The white sauce is just salty paste. The tiramisu is obviously made offsite, shipped frozen, and defrosted. There are so many better options in town if you want Italian.

This place, sadly, has gone down hill since years past. Crappy waitstaff and hostess, food was mediocre, stingy with the bread and all you can eat salad. It gets the two stars, cause I'm not heartless, and OMG peach bellini's!

Cheap and tasty lunch. On par with Olive Garden, but has less of a chain feeling. Italian is not always spaghetti and meatballs, but for a quick bite, this isn't bad at all.

As a poor, almost always hungry college student, I always keep my eyes open for places that taste good and don't break the bank. I have not once during any of my visits had a poor waiter or waitress. They are always kind, always accommodating, always in good spirits, and always deserve a good tip. The amount of food you can get for $3 is amazing. Many times I've come and have ordered unlimited soup/salad. GREAT minestrone soup in my opinion, I almost always get it. The pastas are rich and creamy. I've honestly never ordered something that I wanted to send back. I would say this is on par with Olive Garden with a little bit less of that chain restaurant feeling. They have great dinner and wine deals too, especially for date night. 2 stars for incredible service on all visits, 1.5 stars for great and well priced dinners, and .5 stars for awesome specials and week day deals.

You know when you roll into Bozeman it has been a long drive and you just want to relax find a hot meal, a glass of wine and maybe catch a few minutes of the game. Johnnys was close to where we were staying so we walked across the field and asked to sit at the bar. The Hostess waived us through and went back to her floor plan. We sat at the bar and the girl was pleasant we mistakenly ordered a spirit not knowing this location was wine and beer only. Looked over the menu and ordered a trio of appetizers to gnash and two glasses of wine. The food came out timely and the expo person was quick to suggest a second round and we waived him on with a nod. The girl was busy really did t check back to see how things were until I started pushing plates to the rail. She was overly quick with the check while I was thinking of dessert, she was equally quick to add the dessert, didn't ask for coffee or anything else. Dropped the new check before the dessert came and while looking over the full order receipt because my wife reminds me to look at it. I see 3 glasses of wine charged, so I circle it and place it back by the rail so the bartender can look at it. As she comes over and her eyes never look at the bill, I say I think and she immediately apologizes and says yes she thought we only had two glasses. Shame on her for not asking before presenting the bill, she had 20% before the error, then without looking at the bill and admitting the error she dropped to 10%. We push away from the bar, no "Thank you for coming in, no I am sorry, not even a look" so instead of dropping to a zero gratuity I thought a simple Yelp would do. Maybe the location thinks visitors are goof balls and won't look at the bill, well we do and we won't let you over charge us. Not a place I will return to or recommend, when in Bozeman try anything else.

Good food but goodness gracious this was expensive for just a simple pasta meal. I would probably have to pass just for the price alone.

Bad lasagne. Left the Salad out of the take out order after being told "too bad you don't get half price like you do when you eat in". Would not even have known about half price without order taker volunteering it for no good reason. Gave Johnny Carinos another chance after quite a bad experience last time. Won't make that mistake again.

This place is pretty awful as far as food goes, but our server was good. The Americanized Italian/BBQ fusion was just... wrong. It should not exist. The chicken came out stringy and dry as hell. The pasta was over cooked. It was just odd. I can't see myself ever eating at one of these again. At least Olive Garden can cook its mediocre, lowest common denominator food right.

Eat here if you like biting into bones every time you come here. The past three times I have been here I have bitten in to big pieces of bone. Makes me question the quality of meat they are using. When I showed my server the bones they just shrugged it off like it was nothing. Will never eat here again.

I ordered stuffed mushrooms and spicy marinara seafood medley. Not spicy at all and without the sauce from the stuffed shrooms this dish would suck. The bread is amazing but the oil and vinegar that crouching is 95% oil and again, without that sauce from the mushrooms this would've sucked! What a let down:-( the bread and mushrooms with sauce were the saving grave, plus the delivery guy was insanely kind, which I greatly appreciate.

I have come here several times and have never been disappointed. Friendly staff, low key atmosphere and awesome food! Not sure what to recommend, as i order something new every time- all orders have been great!

My husband and I went to Johnny Carino's for dinner. I was hoping for some good salad options, but was disappointed by their lack of. My husband and I ordered a custom pizza to share and waited about 30 minutes for the pizza to arrive. When the pizza arrived it was COLD. I asked the server to take it back and heat it up. When the pizza arrived for the 2nd time, it was warm, however I noticed that the mushrooms were raw and cold. It's like it was an afterthought. When I took a bite the dough was completely raw! The server noticed the disgusted look on my face and asked if everything was "OK". I said "no" and that the dough was raw as well as the mushrooms. She wanted to take it back to put it back in the oven, and I said no thank you. We just wanted to leave and have it removed from the ticket. Instead of Johnny Carino's paying for everything, they still charged us for a portion of what we ate. I was baffled. We will NEVER return again or recommend this place to friends and family. If a restaurant can't even cook a pizza, I wonder about the rest of it. Save your money and go elsewhere. Bozeman has many other restaurants with quality food for the same price.

