare you to try the Glacial Melt hot sauce. They don't mess around when they say it is 500x hotter than tabasco!!

A local version of Chipolte with many more sauce options. Pricing is the same as Chipolte, portions are a bit smaller but not much. Great food, classics college student vibe. Not in a hurry to return but would have no qualms doing so.

Great burritos and the makin' rent special ($2.50) is a good bean and rice dish that is delicious. Good all around taco/burrito shop.

Solid cheap and good Mexican option. You get a lot of choices for your shell, filling and toppings. Everything was pretty good and made right in front of you assembly line style. Good lunch place.

Oh my goodness. Taco Sano will knock your socks off. I'm obsessed with their quesadillas - they are the best! Seriously. This is a great restaurant - great staff, great food, great atmosphere, great everything. Their delivery was so quick for my friends and I, and our food was still hot; we were really impressed! I think my favorite part of Taco Sano is the bargain - it is one restaurant I can afford on my small college budget. Even though this place is hidden, give it a shot. You will soon be obsessed with their quesadillas and live at Taco Sano like me :)

I think that I just died and went to heaven when I had their quesadilla. Fresh ingredients and lots of cheese. lol. They also have great salads, burritos, tacos. Their sauces are creative and unique in their own way. Would recommend to anyone looking for something different for lunch. Haven't tried breakfast there yet but hear great things about the breakfast burritos.

Love this place. Have tried everything except the breakfast burrito. Nothing has disappointed. My wife and I look for reasons to go downtown, so we can have lunch here.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
