Overall all the food, service and atmosphere was good. I could do without as many kids in a restaurant, but I'm not going to ding them for that. The food was good, but I have had better. For the prices is not bad if your in the mood for their kind of food. I love that they have a bunch of sauces for every pallet. The side dishes were good as well.

Hey it is what it is, A chain barbecue restaurant. However in Bozeman it's by far the best place to me. The one true test for well cooked que is when you bite into the meat whatever kind it is it must fall off the bone. Que meat should not be something you nawl at a bone to acquire. If your are nawling (yeah it's a country term, but your picking up what I am putting down), don't return to the restaurant. I really like their rib tips, they are seasoned well and nice sized. Their sides are plain at best! They have a decent happy hour at this place. Seating is more than ample, the place is clean and the service is good too. Bottom line go hear for que in Bozeman, if you want the real deal, head to the southeast!!!!! Happy trails!!!!

Do not know where to start. Asked if a table would be okay for 2, agreed since it was lunch time and booths seated 4 or more, next couple got the booth, we got the table next to the bathroom, men come out carrying the towel, why is that? Service extremely slow, waitress had to stop and visit with friends and family. After a comnent of "I be back in a second to get the cash, she visited for 5 minutes, yes, I wear a watch. Scrounged around for cash, tip was a bit on the light side, but she "earned" it. Unfortunateky her I get a metal for showing up does not cut it in food service. Food blah, anyway l

Free wifi at a BBQ restaurant. Can't beat that. Food was absolutely delicious and the hospitality in this restaurant was even better. Our server was friendly and energetic. Overall, we had a great time there.

I love this restaurant but was VERY disappointed tonight. Never have I walked out before getting food at a restaurant before but after an hour frim our order time and still no food, I couldn't wait anymore. We watched several tables come in after us, get served and leave. We had ordered appetizers for our meal! Not difficult to prepare... and waitress offered no explanation other than "I don't know what's going on back there" and returned several times to the dining room after that with other people's orders and wouldn't make eye contact so we could ask how much longer it would be. Normally get great fast service but I guess tonight was not our night...

Good average brisket and ribs. Large portions, good service. The brisket and "burnt ends" were cooked to medium well to well, fairly tender and had a good flavor. The very large rack of ribs also has a good flavor but were not the fall off of the bone tender. The grilled pineapple was a tasty side and the mashed potatoes were good. The chili was meaty and well seasoned. Prices - bowl of chili, Two meat dinner and tea was about $22 Not a bad price for the portions.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Had a Pulled pork sandwich and it was great. Lots of food. I like their Zesty BBQ sauce! Service was great, refills were at the table before our others were gone.

Not a huge fan of chains but decided to give this place a go, pleasantly surprised! We got a full rack of St Lois ribs to share with fries, slaw and beans. Lots of flavour, nice smokey-ness, 6 delicious sauces, good/fast service and good value!

Atmosphere: Nice clean country attire. Service: The gentleman that waited our table was kind and checked on us often. Food: I asked for a medium rare steak, I had received a steak closer to medium. The garlic butter on top was a great complement to the steak. Coleslaw not to bad but the cabbage was missing a slight crunch to it probably made in advance coleslaw. Potato salad not quit as chunky as I would prefer. Flavor: Steak was good flavor especially with the compliment of the garlic butter. The coleslaw flavor was nice. Potato salad had a nice fresh flavor due to the compliment of the crunchy celery in it, However it was a smooth potato salad which is not what I quite like. Dessert: I had ordered the Kahlua brownie, Thank god i have such a sweet tooth the richness was the bees knees and I was a straight fan. ( If you are a chocolate fanatic like my self you must order this :D ) Overview: Overall comfortable atmosphere, the Gentleman was kind, food missing details to make the food great. I would easily come back here again on my travels though :)

Homemade mashed potatoes are the way to my heart... and great barbeque makes the trek even easier! For a chain, and for being located in a northern state, Famous Dave's sure has some tasty BBQ. And I may have New Yorker taste buds but I know what I find to be delish and the BBQ combo platter was just that. BBQ Chicken and Brisket with Garlic Mashed, Drunken Apples, and a corn muffin. Yeah. I was full. The chicken fell right off the bone and it was perfectly acceptable to eat with my fingers! I've had better brisket but this was still very good. Our waitress was friendly, the service was fast- an overall great experience. I can't wait to see if the MD locations are just as good!