Traveling from Washington State to Florida, and this was our first overnight stop. We walked from the Holiday Inn express about three blocks to this restaurant. The atmosphere is very friendly and not too noisy. There was a lot of selection on the menu, and the waitress was quick to take our orders. I ordered the salmon with vegetables and enjoyed every bite. The recipe used lots of butter and garlic, but I'm not complaining!! Overall, would definitely stop here again.

1.75 stars the food here is pretty typical for a run of the mill chain. everything pretty much tastes how it basically should, but there is absolutely nothing special about it. service was friendly though, and you do get a generous amount of food for your dollar.

I was looking for a good meal before the Bozeman marathon and thought Italian would fit the bill. The server was always prompt and attentive but I was not impressed by the bread and the salad was drenched in salad dressing. The eggplant parm was okay.

We tried this place on a Friday evening. The place was not very busy, this should have been a sign. The service was very slow and the food was not good. The food is very average at best. You will probably be happier eating at Olive Garden.

The service was really good. Our waiter was very attentive and polite. The food was excellent with nice portions. The staff really demonstrated a great deal of patience with some obnoxious customers with small children.

This was a decent Italian dinner. I'm usually interested in trying out local restaurants rather than chain restaurants when I'm traveling, but we went to Johnny Carino's because of its location to our hotel. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a very good selection of gluten free items. I got a Caesar Salad and the Skilletini with chicken. It was better than I thought it would be. I left the restaurant satisfied with my meal.

I ate here for lunch with my family and ordered the manicotti, my kids had the pizza dippers, and my husband had a combo platter with a steak, fettuccine, sauteed vegetables and shrimp. We were put in the center seating area with a tiny table more designed for two, not a family of four. I felt we were crammed in with the turn-and-burn crowd of business people on ther one-hour lunch break in a hurry to get in and out. My kids were served right away and the waiter told us ours would come out when the steak was done, as it took longer to cook. When it finally came out, my food was cold, the manicotti noodles were hard and smothered in their marinara sauce that I didn't really like. I sat and envied the looks of the salad that an elderly gentleman had a few tables away, and the sizzling skillet of the table in front of us... I usually send things back that I don't like but this time I didn't feel like waiting another 20 minutes to eat. Maybe I'll have a better experience next time around... Things that could make it better: - respect for the customers that are not a part of the lunch rush crowd - attention to food that hot and ready to go out

I was in town for a week of snowboarding & tried out 3 local owned restaurants & the food was terrible & expensive so I decided to try Carino's since I was really wanting spaghetti & meatballs for some reason. This place is very similar to Macaroni Grill. The menu is varied & the prices are very reasonable. I ended up ordering the Steak Piassale or something it's a 12 ounce NY Strip (grilled perfectly) with polenta. The steak was as good as any NY strip I had & the polenta was perfect not overbooked or mushy. I also had a Sangria which tasted more like grape soda because there was little Sangria in it but it was still good. The portion size's are big. I'm going back tonight for the stuffed mushrooms & spheghetti & meatballs.

Not a top-of-the-line place, but the inexpensive food was liked by all at the table. Place was food-allergy friendly and the portions were generous. A vegetarian would do well here and the waitstaff were all very pleasant. If we lived in Bozeman I could see this being on our regular dining choices.

High on aesthetics and attitude, low on food quality. When you can't prepare spaghetti and meatballs or eggplant parmesan satisfactorily, it's not good. If you must go, have a salad and bread. You can pick out the brown romaine!

I was up on business from California and my 2 closest options were Outback Steak House Or Johnny Carino's. Since I had been to Outback many times I figured I would try Johnny Carino's and I love Italian. The service was great bread and olive oil to start. The meal I ordered was big enough for 2 maybe 3, I had to box the rest up and take it back to the hotel. Very reasonably priced.

GREAT !! Excellent food and run very professionally. The staff takes great care of you, and the service is the best. The Veal Parmesan was terrific and the portions were extremely generous. The Bozeman as well as the Missoula and Billings restaurants are superb!

Personally I really like their food! I don't see why people are dishing out on it! There is only once when I wasn't impressed with their food. They have reasonable prices and you get a lot of food. I would definitely recommend their food.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
