We were in Butte for Evel Knievel Days and went to so many places to eat with 4 & 5 stars. Well, we had the best time here having wine & orderves. Our server, Kristina, was absolutely fabulous. The calamari was delicious and she chose a pizza for us that was sooooo good! Had fun people watching at the bar across the street from our table! Kristina gave us some hometown reviews of how they actually thought of Evel Knievel! So stop here and ask if she's working. She's fun and worth the stop!

Can't complain about the service because there isn't any, I walked....all the way to Fred's Mesquite Grill and I'm glad I did.

Terrible service. Average food. What they call fish and chips is nothing like it. I mean waffle fries?

Stopped through on drive through Montana while on vacation. Cool renovation of bank. Service good. Good selection of microbrews. The food we got -- salads -- was very average. Not great quality ingredients. Burgers might have been a better choice.

Food was horrid. Everything seemed to come out of a box in the back. Salad lettuce was wilted. The strawberries were clearly out of a frozen bag. Moreover, the soup was tasteless and most likely bought in, rather than being made in-house. The overall quality of the food and service reminded us of being in an airport-adjacent Denny's at 3 am on Christmas Eve.

Steak Sandwich great! The onion soup and tomato soup also great. Sat at the bar and Lyle was top notch and very professional.

Ordered what was said to be slow cooked or smoked ribs paid 27 bucks and got oven baked and microwaved ribs! On the next visit i ordered jambalaya and got penne pasta covered with marinara sauce including two boiled shrimp and one sausage link sliced sideways! The staff is awesome and the tvs for sports make this place an awesome place to catch sports. So if your looking for a cool atmosphere to enjoy and evening sit in the vault and order fried chicken fingers which is the only thing ill be eating there from now on. Please do not waste your money on what someone thinks is great food.

Stopped in for lunch - and a beer; sat at the bar. They have 20 beers on tap, including local brews. I had the Pig's Ass Porter, a very smooth, tasty porter which is more like an oatmeal stout than a porter. Greg the bartender, allowed me to taste several beers, took my order, and regaled me with several stories. He's a great guy, very personable, and service-oriented. My lunch was their potato-bacon soup. Wonderful large chunks of potato, with lots of bacon, topped with cheese and a little more bacon. Very yummy and well spiced. The atmosphere is a typical Sports Bar, with jerseys, helmets, etc. but just average, and not that many TV screens.

Didn't actually get to eat since we waited 15 minutes at our table to order drinks....walked out before even ordering because we were completely being ignored by the waitstaff! The hostess could have gotten our drinks but just stood there looking at her fingernails. Lack of teamwork and leadership....disappointed. I understand that the waiter may be busy, but TELL US THAT and have your hostess taking drink orders while people wait! We were ready to order food after looking at the menu for almost 15 minutes and still had not had our drink order even taken.

Old bank turned restaurant is a great concept in the historical part of uptown Butte. I have only eaten lunch here a few times. First couple were pretty awesome, and the last one was really only so-so. I'd recommend anyone give it a chance at least once. The history behind the building itself is worth checking out while dining.

Butte, Montana: the Metals Sports Bar & Grill located in the Historic Metals Bank Building in uptown Butte. A modern sports bar & grill featuring 31 Big Screen TV's and the historic Copper King Vault. "The food is good and reasonably priced in this old bank building which was erected to house the wealth of the copper kings. The sports bar attracts a cheerful young crowd." - Jun 17, 2010

Go in - check out the cool historic interior - WALK OUT! Service was a non-existent and waited 15 min and still no sign of our server even after asking the hostess (who was doing her nails) where our server was. The place wasn't even busy. Left to "thanks for coming in"...trust me, it was our pleasure to leave.

I don't frequent sports bars much but I thought it was a really neat building (check out the old safe) and the bartenders were quick and helpful at describing the beers and giving you a taster sample (which is great for a non-beer person such as myself) Sports themed (duh) and has plenty of tables in addition to the bar.

In keeping with our annual tradition to visit Butte for 4th of July, we always come to Metals Bar and Grill. Why? Because you could eat in a historical bank! Duh! We always get the Mozzarella Sticks... sometimes two rounds if we're feeling extra puckish. The food is pretty good. Boyfriend and I split a Chicken Mandarin Salad (sans the Mushrooms), the mozza sticks and a quesadilla. The BF was introduced to something called Huckleberry beer. He loved it so much we brought a couple of cases back with us. I had the Mango Margareta and it was very yummy! The place is full of history between the bank and sports. You can also ask to eat in the bank vault!

Just came back from dinner here and was very happy with everything. The restaurant is inside and old bank building which makes the ambiance pretty darn cool. The menu has your classic bar fare. I had the 'Best Ever' Fettuccine Alfredo and it was not the best ever, but it sure was yummy. I also had a couple of tasty drinks and some cheesecake. The best part of course was our server who was super friendly and helpful.

A fun place with great nostalgia. Uptown Butte in an old bank! You can eat inside the bank vault! Get the "Black and Blue Division" burger! Or the Jack Daniels Sirloin. Craft beer selection A+. Great people there to take care of you. Lost track on how many times we've been there.

Good food, interesting environment. I had fish and chips and it was good. Sports bar vibe but it's in an old bank so the atmosphere is a little more interesting.

I have been to Metals a few times. The best part about it is that it is in an old bank. Super cool! However, each time I have been there (hoping my eating experience before was a mere fluke) I have been disappointed in the food. The quesadilla is disgusting. I have ordered it twice (once again hoping that it was just an off day for the cook) and both times it looked like plastic and tasted about as good. The chips and salsa are also mediocre. There was also a waitress there off-duty that was in her pajamas and walking around in slippers. Yuck! On the upswing, the beer was good and the company good.

Stopped for lunch, mostly because it was in the old Metals Bank. Super cool building, if you are into that stuff. The Bank Vault is still there, and you can even take your lunch/dinner there if you like. Cooper trim around the inside AND outside of the large picture windows. They had a great lunch menu, casual, friendly staff, lots of beer on tap, not sure about full bar.

Metals Sports Bar & Grill is located in the old Metals Bank in downtown Butte. They did a great job in retaining the character of the building by keeping the vault and safes, and what appears to be the original carpeting. The food was really good for a sports bar. The ribs were tender, sauce had enough flavor without being too overpowering. The fries were outstanding, a waffle cut with a nice dipping sauce, cooked just until they were crisp without overdoing them.

Metal's is housed in a restored bank adorned with an open vault that reminds you of the area's history in gold. Tasty burgers, decent beer and prompt staff. Very clean and comfortable with a view of downtown. A plethora of TVs for sport enthusiasts. I would definitely eat there the next time I pass through Butte.

It is encouraging to see historic old Butte's downtown slowly come back to life. Though i'm a little sad this place didn't survive as a bank, they did a rather good job preserving the feel of the original building. The crowd was great the night we were there - mostly young, i'm guessing mostly from the local college, very polite. Our server was a bit snippy, but ok. Food was ok - the veg were not terribly fresh, but the cooked foods were good. Very good for a sports bar. I hope the other business owners in the district take note - you can build a sucessful business in the historic district!

Metals has a great sports bar atmosphere, and I love the remodeling job they have done. That said, I wish the food was a little better. Everything on the menu comes off the FSA truck, so the quality of the food is similar to Denny's, Perkins or any chain restaurant. They do make an effort to create unique menu items, but the quality is still mediocre. Food prices are fair and the portions are good. We've had a few really bad waitresses, but for the most part, the staff is very good and seems to be improving. They have a lot of beers on tap and a nice bar area. There are plenty of TVs for watching sports, and they'll gladly set the channel to your favorite game.