In a word: repugnant... I knew going into Famous Dave's that they do "Memphis-style" bar-q-que, so I was prepared for that. What I wasn't prepared for was my plate of ribs emerging from the kitchen cold and covered in congealed sauce. They were so congealed they were stuck to the plate. I tilted it sideways and the food didn't move. It was like Donald Trump's hair. I waited for the waitress to come back so I could have her throw them in a microwave and heat them up, but she disappeared. Actually, the entire staff - including the bartender, disappeared for 15 minutes. So, I nibbed on a cold rib and shed tears into it, hoping to improve the taste. It did not. My sides were also cold and disgusting. When the waitress came back and saw that I only had eaten 1 rib she didn't ask if anything was wrong or how I liked my meal. She said, "here's your check" and skipped off. By that point, I was pretty pissed and my stomach was already upset, so I left. Only to come right back in and spend about 10 minutes in the bathroom. Famous Dave's. More like: Famous Dumps.

Food was good service was horrible. Waitress behind bar basically ignored me. Kept looking at me but would not come over to take my order but she visited each table many times before coming back to me. Chain restaurant service.

Hands down the WORST bbq I have ever had. Perhaps my standards are a bit high since I'm form Texas and the bbq there is always top notch. However... I doubt that it's just my skewed perception. I was in town for work and we selected this restaurant because three in our party (including me) can't eat gluten. BBQ is typically an easy fix for gluten allergies. Well, not here. The waitress brought over a gluten free menu that was so out dated that I had to ask questions about lots of other stuff on the menu (which is frustrating). The choices were few an far between. So i ended up ordering a loaded baked potato with brisket on top with a side of steamed broccoli. The broccoli was overcooked and swimming in butter. Not quite the low calorie option I was hoping for. The potato was small, dried out and had very few toppings on it. A spoonful of cheese for a "loaded" potato...really?! And then there was the brisket topping for my potato....wow. It tasted as if it had been siting under a heat lamp for 12 hours. Dried out, hard crunchy bits around the edges. Yuck. I'm glad this is not a chain we have in Texas. It would have failed long ago.

I have eaten at Famous Daves a few times now and I have always left pleased and full. If you are looking for a place to sit down and have some filling, classic american family style food, this is the place to go. Every time I have eaten here, we have purchased one of the family style platters. They are very good and have everything you could want for the appropriate amount of people. The BBQ, Brisket and roasted chicken are all very good, moist and very flavorful. All of the sides that accommodate the meats are fantastic. If you like this kind of food, and you're hungry, this joint is never a bad decision.

In a word, horrid. Slow service, fatty pork, and it all tasted bad. I will never be back. It is a mystery how such a terrible restaurant can manage to stay open. I wish Texas Roadhouse would open a restaurant in Bozeman and run Infamous Dave's out of business.

Real decent environment and servers. I ordered the brisket which must have been cut to soon before serving because it was tender, but a bit dry. The sweet corn and the beans were fantastic! My wife ordered the grilled salmon, which looked to be cooked perfectly and must have been good, because it disappeared very quickly. Over all a very satisfying meal and a great environment.

A solid four stars. Had the feast for one - ribs, chicken, pork with cole slaw, mashed potatoes, corn and beans. Finished it off with bread pudding. Everything was delicious. All of it. Sadly, here was no way to finish it all but I tried mightily! Great service, too. Will definitely be back. Very satisfied.

This place has a fun and inviting vibe, with sports on the tv's in the bar area. There is a separate dining area more geared towards families. I got the bbq chicken platter with broccoli and corn. My co worker got the brisket with beans and fries. Both meats were perfectly cooked, tender & juicy. 6 different sauces to choose from on the table. All of the sides were delicious, corn was on the cob and just the right texture, fries were thick and crispy. Both platter came with corn bread. I'm usually not a fan of corn bread but it's so so good. Great service.

What's so famous about Famous Dave's BBQ? So, I heard, it's their ribs. The locals in Bozeman, Montana told me to eat here. Well, there was no other choices available except for an Arby's so I took the dive into this BBQ restaurant. I ordered a slab of St. Louis style BBQ ribs. Apparently, their ribs are pit smoked for 3 to 4 hours over a smoldering hickery fire. Then, they're coating with their special spicy BBQ sauce. There was definately a sweet and spicy flavour to the ribs. In my opinion, too sweet and there was a lack of real BBQ smoke flavour. The spicy flavour was really nice. I wasn't a fan of the charred parts of the ribs, so I spent a lot of time cutting off the char. It came with a tiny vanilla flavoured muffin, 1/3 of a corn on the cob, salad, and broccoli. I just found it a little strange that I was given a muffin with ribs with dinner. Sadly, the muffin tasted just like the stuff you would find at Safeway or Wal-Mart. The interior of the restaurant has a very outdoorsy and rustic feel to it. Staff were very friendly.

