Great atmosphere, friendly service, Sasha is a very excellent ambassador for the brewery. Nice range and selection of brews. Lemon Haze is reminiscent of Leinenkugel Summer Shandy but more complex. Pizzas were nice sized and well made. Clean throughout.

Came by to try out their beers via sampler, which came out to be eight beers. Styles cover a decent range including golden ales, scotch ale, IPA, red ale, stout, etc. Being a mostly IPA fan myself, I didn't particularly care for any of the beers and thought the Dry Fly IPA was a bit lacking. The only brew I really liked was a seasonal beer, the Meditation Ale, which is an interesting mix of Japanese-American pale ale, clocking in at 8% abv. For bites, options only include $15 specialty pizzas and salads at the moment. I enjoyed the "365" pizza with its' interesting toppings of garlic sauce paired with dried cranberries, chicken, broccoli, and bacon. Crust was a bit thin but that's expected from the wood fired pizza oven. Service at the bar was okay, a bit slow on a non busy Saturday afternoon. As a venue, there's plenty of seating, tables and bar stools. Think I even witnessed a 5 year old's birthday party at the brewery... strange. Montana liquor laws only let brewpubs open till 8pm, since its supposed to be a tasting place, not a full blown bar. Kind of absurd imo.

This pub has a fun ambiance, good selection of beers, and very good food. I was expecting "pub grub" quality, but the salad was gigantic (one was split by the 4 of us) as well as fresh, and the pizzas (varied & interesting selections) were delicious. Orders were placed at the food counter (and delivered to your table when ready) and then a separate line for ordering beers - was a little confusing to those of us who are not locals - I don't know if this is a Montana thing - but one-stop-shopping would be nice. However, I will definitely return and highly recommend this brewery.

Of the many brewerys I've been to in Montana, this is one of my favorites. First time here and I will come again! The service is outstanding and the beers are spot on. Not to mention the pizza pairs well with every beer. Pricing is fare and the staff are awesome. Anytime you're in Hamilton this should be one of the top places to visit. The seasonal meditation ale is delicious, but flash flood and hurruh are my favorite.

Just found my new favorite brewery in the bitterroot. Great selection and an amazing IPAs. Liked the Dry Fly IPA so much we ordered up a growler of it to go! Grabbed lunch on the go and really enjoyed the house salad (great selection of dressings), soup and bread. Can't wait to go back again with friends and family to try the pizza.

As always...I get the sampler. Initially I like the Summerfoot Pale Ale, however, the Dry Fly turned out to be a pretty decent IPA. The stout was a stout, and the scotch ale was acceptable. The Crystal Ale was lacking.... Borderland Sour tough to swallow. The two best beers were the Ironic Cucumber Lime and the Base Camp Irish Red. Taking the later home in a growler.Overall the beers were unique in flavor, something I really like. Food was pretty good. Loved loved loved the bacon an capers in the Chicken Ceaser salad. Great combo of flavor. Portion was large and thank goodness, not too much homemade and tasty dressing on it!

Let's be honest, the decor is terrible in this place. It looks like a bowling alley most of the time. Fortunately they serve fantastic beer and really high quality pizza so the decor doesn't matter too much. Great service doesn't hurt either.

Had a delicious spinach salad, bowl of lentil soup and a nice Scottish Ale for dinner. The service was fast and friendly. Nothing special about the decor, yet it is quite big with a lot of room for families and large groups. Nice to see some local art displayed on the walls.

This place is amazing. The staff is very friendly and the service is fantastic. They have the pizza best crust in Hamilton maybe the Bitterroot. It is a great family friendly place. The beer selection is excellent even though by favorite beer just went out of season.

The pizza was decent, one of the better options in Hamilton. Solid crust. Be prepared for a lot of noise.

Don't drink beer, but yummy gluten free pizza! Whoever is gluten intolerant in Hamilton, MT. Bless you.

Kickin' pizza, loved the crust. Chewy base with a touch of crispy (good) blackening and a tender topside. Great toppings, super fresh. Beer was very good. Favorite of the night was a summer brew with lemongrass and ginger. Lovely. Spectacular service. Super friendly and we even got a hike recommendation that we followed and loved. Aww yeah.

This place is not all it's cracked up to be. There is one decent beer (Irish Red), the rest are pretty bad. The Stout is just not a good beer, the Scotch Ale has a weird waxy after taste. The service is consistently bad every time I've been there. The pizza is mediocre at best. If you want good local beers, Bitterroot Brewing and Blacksmith are not bad. Wildwood in Stevensville is by far the best in the area. Unless they've changed something since I've been there this place is not worth trying.

Pretty darn good pizza and considering the options in Hamilton, this place or Jax is as good as you're going to get. I might give the nod to Jax on the pizza but if you want a beer too, this would be the pick. Beer was excellent, service was excellent as well. Live slide guitar was very unique. Low key decor (which is perfect for this place) but noise level was the only downside. Did I mention the beer was really good?

Good pizza and salad for a fair price. Will return. Peach pie pizza was good.

Good thing the guy in the purple shirt was working tonight in the kitchen cause the other two were completely useless and it took forever to get our food, but this place is still one of the best in Hamilton the beer and the food

Awesome beer and pizza. No, seriously, this was some of the best vegetarian pizza I've ever had. The cooks were really nice too.

i have to say I love Higherground Brewing Co!!! Amazing Microbrews, my favorite it the milk stout but I haven't had a beer that I didn't like!! I would have to say they have an artisan food menu. Hand crafted pizzas, the BEST in town, amazing salads with fantastic original flavored dressings. I eat there on a weekly basis and the best praise I can give them is that everything is CONSISTANTLY delicious! Which is unusual in the Bitterroot Valley!! Awesome, super friendly service too!!

Higher ground just opened in mid-December 2011 and seems like it is on the right track to a good business. Why? Their pizza is good and the beer is even better. Their stout was great so I took a growler of it home. The decor is pretty low key - tables look like palettes and there are a few lacquered trees scattered about. There's a long bar and an area with couches too. The signage from the street is hard to see, especially at night, so be on the lookout for it. I like their logo and wanted to buy a t-shirt but they were already sold out after just a few days! Next time...

Pizza & salads are excellent. A simple menu - creative and nicely priced. One of our favorite dinner places. We love small breweries and Jasper and Fenn local, young, energetic guys with a great business. My husband loves their beer over the other brewery in town and I love their own brewed root beer.

Definitely the best pizza in town, wood fired makes all the difference! Beer is really good. Casual decor, super friendly staff. Defintely recommend.

I only gave them 4 stars because they were short handed tonight. Otherwise, their beer was fabulous - I had the stout - always drink the darkest beers and this one was best ever! We had their 365 pizza (chicken, alfredo type sauce, spinach, dried cranberries + ) and an entree sized Caesar salad and both were delicious. Other salads I saw looked divine! I loved the simple elegance of their decor. Staff was very friendly and hard at work! The long bar and large dining room were warm and comfy. Highly recommended!

I've been in Hamilton for week, and by far the best food and drinks we've found is at Higherground Brewing. My wife and I are from Southern California, so we're used to first-rate wood fired pizza and craft brewed beers, but I have to say that Higherground is better than anything I've had at home. Both the beers and the pizzas are excellent! This is the best we've had in Hamilton. If you're in town, don't miss it,
