Fantastic Breakfast! Homemade jam at every table, huge slices of bacon. We will be back many times.

While waiting over 30 minutes for our breakfast on a slow Thursday morning we got to watch an employee put his bare feet up on the counter and wrap his ankles with dirty ace bandages. He went back to work without washing his hands and he didn't wash the counter, then someone was seated at that spot. We didn't stick around after that so I can't say anything about the food. Drive a few more miles and go to the Echo Lake Cafe where the food is amazing and fast and the service is excellent.

As always they have the best breakfasts with locally made pork sausage patties. This is my favorite place for breakfast while visit in Bigfork. Echo Lake cage also has a great breakfast but they can be v busy sometimes and there may be a wait before getting seated at a table.

After a bad dining experience at another place we decided to stop there. We told them about it and the women working went above and beyond to serve us and make up something they weren't responsible for. The food was amazing! I'll definitely be stopping there again.

I just had the best waffle I've ever eaten!! Fluffy, tender and great taste. As always, solid American breakfast. Summer tourist trade sometimes means delays but worth the stop. Have been coming here for five years and despite changes in cooks and staff they remain tops.

Be sure to stop here! What a treat to discover this place. We have stayed at the Mountain Lake Lodge every year for five years. This year we walked over to Woods Bay Grill and wished we had known about this place sooner. The service is great! The food is great! And OMG their preserves are incredible. Everything is fresh and homemade. Get this...homemade biscuits and the gravy has bits of sausage....oh Lordy!

Awesome people -- both the cook and our server. Nothing fancy, but friendly folks and a fantastic burger. Simple and delicious. Also, any place that serves tater tots is ok by me!

Picture this...Saturday morning...your first trip to the Wood's Bay Grill. You enter the quaint eatery...the door squeeks as you walk in...and slams with a loud bang as you pass the threshold.. The three employees who are just a few feet away don't flinch..they continue unaffected by your presence. You move slightly closer to the counter, where only two customes sit. The waitress begins an interactive conversation with the cook who is plating an order of eggs Benedict... Then as she pours the hollandaise sauce on the ham..she exclaims..."oh Christ, I forgot the eggs"! And so the stage was set for a memorible first and last dining experience at the Wood's Bay Grill. From our entry to exit, the staff fails to engage even the most common interactions. We gave up thinking the staff would say hello or the customary "anywhere you'd like folks" common in other friendly Montana eating establishments! No, we were left on our own as we sat at the counter for an up close and personal look at the "chef" who would utimately prepare our breakfast. I glanced for a clock...noting the time was 10:40....and whispering to my wife..."they have five minutes, and if they don't acknowledge us...we're leaving." The minutes ticked by...and four minutes later, the server placed two menus in front is us as she sashayed by without stopping and without saying one word. Meanwhile the chef..only two feet away scrapes away at the flattop and tosses the remains of the last order into the scrap bucket...mumbling under her breath, but directed to the other couple seated to the left.."this is for the chickens". Finally after reviewing the menu for five minutes or so, our server saunters up, tosses her order pad on the counter and ask my wife"whadda you have"? My bride orders the cornbeef hash and eggs. The server scribbles the order and moves her pen down a line and pauses...never looking up...the seconds tick by...tick, tick, tick...finally with an exacerbating exhale of tobacco breath. She looks up at me...and for the first time, our eyes meet! "Chicken fried steak, basted eggs, rye toast, two coffees" I exclaim...hoping for a wink, a nod or a simple thank you...but it was not to be...."Order in!" as she slapps the ticket up on the board for the chef to peruse...tick, tick tick! The server, busgirl and chef banter back and forth as the couple next to us dine...at one point it was obvious to the chef the man did not eat his breakfast in it entirty... The chef asked why he didn't eat his meal...jokingly he replied "because it tasted like dirt"! It was very apparent that he was a local, and was joking...because he then admitted it was just fine! So our meal comes and is placed down with an obligatory refill of the coffee cup. But still no interaction with the staff. The chef who was in front of me for our 35 minute dining experience never once engaged us or made eye contact. On the plus side the breakfast was tolerable at best. But the socal interaction was far from being a pleasurable dining experience. The last place I would take friends to on a crisp autumn morning in beautiful " Big Sky Country".

I am writing this review as I am sitting and waiting for my food. It has been 38 minutes and my breakfast hasn't arrived yet. As im looking around I realize that nobody has their food either. It amazes me that it could take so long to prepare 2 eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast. Pretty standard meal though. The only thing worth noting is the impressive homemade jam selection. Definitely not worth the wait though. I will not be dining at woods bay grill in the future
