really Delicious Pizzas and a great lunch deal to boot. Worth getting off the freeway for.
A bit spendy, but totally worth it! They make great pizza's and desserts! We ordered for take out but their dining area is fancy :)
Excellent food and service. Iron star pizza was exceptional. We were just driving thru town looking for a dinner spot and happened upon this one. So glad we did! We will be back next time we cruise through town!

As a long standing customer (a few times a year since 2005) there is a nostalgia for me about The Grand in Big Timber. That feeling started to fade over the last 4 years. I have had quite a few meals (steak & fish) over the past few visits that have been mediocre at best. On July 10, 2014 I ordered the flat iron steak medium rare and it was very disappointing. First round came back well done and both my server and chef Amy didn't believe me. The answer was that her touching of the steak indicated it was medium rare. Amy should get back in touch with her ingredients because this is the second most tender cut of meat on a cow and not going to "feel" like a ny strip would. They can feel different from animal to animal. Secondly please don't leave a steak on a cast iron skillet. While rustic looking it continues to cook the steak well past the way anyone will order their meal. The menu while nostalgic, hasn't changed in almost a decade. I'm certain there are local favorites like the Montana rack of lamb that absolutely should never come off the menu and I highly recommend. Exec Chef Amy should take a page from the foodie cities and have 4 seasonal menus with fresh ingredients, LESS butter, more natural (olive) oils. More salad options with fruits and hearty vegetables like roasted beets, fingerling carrots, heirloom tomatoes, kale ect. The main point is be creative while healthy. It will return The Grand's Restaurant and Bar to it's glory days. More families will come out from their homes and be excited to grab a healthy seasonally changing meal.
This is one of those places that you think twice before submitting a review, because you don't want anyone else to find out how awesome it is! We stayed a night in the hotel as we traveled from Washington to Minnesota. I wasn't sure what to expect, but came away extremely pleased. The hotel/B&B is in great shape and certainly, for such a historic place, it offers most modern comforts. And, the staff at the hotel is amazingly pleasant. Don't even consider anywhere else of staying the night in or near Big Timber. You can't beat this place. Also, if you get the chance, grab dinner at their restaurant. Food was amazing. Expertly prepared. Served beautifully. Wine list wasn't deep, but broad enough to offer many good choices. We enjoyed this place so much that we are thinking of making a destination trip just to stay at the Grand and enjoy the local surroundings.
My wife and I had an appetizer made of morel mushrooms and we both got a bad case of the shitz.

This was a fun lunch, good $5 kids menu (hard to find on menu), my pulled pork sandwich with dried onions was tasty, kids and I enjoyed the cheese curds. Server wasn't super friendly but others were nice. Kids were bummed foosball and pool were marked 18+. We'll be back. :)
If I could leave less than one star I would. We stopped in Big Timber for the night and went to several different establishments, all with great food, drinks and customer service EXCEPT this place! The women working here had the worst attitudes I have encountered in a long time. Food: terrible! We had the "chicken fingers" they were gooey and not good. Drinks: 4 beers on tap? At a tavern?!? Please. Service: see above. They were rude! I accidentally spilled my drink and they accused me of "getting carried away"... Um nope. If you are in town, skip this place and go to the pizza place or the grand saloon.
Pizza was closed, so stopped here for forst time. Great prices, beer on tap, great food- definitely coming again!