On my recent trip to Bozeman, MT, I scoped out my BBQ options. There was one option - Famous Dave's. After reading a review from a different location, I was a bit nervous. I certainly didn't want to go and have a terrible dinner, but I decided to take the plunge. I'm glad I did. Inside the restaurant, the décor was very comfortable and inviting. And the staff... the staff was some of the absolute friendliest that I have ever come across at a restaurant. The waitress who was taking care of my table had a shirt on that said on the back "Yes, there is a Dave and he is famous." I think I blew her mind when I told her that I've met Famous Dave. Now on to the food... I decided to go with a combo of St. Louis style spare ribs and brisket. For one of my two sides, I requested Dave's cheesy macaroni and cheese. I asked my waitress to surprise me for the other side dish - I ended up getting Creamy Coleslaw. The ribs had excellent flavor! They were sticky ribs (which is how I like them), and they left a clean bite mark when bitten into. The brisket had an interesting flavor. It did not taste like any brisket I previously had. It almost had a beef jerky-ish type flavor. It was also the smallest brisket I've ever eaten. Nevertheless, it was good, and I ate it. The coleslaw was very creamy and tasty. The macaroni and cheese was very cheesy and creamy. The corn added a change in texture that was pleasant. I was hoping for more of a jalapeno kick though. Price points are about on par -- not too expensive. I believe the combo plate I had was $14. All in all, I was very pleasantly surprised and pleased with my meal at Famous Dave's in Bozeman, MT. The staff there are definitely doing things right! This review is available with pictures (and a video) at bigwaynerbbq.com/2012/06…

I was ready for fall off the bone ribs. Here they came, nestled in red-checkered paper in a basket stacked with fries. The hush puppies were delicious, too. The atmosphere is kind of like Disney on a dude ranch vacation. Bright, wagon wheel lights hang over scores of pine tables. It's fun and the meat is lean, plentiful, and delicious.

Good food but waitress was obnoxiously chewing gum. Leave the gum at home and be professional.

Service wasn't terrible, no complaints there. The portions are okay. I really loved their corn bread. The ribs were mediocre as well as their bbq sauce. I have had way better ribs. I think Chili's makes better ribs. My ribs didn't seem to have much meat on them and tasted dry. I was not impressed with the flavor of the food and will not go back.

delicious. FD's is a chain, so it's not ground breaking in terms of gourmet offerings or truly amazing bbq. BUT - it is very good and definitely hits the spot when you want to eat a lot of food. Very comfortable atmosphere and definitely kid friendly. only reason its not getting the five stars is that it carries pepsi products, blech.

Ribs are very good but the brisket is not. I agree with what someone else said about the serving sizes getting smaller all the time. Looking forward to the return of their catfish

The veil of the physical lies thin at Famous Dave's Barbecue, as through this establishment exists in two planes: ours, and one of chaos. Whatever black magicks are at work in Famous Dave's slowly tear at not only the very fabric of reality, but the sanity of its customers. The feeling of the imminent birth of horrors beyond man's imagining hangs heavy, weightless, like a cow on a hook, a corpse on a gallows. My traveling companion and I were drawn unbidden, as though guided by an invisible hand, to the BarBQ Platter For Two. When Famous Dave's dark emissary came to take our order, the words were plucked from our throats by what I can only identify as a formless evil. When the creature returned, it placed a small altar on the table and upon it laid that taste of Hell, that sinister cornucopia that soon consumed us as much as we consumed it. We fell upon it as wolves in a nursery, first with hunger, then driven by madness. Darkness overcame us. When we awoke, we faced a grisly scene -- bones, gristle, sauces and corncobs, a testament the frailty of the human mind in the face of these infernal smoked meats. Though we were unable to reconstruct the events of the past 23 minutes, we shared a certain knowledge that Famous Dave has made some pact with a force not only evil, but uncaring and ambivalent towards humanity itself. We're unsure of what we have lost by consuming Famous Dave's unnaturally delicious barbecue, but there can be no doubt that something intangible has been taken from us. Now, it seems, we are marked. Babies cry in our presence, dogs bark at our approach and the vermin of the earth are driven before us. We know we cannot ask our families for forgiveness, and instead ask only to be forgotten, as surely the city of Bozeman will be forgotten when Famous Dave succumbs to the howling madness, ever-knocking at the doors of his mind. 4 stars. Try the brisket!

Another great meal here, never fails. Serving sizes seem to be getting a little smaller every time I go though. Still my fallback when driving and in need a quick good meal. Service has been great here and that's a plus.

I love it. I bring my family there at least once a month, and even my 2-years old son looks forward to it (saying 'eat' each time we drive by to reach the nearby Walmart). Very good meat, and since recently they have low-carb and low-calories options as well. Prices are really reasonable, and their is always enough food to bring a doggy bag home.

I give 5stars for the fact it one of the best BBQ chain that serves real southern style food.
