If I could give this place 6 stars, I would! My husband and I planned on tent camping in Yellowstone for a week until our trip was interrupted by a wet and heavy snow storm, rain and hail. We were about to pack up and go home after just two nights when we found the Gardiner Guest House. Nancy welcomed us with open arms, hot tea and cookies upon arrival. The historic home is clean, well appointed, very cozy and reasonably priced (cheap compared to most other cities). We enjoyed getting to know the other guests & spent hours at the breakfast table talking with Nancy, Richard & the other guests. The food is INCREDIBLE (pumpkin pancakes, apple sausage, eggs, sweet breads, granola, yogurt etc) and coffee, tea and treats are available around the clock. The first night we shared a bathroom and were moved into a different room the second night that had its own bathroom. It was no problem to share the bathroom -it's spacious and set-up to accommodate separate areas for different guests' toiletries. The shared bathroom has a magnificent claw foot soaking tub. Water was hot & pressure was high... perfect for the cold days! You can't get much closer to the north entrance of Yellowstone, either, as it's just a stone's throw away from the arch. We've decided any future trips to Yellowstone are not complete without a stay at the Gardiner Guest House!

While moving from Seattle to Washington, DC we took a detour down to Yellowstone and found the Gardiner Guest House via yelp when we were just a few hours away. Nancy was super accommodating and had a comfortable bed waiting for us when we rolled in past 9pm. We stayed two nights in order to have a day at Yellowstone, and this location was absolutely perfect. We received lots of great tips, and even borrowed an audio tour CD to take with us as we drove down to Old Faithful. While we were gone Nancy went above and beyond by watching over our cat, who was especially pleased with the guest house after a few days in the car. Breakfast was superb, the rooms were cozy, and the personal interaction was a great bonus. I completely recommend for travelers that want a comfortable base for Yellowstone that feels like home.

First, let me apologize to Nancy and Richard for a tardy review! Second-- this place deserves about 500 more rave reviews. My boyfriend and I were on a cross country drive and found ourselves a few hours outside of the northern entrance of Yellowstone with nowhere to stay. I called Richard and Nancy (via a Yelp review I found) and they pleasantly confirmed availability despite the fact that we would be getting in relatively late (10 pm). Nancy welcomed us with open arms (literally) and showed us around the guest house, which was by far more comfortable than any space we'd stayed in during our journey. Not a detail was missed-- lotions, hand towels, cozy blankets, heavenly beds, movies, and the breakfast-- oh, the breakfast. Every morning, they prepare a spread for their guests. Their food is only matched by their great company and conversation at the table! They were wonderfully accommodating and provided us with great tips for our day in the park. By the end of breakfast, we had decided to stay another day. The Gardiner Guest House, as mentioned, is literally at the mouth of the northern gate to Yellowstone. We woke up, took a walk, and stood at the feet of the mountains in the morning. Very refreshing! The town itself is quaint and friendly, with more dining options during the season. i would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone planning to make a trip to the area. What a gem!

We stopped by Nancy and Richard´s guest house after a few days in the park. We were warmly welcomed, our room was lovely and cosy (we had the suite with a private bathroom), the bed was so comfy. Woke up at the sound of birds... Nancy´s breakfast and Richard´s knowledge about the park were simply awesome! Thank you both for these nice moments. We felt like home and would love to go back. Highly ++++ recommended!

Stayed here for 2 nights. Absolutely wonderful place to stay. The room was cozy and the bed was real comfy. The shared bathroom is fully stocked with shampoo/body wash/lotions, etc.. The breakfast is a real treat with many options (cereals, porridge, home style potatoes, juice, milk, coffee/tea). After long days in the park, you can relax in the living room and have tea or hot chocolate and snack on cookies or cake or whatever Nancy has baked. The living room is stocked with many dvds, books and board games. This is a great base for Yellowstone as it is just minutes to the park and about 15 minutes to mammoth hot springs. Richard is a well known fly fisherman and has his shop next to the house. Nancy is a great hostess and will make you feel like you are visiting your favorite aunts house. We will return when we come back to YNP. As I write this review YNP is closed due to the govt shutdown.

I stayed here for a couple of nights (upstairs) in February of 2012, and I could not have been happier with my experience at the Gardiner Guest House. To say that Nancy and Richard are warm, welcoming and wonderful is an understatement; they were incredible hosts full of advice & recommendations about the area, and full of great conversation. Nancy fed us delicious and copious breakfasts around a communal table in the mornings.... The rooms were cozy, clean and homey - full of character and comfortable. The Guest House is a mere 2-3 minute drive to the Yellowstone NP entrance gate, giving it unique access to the park especially during the winter, when the only road open to visitors is from Gardiner. I'm not sure what else I could have hoped for from this experience!

We stayed only one night and wished we had more time. The beds were clean, the bath was shared, and Nancy was great. We enjoyed playing cards in the main room and when we left for the park very early the next morning they packed us a breakfast of a hard boiled egg, bannana bread, fruit, yougurt, hard cheese, granola and juice. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and could not have been more pleased! We had a wonderful time. The B&B owners are incredibly knowledgable and helpful on everything from the park, to the town, to surrounding activities. The rooms were lovely, sheets and towels were soft, and the breakfasts were delicious! The one caveat I would mention is that there is no AC, so if you're going to stay in the middle of the summer during a freak heat wave, be prepared. That being said, the lack of AC still wasn't much of a problem since it gets quite cool at night, and we weren't spending much time in the room during the day. My husband and I both loved staying here, and will most certainly be back!

You'll not find more hospitality in the entire state of Montana - and that's saying something as there are some mighty hospitable folks in the Treasure State. Nancy treated me like a daughter when I made a reservation there for my dad and she had only a one bedroom room left. She actually let me stay in the back bedroom used by her family when they stay there. I watched "Aladdin" that night and literally felt like a little kid again. And when I forgot my sweater there - she actually dropped it off at my apartment in Bozeman the next time she had to go there for groceries. You could not find a better location for a B&B outside of Yellowstone. You can actually walk to the park entrance. Nancy and her husband are a wealth of information on the area. If you need to stay in a B&B when visting YNP, it's in your best interest to stay here.

We stopped by Nancy and Richard's quaint guest house during our trip across America. Their home and the hospitality they showed towards us made this place by far our favorite stop. The breakfast was to die for and their company made us feel like we were at the family table. The house is ideally located near Boiling Springs which we enjoyed after a day of hiking and bison gazing in Yellowstone's amazing wilderness. The prices are really competitive and when you factor in all the kindness and brekkie, this place is a must.

Awesome breakfasts, though wish we had skipped some and headed out early when things are the best in the park. But the food was just too good to miss - especially with a long day of hiking ahead. We stayed in the cabin which was plenty of space for our family of 2 adults and 1 baby. The kitchen could use some modernization, but it had everything we needed and at a really decent price. This is a great place to stay especially if you are up here early in the season or late.
